Notes: Even though this ship featured in Luca's very prominent Lorath Matriarchy exploration plotline with multiple threads to show for it, I can't for the life of me find the ship's submission anywhere on the NTSE currently! As such, I'm willing to take it upon myself to see what this might need to be fleshed out with the remaining subsystems in order to be fully approved & canonized, and possibly used for another purpose down the line by surviving Lorath elements (such as those now a part of Nepleslia).

For the record @FrostJaeger , Zack is commenting on this thread as a player; if he thinks this submission would not be approved, then that is his opinion.

@Zack - The reason one may want to compress their volume in a spacecraft would be to reduce the ease of targeting and/or hitting it with weapons. Regardless of how light you are, a large target is easier to hit than a small target. Additionally, there may have been aesthetic reasons for compression of volume.


Now, both of you please settle down... or take your argument elsewhere; @paladinrpg already has a full plate NTSE-wise because of this monster of an article, and the stress of petty arguments on top of it won't help anyone.

Spacial compression interiors aren't really welcome in the SARP setting.

While I can’t really argue with the aesthetics, there aren’t any ‘small target’ bonuses for evasion in SARP and the dominant factor for evasion is distance to target.

Though, logically, I would think acceleration would also be super important.

Ultimately, the ship is a one-off, and a historical one at that Ethereal. I don't know Wes' reasons for not being open to the tech, but for the time being, we can best explain it not being pursued by main factions IC due to having various drawbacks.

Update: After conferring with the VIP's involved in the Val'ta's creation, I've decided to honor Luca's departing wishes that the ship be withdrawn from NTSE review at this time. It was always intended to be a one-off, unique ship that went forward off of GM & FM approval alone, and largely functioned on the "rule of cool" with its use of certain exotic technologies the setting had issues with.

This is not to say it cannot be reused in part in a newer, original design, by me or someone else however... and I feel that bringing it up alone has had the desired effect in raising awareness and discussion of where Lorath technology might eventually evolve into, and what may and may not be done in regards to things like spatial compression. Consider that a community service.
