Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Once through her turn getting her ST backup, which luckily didn't hurt much due to her relatively short life, Rin quickly scurried off to engineering. She was rather glad Nao had filled her in on the meeting. At least this way she would appear less incompetent, or something.

Upon arrival amongst the machinery, Rin peered about. If there was a meeting, where was everyone? The only one she could find was Tom. She quietly stood and waited, nervously looking about. Did she miss another announcement? After all, the others should be there, right?

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Miyoko took Masako's presence as a welcome reprieve, and did her best to ignore Sanjuro as she answered the shorter neko's question. "There will probably be a bit of a wait, but it shouldn't be too long. With everybody getting their backups at once, it's a bit of a fire drill."

Only once she finished that did she respond to Sanjuro, raising her voice a little to make sure he heard her. "Standard medical procedure also overlooks the fact that I have to be on the bridge in less than half an hour, at which point my backup should be completed." She stepped up to the control panel and started initializing the device, pressing the buttons a bit harder than she necessarily needed to. "You'll need a backup too. We can administer each other's toward the end."

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Yukari listened to Nyton and Kotori talk back and forth, but most of her mind was wrapped around Miharu's hull. She wanted to remain as focused as possible. The note about the Uriko bombers was filtered into the rest of her "dataverse." Her hands were filled with glowing, volumetric blue controls — one a flight stick, the other a mini-keypad.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Almost as soon as Miyoko began setting up the machinery, Sanjuro immediately shot a hand forward between the science specialist and the control panel and, with a little effort, quickly began to push her away. "I don't think so," spoke in an uncharacteristically venomous tone before melting back into the usual drone. "I will handle the mechanisms, you may watch the transfer data to make sure the information is being relayed smoothly and properly. Afterward, I will help you with yours if you wish and you may leave while I transfer my own data myself."

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Masako nodded to Miyoko as she entered the line at the end, observing the two in action. There attitudes were getting dangerously close to out right belligerent with each other from what the Warrant Officer could see. And such things like conflict among allies usually lower morale and lead to tension.

But Masako waited in line. And while she waited her turn, the short Neko also continued to observe the duo. If they continued this, she would have to step in and stop this from affecting the others.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Fortunately, Miyoko wasn't set on controlling things herself, though she still pointed out, "I was handling the backups before you arrived, Heisho. I can handle them." Only the fact that she was trying to keep this from escalating to blows kept her from adding more onto that as she stepped over to the data monitor.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Kyou made it to the armor bay, and began running over her armor with practiced hands. Can't take any chances right now, we'll be hurting enough as it is, no need for unnecessary casualties... For the moment at least, she ignored the banter between the others in the bay, doing a rather remarkable imitation of Nimura's apathy.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

"Not as far as I'm concerned," Sanjuro mumbled, not bothering to take his immediate attention away from the control panel. After his remark, the doctor remained relatively silent as they proceeded to take the Soul Transfer of the sprite. Before long, Sanjuro was assisting the crewmember out of the chair and back into the hallway before promptly moving back up to Miyoko at her station. The tall Yamataian idly stretched his wrist as he looked down at the agitated neko.

"Bring Kurohoshi-Juni in, Saito-Hei, while I review your information."

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Kai finally made his way into the Armor bay, mussing with his now short hair. the change was one that anyone who paid attention to the tall Yamataian would notice, but he acted as if there was no difference. Making his way towards a spot where he could wait, he noticed something odd, among all the nekos gathered, there was a man. One very short Malifaran he knew as Asher.

What the heck was Asher doing here?

Kai voiced his confusion with a simple questioning call of a Name.

"Asher?"

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Rin was soon followed by Ichigo and a few of the other sprites. More trickled in every second.

The engineer shared a smile and a nod with the young Rin, as well as the others who came in.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Miyoko stayed silent through the rest of the backup process... though it took all of her self-control to not start acting out some of her more violent fantasies at Sanjuro's last comment. She spent the time preparing for his inevitable interference by doing her best to keep her displays as organized as possible, while noting each and every irregularity in the process. Just this once, she would play along to speed things along. There would be a reckoning for this humiliation, but not at this very moment.

When he asked for Masako, she stepped out into the medbay at large to gesture the neko in. "The doctor will see you now," she said, putting as much contempt into the word 'doctor' as she could.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Rin was rather relieved at the sight of other sprites joining her. She gave a bow to the head engineer, and another, smaller, bow to greet her sisters.

She took a deep breath and slowly breathed out.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Masako grimaced at both Sanjuro and Miyoko as it seemed to get worse. "That will be enough you two," the Warrant Officer snapped at them without even raising her voice. Her tone did, however, carry an edge of command in it. "I don't know exactly what your problem is," Masako began as she placed her hands upon her hips. Though I have a sneaky suspicion about how it started, was all the raven-haired Warrant Officer could think before continuing.

"And quite frankly, that is something you two need to settle. But not at the expense of professional courtesy and not at the expense of crew morale." Masako stated as she glowered at both of them. "Now show each other some measure of respect, or I will bring more senior officers into this manner. And you would not want the Taisa to get involved, am I clear?"

The small Warrant Officer didn't move at this point as she continued to glare at the two enlisted with obvious disappointment in both of them.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Masako's words, as threatening as they were coming from the diminutive Warrant Officer, seemed to pale in comparison to the myriad of emotions Sanjuro was experiencing. Sanjuro continued to glare burning daggers at Miyoko for a second or two after Masako's remarks before mellowing back into his somber self. "Very well," he stated plainly, leading the officer to the ST device and beginning to prep her for the procedure, doing his absolute best to both ignore Miyoko completely for the time being while still ensuring that she was doing her appointed job correctly.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Getting reprimanded wasn't something Miyoko had experienced particularly often... by somebody she actually respected, even less commonly. The Yamataian was wordless for just a moment, a bit of a flush sneaking up her cheeks from Masako's glare. "Understood," she responded, rather more flatly than she'd been speaking earlier. She didn't even make an attempt to explain her actions, mostly because it would be impolite to curse profusely in this situation. As Sanjuro led Masako to the ST device, she turned silently to attend to her own duties.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

With his checklist done, and his armor passing inspection, Asher stood back from his suit and took in the sight of the most beautiful lady on the ship. She had the body and she had the bite, basically everything the Yamataian could want from a girl. The best part, is that he'd sliding right into her in only few moments before the mission.

Her name was Daisy.

Asher head shot around for a moment, being drug from it's daydreaming.

"Yeah?" asked the Yamataian, not knowing who Kai was, "You need somethin' pally?"

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Satisfied for the moment that they would behave, Masako allowed herself to be led onto the ST device. Laying back as Sanjuro prepared her, she laid her arms at her sides and took a slow breath. She knew this could only be a temporary measure. Whatever was affecting Sanjuro and Miyoko had to be solved between them eventually, but they couldn't afford for them to act this way during the most important mission of their lives. Masako even felt bad that she had to go that far and interfere in their personal problems, but she wasn't sorry. It had to be done.

Oh well, a few moments of discomfort and she would be ready to return to the armor bay. Then she could get to work on suiting up her personnel and teaming them up. Though the question of who to team Tsuya with seemed to nag her a bit. That sudden kiss had certain led to some confusing emotions, that was for sure.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

"Hey, Kai!" Mara suddenly exclaimed, lifting her hand up in something of an exagerated greeting to Kai. She quickly scurried over to his side and started toying at the ends of his significantly shorter hair. "Did someone cut off some of your hair in a prank? That's mean! I loved your long bishie hair!"

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

"My.. What? Huh?" Kai was suddenly lost in a flurry of Mara talking at him and grabbing his hair and whatnot. "I had Yuzuki cut it for me.." he muttered as Asher simply greeted him rudely, as if the man didn't know him.

"When did Asher get here, and why's he so mean?" The Yamataian asked, trying to extricate Mara's fingers from the ends of his hair.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Mara seemed hard to deter; as soon as one hand was thwarted she used the other to keep playing with Kai's blonde hair.

"He doesn't remember you," Mara gamely answered. "The last time he had a ST Backup, you had just come on board. You two probably never met before he left to be an instructor at Fort Ready."
