Errowyn went through her system at the fifteen second mark, for the final pre battle checks. Then as the Fold disapated and the return to sublight speeds. IFF indicator went active.
As the enemy ships began to register on her threat indicator along with the numbers, her heart rate soared with an intence flood of aderenaline into her system, causing her biometric reading flash amber in warning then to red as some of the NMX ships disappeared from her threat indicators.
Dealing with 1 verses 2 was okay and the planetary defences from enemy as they escorted the transports to the planet base camp she had no worries, just did what was expected of her. Not even during the training/test period before being released to the fleet, they had faced these odds.
Errowyn froze, eyes wide as she watched the others getting into position and paring up. Bunch of symbols and icons scrolled incomprehensile before her eyes as she sat there motionless with her heart racing.
Ears picking up incomprehensile voices of the others as they joked and alerted each other.
Her Kawarime flew in a steady level flight. She breathed in short gasping breaths. Somewhere in her subconscious, her skills and training kicked in and she slowly manuevered her fighter alongside the assigned gunship she was suppose to be excorting. Abit head of it, to be the first to face the NMX.
Time seamed to expand for her, turning seconds into minutes as if she was moving in molasses and the NMX were put in fast forward motion. Then a quick flashback to the raiders of the Akagane in her last sorty with them.
She growled low within her, audible to be heard over open tactical coms. Eyes darting over her combat load with a very small offensive load and a high defencive load. Wondering why she was even carrying the stuff if she was going to battle. The mix ratio was usually higher offensive armenents than defence measure. She darted to her fuel load and it was barely registering the current usage.
Her biometrics reading still in the red as her mind raced over the given data. Still advancing on the enemy, keeping up barely with the rest of the squadron. But each second past with her dropping back and the gunships were slowly catching up to her from behind.
