RP: NSS Altomir [Mission 1.1] Gathering the Bearings

Saveli's Impaler rifle released a single thin beam of charged particle energy. His aim was true enough; as the unarmored neko reached the apex of her second plunge, the shot pierced straight through her shoulder, sending her body lurching off to the side as her hold on the knife abruptly lost its grip. The sudden pain made Alexandra's attempts at peeling the cat off relatively easy... however, almost as soon as she had finished, Bernhard's Hostile, still sliding from the blow delivered to it by the Mindy at the stairwell (A), crashed into the shins of Alex's Hostile, causing her to topple forward.

Thomas and his hail of Impaler fire were quickly greeted by retaliatory fire from the Mindy he was targeting. The Mindy (A) quickly took a few steps back up the halted escalator, the upper edge of the ascending hallway's exit blocking many of Thomas's shots, although it also meant that the Mindy's own returned Impaler fire also had very little chance for success. A couple of the shots grazed the top of the fountain's embankment, sending chalky dust up with each beam. One of them in particular soared directly over Violetta, who ducked her head instinctively, only to take on an annoyed glare and instantly rise up from her seated position to return a few shots of her own.

The Mindy (A), now out of Thoma's field of view farther up the stairwell, quickly made a couple of motions on her weapon; most likely reloading. After she was finished, the Mindy (A) instantly resumed its tried and true kneeling position, waiting for more targets to fall into her dangerously narrow line of fire. Thomas's own reload of the Impaler in his hands was met with mixed results. On one hand, he was able to somewhat correctly install the new battery into the NMX weapon. However, as he tried to fire, nothing would come out, possibly signifying that either the battery he had procured was spent, or simply not installed into the weapon properly.

The second Mindy (B), burst into the Rest Area, taking refuge behind the second, northernmost pillar to break the line of sight of the other Nepleslian marines she had been engaging. Almost as soon as she had stopped, however, Devlin's sudden advance from her rear appeared to catch her off-guard. The Mindy raised the Impaler rifle to fire upon Devlin, just as he had reached her position.

Devlin swung the weapon wide and harshly, striking his intended target well on the side of the abdomen. The Impaler was large and somewhat heavy, built to withstand serious duress, but not really constructed for such use. The weapon bent upon contact, sparks and crackles of broken electronics and a loud, resounding pop of its internal vacuum chamber was breached. As a result, however, the power armor-clad nekovalkyrja was knocked the short distance between her and the pillar she had intended to use as cover. The Mindy (B) hit the pillar hard, actually breaking through a good 35% of the construct as she rebounded back off of several wrought iron rebars present in the center of the pillar.

The Mindy (B) landed on her hands and knees in front of Devlin again, one of her arms resting on its shoulder as the Mindy trembled slightly from the sudden blunt trauma. It was down, but not entirely out; from its down-facing position, Devlin could see the large back-mounted dorsal weapon begin to swivel around, almost instantly pointing towards the Nepleslian. Another split second later, a beam of bright blue and white burst out of the end of the short barrel, directly at Devlin's Hostile.

Once again his attack had seemed pointless, doing little to the Mindy (B) at first, and not doing anything until he watched the shield break under the duress of so much incoming fire. Then the Mindy had decided to move again, it's decision entirely too appropriate in nature. Whether it realized the karmic value that the Creator had placed upon it's actions was both inconsiquential, and highly unlikely. It had come in to this station barreling in his direction, so Krystian would see to it that it left this realm of existance as it barreled for him once again. It took cover near the other pillar, focusing on his fellow Marines as if he was just a fly on the wall, and it would soon have it's hands full with one of the Marines barreling forward at the Mindy. Devlin, as Krystian's suit identified his IFF tag, was charging for the Mindy, and bearing a captured enemy weapon as if it were some divine improvised club of rightous beat-downs. Before Krystian could really begin to move in order to aid his fellow Marine, the weapon made contact with the Mindy, and had Krystian been a more emotionally open individual he would have flinched at just the sight of the impact that the Mindy made against the pillar.

The pillar fared remarkably well against the force of the flying Mindy. A fine tribute to Nepleslian craftsmanship. Foreigners could say what they wanted about Nepleslian drinking habits, and they were extreme, but by the Creator could they build things.

Falling over from the blow, the Mindy was left vulnerable, and hurt. However, what could be said for Nepleslian archetecture seemed to apply in some part to the construction of NMX armors, and their pilots. So that meant that Krystian and Devlin would have to work in order to bring the pilot down -- so Krystian set his mind on the task. He began his offensive once again, placing away his submachinegun, and instead drawing his VBCS from it's holster. His PLA opened fire on the Mindy once again, hoping to absolutely obliterate the pilot within. At the same time, with the Mindy firing at Devlin, he ran forward, and lept in to the air. Knees curled, knife held in both hands high above his head in a fashion made popular by more modern Nepleslian action movies, Krystian jumped in to the air, and aimed himself at the Mindy in front of him.

He hoped to land on the armor's waist, using the weight of the Hostile to disorient the pilot (if not break the pilot), and have the downward momentum of his fall assist in driving the blade of his VBCS through whatever soft and vulnerable part of the armor it could find in and around the neck. After that, failing killing it in one fell blow, he would proceed to stab at anything that looked important, from under the armpits, to any exposed machinery of the Mindy's back-mounted weaponry in order to bring it down. Close combat was not his expertise but he was willing to do whatever it took to save his fellow Marine from a painful death.
 
"Ah! You piece of crap!" Thomas yelled as he kept pressing the weapon's trigger as if to make sure it wouldn't just fire again all of sudden. The fact that the enemy weapon wouldn't worked pissed him off, overcoming his fear of the whole situation. "Screw you!" He yelled, finally giving up on the prospect of reloading a second time and tossing the particle rifle aside.

He looked towards the other Mindy (B) to check if it would be a threat either to him or to the lieutenant, and then switched his monoye back to the first one (A) when he saw that there were already too many friendlies handling the other threat. He drew his LSP and squeezed some shots at the Mindy (A).

"If we keep that one pinned our guys can get clear of its line of fire!" He said to Saveli, turning his monoeye towards the Iromakuanhe's and then back to the stairs, and then resumed firing at his target, trying more to squeeze as many shots as possible on the Mindy's (A) direction and not bothering too much with aiming precisely at it.
 
"Hi Mayhew. Bye Mayhew!" Bernhard said, scrambling to his feet and picking up his AS4GS. He swapped it out for the HPAR and aimed at Mindy (B). But then he realized there were too many friendly units around the Mindy for him to be comfortable with a shot.

It would not stop him from yelling at the idiot greenies using crap weapons and tactics. "Whoever the fuck you are, stop using the LPA! It's bloody useless against the Mindy! And Mort, stop using the peashooter and use your Push/Pull and that Impaler!"

"Mayhew, I'm gonna get to the Grand Admiral. Cover me and shoot that Mindy in the stairwell," Bernhard said to Alex. Now was not the time to be worried about hurt feelings and toppling her over.

He activated his thrusters again, zipping towards Vanderhuge, albeit slower to control the erratic responses in his damaged thrusters.
 
Saveli's mono-eyed helmet turned Thomas's direction, and nodded before hobbling forth with a half-learned grace. The Cohronl was slowly learning the form of running with one good leg. He came forward just enough to get the Mindy on the stairwell in sights, before sliding down to one knee and raising his rifle up at it. The soldier was quite aware he was out in the open, susceptible to fire from any direction, but Mu'Klamal teaches that no battle is won without a good-deal of risk. Then there was also the teachings of Fanir, which were less poetic, but just as applicable:

Strike fast, and strike hard.

Saveli squeezed the trigger on his acquired Impaler rifle, letting it fire out a few consecutive, controlled shots. Hopefully, he could get a few more in before someone charged in and made it counter-productive to use guns. At the very least, he could steal the attentions of said Mindy. Or kill it. Killing it would appreciate his skill in battle more, though the Astral Commonwealth usually appreciates an ability to disable more.
 
The downed Mindy (B) in front of Devlin unleashed a single charged blast from its shoulder-mounted pulse cannon into the Hostile's armor. Devlin's shields padded a good amount of aetheric pulse, disappointing most of it before it reached the chestplate. The small remainder of the lethal energy weapon struck him in the chest, searing and charring a baseball-sized blotch into Devlin's chestplate and knocking him back into the Rest Area wall behind him.

The Mindy's (B) attention on Devlin Marsh meant Kyrstian's sudden strike from the other angle went more or less unhindered. The Mindy's sensor systems must have warned the nekovalkyrja pilot within of the impending threat, as the NMX soldier twisted its torso sidelong, attempting to turn around to face the new attacker. The action happened too late, however, as Krystian's two-ton Hostile stomped atop the Yamataian-designed powered armorsuit, the whirring VCBS brought down a split second later. The area around the neck was less armored, and as most Yamataian armor wasn't bulky by design, left little in the ways of critical point defense; the VCBS sank past the thin durandium and yarvex mesh, slicing through the bio-organic flesh beneath the armored shell. The gnashing teeth sank in and sliced away, reaching all the way up the blade to the guard into the NMX neko's collarbone. The soldier beneath Krystian made a few defiant gestures as the knife did its work, settling motionless after a few seconds.

Flint was in the process of reloading his enormous, ID-SOL-sized pistol as Bernhard awkwardly advanced towards him. The Grand Admiral flipped open the break-loading breach of the giant weapon, pulling the still-smoking bullet casing out and tossing it aside, deftly inserting another sizable bullet retrieved from the combat belt into the back of the barrel. The ID-SOL commander turned to face Bernhard, smirking as he flipped the break-load barrel back up into a locked and loaded position.

"Great timing," Flint said gruffly, using his other hand to toss the HPAR he had received earlier to Bernhard. Flint said as he peered over the edge of the separating barrier between the two ascending stairwells. Flint noticed that Mindy (B) was most certainly down and out, and grinned to himself as he turned around abruptly and started moving up the stairwell in a hurried manner. The giant ID-SOL turned his head and grinned danerously beneath his tactical visor at Bernhard as he passed him, flipping his pistol around in his hand until he was actually holding the barrel of the weapon, rather than the grip. "Check this shit out, marine."

The hail of gunfire into the Mindy's (A) small choke point left the piloting neko very little room for maneuver. Despite temporarily being without shielding, none of the marines had a decent field of fire on her, although the risk was still very much present. However, as the other Mindy (B) was dispatched by Krystian, the single remaining soldier suddenly lowered her Impaler slightly. She must have been made aware of her recently-killed companion as the neko started to make the motions of retreat. The Mindy (A) turned and took two steps up before activating her thrusters to build enough velocity to retreat out into the street.

Flint's sudden hurried leaps up the sidelong stairwell suddenly began to make more sense. The sound of the Mindy's thrusters was loud and easily distinguishable, and almost as soon as the echoes reverberated back into Flint's ears, the massive ID-SOL stopped and turned his body back towards the bottom of the steps. The Grand Admiral took a moment, his eyes glancing intensely at the wall separating the two stairway halls as he raised his free hand, clenching his black-gloved fist tightly in front of his chest, the muscles beneath his combat armor growing more pronounced as his arm coiled like a compressed spring.

After another split second, that spring was set loose. Flint shot his balled fist directly into the wall, sending the entire length of his arm through the foot or so of plaster and cinder block and into the opposing stairway. The neko barely had any time to react to Flint's spot-on intuition; the ID-SOL opened his hand up just in time to catch the Mindy's head as she attempted to escape, her velocity not yet built up enough to break through Flint's muscular frame. The sudden stop jolted through the Mindy's body, the thrusters on her legs and back sending her lower body forward as she was effectively clotheslined by Flint, saved from a terrible tumble as the Grand Admiral closed his massive fist around the Mindy's helmet.

"Where ya going, bitch?!" Flint shouted with a hefty grunt, followed by a intensifying growl as Flint Vanderhuge pulled his arm back through the hole he had just punched through the wall, the Mindy armor's head still clenched in his massive hand. Flint's enormous strength made the action seem effortless, pulling the NMX armored soldier through the wall up to her torso until the Mindy was straight horiztonal, upper and lower body split between the two hallways. Flint let go, shifting his body sidelong and planting a single foot behind him as he raised his right hand, the giant pistol still held in his hand backwards, acting as a makeshift hammer. With a guttural roar, Flint brought down the hammer, so to speak, directly on the dazed and confused Mindy's helmet. With nothing to support or absorb the energy of the direct vertical blow onto the neko's perfectly horizontal neck, the butt of Flint's pistol collided with the helmet with a thunderous shthunk. The NXM neko's head and neck bent with the force of the blow at an angle that would easily be distinguished as lethal. This was confirmed by the the Mindy armor suddenly going limp, to which Flint answered by flipping his pistol around in his hand, lining up the mouth of the barrel onto the bottom of the chin and fired its single round directly into the helmet. The head shook and dangled a bit, but no further movements registered from the Mindy.

No further enemy signatures were to be found.

The Grand Admiral let out a single, amused snort, slowly beginning to descend the stairs once more as he began reloading his pistol again, a satisfied smile running across his face. "Marines! Fall in for damage assessment. Anyone injured?" Flint asked, lifting his combat visor as he made his way towards the stone monument in the center of the room.
 
Landing on the Mindy (B) had been step one of the plan completed, which meant that Krystian had wasted almost no time in commencing with step two: "Stab the living hell out of it." Which had gone remarkably well. The pilot had been defiant to the end of course, a strong opponent facing it's inevitable end. Wild smacks against the heavily armored legs and thighs of his armor were virtually pointless in stopping what happened, because by then Krystian had felt the change in pressure as the tip of his knife shifted from cutting through metal, to cutting through flesh, and he had kept the knife jabbed in as deep as he possibly could during the entirety of the pilot's final death throes. It was -- satisfying. In a perversely sick way. Somewhere in the back of his mind, the realization that he had obtained his first kill had just hit him, but it was not something that was truly registering his full attention and focus at the moment. The voice of a superior officer barking orders was taking up all the space. So Krystian moved in to action.

He twisted his knife a few more times, just to be sure, and had pulled it harshly from the neck of the now dead Mindy pilot. Placing it away, he walked over to Devlin. Though he hadn't really registered anything beyond the fact that his fellow Marine was in danger, he now saw that the blast had knocked his fellow Marine against the wall. According to his HUD display, Devlin wasn't hurt in any gruesome manner, but had obviously been knocked off balance to the point that he had been knocked in to a wall of the Rest Area.

Queing up the comm-link he had established with the Grand Admiral much earlier, when escorting he and Admiral De Luca, "Sir, Private Krystian Czarnecki. I'm good to go."

He held out a single hand in an offer to help Devlin recover. However, despite his seemingly calm exterior, his heart was still pounding from his close encounter, and yet at the same time he could feel fatigue setting in as the adrenaline in his system faded away. For his first close-in encounter with the enemy, a Mindy no less, he felt he had handled himself rather well, and once Devlin had recovered he stepped out of the rest area to head for the monument on the center of the platform where the others were beginning to fall in.
 
As Yuriko made her way toward the Grand Admiral, she slung the HPAR's nylon sling over a shoulder before checking the LSP. Seeing she had only a few rounds left, Yuriko put it back in its hip holster. If it got bad, she still had her knife and the built in systems.

"No damage, sir. Missile systems dry, LSP only has ten rounds left." her hand strayed toward the knife as if to make sure it was still there and ready if need be.
 
Sighing, Mort stashed his LSP back on its compartment, still feeling his heart thumping on his chest despite the fact that the battle was over, feeling how his legs were slightly woozy from the adrenaline. It didn't matter to him, and if anything it only showed that the extensive -and sometimes harsh- training that he received had paid off, keeping him from panicking and putting his head were it should be: In the fight.

He proceeded to grab the discarded Impaler back again moved out to where the marines were gathering. "Admiral, sir. I can keep the other's PAs from falling apart if anyone has a repair kit. No damage sustained." He said, looking around towards what remained of the two dead Mindys.
 
Devlin was engulfed in a wash of blue, momentarily filling the helmet with light before the blast hit him. The force translated through the layers as a punch to the gut, and he felt his body hunch over and move backwards on a whim until it hit the wall. He shook his head through the daze and colored spots as the NMX soldier crumpled over. Looking up, Devlin was taken aback by the marine's gesture but quickly accepted the help with a grin as he was pulled up. The chest plate moaned under the movements and Devlin patted the suit lovingly, as if that would calm it.

"My suit has a beauty mark, but Private Marsh is in one piece, sir," he said. He grabbed the Impaler rifle off the dead soldier, taking the time to scavenge for spare battery packs before heading for the center. He held the rifle and ammo out for Private Czarnecki, "Thanks for the help with the Neko, they're yours if you want them."
 
"I've got..." Saveli grunted, using his rifle as a crutch to stand, "I've got damage on right leg. The motor systems are dead, and the thruster unit is volatile."

He stumbled a bit, still trying to compensate for the added weight provided by his bum leg. The Cohronl gave his damaged legs a few careful pats, the burnt joint sparking a bit to his touch. He wanted to go salvage the weapons off the other power-armors, but he was quite lacking in mobility to reach them before the others would get to them.

"Can someone look at this?" asked the Marine, looking at the native Nepleslians.
 
Alex did no really got to join the action after the neko-club debacle. She had her LSP drawn, but before she could fire, Flint dispatched of the neko. She was almost sorry for her. Almost. Her own prisoner was now apparently dead, with smoldering hole in her back. All Alex could now do was to fall in, so she did, after getting back her HPAR.

"P1C, Alexandra Mayhew. Uninjured and feeling stupid." She reported and saluted to Flint. "Is anyone injured?" She asked right after and looked around. She finally noticed Flint itself. "Grand Admiral, shouldn't I have a look at your arm?" She asked then, preparing her med-pack. She wanted to save Hypolathe for the time, when she would have to treat people in PAs.
 
Alexandra's astute observation was correct; closer inspection of the Grand Admiral revealed a large wet spot formed on his right shoulder, painting the black fabric beneath the body armor in a darker hue. Flint glanced over at his shoulder casually when Alex addressed him, holstering his pistol.

"Pft, what, this?" Flint Vanderhuge gave a sarcastic chortle as he pointed at his supposed injury. Despite his casual tone, Flint realized that it wouldn't hurt to at least have the extent of the damage checked. The giant ID-SOL strolled over to the stone fountain monument, taking a seat on the edge. Even seated, his stature was impressively; Alex would have to stand on the ridge of the fountain herself to become level to the Grand Admiral's injured shoulder. "Probably took a few hits on the way here. Weak shit, Impalers, barely felt it. Probably went clean through," Flint explained as he began removing the the chest plate in order to pull the rest of the body armor out of the way.

Violetta De Luca didn't fall in with the rest. Instead, the female officer stood up, leaving her weapon propped against the fountain and began surveying the area. The 1st Defense Fleet Admiral did not appear to have been ready for active duty when the NSS Grand Rose was destroyed in orbit; Violetta was still wearing her officer's uniform beneath the simple ballistics vest, complete with the standard knee-length skirt, sheer stockings and short heels. Her escape from the wreckage had not left her gasping, however; she strode with purpose, her face looking intent on what she was doing. "Grand Admiral, are we to remain here at the rendezvous point? For how long?" Violetta turned herself around in Flint's direction, although her head and eyes did not follow, instead keeping focused on the northern subway tunnel.

"Huh? Ah, yeah, I think we'll bunker down here for a bit, see if we pick up any stragglers receiving the short-range," Flint answered gruffly, tossing the heavy body armor down on the ground in front of him, pulling the black woven mesh up from his waist to reveal the afflicted area. Sure enough, there were wounds present running along Flint's shoulder and upper bicep, and although there was a lot of blood smeared around the area, it would appear that the the wounds were actually no longer bleeding. Alex's medical knowledge of common combat injuries gave her the insight to see that Flint was not in any real danger, despite having taken what appeared to be roughly seven direct hits from an NMX Impaler rifle. Something to glue up the holes to avoid further possible bleeding was all that he actually required.

Violetta nodded at Flint's response, turning her gaze from the north tunnel to the south. When she spoke, her voice carried through her miniature communication link fitted into her ear into the Hostile communication network running between all of the soldiers. "We'll need to secure our perimeter, marines. Possible points of entry are the northern tunnel, southern tunnel, and the entrance to the street on the south wall," Violetta began explaining the situation to the soldiers around her, striding towards the center fountain as she spoke. "Four should be suitable for surveillance. Two watching the street entrance from the outside, one for each tunnel. We will remain here for six hours, marines, so we will switch surveillance teams three hours in."

When Yuriko's team of four soldiers fell in, Violetta glanced over at them and waved for them to come forward. "You four can take the first shifts. Two up on the street, two a couple hundred yards in each tunnel. I believe the office building across the street will make a good vantage point; keep your armorsuits on low output to conserve your reactor energy, chances are we will be stretching the power limitations pretty thin before they receive proper maintenance."

The four Privates that Violetta volunteered gave single salutes, two of them venturing up the stairwell towards the street while the other two split up into their respective tunnels. Once they were out and about on their duty, Violetta turned to the rest of the remaining marines, giving each of them an analytical gaze.

"That goes for everyone else. Save your armor's power reserves for the moment, but keep them ready for action at a moments notice," Violetta continued with her instructions, carefully readjusting her glasses onto the bridge of her nose. "You may eat or rest and get some maintenance for your equipment as needed, but first I want the immediate area searched to make sure we have not missed anything. Remember, in three hours, I want four volunteers to relieve the others.
 
Krystian gave Devlin a small nod of appreciation when he recieved the impaler rifle, securing the ammo for it, and his own submachinegun in appropriate places for safe-keeping. Then he had fallen in, watching as Flint was attended to, and then watching further as the plans to hold the area were put in to motion by Admiral De Luca. He stayed silent, watching as she issued out the order of duty for the guard rotations, and when she turned to address he and the others he had responded with a quick salute. Search the area, lower the suit's power draw, rest, but be ready for action or to relieve the assigned guards in three hours time. That sounded easy enough to do.

"Ma'am." He spoke up, "I volunteer to replace one of the sentries outside when we shift duties."

So with the order of business established by their CO, Krystian grabbed his newly acquired Impaler rifle, and tapped the nearest Marine on the shoulder with a nod of his head to follow him as he headed in the direction of the bathrooms.

As much as he didn't like people, he wanted to make sure he had somebody to cover his back in the event that something went wrong like a trap left behind by NMX forces. The kind that was designed to catch unsuspecting Marines off-guard when they thought they were safe.

They had four or five areas to clear, by the looks of it, and Krystian decided he would start with the bathrooms. He moved for the male bathroom first, rifle at the ready as he neared the entrance, and he glanced over his shoulder to make sure his fellow Marine was with him. Then he stepped through the entryway, rifle sweeping the room as he cut to one side; both to leave the dreaded "kill box" and to allow his fellow Marine to enter as well.
 
Bernhard walked up to Admiral De Luca. "Ma'am," he saluted, "Private Greer, attached from the 4th Fleet. Grand Admiral Valken compliments. He instructed me that if I ever see you, to tell you that if you ever need a favor, he would do everything in his power to aid you."
 
Violetta nodded once to Bernhard and once to Krystian, her shoulders relaxing a bit now that her orders were already delivered. The admiral gave Greet a short smile that faded away as quickly as it had come. "Some additional assistance from the 4th would be nice," Violetta said, well aware of how unlikely it was. "But with this scrambling signal breaking any communication beyond a mile or so and those hidden surface-to-orbit weapons, I imagine it would be difficult to ask for such a thing."

As Saveli and Devlin had found prior to the firefight, Krystian would find that the restrooms were barren of anything that might have been considered out of the ordinary. Plastered with graffiti and not entirely sanitized, Krystian's Hostile sensor systems would note that water and plumbing were still functioning, same as electrical power. It was uncertain as to whether or not the power would last, however; some parts of Bal'Sharok still had electricity, while others were experience black-outs by the block.
 
Saveli stumbled over to one of the damaged and tugged it out over the floor hap-hazardly. He stumbled a little a bit, and eventually fell over himself as he lumbered with his damaged leg. The Iromakuanhe wasn't sure if he'd get his leg fixed any time soon, but since no one was taking the initiative, he took to looting the dead. His eyes fell on the shoulder mounted weapon, with the drum clip attached. The soldier tugged on it a bit, finding little give on the weapon's part.

Still, while on his one good knee, Saveli tugged the Impaler Rifle out of her hands, and then strapped it to his back. He patted the armor down, occasionally tapping certain armor plates to see if they were hollow. The Cohronl was well aware of the storage compartments of certain armors, and he intended to get everything off the Mindy.
 
Flint was just too big. She could not possibly get to him in her suit, since she was sure fountain could not held up under two tons of Hostile suit. She still needed to treat Grand Admiral. His wound already closed, but she still needed to clean them and put bandage over them so they won't open again.

Alex opened her Hostile and climbed out. It was nice to stretch anyway, she though as she climbed on the fountain in all her orange skinned beauty. She had tank-top and general uniform pants and it was kinda chilly underground. Not too much though.

"I assume you don't want any painkiller Grand Admiral." She said, her voice full of stoicism. She checked the wound more carefully now from up close. Not to mention she saw half-naked Flint Vanderhuge, from up close. Not many can probably say that. Alex noticed as she touched muscle around one of the injuries, that they were like steel. What the hell is this man made off? She thought.

Wounds from the impaler left small holes with burn tissue.First she spread antibacterial gel over the wounds, then Alex took a tube of burn cream out of her medpack and started spreading it over the holes to help heal the burns faster. All that was left was bandaging it up. She looked through her medpack looking for vial of Liquid bandage. When she found it, she had to frown. It was almost empty.

"Bugger." She said looking at the thing. There was enough to close one hole and that was it. Alex dig back into her pack looking for another the other kind of bandages that were there. She took out a box of adhesive bandages. Alexandra never really understood why they were there, another vial or two of liquid bandages would be better. She also have no idea why in the name of Davis's beard were they pink.

"Sorry sir, I don't have anything else." She said, opening the box and started bandaging Flint's wound with pink horribleness. Hopefully he won't bite her head off.
 
Devlin was about to ask Saveli about his leg when something caught his attention. In the northernmost room, that the panel gate previously blocked, rested a half-track, slumbering in its cave like some kind of beast. Interest peaked, he made his way over and began examining the vehicle. Bullet casings were sent scattering with each step as the Nepleslian picked apart the machine with hungry eyes. Devlin had never been down to the subways before - he preferred to stick to the rooftops, but he had seen plenty of half-tracks roaming the streets and construction sites, pulling parts and debris along. This particular one must've been either used for repairs or the planet had seen tough times and this had been the premier choice of transportation in the tunnels.

Hopping onto one of the treads and testing its strength with a few good bounces, Devlin looked into the storage area behind the cab for any supplies, especially food. In the chaos during the Grand Rose's descent, he barely had enough time to grab a suit and make it to the escape pod, and now the action was catching up with his appetite. After taking some time looking through the back, he went around to the driver's side of the cab. Pulling out his sidearm, he reached for the door's handle with one outstretched hand while holding the LSP ready in the other. Giving a tug on the handle, he tried to open the door while his stomach growled in impatience.
 
"I doubt 4th Fleet would be able to get here. Last I had heard, they were coordinating with 3rd Fleet to attack somewhere else. Probably to distract the NMX from reinforcing this system with everything they had," Bernhard said to Violetta. "Do you need anything else, Ma'am?"

The adrenaline in his system was winding down and he was feeling the exhaustion from fighting for so long. How many hours had it been since he had landed with the First Response? He knew it had been a week since he had left 4th Fleet but... time just sorta stopped working properly after that.
