RP: YSS Heartbreaker [Mission 0] To Go Even Further Beyond

"Para- oh."

Miho had realized the truth of the matter just a few seconds too late. And now it was just down the hall, staring her in the face.

She'd never seen a Mishu before. Miho had read the files on them, certainly. Even seen pictures. But seeing the nasty creatures, face-to-face? An entirely new experience.

Miho's drones flew back to her sides, filling the four corners of the hallway before laying down surpressive fire. She didn't think. She didn't panic. She switched to heavy-fire on her Sylph and launched grenade-like energy blasts into the swarm while her feet were frozen in place.

She didn't think about the danger. She didn't think about getting to safety. She didn't think.

Entrance

It didn't take more than a split second for things to register in Rin's mind when the small size and speed of the foes streamed into her sensors, the first one out the gate wriggling at her feet after connecting ineffectively. "Parasite swarm!" she called out over communications, the harsh words rolling off her tongue easily. The XO of the Heartbreaker knew these worms well, and was all too eager to send them to oblivion -- she literally crushed the miniature Mishhuvurthyar under her Mindy's Zesuiaum boot before unloading into the oncoming swarm with everything she had alongside Miho's Sylph, giving the mini-Neko a firm nod. Her 50mm Gauss shoulder cannon fired a tungsten carbide shell right into the heart of the rushing beasts to break them up, while she unleashed her standard-issue LASR in fully automatic mode, her enhanced CIES computer trying to make every round as precise as possible against the sheer numbers of targets. The combat veteran did this all without any hesitation; she pulled no punches in combat, it seemed, as spent shells and purple aether lit up the corridor.

Meanwhile, Rin fired up her forearm barrier on her off-hand and used it to deflect and sear those worms that she could not annihilate at range, making sure that there was no gap for additional creatures to make it through to the vulnerable crewmembers. The Medic and Yjara were her primary concern, and another strike to either could be life-threatening, or worse yet, compromise their minds. Her drones continued to give supporting fire and screen them as best they could.

Meanwhile, from beyond she could see the next logical step of the enemy assault shambling into view, and time was critical to try to stem the tide before they were overwhelmed. "Heisho... Sniping position! Zombies incoming!" Rin ordered, as she loaded a LASR-SLAG Shrapnel round and unleashed it into the swarm to clear the line for Matonaka to take a shot down the hallway unobstructed.

"Acknowledged, Engineering. Bring the engines back on line and begin diagnostics." The Captain waited on the Bridge for results from Kamatari as the engineer settled into his home away from home. Ochiko reappeared as she was questioned, the stack of cushions starting on top of a nearby console and tilting to one side like the stalk of a flower, leaving her bobbing slightly in front of him. She used her fan to hide her expression once more. "Oh no, then you'd be Buta-chan~" She giggled. "But-a Kama-chan just cooks the tonkatsu, yes?" With those puns dispensed, she appeared to topple off her stack of cushions, flickering out of existence before she could hit the ground.

Entrance

Yumi moved to cover Yjara and the fallen medic, focusing on shooting down any other parasites that made their way past the blockage Miho and Rin had formed. The Medic's screams were silenced as she passed out, the writhing worm roughly yanked free and shot, just like the one that had bored into Yjara's shoulder. Blood was pouring from the wound, her arm hanging nearly useless at her side, as she fumbled through the Medic's scattered supplies. After locating a Star Army standard issue pain reliever and managing to inject it near the gash, the scientist felt the incredible pain dull to something more manageable. Although the Neko's wound looked worse, Yjara was losing blood far faster, and was in far more danger of dying on the spot if she didn't act while she was still able.

As the ineffective first parasite was squashed under her boot, Rin unloaded on the swarm following it down the hallway. Combined with Miho's own firepower and drones, the battle had turned rather one sided, after the initial surprise attack. Only one or two of the flying worms managed to escape the corridor of death the two created, quickly dispatched by Yumi, even as she used her free hand to drag the Medic towards the entrance. She dropped the Neko and returned at Rin's order, moving past the two to get a good look down the hallway. There were holes and gashes in the ceiling and walls, pipes blasted apart, lights busted. Chunks of parasites littered the area.

A few of the faster zombies had been unlucky enough to rush into the initial chaos, as were already in pieces on the floor. Others seemed to have a bit more intelligence left, taking cover and only peeking back out when things quieted down. As the sniper began to line up shots, she transmitted the zoomed in images of the still distant creatures to Miho and Rin. Neko, all of them, in various stages of transformation or decomposition. Each wearing tatters of Star Army uniforms, which the Mini would immediately recognize from her earlier searches as being in use when Uesu's Fleet launched.

The drones began returning to the main entrance room, and soon Baek and Kyou abandoned their post to attempt to assist the two unarmored crew members. Just in time to cry out in surprise, as more zombies began to emerge from the other opening on that side of the main room, circling around while the initial wave had occupied everyone in that first hallway.

Entrance

Rin felt the sudden rush of adrenaline through the SPINE connection as she felled the Parasite swarm converging on their position with great efficiency... it wasn't like the older armors with pleasure stimulation upon kills, but it nevertheless reminded her of a familiar place on the war front that she had been away from for too long. Thankfully she hadn't let her skills get too rusty.

As one of the zombies went down in front of her and Miho, she paused only for a moment to let her weapon cool off and bend down and inspect the kill, as Yumi's feed also streamed into her HUD. The aether-scarred remains of Nekovalkyrjas decomposing underneath their antique SAoY uniforms... this was evidence enough they were on the right track with their mission. It was unfortunate for everyone it had to come to this violent way of discovering it though, as the stench of burnt synthetic flesh filled the corridor and dried slime and hemosynthetic fluid now coated her Mindy in a murderous sanguine coat of paint. She grabbed the still intact rank pin of the downed zombie like some war trophy and hastily stowed it away in her Butt Pack for later analysis... it would likely be possible to trace it to one of the ships in her classified mental database.

The VCMAD drones had already begun retreating on their own via Ochiko no doubt, so Rin's CIES guided them back in the safest route she could deduce from the available pathing data. They had valuable samples that had to be preserved and analyzed. Now to get her crewmates out. "We've got what we came for. All units, fall back to the landing pad!" came the officer's authoritative tone over the comms, as the news of another wave flanking them was announced with a surprised cry from the other two infantry men in the loading area. "Baek-hei and Kyoufuu-hei, each of you get the wounded back to the Heartbreaker immediately since their AMES are compromised. Matonaka-heisho and Nakamura-hei, continue to cover the retreat. I will seal the new attack corridor off."

Hoshitomo-shoi waited until everyone started to move out, before turning and engaging her thrusters to move over quickly to the new zombie flashpoint, meanwhile sliding open the panel that covered her shoulder missile launchers. "Some things are best left buried," she remarked with finality, as her 50mm gun shot echoed out into the foyer, putting a smoking hole in the first advancing zombie Neko's torso. Then the salvo of 10 MSAP rockets came barreling from her armor, firing at the opening in an arc shaped spread that struck the ceiling and walls simultaneously, causing them to collapse on top of the zombies clawing their way through and blocked the hallway from further incursions with a pile of largely impassable rubble.

As the dust from the attack settled, her LASR rifle finally came off full-auto cooldown with about half of its ammo left, and the Minkan caught a momentary breath to survey the situation.

Sayoko raised an eyebrow in surprise - the equivalent of a double-take for the SAINT agent - as Rin's order for retreat came in over the comms. That's....quite unexpected for an 'abandoned' installation. I wonder what the away team has run into...." thought the young Neko as she disconnected herself from the cybernetic embrace of her SPINE connection and turned to face the Captain. "Tsukisaki~Taii, Hoshitomo~Shoi has issued a retreat order to the ground forces, though the away team has apparently accomplished its objective. Shall I open a channel to them?"

Bridge

The Captain's scowl had deepened noticeably as data from the drones and Mindys streamed back thanks to Ochiko. She looked up from her display as one of the Neko on the Bridge turned to address her. "No. Hoshitomi-Shoi has not contacted the Heartbreaker, so she must be confident that she can conduct this retreat without further advice or assistance. We will continue to monitor and observe." Her eyes flickered aside as she glanced at a new message from the MEGAMI. "...considering our senior Medic was injured, someone else will have to assist the wounded. Santo Hei, report to the Shuttle Bay and prepare to receive the Away Team. Ensure neither of the injured crew members die before they reach the Medbay, Santo Hei."

With that the workload on the Bridge was divided between Tsukisaki, Ochiko and one rather stressed Neko, as Sayako was sent off to welcome the others home.

Entrance

Baek and Gunshin retreated from the flanking zombies as Rin inserted herself before the advancing horde. The Medic was scooped up as delicately as possible by a Mindy as SeonJi stowed her weapon, hurrying back out of the wide open main door and onto the planet's surface. Kyoufuu was right behind, one arm around Yjara's waist and the other projecting a shield to cover their retreat. The remaining drones made a tidy little line next to them, still recording and scanning even as they motored away from the conflict.

Yumi remained silent as she held her position, the explosions just a corridor away ruining her aim for a moment, but she compensated quickly. The hallway was clogged with bodies by this point, while the other was filled with rubble. The air thick with dust and debris on top of the metal-tinged atmosphere. The sniper backed out of her hallway alongside Miho, the two meeting up with Rin after the Shoi finished redecorating.

Miho had made sure to make some memory "snapshots" of the zombies she did see before the retreat went into full force., if only to catch whatever nametags and ranks that she could spot for later filing. Her wing-drones stayed in the other hallway, though at the entrance so they could be retracted quickly, and continued to surpress any remaining zombies that dared get closer.

Her suit's hands fell to her sides, the front projectors emitting steam from the boiled frost crystals that'd formed in the short time they were outside.

"Shoi, will we bother with eliminating all hostiles on foot, or will we leave everything to the Heartbreaker?" she asked, cocking the Sylph's head.

YSS Heartbreaker, Bridge

As she exited the Bridge via the portside door, Sayoko sent a terse message to Tsukisaki-Taii.

Code:
Acknowledged, Taii. En route to Medbay for supplies, then Shuttle Bay. ETA is 3 minutes, thirty seconds.

Medical Bay

Entering the Medical Bay, the SAINT Neko gathered up what she could, namely two Type 31 Medical Kits and a single Type 32 Trauma Kit - briefly cursing the irony of the medic being the one to get injured while doing so- then departed mere moments later towards the Shuttle Bay.

Corridor

After placing the assorted Kits on the deckplate, Sayoko, having since equipped a mask, strode over to the atmospheric controls for the Shuttle Bay, where she activated the Bay's forcefield and 'cycled' the compartment's atmosphere (purging the toxic fumes of UX-19 III, then pumping fresh oxygen in from the environmental systems). The sooner I can my treat my injured comrades, the better. This'll save me a few precious seconds.

Once the Shuttle Bay's atmospheric pressure had returned to normal, Sayoko retrieved the Medical Kits and proceeded through the hatchway to the Bay itself, taking in the barren charcoal-grey vista outside the protective barrier of the Heartbreaker's forcefield. Not exactly much in the way of scenery...though camouflage, at least, wouldn't be terribly difficult.... thought the SAINT agent as she gazed out into the (relatively) featureless expanse.

Shuttle Bay

As she pondered the tactical implications of a monochromatic landscape, it occurred to Sayoko that she could be even more prepared if she knew what injuries to expect. Using the suit's built-in radio, the Neko opened up a channel to the Bridge. "Bridge, this is Inukai-Hei in the Shuttle Bay. I've completed my preparations; could you please put me through to the Away Team so that I know what kind of injuries to expect?"

Entrance

As the team's withdrawal was now safe for the moment, Rin turned her tall Mindy's head towards the smaller Sylph mecha. "If it were entirely up to me, we could easily do so. But Tsukisaki-Taii has given us strict orders that we are not a strike team, rather a scouting force. If the risk is not worth the reward, we must move on. The data we have gathered is sufficient; let us regroup at the Heartbreaker for now until the final decision is made."

The teal-haired officer kept her LASR at the ready for any zombies stragglers, her adrenaline still running high from the firefight. She slowly withdrew with Yumi and Miho, covering the others return to the foyer loading area and eventually the landing pad where relief was waiting in the form of Inukai-hei. She also finally opened a channel to the ship: "Away team to Heartbreaker... we are returning to landing zone after coming under unexpected assault from the zombified remains of Uesu's crew. Threats have been largely neutralized. Prepare to receive two injured members: Yjara-san and our Medic have both suffered Parasite attack flesh wounds; the latter is unconscious, and the former is bleeding heavily."

Yumi stopped on the landing pad and stayed completely neutral for the most part, she'd seem some things so this was in no way anything different. Once they stopped at the landing pad and Rin began to make contact with the ship, Yumi turned and pointed towards the way they just came, keeping her aim towards that direction to ensure nothing came creeping up behind them while Rin talked.

Shuttle Bay

After a short delay, Sayoko was added to the Away Team's conversation by Ochiko, just in time to hear Rin's report on their situation. With the supplies she'd grabbed, Sayoko was well prepared indeed. Baek and Gunshin were first into the ship, hurrying with their damaged cargo. SeonJi carefully laid the Medic out on the backboard that had been produced from the Trauma Kit, the Neko's midsection torn open, metallic dust glittering in blood where her AMES had been torn apart. Yjara's injury wasn't as severe, but she wasn't as durable as the Neko, either. Kyoufuu had dropped her shield to carry the scientist in, placing her back on her feet with the injured shoulder facing toward Sayoko for her to inspect.

"The Medbay has been prepped to receive wounded. The Neko gets the tube and the ABMU can handle the other one." A transmission from the Medbay itself played over the Shuttle Bay's speakers, as Inukai remembered spotting another crew member in the Medbay tending to the machines while she was gathering supplies. She had all the materials she needed to stabilize the two, at least long enough for them to make it to the Medbay. If she moved quickly. Gunshin and Baek moved off to get out of their armors, knowing they'd be needed to carry the wounded off soon enough.

Yumi was the last one on the surface, as Rin and Miho would pass her to head inside the ship. She could see Skirnir's fighter circling over them, keeping watch as well. Nakane's repairs seemed to have taken hold, as everyone could feel the Heartbreaker's engines humming back to life. It was time to go.

YSS Heartbreaker, Shuttle Bay

Damn.... thought Sayoko - having just finished putting on sterilized gloves a moment earlier - as the battered Away Team returned from its brief exploration of the (seemingly) deserted Mishhuvurthyar base. Wincing as she saw the massive gash in the Medic's stomach, the SAINT Neko leapt into action. I'll be damned if I fail a mission as important as this one!

Grabbing a pre-programmed Medical Scanner from one of the Type 31s, Sayoko injected Yjara and the Medic with diagnostic nanites via their suit's emergency ports - both of which luckily had avoided being damaged during the team's brief-but-intense firefight - , then applied booster patches to each of them, taking care to keep the patches away from the injuries themselves.

That taken care of, Sayoko issued orders to SeonJi and Kyoufuu - then, noticing them pass through the Bay's protective barrier, Miho and Rin - while she took a closer look at Yjara's injured shoulder - the Medic's condition being obvious enough to take in with a single glance. "Shoi, Heis, unsuit and start cutting away their AMES; once you're done, we'll move them to the Medbay. Ochiko, inform whomever's in there to have the MTBU online and prepared for usage." Diagnostics in place...now onto the next step.

Returning her focus to Dust's mangled shoulder, Sayoko belatedly realized that there wasn't much point in observing the wound - for the blood oozing from it had obscured any indicators of depth and scale - and chastised herself. Pay attention, you baka...and why are you just standing there? MOVE, damn it! Every second you waste now lowers their chances of survival - and you wouldn't want to disobey the orders of a superior, right?

Redoubling her efforts, Sayoko next retrieved an internal disinfectant and a hemosynthetic injector from the nearest Type 31C; after dashing over to the Medic, she injected the latter (via the previously-mentioned e-port) and sprayed the former over the fallen Neko's torso, then returned to the aforementioned Medical Kit and got out the external disinfectant spray, which was then used on both the exposed areas of both AMES-garbed figures. Disinfection completed....wait a moment...

Sayoko was rather surprised when Yjara didn't react to the iodine-based agent coming into contact with her shoulder - she knew first-hand that it, to quote her sensei, "hurt like hell." Strange....perhaps the Medic gave her something for the pain before being incapacitated?

"Dust..-sama, have you or the Medic taken any medications?" asked the SAINT operative as she reclaimed the Medical Scanner from its location on the deckplate, adding "And how long were the parasites in direct contact with the two of you?"

Yjara had been the whole way to the ship remembering the Mishu's invasion on Tatiana, having being rescued to the Yamataian facilities, she still spectated some victims of the Mishu near the location and witnessed the ruthless behavior they take on a combat.

Shuttle Bay

"What a nice way to begin a mission..." The scientist said to the Neko while being examined, with a slight grin and some uncomfortable feel on her voice while watching the procedure to try to be conscious.

"I injected some... analgesic for the pain that was on the Medic's Kit, I guess with the pressure I injected too much or I am just too used to feeling pain... as i can feel some discomfort around that area" she replied to the operative's question, a bit light headed.

If the wounded that were carried into the bay first showed the ferocity of the surprise attack, then Rin's power armor that strode up the ramp from the landing pad undeterred alongside Miho's Sylph displayed to all the quick and decisive response mounted to it. Slime and dried fluids covered the Mindy's previously immaculate factory paint job, and a significant dent marred the chestplate where the Parasite had struck her at full speed. The XO of the Heartbreaker took a minute to scan the bay, and, seeing the preparations for treatment of the expedition's causalities were well above her expectations, gave a solid nod in the direction of Sayoko. "Good work on the triage, Inukai-hei," she complimented the Neko briefly on her setup, though the order to assist in cutting cut away the AMES suits caused the woman to seriously quirk an eyebrow for a second under the armored visor. Good thing it was due to the medical emergency and Rin let it slide, otherwise the veteran officer would have taken a degree of offense that such a young Neko was telling her what to do.

On the way to de-armor herself, Rin also sent the final commands for the CIES of the Leader Support Module to begin downloads of all relevant mission data to Ochiko for archiving, just in case it had not done so already, and also that the fleet of several drones that proceeded her now filed into the Drone Bay for maintenance and securing of the valuable samples they had on board. Once that was completed, she removed the helmet of the Mindy as its torso split open, revealing the fair-skinned Minkan's muscular, naked form which stepped out carefully onto the cold deck and reached for a towel quickly to wipe the sweat away before grabbing her clothing and accessories from where she left them and changing.

Hoshitomo-shoi hadn't quite finished zipping up her white paneled Type 35 Duty Uniform jacket, the double breasted portion hanging open as she searched through her things for something with a useable blade. Then she recalled the Type 31 Multi-Tool packed into the Survival Kit which would do the trick, and this sent her hurrying back over to where she parked her Mindy to produce said tool. There was no time to waste as the teal-haired officer kneeled down near to the Medic and began using the knife to pierce and tear the AMES polymer shell and the scissors to cut stubborn portions away. Eventually the Neko was freed from its constricting liner so that she could be better treated down in Medical when they moved her.

Seeing the nasty stomach wound from the parasite up close, Rin frowned, wondering what the Captain would have to say about this.

The Medic was responding well, all things considered. Her bleeding had slowed, blood vessels clamping themselves closed when possible. The surge of extra hemosynth speeding up her natural healing, a bit more color in her cheeks. Yjara was looking much rougher in comparison. Pale, light-headed, wobbly. She realized her glove on that injured arm was filled with blood...up to the elbow, it seemed. That probably wasn't a good thing. The PMS was telling Sayoko just how much blood the Nepleslian had lost, flashing warnings at her rapidly.

The five remaining drones cheerfully puttered into their own private bay, the robotic arm starting to return them to their storage slots. Once Yumi was inside the ship began to lift off, escorted off the surface by Skirnir's fighter. Baek and Gunshin reappeared, mostly dressed, hefting up the backboard between them once Rin finished slicing the sturdy AMES apart to fully reveal that wound.

The two hurried off with the Medic as Sayoko and Rin were left to tend to Yjara...who was having trouble standing. Everything her one good eye could see was going white and fuzzy, as the others nearby had only a brief moment to catch the scientist before she began to collapse.

Medbay

Nora's first patient had arrived, the one they'd been prepping the hemosynth tube for. The familiar face of the senior Medic on the ship, an older Neko, was visible through the helmet of her AMES. The suit had been torn open, so all that was left to do was pop the helmet off and get her into the tube, which Baek and Gunshin were happy to assist with, once they'd placed the backboard holding the Medic on the nearest available bed.

Springing right into action, Nora removed the Medic's helmet and grabbed her PMS off the counter nearby. A quick scan showed that, while the emergency first-aid that been administered was helping, they were definitely right in ordering a hemosynth tube to be prepped. Nora didn't need a scanner to tell her that, however: just looking at the wounded Medic told her everything she needed to know. The blood had begun to clot, but the gash in the Medic's stomach was dangerously deep. She looked over to Baek and Gunshin and asked them to help her lift the patient into the tube.

"Gently... gently..." she cautioned the two other Nekos, and once the Medic was situated Nora activated the tube. The young medic then turned and bowed, thanking Baek and Gunshin for their assistance. With that dealt with, she had the hemosynth tube begin running an in-depth diagnostic, one that would let her know the full extent of the Medic's injuries and what further actions would need to be taken.

From the sorry state that this first patient was in, Nora guessed that there would be more crew members in need of urgent care. The report she had received had stated there had been a firefight, but she did not yet have an accurate assessment of how many wounded there were and how serious these wounds were. Nora could feel herself begin to sweat; she'd never been in a situation like this before. Sure, she'd received medical training, but this was different. Back then, they were just simulations and dummies. Now, real lives, the lives of her crew-mates, were on the line. And the senior medic was down.

"Knock it off, Shinako, you doubting yourself now isn't gonna help anyone," Nora mumbled to herself as she went about prepping the Medbay for the probable influx of wounded. Loading her PMS with a fresh set of hypospray, replaced her latex gloves, cleaned off the bed that the Medic had been laying on, and checked to make sure her Type 31C kit had everything she needed in it. Then she went over to the Medic's tube to see how the diagnostic was coming along, even though she knew it would be a good while before the full scan would be complete. Anything to break the nervous tension. The waiting is killing me, she thought, I wouldn't be so damn stressed if I had patients to occupy my attention. Seeing that she had nothing left to do, Nora sat down and picked up one of the anatomy manuals laying around in the Medbay and started freshing up her knowledge. Now all that was left was for her to wait for the people to start showing up.

Rin was quick to react and steady the human woman along with Sayoko as she teetered from the severity of her injuries. Using the multi-tool that was still in her hand, the officer once again carefully and methodically sliced into the AMES suit near Yjara's shoulder, cutting away those portions that were now coated with sticky drying blood. With her experiences on the battlefield over the years, and even losing her own arm in a firefight, Hoshitomo was no stranger to the sanguine liquid that was dripping down the arm into her glove, and removed it as well with a steady hand.

However, seeing the scientist now passing out from the blood loss that her body could not stop, Rin felt a twinge of guilt in her icy blue eyes. Perhaps Tsukisaki-Taii was correct that allowing her to come along was the wrong decision and careless, and this incident would only prove her right that non-Neko's were not fit for this mission and a liability... a culture of command that Hoshitomo-shoi was determined to change. She wouldn't give up after just one setback.

The teal-haired soldier's final gesture was reaching for a pack of hemostatic quick clotting agent from the kits spread out and handing it to Sayoko. "Apply this and whatever else you can to her wound to slow the bleeding, and get down to the medbay immediately," ordered the XO, as she remained a moment longer to steady the SSS Liaison until the Intelligence Operative was ready to move her. It was time for Yjara's care to be entrusted to the experts from here on out...

The First Officer headed back up to the bridge proper once the drama winded down in the bay, as she felt the Heartbreaker spurring in motion and rising from the landing pad. A quick check of the ship status via Ochiko showed that Nakane-hei had located the problem, and the power flow was at optimal levels. A small but reassuring victory.

YSS Heartbreaker, Shuttle Bay

Sayoko - about to ask which analgesic the SSS liaison was referring to - swore to herself as she helped study the collapsing scientist, then winced as the medical scanner in her other hand began wailing at her. Silencing it with a few quick taps and attaching it to her belt, the SAINT agent looked up in time to see the crimson rivulets of bodily fluid caused by Rin's ministrations on what remained of Dust's AMES.

What in the...oh. Not good. Accepting the offered hemostatic clotting agent from the XO, Sayoko nodded in acknowledgement of the Shoi's orders and hurriedly applied the agent to Yjara's mangled shoulder, noticing how little the tide of crimson fluid oozing from the wound was stemmed. Brilliant. Class-A brilliant.

As she felt the deckplates beneath her feet tremble slightly with the liftoff of the Heartbreaker, Sayoko picked up the now-unconcious human up bridal-style - taking care to avoid aggravating Dust's shoulder any further - and charged out of the Shuttle Bay into the corridor as she made a beeline for the Medbay, wishing as she did so that her harebrained sister was there. Granted, Katsumi-chan is barely tolerable at the best of times, but she's also an unnaturally good Medic. I wonder how she's - movement objective completed.

Medical Bay

Filing the thoughts of her ridculously hyperactive sister away for later consideration, Sayoko barged into the Medbay, Yjara's supine form in her arms. "Critical blood loss from left shoulder wound. Unconcious. Took unknown dosage/type of an analgesic during excursion."

"Alright, thank you very much," Nora responded, adding in a polite bow to Sayoko before taking Yjara and laying her on one of the tables. Taking out her PMS, she ran a scan to try and determine what type of painkiller it was, as well as how much blood was lost. While the scanner did it's work, Nora reached into her kit and grabbed an adhesive vitals monitor and applied it on her patients chest. A sudden beep told her the scan was complete, and upon reading it became clear that Yjara would need a transfusion immediately. She moved back to her kit and started pulling out everything she would need for a pair of IVs: one for the blood and another for a saline drip to help flush out the excess painkillers. Pulling up the scientist's file on her data pad to get a blood type, Nora then went into a locker at the back of the Medbay and took a bag of the correct type.

With all the parts together, the medic set about getting the IVs working: needles placed in either forearm and the bags hanging by hooks on the wall. She then referred back to her data pad and pulled up Yjara's vitals. By the look of it, this would work for now, but that wound would need mending before the human could fully recover.

"Nothing a needle and thread can't fix," Nora said to no one in particular. No need for any painkillers or sedatives, either: Yjara had apparently taken care of that herself. Suturing up the wound was a simple matter, and before Nora knew it she was done. She nodded in approval at her handiwork: Yjara would have a new scar to talk about, but she would still be able to use her arm and, even better, she did not die of blood loss. All in all, I think I'll chalk this one up as a success. Rising up from beside the injured scientist, Nora put her hand on Yjara's arm.

"You rest up now," she said, even though she was pretty sure her words fell on deaf ears. "I just hope that this will be the end for me today," Nora mused, and resumed checking the Medic and Yjara's vitals while humming a tuneless song absent-mindedly to herself.

Medbay > Bridge

Yumi put her mindy back into the power armor bay and then turned and watched them quietly, unphased by the almost dying woman, she had seen a lot of death in her time. She put her suit back on before she followed the group quietly to the medical bay where she listened to what the doctor would be doing. She took a breath of realization when it was noted that the woman would live with enough medical proceedure, unlike Neko's once a non-neko life came to end it was a bit more difficult to get them back alive. She turned and headed towards the bridge with Rin. “...That was a rather close one.” Her voice was quiet, perhaps a little perturbed. “I have to admit, I expected a lot of things, but not what we saw there.” She said as they entered the bridge.
