"...Hai." Arkase said surprisedly. "Is that really alright while in a PA, Ma'am?"

As he asked the question, he moved to the station he had been ordered to. He would be ready -- even if he had to dress back into his normal uniform on the bridge.

“Ma'am, currently the new energy is going straight into the capacitors, not into the CFS directly, tuning it down now would lengthen the rise time exponentially to above thirty seconds.” said Silic quickly, tapping a few keys on his console. The shield energy rating changed as the system realigned most of its power towards the bow sections, drawing power from the stern but leaving more than enough power to deal with all but the heaviest weapons.

Task done, Silic leaned back into his chair, and looked over at Honoka the next console over. Clicking with his tongue to attract her attention, he winked at her cheekily, flirting lightly to try and break some battle jitters that were coming in.

"Arkase-Hei, park the armor against the wall. If you'll need it, you'll have time to get back into it." Kiyoshi said to the SpeCom.

Meanwhile the NMX forces were closing, the drones were closing and would soon be in range of the Power Armor troops surrounding the capital ships. The NMX warships would soon be in range of the primary weapons of the 4th.

Kiyoshi transmitted an encrypted set of instructions to the Spirit City.

As the intelligence officer typed her message, Silic turned to looked around his chair at the Arkase, a cheeky grin painting his face. “Arkase's getting nakei.” he teased, in a high pitched voice, talking in his native Nepleslian.

Silic had said it had made the tease at just the right moment: Arkase was slipping out of his armor.

"Hey, Silic-Hei, you sound like Freda Menslington -- you know, that gay guy that hosts Great Battles of Yamatai?"

Smiling, he threw on the pants from the uniform he kept in a rear storage compartment on the PA.

That done, he got onto the console and linked up to the teams he would be working with.

While the Admiral's staff was exchanging quips, the first wave of NMX battle pods approached the battle groups. Several of the Power Armor wings charged to meet the enemy. There were so many of the pods that they visually blocked the other warships.

The KAMI aboard the Nadare provided an analysis of the battle pods, 65 % of them were just normal pods, 25% were torpedo bombers, and 10% were unidentified.

Silic just laughed at Arkase's reply, but staring intently at the now empty suit, waggling his fingers in the air as if to relieve an itch, he turned back to his console. “So what we gonna do,” he said, nodding towards the display of enemy battle pods “ram them?”

The rest of the SAoY power armor wings engaged the enemy battlepods now that they were within their sphere of influence. Within moments in the space around the Nadare NMX battle pods and SAoY Power Armors were locked in a deadly dance.

The NMX warships were now in range of the 4th Fleet's weapons which also meant that they were in range of the Mishhu weapons. Simultaneously both fleets opened fire on the other.

Kiyoshi watched the holographic display and thought, Talk about a target rich environment. Unfortunately that's what the Mishhu are probably thinking.

Kiyoshi turned to the Aides. "Can the chit chat. Deploy the Variable Weapon Pods, give our Power Armors some support. Lock torpedoes on the lead Mishhu warships and commence firing, coordinate with the other ships."

Arkase wordlessly began relaying orders through the console to the Teams responsible for repelling boarders throughout the ship.

He primarily placed the bulk of his forces at junctions where the corridors met, and then at the entrances to Engineering, the Medibay, all throughout the Command Stack, the Power Armour Bay and even in front of the hatch to the room he now comfortably sat in.

I'm snapping out orders like an Officer. He thought with a grim smile.

"The Teams responsible for Anti-Boarding Actions are ready, Ma'am."

Honoka once again relayed the officer's orders to the other Fourth Standard Fleet ships. "Allied vessels, be sure to deploy variable weapons pods to provide fire support to our powered armor. In addition to that, synchronize targeting information and target the lead Misshu vessels with torpedoes and take them out."

The barrage from the NMX warships slammed into the shields of the Nadare and the other capital ships of the fleet. So far none of the vessels sustained any damage, but the shields were slowly dropping. It was just a matter of time until the capital vessels started taking damage.

Silic looked at his colleuages working for a few seconds, an uncertain look on his face before turning back to his console in an obvious attempt to look busy. Suddenly his console pinged as a small message box appeared on one of his screens, reading it quickly he peered down to the floor below. Looking back up at him was the captain of the vessel and most of the engineering bridge crew with rather unfriendly expressions on their faces. Sinking slowly back into his seat, looking rather nervous he erased the message, eased back and sweated silently.

Surrendering control of most of the ships internal systems to the engineering crew parts of Silic's screens began disappearing, clearing the way for previously neglected screens to appear. Glancing up at a screen that seemed particularly enthusiastic he leaned closer, “That doesn't look right.” he muttered loud enough for the top deck to hear, typing into his console for a few seconds before shouting much louder “The bastards!”

Pulling up a log file on his large screen, so the other crew could see the blinking red lines beginning to fill up the screen. “Kami, I might need your help here, look for any terminals with suspicious activity, and send possibles to the security station.” said Silic quietly. Turning to face Kiyoshi his voice trebled slightly “Boss, we may have a serious problem.” if Silic had been sweating before, now he was streaming.

Kiyoshi turned from her display and looked at red headed Nepleslian, "What do you have to report Vas-Hei. I presume it has to do with that display." the green haired Nekovalkyrja asked.

Silic grew pale from nerves, his voice stammering as he replied.“Uh, ma'am, it-it appears someone on the ship is trying to, uh, get control over several restricted systems.” he paused a second, while behind him the red bars began nearing the top of the screen “I, uh, don't believe outside attempts are possible...” letting the unspoken accusation hang, the crew faced the possibility of a mole on-board.

KAMI, "Unauthorized terminal access located, two terminals that are not part of the Nadare network are accessing command infrastructure. First terminal is located in engineering subsection deck 85. Second terminal is located outside of power armor bay."

-------------

"What the fuck," Kiyoshi blurted out before regaining her composure. She turned to Oshiro. "Arkase-Hei, get two of your teams to those locations. We either have intruders onboard, or worse.... Capture if possible, neutralize the threat."

Kiyoshi then turned to Silic, "Good work, Vas-Hei, see what you can do and find out what systems may have been compromised."

----------------

Honoka suddenly had her Valkyrja ears blasted by a squeal of interference, and watched as her panel showing status of the fleet turn to gibberish.

-----------------

At that moment the Nadare's shields flickered off. The next salvo of the NMX ships slammed into the unprotected hull.

----------------

After recovering from the ship taking the hit, Arkase snapped out a "Hai!".

"Teams Echo, move in on Subsection Deck 85 -- neutralize all hostiles, and destroy any unauthorized terminals." He said to the team closest to Engineering -- right outside the door, the could be on the spot within moments.

"Team Bravo, move in on the Power Armour Bay's entrances. Neutralize all hostiles, and destroy any unauthorized terminals." The same order, but it left an intersection open.

Deciding to close the gap in the 'line' he ordered Team Alpha to follow up and take Bravo's spot, leaving a corridor closer to the Medibay open.

Only Kiyoshi's Nekovalkyrja reflexes kept her from being knocked around the battle bridge. "Get me damage and casualty reports ASAP." she called out, "And someone get those shields back up."

-----------------------

Silic observing the screen would notice that since the terminals were not having success directly accesing the primary controls, they appeared to have accessed a lower level system, and interrupted the power to the shields by triggering a fault in the power solenoids.

------------------------

The security teams swiftly moved to the designated positions, and found themselves under fire. However, personnel in EPJs were no match for troops in PA's. However, rather than surrendering the individuals chose self immolation setting of an incendiary device.

"Oshiro-Nitô Hei saboteurs have been neutralized." the leader of Bravo team called out. "Sir, they were Neko's, they appear to be some of the Technical Sentries."

The word 'sir' caught him off guard. The Team Leader probably outranked Arkase.

"Alright, Bravo Team -- I need you to stay alert right where you are for now. If you can find their terminal, find out what they did if at all possible."

Switching channels through his console, he isolated Echo Team's radio frequency.

"Team Echo, what's your status?"

"EEE!" Honoka squealed in pain as she tore off the headphones connected to the console (assuming there were some. Alternatively, she'd just cover her ears), and cringed. She was then thrown from her chair as she couldn't react too well to the ship rocking from the direct hit.

"Itatata..." the aide whined as she slowly got herself up right. It took her a moment, to realize something was wrong. She couldn't hear too well over the ringing in her ears from the interference.

Without waiting for the ringing to clear up, she told Kami to translate any incoming messages, if they were recieving any, into telepathy for her. She then notified the Taisa of her current problem, however short term it may be. 'Taisa, I won't be able to hear any orders at the moment. If you would, please send any orders to me via telepathy.'
