Orie looked pleased at her assignment of power armor. She may not have been fond of combat, but she could still appreciate a well-designed weapon when she saw one... and she found the idea of an aether blade nifty, whether or not she'd be allowed to use it. She already knew ahead of time that she wanted a type 28--trained in close-quarters combat, she was most familiar with SMGs and pistols. Besides, the rifles were half as long as she was tall. While strength wasn't an issue, especially in a power armor, she'd just look silly wielding one of them.

Joey straightened up as Tangozulu spoke again, then shut off his datapad, having finished with it. He had been taught how to use the three weapons the Ittou Heisho named off in training, and his father had taught him the finer points of using firearms, both in close combat and ranged combat. Thus, he didn't need to look up their info on his datapad. He simply approached the weapon racks with the rest of his team, awaiting approval to retrieve a G-5 from its place on the wall.

Once the group had arrived at the weapons racks, Sixthree walked up to the rack nearest him and grabbed a GP-5.

“This is the WickedArms GP-5 Maser Assault Rifle. It has a long and proud tradition in the Star Army. Its barrel design can be traced back to the primitive plutonium-slug rifles carried by the Nepleslian colonists who first populated this sector of space, and it probably goes back even further, to before known human history. The trigger is a bit rough on the hands, ergonomically speaking, but this rifle's firepower is still very much suitable for planetary and boarding missions, even after all these years.”

Sixthree then replaced the GP-5 back on the rack and retrieved a GP-12.

“Now is this here is the WickedArms GP-12B Phased Pulse Assault Rifle, a mainstay of our armed forces for many years. The B variant has a collapsible stock and a lighter weight than other models for easy carrying, which is offset by its inferior EMP shielding from the other models. It has a slower rate of fire than the GP-5, but because its shoots molecular disruptors, it should have better penetration power against heavily-armored targets, if we run into any.”

Carrying the GP-12 over his shoulder, Sixthree walked over to the adjacent rack and picked up a Type 28 SMG with his remaining hand.

“Finally, we have the Ketsurui Zaibatsu Type 28 Nekovalkyrja Submachinegun. This gun essentially packs the same punch and has the same firing rate as the GP-12, and because it is a more modern gun than the other two, it uses a more advanced battery and thus has a much higher ammo capacity. However, anyone bigger than the average Nekovalkyrja may find this gun too small and 'fiddly' to be easily-weld, especially after you put on your power armor. I don't recommend this gun for non-Nekovalkyrja crew, except maybe as a back-up weapon.”

Sixthree placed the Type 28 SMG back on the rack. “Now, everyone grab a gun that they like, and let me know if you have questions. Our power armors should be here shortly.”

Meanwhile, Aurore marched onto the bridge. “Itkatsu-Shosa, have a seat. I want you to be ready to take over the helm if needed. Hayasaka-Chusa, go ahead and visit the med bay. Pilots, status report.”

“We are ready to jump, Branard-Taisho, sir,” replied one of the Neko pilots through an audio channel, her real voice muffled by the dome enclosing her.

“And our escorts?” demanded Aurore.

“Our Yui-class and Ketsueki-class escorts have docked with us, sir,” responded one of the comm officers. “Our six Arashi-class escorts have requested permission to remain here and guard the hospital ship, sir.”

“Fine. They don't have to come with us. Jump when ready,” Aurore ordered.
