Re: [Mission 19.3]

Shuttle Bay

"Figured that would be the case" Natsumi sighed. "I just hope they send someone to hose us off soon.." she added. "I just realized how hungry I am" she glanced back at the filthy shuttle, caked in dirt and spores and at the trail of green goo that connected them to the small craft. "what a mess"

Re: [Mission 19.3]

"Attention! Quarantine is now in full effect." Charisma's voice could be heard throughout the ship. "All access to the Shuttle Bay is prohibited without proper AMES gear. Any personnel coming in contact with any unknown agents should be immediately decontaminated and inspected. Koizumi-Hei, Valencia-Juni has requested the presence of a Science Officer in the Shuttle Bay to collect samples."

-------------------------------

"I agree, hopefully it shouldn't be too long. These new guys need to learn not to keep people as important as us waiting."

Leaning back, Ramiro looked up at the ceiling and called out, "Thanks Charisma!"

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Shuttle Bay

Sienna was the last one off the shuttle, her comparatively plain-looking AMES suit making her significantly less noticable than the imposing suits of cyborg armor thundering down the ramp. The miscellaneous innards from the broken console she'd recovered from the bridge of the crashed ship were still tucked under her arm and looped around her shoulder.

She shook her head and sighed with a half-grin as she rolled her eyes slightly as Ramiro's little stunt sent a greener-looking crew member scurrying off the shuttle bay like a terrified rodent. It was entirely unnecessary, and Sienna herself wasn't sure she wouldn't have reacted the same way if her first experience aboard this ship had been fewer luxurious showers and hot meals and more being threatened by walking robotic armor bristling with weapons. Still, she couldn't help be at least a little amused by it, even though she probably wouldn't let him know. The irony of seeing him roll around on his back while encased in a menacing mechanical suit of death just added to the absurd hilarity.

Suppressing a chuckle, she stepped down from the ramp behind the rest of the group, saying nothing. A disembodied voice boomed throughout the shuttle bay, pratling on about decontamination. Great. When she'd come up from Urtullan it had been nothing more than some sulfur dust and sweat. This time she was covered in God-knew-what, and the slop was probably alive on some level, or at least was at one time. There would be no telling how long she'd be stuck in the med bay this time. She sighed quietly again, telling herself it wouldn't be so bad. As long as they didn't ask her to wear another one of those ridiculous floral body suits again.

Stopping on the deck of the shuttle bay with some intentional distance between herself and the rest of the away team, she placed her free hand on her hip and looked around for any other sign of a welcome. She was glad that her initial suspicion about the nature of this little expedition proved incorrect. Still, she intended to keep her wits about her and not let herself be put in a compromising situation again if she could help it. She was better than that. She knew that she was at their mercy and a guest aboard their ship, but she needed to make sure that she held some of the cards as well.

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Bridge

Sune was uncertain why the away team was wanting some biological mess they encountered examined, but it was interfering with their mission.

He turned to Chieko, "Koizumi-Hei, head down to the shuttle bay. Suit up in an AMES before you enter. Gather samples in containers. Then go through decontamination and then get them to the Medical lab."

He picked up the handset and dialed the Shuttle bay. "Bridge to Away team. Koizumi-Hei will be coming down to gather samples. However, if you are all covered in the same substance. Only one of you needs to remain in the shuttle bay. The rest of the team should proceed through the Armor bay and into Decontamination to clean their suits."

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Twitching her nose a bit, Sienna took a step towards the armor bay. "Well I ain't gonna volunteer," she said in response to the loudspeaker announcement. "I'm gonna go get this crap hosed off."

She tilted her head up toward the ceiling as she walked. "Hey, uh, Carrie-- Carson--" she stuttered, snapping her fingers repeatedly as she tried to remember what the crew members called the ship's invisible overlord. "Charisma!" she continued, shoving her extended index finger into the air in front of her as she remembered. "Can ya point me to decontamination?"

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Shuttle bay

"Yeah, I'm out of this mess too" Natsumi said and fell into step with Sienna, marching for the Power Armor bay. "It's over here" the Neko said and pointed as she directed Sienna through the hatch and to the decontamination area where they could hose off the too and slime

"Okay Charisma, start the decontamination sequence" Natsumi said once she stood in the right spot

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Bridge

"Right away," Chieko replied, making her way from the bridge. Her eyes maintained their look of intense focus as she moved with purpose, yet did not run. The scientist's next destination was the medical lab for collection supplies.

Med Lab

The academic quickly floated her way down the zero gravity corridor with practiced skill and entered the corridor to medical without putting her feet down. Chieko opened the door to the lab still hovering, finally going back to walking once across the threshold and noticed the two new medics were there. "Hello," she began, "you wouldn't happen to have any sealable sterile vials around, would you?"

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Shuttle Bay/Decontamination Area

An arrow appeared on Sienna's HUD that guide her to the doorway from the shuttle bay into the decontamination area, where the showers were already running, spraying a bath of water, soap, and nanomachines over Natsumi, causing the teal slime to pool on the floor below.

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Decontamination Area

Natsumi smiled as the water and nano machines did their work. It was funny taking a shower in full power armor, but she was glad to be rid of the slime. "Come on in, the water's fine!" she said as Sienna entered.

Re: [Mission 19.3]

As Chieko entered, Ayumi was immediately aware that she was very excited. Ayumi straightened up as the Minkan entered the room, with a short bow she said, "Certainly." Now she knew her initial search of the cupboards had definitely helped her in the long run, not that she'd been concerned about it to start with.

She quickly made her way over to the cupboard with the sealable vials and pulled out four, making certain that if Chieko needed more than one she would have them. She returned to the other new crew member, holding out the vials, "Be safe." She stated softly, hardly a request or even an order, just a statement.

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Decontamination Area

Sienna didn't argue with Natsumi's invitation; she couldn't possibly be rid of the slime quickly enough, even if it wasn't touching her or making her sick with what had to be the foul stench of rot. It just felt extremely unpleasant to know that the goo was clinging to her suit.

Wading through the pool of diluted slop that was rinsing off of Natsumi's power armor, she stepped into an adjacent jet of soapy water and nanites that immediately went to work scrubbing the mess off of her.

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Med Lab

Chieko bowed a thank-you to Ayumi in response to the Neko's movement to retrieve the vials then turned her attention to the rest of the Medical Lab, taking in the locations of the major items - the Containment Cells in particular. When the Medic returned with the requested items the scientist looked at the four and nodded before taking them with both hands and another polite bow, "Thank-you very much for the assistance, this should be sufficient. And you too."

She was about to leave then she stopped and grabbed a few tongue depressors, "just in case" the adviser commented before making her way to the door. "Itte kimasu," she smiled, again trying not to run as she made the exit.

Power Armour Bay

The academic's next destination was the Power Armour Bay to pick up an AMES, after which she made her way aft. Then, before entering any of the rear sections, Chieko pulled her science scanner holster off her belt, setting it aside with the vials, and began donning the the space suit. Once dressed in the protective layer, she hooked her science scanner onto a loop, stuffed the vials and depressors into the available pockets, and put on the helmet, sealing it into place.

Shuttle Bay

After ensuring the integrity of her suit and the seals, the science adviser made her way into to the Shuttle Bay and looked around. Upon seeing the remaining two hulking power armours she bowed respectfully. "Koizumi-Hei at your service," Chieko begain in her usual Yamataian, pulling out a vial and a tongue depressor, "Who is first?"

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Shuttle Bay

By this point Ramiro was lying on his back, hands behind his head, with one leg resting on the other knee. Looking over at the other new guy, he shook his head.

"Greenie. Hurry over here and take your sample so I can clean off and get out of this armor. You don't want to keep me from my food, I can promise you."

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Shuttle Bay

Takeyu had been standing on the shuttle's boarding ramp, mostly quiet. He didn't really do much as his mind was preoccupied with the mission and what'd gone on, he was already creating an AAR for the Shosho to review.

Although he was pondering whether this goo that was on their armor 'was' in fact sentient or not.

"Yea," Takeyu said, his voice booming through his helmets external speakers. "Ramiro can be quite the bear when he goes without food for awhile," he walked down the boarding ramp and toward the greenie, standing beside Ramiro and folding his arms over his chest while he waited.

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Bridge

Sune gave commands via Charisma to bring up the drives. As he walked over to the Starship Operators panel. When the console showed that the STL engines were online, he programmed a maneuver to take the Eucharis out of orbit and on a trajectory away from the planet.

He started programming the coordinates for the area that Chieko had identified as a potential source.

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Decontamination

Sienna continued to be impressed with the sophisticated technology of her suit as the HUD on her visor now gave her a visual cue that she was finished getting scrubbed. Stepping out of the cleansing spray, she looked down to see the last of the soapy nanite-solution fall away from her, and was further shocked to see that not only was there no trace whatsoever of the alien muck, but she was also already almost completely dry as well. The nanomachines did quite a job.

Stepping out of the decontamination area, she followed Natsumi back to the power armor bay. As they got there, she remembered with a soft groan that she had left her clothing back in her cabin. "Guess I should wait to start getting out of this getup till everyone else is clean?" she asked, mostly to Natsumi but loudly enough so that the ship's computer could hear as well. "I gotta go back and get my clothes either way."

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Decontamination

Natsumi was so happy her MINDY was now super shiny clean and free of green slime! Dry, she returned to the power armor bay and removed her helmet. She began powering her armors systems down once she had settled it into its storage spot.

"You can leave the helmet and stuff here, then go back to your quarters and change the rest of the way there" she commented to Sienna. "Then just bring the rest of the suit back later" she smiled.

Then Natsumi started extracting herself from her MINDY, blushing as she pulled her naked form out of the heavy powered armor suit. She then padded barefoot to her locker, withdrew her clothing and proceeded to dress herself. Within a minute she was once again in her uniform and brushing out her long snowy hair.

"Mmmm feels so good to be out of that!" she sighed happily.

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Power Armor Bay

"Great," Sienna replied as she reached up to unseal her helmet. She felt her ears pop a little as the slight difference in pressure equalized with a hiss. Lifting the helmet off, she shook her head roughly and ran one of her gloved hands through her shortish hair, further surprised to find that she hadn't sweated inside the suit nearly as much as she had expected. She was so accustomed to welding masks and similar gear in a much cruder working environment than this.

With a long, comfortable sigh, she glanced at Natsumi but quickly averted her eyes upon seeing her naked. Sheesh, not much modesty around here, she thought once more, still adjusting to how little shame Nekos possessed. "I'll just leave this here and change," she continued. "Back in a bit." She set the helmet down on one of the benches, and headed back towards her cabin.

Cabin 6

Her head still slightly spinning from launching herself haphazardly through the zero-G passageway and very nearly overshooting her target, missing knocking her face against the wall by inches, Sienna opened the door to her cabin and stepped inside. The sight of the functional but inviting-looking cabin furnishings made her feel warm inside, almost moved. After years spent sleeping on grungy mattresses and cold alley surfaces, she still felt like she was dreaming. The memory of the night she'd spent here cuddled up in that soft mattress and clean, crisp sheets and blankets was very fresh on her mind, and even though she was starving and not yet sleepy, she was almost anxious to strip down and crawl into that heavenly bunk once again.

As she closed the door and began to extract herself from the AMES, she caught a glimpse of some unfamiliar effects lying neatly on an open military-style duffel bag. Instinctively she glanced back at the bottom bunk; her belongings were still there in the messy pile she'd left them. "Huh," she muttered quietly to herself, resuming the task of removing her suit. "They musta given me a roommate." She hoped they wouldn't kick her out of the cabin and make her sleep on a floor someplace, but given her accommodations so far aboard this ship, she couldn't imagine that would be so bad either.

The cool air on her bare skin gave her goosebumps immediately. Once again she found herself amazed at how remarkably clean she was; the suit had done a fabulous job of keeping itself at a comfortable temperature. There was hardly a drop of sweat or grime on her body, and a shower wasn't necessary. Still, however, she figured she'd try to steal one later that evening anyway, once she'd gotten a meal in her belly. The sensation of her only other shower aboard the ship had been so wonderful before.

Wasting no time, she dropped the suit in a heap on the floor and moved over to her bunk in her skivvies and socks, and snatched up her tank top, pulling it over her head and sliding it over her torso. Then she stepped into her dark cargo pants, wiggling her legs and hips into them. With a satisfied smile she buttoned them over her shirttail and encircled her waist with her belt. The AMES was an amazing piece of equipment, and she'd kind of enjoyed the chance to wear it, but it felt great to be looking like herself again.

She sat on the edge of the bed and started pulling her boots onto her feet.

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Med Lab

Izokia floated back into the med lab still dejected with a slight ache in her forehead. She saw Ayumi standing almost exactly where she was when she left to go to shuttle bay. She was too depressed about the other crew members in other parts of the ship to really be unnerved by Ayumi lack of movement. "So I geuss the science officer came by to grab some things to check the away team. I'll just wait here then ". She sat down with a sigh and slowly began to hit her head lightly against one of the hemo tubes.

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Shuttle Bay

Chieko smirked at the prospect of the one getting grumpy then responded, "I'm running on empty too, believe it or not, and the only thing keeping me going right now is the prospect of something to study." She then made her way over to the reclining one and started checking him over as she removed the cap on the vial expertly with one hand. "Contaminated, contaminated, contaminated," the scientist sighed as she started scraping small globs off into the vial, then patted Ramiro's armour "Ok, you can go."

She then made her way over to the one with his arms crossed, sealing the vial she had and pulling out a new one, as well as a new stick. "By the way," Chieko started as she went around pulling small globs, "Did you guys find anything else alilve down there?" Once finished, the academic sealed the second vial and put it in with the first, to keep the clean and dirty separate, then looked towards Takeyu's faceplate.
