After coming back from commercials detailing the newest fashion in Yamatai, the opening titles for the the Yamatai Interstellar News Network appeared on all screens of those watching and the blooming kikyō flower of the Empire revealed its center before the image faded to that of a journalist sitting alone at a large desk with the backdrop of Kyoto behind her.
"This is Cassandra Roberts," said the chipper newscaster. "The Kikyō No Sekku Festival has begun! All across the Empire the festivities have begun!"
The visuals cut to that of Yamataians parading about around flower-adorned floats, getting their faces painted with the lavender kikyō flower, eating delightful foods in the street, and meandering about gardens while Cassandra Roberts went on.
"Kikyō No Sekku or Bellflower Day has been in effect since YE 35 and was begun by the Her Imperial Majesty, Empress Himiko, herself. It remains a holiday in which the symbolic flower that adorns our flag is celebrated as it coincides with the time in which it is in bloom. Parades in the flower's honor exist throughout the Empire, as one can see though YINN's footage of the events," Cassandra Roberts said.
The footage cut out and went back to Cassandra Roberts sitting alone in the studio. She pursed her scarlet lips and went on.
"Now, more about the Kuvexian war as it unfolds..."
