Psychological Characteristics
Personality: Jatsu is not very social, and usually tries to supress his emotions. He has an intense supiriority complex, and as a result has low expectations of those around him. However, he has respect for the chain of command and will follow the orders of a superior officer regardless of his personal opinion of them.
Likes: Computers (especially AI), alcohol (especially screwdrivers), video games.
Dislikes: Manual labor and other menial tasks, having to explain something more than once, listening to other people explain things more than once.
Goals: Design a revolutionary AI system.
History
As a Geshrin, Jatsu develpoped his mind more than he did his body. Ever since he was a child, he didn't have much faith in other people and preferred to interact with AI. Needless to say, in college he focused his studies on computer programming, especially AI. When an accident nearly took his life, he was transferred into a Yamataian body, then joined the Star Army so he could work with the most advanced technology known to exist.
Skills:
Communication: Jatsu is familiar with basic radio operation and procedures and can make transmissions to and receive transmissions from other characters through headsets, starships, power armor, and shuttles in both combat and non-combat conditions. He is fluent in English and has some knowledge of Japanese. He can speak and write both correctly and efficiently and can write reports, fill forms, issue orders under fire, etc. He has a basic knowledge of cryptography and can decipher simple ciphers.
Fighting and Physical: Jatsu received hand-to-hand combat training by way of loading all the necessary related knowledge into his memory, and then followed up with a rigorous training program. He is skilled and experienced in combat both in Yamatai-like conditions and in zero-gravity, with and without weapons. Weapons he is trained in include energy pistols, knives, power armor, grenades, and energy rifles.
Information Technology: Jatsu is capable of operating any computer system that uses the Kessaku OS, found on all Star Army starships. He is proficient in entering and searching for information, designing and implementing new software and AI, reverse-engineering and modifying existing software and AI, and can crack low-security systems.
Mathematics: Jatsu received extensive mathematics training, including algebra, trigonometry, calculus, dimensional theory, and quantum physics.
Medical: Jatsu has a very limited knowledge of first aid and cybernetics installation from an elective course he took in college.
Knowledge: Jatsu knows basic information about the major events of Star Army history and is familiar with most of the laws. He can quickly memorize any facts, as long as they are relevent to a topic that interests him.
Leadership: Though not very social, Jatsu is surprisingly good at speaking in public. He has always been very intelligent, with an IQ of 190 in his old body and 217 in his Yamatanian body. He is good at analyzing a situation and formulating a logical cource of action, especially when he's protecting something he considers important.
