Breakfast with a few of the fleet's ranking officers finished for a change earlier than Akina had anticipated. Faye and Honoka had been in attendance, with the rest of the staff left to eat at the normal galley. As soon as it ended though, they had made their way to the power armour bay that the Taisho's special order had arrived to.

Once it was on, it looked a little amusing thanks to the shape her body was in, but the special paint marked it personally even though no one had the time to get to the rest of the markings she wanted. With the helmet under her shoulder, she nodded lightly at the aides. "Get suited up, and Honoka assemble the rest here we're going for practice."

"Hai Taisho," the now sober, and slightly hungover, Honoka replied with a slightly irritated tone. She was definitly not in the best of moods. The events of the night before were slightly blurry, but she could remember the important things, namely how Akina had gotten the aide continually more drunk.

Honoka wandered over to a Mindy as she sent out the message.

Attention Flag Staff. Please report to the primary power armor bay.
With the message sent to the appropriate staff members, Honoka removed the helmet from the armor. It was then that she remembered one little key fact about power armor: she'd have to be naked. She grumbled a bit more as she reluctantly removed her uniform, a light blush coming to her cheeks. She was sure this wouldn't be a problem for most neko, but then again, she wasn't born a neko. She was still a geshrin at heart. Honoka quickly clambered into her selected Mindy, so she'd have something covering her nakedness.

Arkase, upon recieving the message, quickly set aside his idle drawing.
Looking down at it, he winced. Nothing like the ship... he thought, Nothing at all.

But, forgetting it, he quietly made his way to the Power Armor Bay.
He blinked at seeing the Taisho in the Power Armor Bay, but covered it with a bow.
"Santo Hei Oshiro, Reporting." Was all that occured to him to say.
Probably screwing up. He thought, but didn't say.
Coming up from the bow, he glanced at the other power armor, but not long enough to take in details. Just a Mindy was what he saw, but, refusing to look like he was avoiding the Taisho's eyes, he settled them back on her.
Wonder if we are all to suit up, or if this is the other Bodyguard...

As the others were suiting up, or introducing themselves to the Taisho, in floated the diminutive medical officer, her nose pressed against a pad containing medical or scientific data, and quite oblivious to the other members of the crew. At least untill she flew smack-dab into the head portion of the Taisho's PA.

"Ooowwie! Who put that there!" The medic whined, glaring at the custom-painted PA as she floated back down to the ground. "Taisho, you shouldn't park your PA where people can crash into it!" With a huff, Setsuko removed her uniform without a second thought, and without a care, throwing it in the random direction of Honoka's PA as she crawled into her own MINDY.

~~~~~~
Yawning somewhat, the next to enter the PA bay was Aoyama Jessica, the Engineer. With an approving glance towards the Taisho's custom made Mindy, and a sigh at the medic's behaviour, the blonde glanced around the gathered armours. All of them were technically in her care, and the more damage they suffered during this "practice" bout, the more work for her after they were done.
But the PA's did not hold Jessica's attention for long, as she gave a long and meaningful smile towards the Taisho's aide, Faye, and winked. Blushing as she glanced around, the Geshrin-turned Neko stripped hurriedly and selfconciously before covering up her nudity with the Kylie Power Armour. Unlike the others, Jessica was forced to wear a Kylie due to her size and proportions.
You left early... Jessica told Faye mentally, the message laced with both humour and a hint of teasing.
Faye was in the middle of removing her uniform when Jessica gave her that look. A thick, noticeable blush formed over the Neko's entire face as she hurriedly removed the rest of her uniform. After she was nestled safely into a Mindy armor, she finally sighed in relief. Her mental reply to her new 'friend' was, Uhm... yes.. the Taisho needed me.. and... Her blush brightened, but fortunately, no one would be able to see while she was in the Mindy.
"Where is Haruto?" The Taisho asked as her systems came online, and some of the team began to have their weapons locked down. It was a simulation after all. Working through some of the systems of her MINDY 1H to make sure things were on schedule. Space outside the bay was shimmering, apparently the Nadare and it's group had begun moving towards somewhere else.
"I'll explain when everyone arrives. Good morning."
'Right here, Teisho-sama.'
Almost as she was speaking, Haruto marched over from a corner of the bay. He was already in a Daisy, the helmet cradled under his arm. 'I made sure to come here airly, so there would be no waiting,' he said with a smile, a little shrug, and studious care to not look at the others changing.
Arkase sighed, and taking Haruto's appearance as an exit, he quickly moved away to get into one of the spare Daisy's.
I'll have time to talk later... He thought, while he stripped - carefully folding his clothes around his necklace to protect it - and got into his Daisy PA quickly to avoid the cold.
The Taisho remained standing in front of everyone, deciding she had them waiting long enough she called the group to attention. Once in formation she called for them to stand easy and nodded. "Good morning. While forward scout fleets are being sent through the gap, we will be close by at the freshly moved Spirit City. That is to say, near it. In a short few minutes we will return to normal space at the South Gate. A majority of the ships present will be training their power armour wings, and that includes twelve of them from the Nadare." Stopping to let the scale of the operation soak in, Akina adjusted the helmet under her arm.
"Given there is importance to every soldier Taisho or Santo Hei be able to fight like this, and that we will be a team in the tourney someday, we're going to practice and build team cohesiveness. I hope to simulate several different possible events for review, and pioneer some I have thought of. Ladies and gentlemen, we will be going inside the great Southern Nebula. All of your weapons have been deactivated but that should not stop you from registering hits with the beta program that has been loaded. If your armour is down for some reason for a game, respect that and wait until you are 'alive' again. If you get into trouble, a setting oriented to proper galactic east will always be available."
"Are there any questions?"
Piping up from inside her PA, Setsuko glanced over to the Taisho, the medic raised her arm and waved, desperate to attention, and managed to wham the MINDY's arm into her closest companion.
"Taisho? Will we be allowed to dissect those who die?" The overzealous medic asked, her armour shifting as if the runty medic had little controll over the mechanical contraption. Which of course couldn't be. All Nekovalkyrja instinctively knew how to operate PAs.
"Only after you revive them into something else. And no killing each other this is practice, if someone dies in the competition your team is disqualified." Akina paused, waiting for more questions only for a brief moment. "Prepare to egress." A klaxon sounded in the bay, and the thousand or so other Nekovalkryja inside sealed their helmets on, the same thing the bloated Taisho did.
With all the MINDY 1-H systems operational, Akina linked the armours in her squad and turned to face the launch point, it highlighted as a vector to the rest of the flag staff, and with a faint sign the ship returned to normal space. From their side of the vessel, it was clear just how close to the nebula really was. "Off deck." Her voice piped into the armours, the red support unit rising off first. Already the wing they were with began to pour from the bay and to their assigned exercises, and a Nozomi, unbeknown to all but Akina was drifting near the nebula and sometimes into it, depositing something in the beautiful nebular gas.
"Roger that, Ma'am. And if anyone of you manages to dent up my PA's, I'll make sure your quarter's lighting will be malfunctioning for a month." Jessica joked over the communications chanel as the Engineer's massive DAISY began to follow the Taisho's own PA out of the hangar and into space.
~~~*~~~

"Aww! That's no fuuuuunnn!" Setsuko wailed, her MINDY appearing to droop like a sulking child, and the Medic's voice certainly sounded like one. But without further coment, the Medic's PA also began to follow the CO, not wanting to miss out on the fun she imagined was to come.

"Hai." Honoka's armor lifted off the floor of the bay, and drifted after the Taisho. Orders were orders, no matter how much one was semi-playfully irritated at the Taisho, she was obligated to follow. There had to be a way to get back at Akina. There just had to.

The darkness outside had been transformed. The massive exercise taking place had broken into the first stage of drills. Something was different, however, and anyone old enough to remember the traditional power armour 'swarm' wouldn't have called it that. Akina and the lead officers had two main points for that day: mixing with the enemy that wouldn't shoot at their own armours and circumventing that altercation to let strike teams slip past, and something more experimental.

The Taisho's team, however, was moving for the nebula to the galactic west. "The first exercise will be a simple targeting calibration and test of the dummy software." Flashing beacons came up against the visual field, and on some of the other spectrum options.

"Twenty targets, all will need to be painted by your ranged weapons. Some of them are coded only to deactivate when a certain hit is registered. However.." Akina paused, "They are also going to move to simulate enemy power armours. Your on board computer will learn from your actions. Again, are there any questions?"

Arkase drifted at the back of the formation, and, watching the targets begin to wink into existence on the visual field he smiled.
"Hai, Taisho, can I start firing?" he thought a moment, and then laughed.
"'Better run faster, beautiful.'" He murmured off the radio net.

The whole training exercise was straight forward, so no questions came from Honoka. She floated in formation, following the Taisho, waiting for whatever cue there was to get fake blasting at the targets.

Back to her evil scheme of somehow getting the Taisho back. Honoka grumbled as she thought through her hang over. She guessed that space probably wasn't the best place to try and get back, but that couldn't stop her from plotting malevolently for once they got back on the ship.

"All right. Proceed. I'll call break." The small detachment of power armours moved even closer to the edge of the gas, enough where it dominated one section of the view. The beacons against it started to read with enemy telemetry. Any of the advanced types they were bound to see from any government, and those replicated from MINDY and some scant older models. All and all, there were about 48 drones, but half of those were running active. The others remained.

Inside her H-1, Akina murmured a soft apology to her girls for all the jostling around she was going to put them through despite her faith in the system to keep her feeling more or less stable.

"You may clear general formation when you make your first hit. Begin." The Taisho passed out a deep breath, and fired. Nothing resonated from her armour, but the small program status indicator showed a hit. She switched weapons, and watched with amusement as overlays of the targets swirled around them.

Arkase grinned, aimed, locked and fired a three round burst at the closest target, switched to the next closest without checking for a hit, and fired another burst.
"'This is my space now!'" He said over the comm, attempting a voice impression of an action star, but failed miserably. He hoped no one had been paying attention to that.

Honoka's home was the bridge of a starship, not in a PA on the frontlines. But, that is how the situation has presented itself in the training exercise, unfortunatly, so Honoka did her best to make do with what she was given.

"Hai, Shimizu-Taisho."

Aiming and 'firing' a few shots towards the targets with the beta program, the aide hoped her aim wasn't too bad off. She rose up and out of the formation, though she stuck close to the Taisho, since in a more realistic scenario the Taisho would be the most important person to protect. Besides that, Honoka was the aide, so she should be aiding Akina.

"Roger, Shimizu-Taisho."

Aoyama was quick to follow orders, and since this was not her first time in a PA, and had a good bit of experience with them before her being transferred into a Nekovalkyrja body, targeting and painting the targets came as no difficulty. Especially now that she possessed the nigh instinctive skills of the Neko body.

~~*~~

The good doctor however, did not do as well as the other team members. Sure she had the instinctive skills, but that didn't mean she knew how to put them to good use. In fact, in the first volley of "fire" she sent towards her targets mostly went far off target, but by sheer random and lucky coinidence, some of the "rounds" actually managed to hit.

"Woah! Didyouseethat!? Ihititihititihitit!!" The medic screamed, so proud of herself inside the suit as she seemingly moved around at random, having forgotten how Zero-G affected her movements. The scientist-medic spent far too much time cooped up in some sort of science or medical station for her own good.
