RP: YSS Eucharis [Mission 16] The Nest

Team 1
Konoka's green eyes widened with horror when she saw what the Rippers did to Akemi's escort. There had officially been TOO MUCH death on this mission, and she felt somehow that death was hitting the other team, as well. She HATED death. She was horrified, but she was also....angry. Konoka never got angry, at anybody. But now she was REALLY angry.
She shot at a center Ripper tearfully, shouting, "Didiediediediedie!"
She wanted to finish this before there were any more wounded to treat. She also wondered as she kept shooting iff all those escorts had recent backups...The thought that they might not only made her shoot harder.

Team 1

Takeyu scowled as he kept on firing, his holographic images moving from place to place, though every once in awhile they'd disappear as he engaged his cloaking systems and moved to another area, before redoing the same tactics.

When he heard Konoka he glanced at one of the video reply screens, footage being beamed to him from one of his drones that was not in the hallway beyond but to their rear to keep an eye on the enemies there. "Konoka settle down!" shouted Takeyu through squads frequency.

He took cover for a moment, and waited a few heart beats. "If you allow anger to control you, you might make a mistake, you might get yourself killed. Settle down, take cover for a few moments and take in a few deep breaths. Then, once you're calm, concentrate your fire with the rest of the team, focus on one target at a time please."

When he looked at the footage from the elevator to their rear, the one with explosives by it, he said. "Shosa, we're about to have company to our rear, shall we get ready for a squid BBQ?" he said this as he peered back from around his cover and continue to fire on the Rippers. He was hoping that his drones would somehow find some way to the reactor and perhaps something in the hallway that they could use to their advantage. Cross fire, that's what we need, we are stuck in our current area. Because we are located in front of them, they see no reasons to divert fire... wait, what if some of us teleported 'behind' them?

"Shosa, I might have an idea to help give our Ripper friends some additional problems, if we can somehow get some people 'behind' them, then we can catch them in a crossfire, they'd have to turn thier backs, exposing them to either side. But we need teleportation units, how many in our team have them?" he asked, though the question was broad and asked to more than just the Shosa but also to the team. This message was delivered purely by lasers, so that the NMX wouldn't hear them.

YSS Vesper

Figuring the text message was a long shot, Tomomi proceeded towards the Power Armor Bay so she would be on stand-by. Once she arrived, she quickly picked an unassigned M2-2A and choose a standard "balanced" configuration. She quickly climbed into it and initiated a pre-combat diagnostic system check.

With the last system checking in green, she linked her suit's communication's suite with the Vesper's so she could communicate via laser with Hanako. Tomomi was a bit hesitant to even open the channel, since she really did not know what was going on. But it had to be done.

"Yonto Hei Kurita here. Unable to contact team leaders. Suited up and on standby." Tomomi said quickly.

Team 1

Sune continued firing from his barricade. "We will use that as plan B after we see what we can do with the explosives. Find out if we have enough people with the teleportation pods to pull it of if necessary." He replied. "Fire in the hole." He yelled when he saw Riko toss the explosives and ducked behind cover.

Team 1

Natsumi took aim and snapped off several rounds from her rifle. She was hunkered down behind a pile of dead rippers and rubble, her active cammo on. She fired and fired and fired, hoping to shoot down as many of the incoming enemy as she could before they had a chance to get her and the rest of Team 1's surviving members.

Things were looking bleak, so many of their infantry Neko's were dead or wounded and the enemy just kept coming and coming. She didn't want to die, not yet. Even though she had a backup on the ship.

"Fire in the Hole!" she heard Sune's voice and hit the ground just in time to miss the blinding explosion as Riko's explosives detonated.

"Please let that wipe out the last of them!" Natsumi said to herself, then, as soon as the fireball dissipated, Natsumi brought her weapon back up and opened fire again.

Team 1
Returning to herself, Konoka took cover as the explosion began. She took a deep breath...Takeyu was right. Most of the squid are probably gone now anyway, she realized. I need to not do that again...
She put her "poker face" back on...the face she always tried to put on before a rephrensible mood like what had hit her moments earlier made it to the surface. It had honestly been a long time coming, but Konoka knew it couldn't happen again.
Forgive me, Nacayesen-san, Konoka thought to Takeyu. I don't know what came over me.
She watched the fireball rage.

Team 1

The explosives went off with a concussive explosion that caused a misty shock wave to momentarily flash past the team. The wall of Ripper power armors was dispersed. The infantry nekos surged in to finish them off before they could recover, and were largely successful. The core section was now accessible.

Team 2

Somehow, Mitsuko, Akemi, the Gartagens, and most of the escort nekos managed to make it into the docked ships with Helen. They were shot up pretty badly (especially Akemi and Helen), but they were alive.

YSS Eucharis

“As of last updates,” Blueberry reported back to Hanako. “They are working through some doors and have no casualties. Team two is acquiring cloning materials for intelligence and engaged in combat.”

“Send Tomomi to reinforce team two,” Hanako ordered.

“Shosa Klein, this is Eucharis,” Blueberry transmitted. “We request coordinates for reinforcement teleportation.”

Team 1

"Move it... Move it... Nayacesen-Shoi get that door open. Riko-Hei cover his back. Once we get in we need to assess the area determine what cover and if we can use it to get to the reactor. Konoka-Hei, good job on the Ripper, but as the Shoi said keep focused. We are still a long way from home. The rest of you check your weapons, inventory your ammunition. Once we enter the core even teams move to the right, odd teams to the left." Sune called out.

Away Team 1 reporting
Team has suffered casualties, but we are still operational. Entering a compartment that we believe will help us reach our objective. No word on Team 2. Away team out.

Team 1

"On it Shosa, squad 2 keep my back protected and watch for hostiles," said Takeyu, who put his rifle away and ran into the corridor and up to the next room. He then tore off the panel and began to hot-wire the door to get it open. "Might it be a good idea to close the other door though Shosa to help slow down our pursuers?" he asked while doing his work, he hadn't thought it earlier.

Team 1

"Good idea, Shoi." Sune said to Takeyu.

"Yamashiro-Hei take your squad and see if you can get that shutter down. It will not stop a concentrated effort. But it will slow down any response to our presence." Sune called out.

Team One

Giving an acknowledging nod to Sune, Bors moved to better cover Takeyu's back and messaged his squad to do the same.

"Lets just hope they don't bring anything heavy to take down those doors, don't think we can last to long against a heavy weapons squad."

Bors said glancing back behind him down the hallway they came from.

Team 1

"Come on you bloody door," scowled Takeyu as he concentrated on the door and trying to get it open. Crossing one wire, then another, then taking two seperate wires and splicing them together before repeating this process - all doing this both by sight and by feel.

Although no one could see it, he had his tongue out through the corner of his mout has he worked which showed that he was actually quite enjoying this really.

NMX Escort Ship - Docking Section

Once inside of the ship, and sure that there were no hostiles nearby, Helen shrugged Reika and the NMX body sample off of her Kylie's shoulder as she raised her second arm in preparation for an encounter with the enemy, that was when her communication line picked up a message from the Eucharis.

Helen Klein to Eucharis said:

"This is Klein, Eucharis, I am at XX' XXX' , XXX' XX'. Send reinforcements with flamethrowers for enemy crew neutralization. If mass allows, also send a some anti-armor ordinance. However, priority should be placed on personnel clearing ordinance, as well as equipment for security protocol circumvention. If we're going to be taking this ship, we're going to need to take control of it."

As Helen made her transmission, she gave a sharp kick to Reika a couple of times, in hopes of waking her, before she gave up on the matter and decided she would be best served by establishing a perimeter in preparation for reinforcement. She reached to the drone holster which was still occupied by a drone, as she pulled the device out and sent it on its way to scout about.

Team 1

"Right away!" Natsumi said, acknowledging Sune's order. "Come on!" She said and made for the shutter control panel, three infantry Nekos in tow.

"Cover me" she said, slinging her rifle over her shoulder to free up her hands. The infantry Neko's hunkered down to fire on anything that came from beyond the shutter as Natsumi went to work.

She was no engineer, but she had enough systems and electronics training to try and override the shutter and close. It.

Team 2 Storage Room

As Helen's order's came through Misato sent a message to her escorts to center their fire on the Door way to the hangers. "WE need to get through there, She wanted to make sure they all made safely through this operation, 'no one left behind' kept running trough her head.

As she kept one eye on the read out for her escorts she fired her smg at the enemy with the suit's AI firing away with the Gauss rifle. She tried to push forward toward the door well with her shield in front of her, she knew the only hope for her neko unit was to get though that door.

NMX Escort Ship - Docking Section

A few moments after Helen turned her attention away from Reika -- giving up the faint hope of awakening her with several well-placed kicks -- the battered neko lying unconscious upon the cold floor exhaled sharply and released a groan of pain. The injured neko's eyes fluttered open slowly, her vision an indistinct haze, and an intense throbbing ache saturated her awareness. Among is myriad sources were a bloody gash upon the side of her head and a missing clunk of flesh at the base of her right shoulder. During the firefight in the cloning chamber a pair of NMX projectiles had clipped her armored body.

As Reika's vision slowly righted itself and her awareness became more clear, she fumbled around and came to the realization that she was no longer in the cloning chamber and that she was missing her rifle -- having fallen from her grip when she was shot. With a grimace, the neko slowly stood, though it seemed to her as if every joint was now afire and every hesitant action would in nearly blinding agony.

Blinking slowly, the neko focused on her surroundings and realized from the subtle differences in structural design that she was inside an NMX ship. She must have been out cold for quite a while.

Finally noticing Helen standing nearby and going through the process of deploying her drones, Reika spoke to the officer -- her gratitude immediately apparent in the tone of her voice. "Klein-Shosa, thank you for not leaving me behind... I'm--" Reika shuddered, as pain wracked her body for a moment and stole her ability to speak. She forced herself to ignore it in the attempt to finish saying her piece. "-- I'm sorry I let you down, ma'am."

Falling in beside Helen, Reika readied the forearm weapon on her good arm and instructed her suits AIES to deploy her own drones, in imitation of Helen.

Team 1

Sune took stock of his munitions as he had instructed the others. He also recycled his shield modules so that in the next engagement they would be a full potential. He watched the members of the Eucharis crew going about their assignments. For the moment there was nothing else he could do but wait, watch and be ready to react.

Team 1

With the door cleared, the team was able to get into the core area where they found themselves on the lower decks in a curved corridor. The interior section was covered in various monitors, sensors, and coolant lines while the exterior wall was covered by an armored radiation shield. This level was abandoned but there were ramps and ladders up to the main area where shouting they could hear panicked shouting. A voice came over the intercom: “Star Army intruders: Surrender now and you will be spared,” it promised.

Team 2

Going through the ship was going pretty smoothly for Helen and Reika. Most enemies they encountered were Nekovalkyrja in gray coveralls, who they could easy drop with a stun blast. As they approached the control room, a bunch of Rippers gathered in front of them to defend it.

YSS Eucharis Bridge

The teleportation coordinates were relayed to the YSS Vesper.

NMX Escort Ship

"Glad to see you're awake Reika." Helen spoke, as she finished sweeping the space outside of the docking area. Briefly she looked to Reika, with a soft smile hidden behind her helmet. "If I let you die back there, you would not have learned anything from this mission. How could I deprive an up and coming operative the opportunity to grow from a mission? More so, how could I let you die without giving you a chance to prove yourself?" Her momentary kindness came through in her tone, as she then returned her focus to the mission.

As she went through the ship, she did not merely stun the NMX they ran into, she instead gave each one a three round burst from her SMG. One in the head, two in the chest. She was not sure how long they were going to be taking a ride on the captured ship, and she was not about to risk having a few of the enemy waking up from a stun induced nap while in the middle of their mission. When her SMG ran dry, Helen returned it to the holster strip on the side of her Kylie's thigh, before her hand went to the other thigh, and drew her NSP. Again she resumed the process of clearing the way, until they ran into the Rippers.

Helen was fortunate enough to have her drone spot the Rippers, instead of coming around the corner to catch a face full of aether. Her armored hand went to her exposed chest, as she thought to how the Ripper in the clone room had managed to cleave so easily through her Zesuaium chest plate. Now, that was past, and part of her was distinctively soft, vulnerable, and exposed. At the very least though, she could do something about the inevitable heat bleed-off which would come from the encounter, as she mustered a quantity of metallic compounds from her bloodstream, causing them to form at the surface of her exposed skin, as magnetic forces worked to form the new covering to a proper form and thickness to blend in with her armor, certainly no where near as resilient, but, it would keep her chest from being an obvious target, she figured.

As Helen went about covering herself, she looked to Reika and spoke to her telepathically; "Rippers around the corner, I've marked the first target on our AIES. The plan is, I take a kneeling position and pop around the corner and fire at that one, and you lean out and do the same. Half second burst, then we duck back behind cover. During the barrage, I'll mark the next target, and we'll repeat until we've thinned them down to one or two, then we will advance." Helen ordered. She knew the Rippers would have undoubtedly spotted her drone, and were forming their own game plan, so, it was time to go into action.

"Reika, ready, set, go!" Helen spoke from down low, on a knee, as she then rolled out enough to put her two forearm cannons around the corner, to blast the targeted Ripper, using the surface vision of her Kylie to aim, instead of putting her head in the line of fire. As Helen fired upon the enemy, she opened a communication line to the Eucharis, before moving behind cover again.

"Where is that reinforcement?" Helen transmitted, sounding mildly burdened. "We've cleared the way to the bridge, and have encountered Rippers at the entry way. We need another body here to make sure this gets done right!"

Core

"Infantry, locate all entrances and I want weapons on them until we are ready to move.

Nayacesen-Shoi check out this room, see if we can sabotage the reactor from here. Riko-Hei you are with him as we will probably need to use what is left of the explosives to crippled the system.

Yamashiro-Hei I want you to head upwards with caution. Look for a way out of here that does not use the normal passages. If we have to fight our way through the corridors and deal with blast shutters all the way. We will never reach the escape ship.

Konoka-Hei, use this time to tend to the wounded. We need to keep as many of them on their feet as possible. We still have along haul to make." Sune said to the Eucharis team members once he was in and had a brief look around.
