RP: Lorath [Kathra Station] Mending Apocolypse

Vesper

Inactive Member
ON/ Kathra Station, Lor System

Walking down the disembarkation ramp of the lithe Simurl Esajt moved hastily to the aid waiting on the deck several meters in front of the shuttles front landing struts, the black and blue formal robe he wore trailing slightly on the floor. He had just transfered over from the Mitrujha that had met him in Lor orbit after separating from the other leaders to deal with a matter of "urgent national import". Which it was, though some other things had needed attending to that he preferred they not be involved in. Plans to set in motion, things to hide.

Nearing his aid he could tell how haggard the man looked, which was not unsurprising given the last few days events. He did not stop as he passed Telseron, expecting him to move to follow, which the man did. "Telseron, how are preparations going aboard the station? As much as I dislike it, there has apparently been little time for proper reports."

Repressing a sigh, Telseron responded," As good as can be expected I would say. The construction and maintenance personnel are doing their best to refit the holds to better support the refugees and the hydroponics bays are being massively expanded. Even with those changes though it will be quite some time before the situation on the station gets back to anything resembling normal. We are also trying to move some of the refugees to the other colonies, seeing as they are overflowing into the hallways, as you will no doubt see shortly. I do have good news in that power should not be a issue. Some of the satellite reactors had to be brought online ahead of schedule, but other than expected delays with new construction, they are doing well."

"Good, good. We must keep a tight grip on the situation. With the problems throughout the system, the smallest spark could set off a brush fire against the rulership. I doubt I need to expand to you on the dangerous position our species occupies at the current time. We stand as close as we ever have to extinction. Not even after the Fall where we so close to it. The current tallies show nearly 3 billion dead or dieing on Lor."

Telseron emitted a low curse at the casualty numbers as the walked out of the hangar and into one of the transport tubes to take them the distance to his parliamentary office aboard the station. "It still amazes me that these Yamatians expose honor and loyalty when they failed so immensely in their end of the treaty they put us in."

"Indeed, and on that note, I do hope the exploits aboard the Mishu vessel have not spread too far," he said with a sardonic grin on his face.

Looking somewhat concerned," Well sir, I am afraid.. Oh," his expression changing to a similar smile," that it has indeed gotten out. We have tried to keep it from the general masses, but a fair portion of the higher echelons throughout the houses have heard it."

"Tragic, truly tragic." His expression changing to something more serious," will all of them be attending?"

"Yes, though the others from the cruiser only made it here slightly before you, but I believe they should be able to finish settling into there quarters before the meeting. Commander Ittisaf said he is extremely busy with I quote 'keeping this damn station from going to hell'. "

"Good news overall, and I am not surprised that he will not be able to make it, though I am rather disappointed. I know Skkari will at least be able to attend, we will need someone from the direct hierarchy of the military. "

Finishing up as he stepped out of the tube as it stopped, dodging a group of refugees also headed into it. Moving through several corridors he finally reached his destination. The beautifully engraved doors of the parliamentary facilities where flanked by a trio of OSF soldiers. The leader of the group moved to intercept them and then paused as he recognized the pair and nodded them through.

The interior of the facilities was very nicely appointed, having been one of the first sections of the station brought to completeness after the necessary system where completed. They moved past a dozen offices and a fairly large number of senators and assistants. Greeting a few of them he headed to his own he entered the command code to open it just before he reached it and it slid open automatically. He took a sharp turn after entering to his destination, the offices conference room. There where of course others, but he did not feel they needed anything larger.

The room contained dozen plush yet functional chairs surrounding a large crystal table containing a display unit and access port for each sitee. The center roof of the room contained a very detailed holographic projector. Several ferns, engineered to grow well in the low g environment of the early starships, their graceful blue-red shoots reached halfway up the tall, engraved walls of the room.

Taking a seat at the head chair, he now had to but wait for the others to arrive.

Even with the refugees coming and going, the fresh white robes of Velor seemed to cut through the crowd as he stood at the airlock, waiting for the transport vessel that held his sister to unload. I hope her visit to the surface went alright. I hope she was able to get a good feel for the situation.. Velor slightly hopped from one foot to another as he waited for the airlock to open to allow his sister to pass through, along with the others that went with her to get a feel for the situation on the planet. (c)

After a few moments of docking preparations, the refitted cargo vessel which had additional bulky slabs of armor plate, opened her airlock which connected to the station. First a pair of warriors stepped through and began to escort the refugees whom lingered in the corridor away from the airlock.

Velor smoothed out his robes and took in a breath as he prepared to welcome his sister and queen aboard the station which she so rarely visited.

Destiny slowly made her way from the docked ship and looked...different. She seemed much more withdrawn then her usual perky attitude left her. Pain registered on her face as well, pain at the loss of so much life for what? The queen was without and plushie, but in her current mood that was no shock. The woman seemed dead to the outside world as she walked through the air lock, her head bent as the scenes of devastation, death and destruction replayed over and over again in her mind, scenes she was sure she would never be able to be free of.

Fate followed shortly after Destiny, though she wasn't wearing her armor, she was curiously wearing her helmet, which obscures her visage from view. She moved briskly and quickly to stay behind the queen and remained silent.

Rain was elsewhere in the station at the moment, leaning against a wall quietly, eyes closed, thinking about everything that had been lost. All his bonded animals, but only his companion was by his side. looking down sadly as well whimpering a bit and lying down.

Obelisk simply followed in the shadow of her mistress and the queen. Not as used to controlling her emotions as the two women, Obelisk openly cried, though her eyes faced downwards.

Skka'ri walked calmly into the officers conference room, he had a serious look in his eyes. He was dressed in a mostly black space suit like uniform not unlike some of the other personnel on the station, he was followed by a small Helashio girl with dark hair, who was wearing a very similar uniform. Both he and his Helashio assistant were holding data pads, the Helashio girl was actively entering data into hers as she walked.

As he sat down at the foot of the table opposite of Esajt, he allowed the Halashio girl to take the seat to the right side him. "There is much to discuss, yet again my friend," Skka'ri said to Esajt as they waited for the others to arrive.

"Yes, we do indeed.," he said paying only a single glance to Skkari's assistant," I cannot say I am pleased about being correct in this matter. I was pleased to hear that the Maturazzi's transfer went well,it would have been a serious setback if something had happened."

He paused to take the drink his assistant had procured before he moved around the table depositing data tablets with the information on the current situation. As he was partway around the table one of the senators, a Kim'arrae Thorj, in head of the committee in charge of the refugee situation in the outer came in and was greeted by Esajt and Skarri before he sat down at the table. Once the assistant finished he sat down to Esajt's left.

A few other people filed in, 2 more senators and finally Admiral Perquee walked in, his assistant following. Esajt stood up as he entered, smiling broadly. "It seems like it has been ages since we last met Perquee! I realize it may seem rather unnecessary, since much of our meeting is about it, but how have you been?", said as he extended his hand.

The middle-aged man grasped Esajt hand and drew him into a hug," As good as can be expected. Of course Fazyr here," he nodded to one of the senators, who smiled good naturally," is as always making those damn finance meetings hell."

"Oh?", turning to the man, his tone somewhat jocking," I keep telling you to keep the datasheets for that down to a minimum."

Smiling," I have, but try as I might, I can't seem to get it below several dozen."

As the admiral sat down at the chair immediately to Esajt's right he said,"And rather unsurprisingly Carteki was not able to attend, what with all the rushing the Navy is having to do right now."

"I am not the least bit surprised, though I still wish the old man could have attend," Esajt said and waited for the others to arrive.

Velor gave a deep bow to his sister as he gave a welcoming, but some what grim smile. "Welcome my dear Xiaah and sister. I am glad to have you back from the surface in one piece... I'd like to show you to the conference room as soon as possible. They tell me we've assembled most of the top ranking officers, though a few have been MIA." After rising from the bow, Velor motioned for the group to move along with him.

Destiny gave her brother the barest of nods as she simply followed after her brother. It was odd though, since planet side she had not shed a single tear. Instead she had just looked on at everything with what looked like indifference almost. She shook though every so often as she followed behind her brother, as if the faintest of breezes could topple the mighty queen.

Fate followed behind Destiny, keeping a guarded eye on her charge and stood ready to catch, and even carry her at the slightest moment she showed signs of faltering. "My lady, " she whispered to Destiny, "wouldn't it be more prudent that you got a bit of rest before you went to meet with Truth and his vultures?"

Rain just watched them pass for the moment and sighed looking away, the male wolf looking at them as well as two little puppies whimpering behind the male's forelegs. He supposed it was time to go on into the meeting room, but he wouldn't leave what was left of his little family behind. Rain perked a brow at the Queen's condition, wondering just what was wrong but he could guess.

Obelisk looked up slightly as she heard the whimper of the wolves. With a shock, she hadn't realized they were around others, and quickly wiped off her face and tried to put up a strong front. But it was obvious from the wetness of her cheeks she was still shaken.

"I'm not immune to that myself," Skk'ri said looking over to Fazyr; "I have gained such an odd fondness for these datapads, I must blame it on your constant influence. I hope things are going as well as can be expected for you... but now is not the time for catching up I imagine there are important matters to get to..." Skka'ri finished with a sigh.

Velor continued through the halls, taking only a small moment of time here and there to give a nod of greeting to small clusters of refugees. After weaving through the crowded boarding corridor, Velor escorted the group onto the lift, where they then proceeded to the parliamentary area. As soon as they arrived in the office area of the station, Velor stepped out from the lift and made his way to and into the conference room, as soon as he entered he stepped aside to allow the Xiaah to enter.

Destiny entered in, and as she did, she seemed to change. From the cold and emotionally withdrawn woman in the hallway, to what she could muster up for this meeting. It was impressive actually how much she changed. The queen's chin was up as she entered into the room and moved to the middle chair of the three open chairs to allow her brother to sit at one side, and either Fate or Obelisk to sit at the other. She would remain standing until the other's stood, as was custom.

Fate walked into the room after Destiny and looked around. Thankfully she opted to wear her helmet, otherwise, her sneer would be quite visible to the collected Ocheesta in the room. "Esajt." She said with a curt, and short bow. "Collected Senators." She said with a general nod to all of them. Before taking her seat next to Destiny.

After a little bit Rain came in with his family and sat down in one of the open spots without a word the animals laying down next to the chair with the puppies in his lap for comfort. "hello everyone"

Obelisk stood by her seat to the side of her queen. She looked around at those that had already been seated and had yet to rise. True, the house was run by males...but did they still have no sense of customs nor respect?

Standing up, a cue for the others to so as well," Welcome to my office, I trust your trip here went smoothly, though I know the subject matter of it cannot have been good," he said, his voice becoming more serious near the end. As Destiney sat down, the others did as well. Mentally he sent a few commands to the rooms computer, indicating recording was to begin. Nothing unusual given the seriousness of the meeting.

After the Xiaah was seated, Velor made his way to his sister's side, giving a nod to everyone in the room before taking his seat. When he sat, his gaze went to his sister just for a second before he returned his gaze to the middle of the table.

"Thank you all for coming to this meeting. As you are all aware, our homeland has suffered a devastating tragedy over the last few days. Billions are dead or dying and hundreds of millions more have been displaced. I have brought you here to discuss how we will be dealing with this. The most urgent matter I feel we must deal with is what we will be doing about Lor itself, and its devastated biosphere. We have already mustered several cargo vessels to distribute micrmachines to prevent the spread of the radioactive fall out.

Beyond that emergency measure, we will all have to coordinate getting assistance to those on the moon-ward side of the planet, which took the bulk of the damage. Once we have that resolved, at least to a workable plan, we will need to discuss the refugee problem. As you no doubt saw on your way here, we have managed to shelter quite a large number of them here, but as it is it is not a permanent solution and there are many times this number of refugees still on the transports outside the station and scattered throughout the system. We have put together as much information as we where able into the datapads that are in front of you.

"Does anyone have any questions before the meeting is officially begun?", he said, looking around at the assembled.

OFF/

Destiny just shook her head as she peered around the room, her back straight against the back of the chair and her chin tilted up slightly, just as she should be.

"You may begin with the meeting. I hope it is productive, for we can not afford to waste time right now."

Obelisk sat at her side, silent as usual in such a impressive gathering. She would speak only when spoken too.

Rain just looked up at Destiny with dead eyes, no emotion showing in them. "Just...pardon my silence, please understand." he asid leaning on the table and putting his hand on his forehead.

Velor took his place beside his sister, but instead of having his back pressed against the back of the chair, he leaned forwards, placing his chin upon his clasped hands. His yellow eyes gazed from person to person. Some of the top brass is missing... I wonder if those old ones managed to find safety. Their wisdom from the surface war would help us greatly right now.

"I also give my permission to begin the meeting. I would like you to begin with our casualty counts, from there, you may move on with the meeting as you please.â€

Esajt quirked his eyebrow at the implication that he needed permission to begin the meeting. He sent a mental projection to the holoprojector, causing it to spring into life. It was showing images, both from orbit and from low flying drones of the devastated periphery of the main impact area. Some of the images taken by the drones showed temporary prefab structures deployed to provide for the search and rescue.

"Based on the damage to planet, as you can see here, we estimate the total dead at 3.47 billion Lorath and some 2.43 billion Helashio with the number of casualties somewhere around twice that number. Exact figures will not be available for some time, if ever. Unfortunately our peoples very high rate of reproduction many of them where unable to find safe shelter in the deeper cave networks, those on the surface or in the shallow caves account for a estimated 64% or so of the total deaths and casualties. The other fragment are those, primarily on the impacted side of the planet, are those in the deep caves, which suffered heavy damage due to the seismic disturbances the impacts caused." The hovering image showed a massive sinkhole, nearly 6 km across and hundreds of meters deep, the result of a massive cave in, and likely the death of millions huddling in supposed safety.

The video changed again to show a huge transport aerostat lowering a large prefab building to the ground amongst a swarm of tiny ones, thousands of people rushing hither and thither to help the wounded brought to the staging area. "We are currently focusing most of our efforts towards the surface of the intermediate band between the impacted side of the planet and the other, where we should have much better success. All of the available large-scale borers have been brought back on line, though a huge number of them where destroyed or damage beyond easy repair by the disaster. Even if all of them where available though, we are not predicting a very good rate of successful rescue within the deeper caves. With the underground operations, so far we have been focusing on getting to those blocked off shelters that are still broadcasting. I realize it may seem heartless, but the simple mathematics of the situations can show any of you that we will be able to save far more lives that way."

"Off of Lor, the situation is much better, as they did not focus their attacks on our satellite colonies. Still, we estimate they suffered several tens of millions of deaths and several times that number in casualties. In some locations the initial rescue effort has been hampered by stragglers from the original Mishu fleet, though the LSDF has managed to clean up all but a few runners."

He paused for a second to let the others get a word in if they so chose.

After allowing a few silent seconds to pass, Velor spoke up with a rather steady tone, one that seemed quite forced. "I see... continue our search and rescue efforts, assign any functional ‘Bringer of Thunder' machines to help with moving the wreckage. I would like orders to be given to our search and rescue teams that they are to take care of corpses as well as they would take care of a survivor. We do not want to disgrace the memories of the fallen.â€

Harr'Ikke could only nod to her brother's words. In a way, she was annoyed he was taking control of this when it really should be her speaking. But then, in a way she was glad. She had seen the carnage first hand, the devistation that had fallen on her planet, and as she heard the casualty count, she only felt sicker.

She was unsure of her voice, so instead she kept silent and her face blank. It would not do for the queen to look weak in such a situation, so she would not. Instead, she would make it look as if she were passing off her duties to her brother, and allow him to speak, while she instead stayed quiet. In her mind though, she quietly thanked her mother for teaching her such a skill as to let her keep her emotions hidden amongst the house heads.

ON/ Kathra Station, Lor System

The High Priest's words settled into the room as the robed man took his seat once more, and the floor once again fell to Esajt as he stood up from his seat and went about explaining casualty reports, city by city. After a long series of gruesome death tolls, Esajt moved onto the issue of the clean up effort, he began to speak of radiation fall out, dust particles, micro technology, and other such technicalities.

Rain sat off to the side quietly, silently mourning still, the empathic cries of pain and dying still ringing in his head and heart. "I feel bad for all the animals that have died too, a lot of the shaman lost their bonded animal in that...â€

(OOC Note: This was meant to be posted a couple of days ago. Sorry Tiff. This was also set prior to the Lorath transmission to the Yamatai senate regarding fleet size.)

ON: Kathra Station, Lor System, Communications Room.

Velor followed behind his sister, keeping a distance from her, knowing full well with the recent events that his sister would like her space, but he did dare to attempt to communicate with her. "Sister... I know you're not doing well... but we still have work to do, and I know you know that, but I just want to remind you and tell you that I am here to support you... you know this. Would you like to get some things that I have on our agenda?"

His sister didn't respond, she just simply nodded. Too much was on her mind for even mental communication, apparent by the jumble of thoughts and feelings in her head.

With the nod, Velor strode to his sister's side and guided her to a turn in the corridor that they were walking in. "We have a note from the senator that we left on Yamatai, something about some issues which need our approval." Velor then tapped the panel beside a doorway, which then slid open to reveal a small office with a large communications screen. "After you m'dear sister."

Destiny nodded again and strode into the room. As she crossed the portal, she seemed to change again. She came out of her defeated slouch and straightened up. She was once again the powerful commanding queen she exhibited in front of those that were not close to her. She sat in front of the screen and waited for her brother to bring up the channel

Velor slid open a small wall panel and went about prodding at a flat control panel inside of it, after a few moments a subspace communication channel was opened. It did take a small effort though, considering that the signal had to be bounced from the station, to one of the vessels purchased from Yamatai, and then to Yamatai, then vice versa. "Communication should be up; I do think this is a direct line to our senator's chambers."

The feed cleared quickly, to show Senator seated in a high backed leather chair, his helisho servant, still garbed in her robes standing beside him holding a metal tray with what looks like a bottle of some drink and a few assorted snacks. "Greetings your highness and your holiness." He said pleasantly as he nodded to them both, the helisho doing the same.

Velor gave a small nod as he strode beside his sister and remained standing with his hands clasped behind his back.

"Greetings Senator, I hope they are treating you fairly there?" Destiny's voice was as commanding and bold as ever. She gave him a small warm smile, her eyes locked on him with a strong look.

"They are indeed." He said, making a barely noticeable motion and his helisho responding, pouring him a drink, while balancing the tray on hand, and then extending the glass to him.
"They're stepping lightly around me apparently, even though we're apparently a backwards planet, the civilian population in the empire is keeping a close eye on our situation." He said, pausing slightly to take a drink, "with our close proximity to the new border, they're watching and waiting to see how the empire does to protect high risk systems."

Velor gave an understanding nod as he took note of what was said. "We'd like a full report on anything which may be of consequence to us, you could send it in a simple text document, what we were calling for, was the note you sent to us regarding some recent topics which were voted on in the senate."

"Oh yes." Senator responded, "I've managed to procure supplies, machinery and doctors for the relief effort planet side." He said, and then took another drink. "It was a surprisingly interesting debate when the Empire's primary senator voted against it, simply because I requested for doctors, apparently this empire has a shortage.

"I also managed to argue a garrison onto our system." He muttered, "We'll need to set some land aside somewhere for the base, but after it's up and running, the Yamatians'll leave it for us." He mentioned

"Excellent work... but a shortage of doctors you say? Well, hopefully we will prove useful to them in that regard once we get on our feet." Velor said as he nodded slowly.

"A garrison? Interesting... send us the details regarding this as soon as possible, attach it to the report which I have requested." Velor seemed to take more of a command of the communication, considering that the issue of politics did indeed suit his interests and influence. "I think that the Fyunnen should be pleased to hear they will be receiving some new equipment... but I doubt they'd be pleased with the nature of the equipment."

"Not like it's hard to both appease and anger those people." Senator muttered offhanded, which caused his helisho to giggle slightly.

"True enough, but we do tend to pick on them too often. I would suggest you tone down your jokes in that regard. I do not want our people to appear as argumentative siblings in front of the offworlders." Velor's gaze moved to his sister, slightly worried at her reaction to the comment from the senator.

"They will deal with this, they must. If we are to defend ourselves, we must learn to fight with their weapons. I will talk to Sen'ythy about it." Destiny spoke up now, slightly defensive of the warrior caste as she still began to wonder.

"I understand." Senator said, his helisho nodding, her eyes still fairly vacant looking. "Anyway, there was another bill on the docket I wish to talk about."

"Continue." Velor said with a nod and a small hand gesture.

"Well, you can rejoice some your holiness. Tell the caste master that we now have a fleet yard and ship designs to outfit our own defense fleet." He said a smile on his face, his servant likewise happy. "The designs are outdated by standard ship comparisons, but I bet the Caste master can come up with some interestingly new ships with them."
"I am quite sure!" Velor said with a rather pleased tone. "This is splendid news, I will be sure to inform all the castes that we shall have new technology at our disposal."
"Though, the fleet yards are in the old QIS sector. That's a bit of a walk from our world." He added slightly.

"I have done some reading in regards to the capabilities of the shipyards, I think that will not be a problem for long... but we will not speak of such things over a communication channel, after all, we are near the border." Velor stated as his mind went over some documents which he had previously browsed over. Hmm, it should be possible to move the construction facility to our system in no time.

It took Senator a second, but he then nodded. "I see..." He said simply. "Well, aside from those two things there isn't much else to report."
Velor gave a nod as he pondered for a moment. "Tell us, what are the people like there? Do they desire any material goods that we could provide? Also, could you do us the favor of forwarding us news reports which are available there? They would be quite helpful to us in understanding the Yamatai people."

Senator scoffed, "no sir." He said bluntly. "They have this universal computer system called PATHNON, it's apparently dispersed and concentrated in tiny robots and machines in the air, it can create images and audio, but it can also create objects." He makes a slight motion to helisho pet, "Take sapphire for example, her robe, the tray and the bourbon I'm drinking were all created out of thin air by this thing." He looked back at them. "I wouldn't hazard the notion they could replicate actual gems or minerals with this thing." Taking a drink, he paused to ponder his next answer. "The people are somewhat pleasant, though slothful, and there are an obscene ratio between those cat eared things and normal people." He said, "and I will try to accommodate you with the news."

"Also include information about other peoples... I would like to investigate any potential trade routes. Surely there must be some sort of need that exists, and I think we should attempt to fill it in as best we can." Velor stated before glancing to his sister for a moment, then back to the screen. "I think that concludes what I have to contribute to this communication, the Xiaah shall conclude." Velor stated with a smile.

Destiny shook her head slightly, but remembered what had happened from misunderstandings..."It is their way, do not condemn them for it."

"I will not my highness." Senator said with a nod, "Oh, I'm not sure how you should take this little tidbit, my lords, but I've heard rumors that Pirates are starting to resurface."

"Pirates? What are... pirates? Do you speak of thieves?" Velor attempted to recall the term 'Pirates' from the knowledge which was shared regarding Yamataian speech, but it did not come to mind easily.

"Unlawful brigands who loot and plunder others of their valuables, and sometimes of persons and the vessel itself. So yes, thieves." He said simply. "There are rumors that there's a pirate base somewhere outside Yamataian jurisdiction. And that the empire's having a slight problem with them preying on civilian, and even some military ships."

"Senator, I have an assignment for you. Observe the culture and understand it. This is to take precedence over any other assignment except for the most important. Whether we like it or not...." She looked to her brother as she trailed off her sentence, "We are a part of them now...We must start to understand them and begin to accept and join them in every way we can. We will come see you soon...And may the goddess shine her light on you and protect you."

Senator lowered his head and raised arms, shoulder width apart and palms face up. "Thank you for those words you're majesty. I shall make my best attempts at trying to understand these people, and I will routinely send you reports on my findings."

Destiny simply nodded and gave him a warm brave smile before she disappeared, the communications shut off as she slumped back into her chair.

OFF

A matter of a few days had passed since Velor and his sister spoke to their senator on Yamatai. During those few days, Velor had worked to coordinate an effort with his people whom were still on Lor, and even those whom salvaged the space above Lor to find any and all of their salvageable space craft and even ground vehicles which had been lost track of during the Moon Fall. Even though the task was a colossal one, the Lorath whom were assigned to assessing the numbers of the Lorath's fleet strength thankfully managed to come up with a set of numbers which represented the Lorath's current fleet size. As soon as those numbers were scraped together, they were sent along to Yamatai to fulfill their request for documentation of the fleet size that the Lorath had at their disposal.

After those days of work, Velor's workload on the station which had become a home away from home became quite routine. As a new day dawned on the station, Velor decided to make a stop by the station's operations center. After a short trip through the twisting corridors, Velor found himself in the station's operations center, where he promptly made his way to one of the seats placed in the center of the room. There were three seats, one for himself, one for his sister, and one for the station's commander.

Soon after Velor took his seat, he swiveled the seat to look to the stations chief of operations. "I'd like a report pertaining to the station's activities over the night, and I would like a report of today's current tasks which our salvage teams have chosen to work on.â€

ON: Kathra Station

The day had been quite busy aboard Kathra station, considering that in the earliest break of the Lorath morning, a taskforce of Yamatai vessels had finally made their appearance in the Lor system. During the majority of the day, the High Priest's activities were mostly coordinating medical, rescue, and salvage efforts. Now, with the coming of the night cycle aboard the station, Velor had taken the opportunity to claim a break to rest for the next barrage of tasks which would require his personal attention. He made his way from the station's operations center, to the royal suite, where he would still be able to monitor activities, while relaxing as best as possible. He arrived at the doors to the suite and strode in as soon as they opened.

Destiny too had had no rest at all the past few days since the meeting. She had been in constant movement around the station even at night, trying to ease her people's fears. I know what our ancestors went through...when they were pushed underground. Our exile may be shorter...but it is no less harder on my people. Even in her dreams she could hear the crying of the children, or the calling for family members. It hurt to listen to them, but it was rewarding to see some of the smiling faces from those that she helped. Now though, she was taking some peaceful hours of rest for herself. While the royal suite was rather lavish looking...Destiny was sleeping on a smaller bed. The scene her brother would be great with was a family of the shaman caste who had too many to stay in the normal rooms. Destiny had seen the problem earlier in the day, and instead opted for the Shaman's room, while they took hers. There were two large felines curled up at the bottom of her bed, with the family resting in her bed the children between the parents.

Velor placed his gloved hand to his mouth and coughed lightly. "Ahem... excuse me..."

The mother of the group shot up in the bed, the children stirring slightly though remained asleep. The woman looked a little fearful, already realizing who it was. She was quick out of bed, dressed in her leathers which caught a bit of her green hair which was about to her shoulder blades. "High priest Velor...I am sorry but... Oh we will leave immediately! I explained to the queen that we were fine in our room but she insisted...â€
