RP: NSS Alliance [Marine JP group] Starship Troopers

Sighing in relief as he leaned back and dry washed his face, the young Lionheart mildly turned his head to look who had come through the bridge entrance. Seeing the Captain, he gave the CO a smile. "Plans eh?" he pondered before absent mindly pulling up a view of Nepleslia on his screen.

"Even though I was on the bridge the entire time as we were heading back, I was so busy worrying about an attack that I didn't much ponder the fact we were getting shore leave," the warrant officer explained before stroking his trimmed beard.

"The only thing I'll probably do is visit my old man planetside." he finally said after a brief pause. "The old coot is so busy going off-world on those civilian freighters that I wasn't able to see him after graduation," he explained with a small chuckle. "Hell, the way he is sometimes he probably still thinks I'm in the Academy," he snorted in small amusement.

Adrian was one the last off the ship. he screwed with his little music player as he walked, wondering just where he should go. Most of the marines were headed to a bar, which sounded like fun. Drinking away some of the nastiness he had seen was probably a good idea. Of course, he could just find a dealer and get something fun. He smiled at the thought and brainstormed on who was around before remembering that he had to be back at the ship in a couple hours for training. As much fun as a sim while tripping on acid sounded like, he doubted the others would find it too amusing. He sighed and fell in behind the rest of the marines, pumping the volume on his headphones to drown out the marines' babble.

After putting it's clothing back on Valo made it's way to the engineering bay. making it's way into room Valo looked around to see if any engineers were currently on duty.

"Actually.." He tossed the finished cigarette from in between his middle and pointer fingers to the side, watching the curly ribbon-like smoke that came from the burning end as it drowned to death in a puddle nearby. "Im gonna head on over and visit someone...Fian, make sure John doesn't do anything too stupid." Ran handed Fian and John some money to cover for the drinks he promised them, and took off running in another direction.

Where he thought he'd be was in a warm apartment with his woman. Where he actually ended up was several meters away from a funeral procession in some dirty, small graveyard, a throw-back to past methods of burying the dead. The gravestone read "Angela Takami", and bore the teardrops of the many family and loved ones that attended. "Fucking shit..." He sighed, sitting on a random piece of gravestone and taking a long drag from his cigarette, ignoring the disrespect that he was showing towards the dead. "You'd think with our advances in technology, terminal diseases would have been taken care of.." He carried on his conversation with the tombstone in front of him, looking back as the funeral procession walked off. "I guess the bitch couldn't wait long enough." He sighed, walking off.

Several hours later, he was in some dusty bed in some moldy room of some dirty part of town with some worn-out, Neko hooker. "Fuck, you'd better be clean, bitch." He shooed her out of the room when he was done with her, refusing to pay the sum of money she said her services were for.
He sat there on the bed, half-naked, as the chill from outside entered the room and froze his skin, despite the cigarette that hung from the corner of his mouth. "Ah, fuck..." Was the only thing he said in reference to the death of yet another little fling with some woman.

Alcohol, Cigarettes, Hookers...what other ways can I wast e my money..

A Driker, RazealK and Fian JP

Fian Vel Steyr held on to the few notes that the sergeant pushed into his hand in a stunned silence. He never liked bars, the peace there is just as viotile as the alchohol (In which he can take very little off). Heaving a sigh, he turned to face John. "You know I kind feel safer with the sarge around."

John looked around the landing site and then sighed "Geez man...what are we doing here again?"

At that moment a hatch leading from the mechanics bay opened on the lower portion of the ship as a large hand reached out. Valo's large frame dropped from the ship as he landed on the ground with a heavy thud. Reaching up and closing the hatch Valo turned to see the two men standing outside the ship. It lifted its left hand "Greetings."

John raises an eyebrow he was a bit startled at first "Um yeah... Hi there... Big guy..." He then turns to Fian "Um... Yeah... What are we doing with the giant killer toaster?"

Valo made his way around to where the two were standing. "I have detected a large series of soldiers that are no longer in the vicinty of this vessel. I am unable to monitor the health of this men at such distances"

The Vel Steyr was gently surprised by the Custodian's guesture, but then again after being around Elsae for such a long period of time his encounters with the 3rd kind gradually became less shocking. "I dont know..." He replied to John. Throughout the entire journey he viewed Valo as just an odinary bot, but thinking about Elsae and Valo's wave something in him clicked. "Um... I think we could use an extra hand."

John sighed, and then walked up to the bot. "I guess your coming with us blenderhead." He then turned his head back to Fian. "So what's our destination?"

Valo tilted his head. "My cranium contains no such tools. It would be illogical to put such a device there."

Fian smiled. "Actually we just need an arm each to hang on when we get too stoned, how far could you drag us?"

Valo turned his head to face Fian. "While this body is currently decommisioned from combat. It is fully capable of lifting large machinery, thus it can be concluded that you could be carried nearly any distance traveled."

"Good hear that Valo could not enter combat Oh thank the gods... Wait... How tore up are we gonna get?" John asked worriedly, while flashing at look at the Vel Steyr.

Valo gave a simple nod. "This is correct. This unit is not permitted to enter combat unless ordered or to preserve the well being of crew members."

"Well I know a good place where they serve the best booze around town, its not very far from here." He patted his shirt pocket instinctively. " The shit is limited and we might have to fight for it, but didnt we just win a battle back there?" Fian 'heh'ed.

"Right this way." Fian pointed and started walking without waiting for a reply.

Valo immediatly followed without any objections.

Razealk follows Fian to the bar, sighing. I sure hope this ends well...

He let loose a heavy sigh, watching the tendrils of smoke from his mouth reach out to the window before him, only to be snuffed out by the cold breeze ripping through the run-down motel room. "I guess I should find the guys." He bent backward and felt the relief of his back popping, a sign that he was aging rather fast. "Maybe I should get some cybernetic augmentations or some technical shit..." He rolled his neck around, feeling it pop, accompanied by the same feeling of relief around the area. "Maybe a fuckin' pair of new eyes so I can qualify as a Sniper...if we've got any."

He sighed, reflecting on the comparatively small Nepleslian Army, compared to that of the Star Army of Yamatai or even that of Elysia, to a degree. "Fuck it. We're Planetary Infantry. Fuck them and their space samurai or all that other bullshit." He nodded quickly and grabbed the top of his uniform and beret, put them both on, and walked out of the motel to the most likeliest bar that John and Fian would be at.

Rico's grin wavered slightly as Ran gave the rest of the marines a quick good-bye as he dashed off. Sergeant Rui had always seemed like the type of guy Rico could get drunk with comfortably. However, after a few more minutes of walking, the large group of thirsty marines began to split off in different directions. It took Rico a moment to realize, but without Ran as a definite lead to a pub, a few of the bolder marines took charge of their own groups, leading them to where they believed the best drinks in town were being served. Rico quickly tried to decide which of these groups would be the best drinking partners.

"...ah, shit."

Out of the corner of his eye, Rico spotted Adrian wandering off into another direction, music faintly pouring from a small set of headphones in Adrian's ears. Rico quickly took actions to prevent such wandering, and slung his ever-popular arm over Adrian's shoulder.

"Whoa whoa, baby!" Rico said rather loudly, hoping his voice carried past the music pumping into Adrian's head. "You're going to wrong way buddy!" Rico swung his head around to find a group that hadn't gone too far. His eyes fell upon the Sub Lieutenant and Fian, walking with what appeared to be a service robot, in the direction to one of Rico's favorite pubs. Rico's smile widened once more.

"Come on, Endurain and the tin can have the right idea."

Adrian popped his headphones out of his head and smiled at Rico.
"I could use some happy juice. How're the drinks around here? Can't say I've ever really been around this area."

(Hooray! People posting!!)

"Where the fuck are they?" Ran recognized a few more Marines walking around the city, but most of them were in groups of two, and were probably all too drunk to hang out with him at the moment. "Well, fuck it." He sighed the last sentence, walking back to the NSS Alliance and barging into the bar closest to it, wondering if his squad mates were as lazy as him in thinking that the bar closest to the Alliance was the best place to go. "One bottle of Schnapps, please." He rolled his head around, seeing the clock indicate that their first day back has ended, and only one day remained until their shore leave was up.

Ignoring the label on the Schnapps that read "99 Proof", Ran poured himself a rather large glass, already smiling at the prospect of the buzz that he'll eventually be feeling. ...Just in case, he emptied the magazine from his service pistol that was at his waist and placed it in his left pants pocket, so that it'd be harder for him to hurt someone in any sort of drunken stupor. "Wonder if those fuckers in the Weltraumflotte drink this shit." He sighed as he felt the burning in what felt like the top of his stomach, warming him up. "Hardy bastards..."

BEER IS GOOD BEER IS GOOD AND STUFF

Chris' hopes of finding a male free area were of course unfounded. He eventually gave up in his search and decided the best bet would just be to find a place he could be alone and make his own food.

He stopped into a local supply store and picked up some spaghetti and sauce. While deciding on what to drink he caught himself in the liquor section. He hated booze; it was a drink men lusted over. He had never tried it himself because of this image, and he certainly didn't care for it now. However, with the way people talked about, and worshiped the drink, it seemed to calm their nerves and make them happy. So he grabbed himself a 6pack and left.

A Fian, John, Adrian and Rico JP

"Common Adrian, we're losin' them." Rico said, and hurried his pace to a jog, finally close enough to clasp his hand lightly on Fian's shoulder. "Hey there chief, got room for two more in your little party here?"

Fian turned around to face the new arivals, a smile appeared on his face as he recodnised the two as the newer additions to the squad. Not that it mattered anyway. "Of course! The more the merrier!"

John looks back at the two men. Damm, I thought you'd guys never show. Resting his gun against his shoulder, he looks ahead again, seeing the bar at the distance. "Well this sure does look like a friendly establishment" He murmured.

Adrian caught up with the others and smiled at them. "So mates, what's on the menu tonight? Schnapps? Perhaps some vodka?"

"A drunken haze and a hangover, my dear Adrian." Fian heh-ed, noting the name of the soldier from his nametag. "Onwards to victory!" He said, pointing at the bar doors and false marching right through.

Adrian chuckled to himself. "Fian, I do so believe I like your thinking." He followed the soldier through the door.

Although the exterior of the bar was dull durasteel much like the rest of Nepleslia, the interior walls were made out of red bricks. Old fasioned lightbulbs instead of flourecence lights dimly illuminated the place. The place was large to accomodate the multitude of travellers comming in and out of the spaceport but in a sense with its old decor, a feeling somewhat like home. Fian made his way to the wooden barstools and gestured to the barkeeper.

Rico chuckled as he followed the others into the pub, and ran his hand through his hair in an attempt to fix it up in his usual way. There were a few patrons scattered here and there, but from the looks of the place, nothing too special. "Shi~t, this place sure has changed since I was last here."

"The usual, Bob." Fian requested while swiping his debit card across the scanner. He sat down and listened to what the rest were ordering, hopefully to gain some insight on his teammates.

John walked up to the bar, pounding on it and shouting out his order to the barkeep "Rum, straight and lots of it!" He ploped down onto the barstool, rubbing his head and smiling Finally a drink

Adrian walked up to the bar and thought a minute. "Give me 2 tumblers of Absinthe, A glass of ice water, and 3 shots of vodka." He rubbed his chin a bit. "Make that three tumblers of Absinthe. I don't even want to know the difference between myself and this counter in fifteen minutes."

Rico took a seat beside the others as he casually looked around the rest of the bar. Taking a deep breath, Rico let it rush out, and waved at the bartender. "Strongest shit you got in here chief. Aaaand..." Rico took a moment to scope out the selection on the counters behind the bar, and smiled as he made his choice. "...whatever the hell's in that green bottle. Big glass."

After about five mintutes of shuffling behind the bar, the chubby barkeep laid out the drinks before the soldiers. "Ere ya go!" He said heartily over the soft jazz that was playing. " A jug o rum, the 'usual', three thumblers of Absinthe- a glass of ice water and 3 shots of vodka, and one bottle of Nepleslian industrial grade cleaning alcohol."

"Some corporate mining folks drink that stuff." The barkeep said, pointing to the green bottle. "Be sure to knock you out untill your next departure."

John raised a brow at the cleaning alcohol and then downed his first mouthful of rum, the savor reminding him of the occasional drink he'd have with his friends back home. "Ahh..memories.."

Adrian laughed at Rico's mystery order. "That aughta go down pretty smooth, mate." He picked up one of the shot glasses and slammed it down. "I call a contest. Whoever vomits last becomes new god of Neplesia for a day."

"Yes to that!" Fian laughed. He raised his glass of a suspicious looking cloudy blue liquid.

"Rico, John, you guys in on this?"

Rico's face lit up as he heard the orders come around...and his smile drooped slightly as he heard the name of his mystery drink. The comments of his peers brightened him up a bit, and he poured a glass for himself. "Well, I wanted somethin' new...guess I got it!" Rico laughed again as Adrian proposed his contest, and raised his discolored drink to the others. "Sounds like a plan!" And quickly downed the glass.

John chuckled at the others " No thanks mates, I'd prefer to be semi-concious on the way back" He had learned from many a night of drinking before when to stop..lest he end up naked in an alley or some such thing.

Fian drank his in long gulps with a tensed face. After finishing the glass he wiped the froth from his mouth and laid the cup carefully back on the bar. All right, stay awake now, dont black out, you can do it.

Adrian grinned as he mixed some of the water into his absinthe. "John, ya pansy. Ah what the hell. Bottoms up, men!" He quickly lifted a tumbler and downed all of it, his eyes tearing up slightly from the intense burn.

John smirked and let out a hearty laugh. "You won't think so badly of me when I'm carryin ya back to the ship Adrian!" He took another gulp of rum and whipped his mouth with the back of his hand.

Rico put his glass down hard with a gasping breath as the liquid ran down his throat. Whatever he was drinking, it was strong, and it worked fast. Rico wanted to comment on the other's drinking...but realized he barely knew the lot of them, and decided to correct that. "Well boys, before I take another glass of this cleanin' fluid, I might as well introduce myself!" Rico put down the glass, and cleared his throat. "By the way guys, name's Rico if you haven't heard. A man should always know who he's drinkin' with!" Rico laughed slightly, the drink working it's way into his system.

The barkeep looked at each of the soldiers with a disapproving eye. Four drunkards usually meant unpaid overtime...

"Fian's the name." The Vel Steyr tilted his glass slightly towards his cleaning liquid drinking friend, his cheeks were getting redder. "One more round!"

... Plenty of mopping, cleaning and scrubbing of the eventual mess they will leave behind...

Adrian laughed out loud. "John, I doubt I'll know what a ship is after this." He downed another tumbler and a shot and felt a nice buzz in his head. He decided to heed Rico's request. "My name's Adrian, but you all knew that."

...But its business as usual as he repetedly poured out drinks for the four.

BEER IS BAD BEER IS BAD AND STUFF

Hours later he finally ended up at an apartment complex. Paying for a room Chris signed the guestbook as Kathleen Young. It felt good to put that name down on paper, and gave him a renewed sense of empowerment. That little display had such a good impact on such a crappy day that it was burned into his mind, forever a fond memory.

The room was the bare minimum; the bathroom and kitchen were together as well as the bedroom and living room. It however suited his needs as the stove proved to at least work as he made the spaghetti. Spaghetti never took long to cook and in moments Chris had a plate ready. Sitting down on the futon, he popped open one of the beers.

First he sniffed the beer, had someone been watching he probably would of looked silly like a rabbit sniffing a foreign object. It didn't smell that great, and made him a little standoffish. Unsure of the taste and not pleased by the smell, he hesitantly brought it to his lips. He took a quick sip and instantly the bitter taste met with his disgust.

It tasted purely awful, and it disgusted him to even have tried it. In a rage he threw the beer against the wall. A short pause took over then he stood up and kicked the table, his cybernetic legs breaking it apart and flinging it across the room. After the moment of anger passed Chris fell back on the futon.

"That stuff sucks."

"Well holy shit, isn't this just a cozy little sight?!" After several hours of searching from bar to bar , Sergeant Ran finally found the bar that the rest of his squad was hanging out in. He moved his mouth back and forth, letting the ashes fall from the cigarette cradled in the corner of his mouth. "Drink up, boys. We're heading back to the NSS Alliance tomorrow. But then, I guess you all got an early start."

He pulled the bottle of Schnapps he was drinking earlier and thoughtlessly started drinking it, loving the burning sensation he felt on the top portion of his stomach. "Keep drinking boys, 'cause we're gonna go on a little run afterwards to get ready for our training!!" A smile crossed his face, exclusive to someone who relished the idea of making young soldiers sweat.

Valo wasn't sure what to make of the situation. Many of the men drinking had just been seriously injuried and now they were putting large amounts of alchohal into their bodies.
