History

Yumiko was born in Ketsurui no Iori, Yamatai at a Ketsurui Zaibatsu factory in YE 29. Here she spent her first months downloading her basic skills and being observed by factory personnel. During this time she discovered her gift in medical science. Soon after this she was given a permission to download additional skills to develop this talent and became skillful medic.
When she heard about Yamataian blockade of Nepleslia (YE 30), she desired to join the units in action and requested transfer to Fort Ready.

Skills

Communication: Yumiko is familiar with basic radio operation and procedures and can make transmissions to and receive transmissions from other characters through headsets, starships, power armor, and shuttles in both combat and non-combat conditions. Your character is fluent in English and Japanese. She can speak and write both correctly and efficiently and can write reports, fill forms, issue orders under fire, etc. She is also capable of telepathic communication.

Fighting: Yumiko received hand-to-hand combat training, followed up with a rigorous training program. She is skilled and experienced in combat both in Yamatai-like conditions and in zero-gravity, with and without weapons. Weapons she is trained in include energy pistols, energy rifles, knives, grenades and power armor.

Technology Operation: Yumiko is capable of operating any computer system that uses the Kessaku OS, found on all Star Army starships. She is proficient in entering and/or searching for information. She is skilled in using medical software commonly used in Star Army medical labs.

Mathematics: Yumiko received basic mathematics training, to including up to algebra and trigonometry.

Medical and Science: Yumiko trained heavily in first aid and combat lifesaving. She is able to use her skills in the surgery room as well as in the battlefield. She knows how to treat patients experiencing shock symptoms. In case of urgent need, Yumiko can perform minor surgery, but she lacks further experience in this.

Biology: Yumiko studied the structure, function, growth, origin, evolution, and distribution of living organisms. She has quite a lot of data on botany, zoology, xenobiology, microbiology and ecology. While treating the wounds, Yumiko often uses her good knowledge in anatomy and physiology. She is, of course, capable of using common equipment such as microscope.

Survival and Military: Yumiko is basically trained in surviving dangerous situations or in hostile places. This includes lighting a fire, finding or constructing shelter, swimming, finding water and making it safer to drink. Military aspects include land navigation, signaling and camouflage. Yumiko is naturally interested in all skills that might come in handy after crashing on planetary surface or when staying in the enemy zone with minimal gear.

OOC Notes

I’m sure the text has some grammar mistakes and/or weird sounding sentences. Since I’m not a native speaker I’ll probably always write like this. You decide whether it’s ok with SARP or not.

Sounds like an everyday, rather sexy science medical officer. Skills seem alright, if only a little boilerplate (generic). That's actually alright.

As for the history bit and the blockade... I'm not sure if that's alright to use, but it's not my call. Wait until Kim or Doshii give this a look.

hmm... Looks pretty good, but, yeah, that is an immensely recent event, and I'm not even sure about everything that goes along with it.

Also, Fort ready is the perfect place to start for everybody. Don't worry about grammar quirks, everyone's got a couple, so long as it doesn't hinder our understanding and isn't painful to look at, we'll be fine.

thanx for the feedback guys. it wouldn't really be a problem to rewrite the part about the blockade, but if it's ok to leave it there, it'll be even better..

The only problem I see is that Fort Ready is a training facility, so if you go to Fort Ready, you would want to edit the part about a previous training facility out. The Fort is essentially boot camp, which is useful for new members to the SARP.

If you are interested and joining, please post in this thread.

About the bio itself, I mentioned the above since going to training, seeing the blockade, and going to training again seemed a little off. Also, I doubt your training would be considered confidential, but that's not a big deal.
