RP: 21st Fighter Sq [Mission 8.2] Of bluffs and calls

With the tumbler long since emptied, Marco sipped at his lager, and watched both the arrival of a second new member and the Nepleslian named Sillic that they'd been talking about earlier. As far as the mission and the newly encountered species? Marco remained silent. He hadn't been on the mission and there was only so much a man could glean from eavesdropping on flight chatter during an operation. It wasn't until Sillic had arrived and regarded him as some of the "fresh meat" that Marco gave a polite smile and a wave to him.

"Its a pleasure to meet you, I'm one of the new pilots. Marco Weismuller. You must be Sillic Vas, right?"

Gunbreaker took his sweet time getting to the safety valve. Only considering heading there after he has taken a couple trips between his ship and his room, and arranged his new accommodations exactly the way he wanted. It wasn't to surprising that he took so much time doing this, considering the time and effort he expended outlining exactly how he was going to modify his Phantasm. Though he went to these extremes with his living space, the same couldn't be said for his choice of attire. Once he decided to leave, he simply changed into a plain white shirt, a pair of dark, unworn bluejeans, and a simple black cloth jacket. He looked casual as could be, but it suited him well. Upon leaving, he took a moment to link up with the ships AI, and overlay directions to the bar into a simple AR process, giving him a glowing road straight to the door. He passed the order to open it to the ships AI, and stepped through without breaking stride. He already knew where everyone was apparently, as he turned straight at them, selected a seat on the way there, and promptly placed himself there.

It had been a while sense he'd bothered to manage the growth of his symbiont's, causing a silver sliver to be visible as it worked its way up his neck. His shirt was spotless and bright, having seen virtually no use, just like his pants. the jacket on the other hand, appeared well used. It bore a simple, clean patch, proudly displaying his home fleets colors, sitting on a ribbon with "TWO FOUR" embroidered on it.
Gunbreaker peered around at the gathered faces. His chipset quickly made images of each of them, saving them to individual files it created on the fly. He would remember every detail divulged over the course of the meeting, recorded and time-stamped.
He gave Akemi a polite nod, and began quietly listening.

Kayo walked into the Safety Valve and looked around at the new people. After making her way cautiously around Gunbreaker she took a seat. She briefly contact the MEGAMI Hiromi about the new guys. She looked over at Silic. "Hey, Tin Man, looks like you might have to give up that call sign."

Akemi looked at the squadron. "Well as you can see Star Army Personnel is still using sending us unique soldiers to fill our numbers. At least we will have more birds in the air when we go on our next Sorte."

As Silic was about to reply, Gunbreaker stepped past him and took a seat. Silic's mouth stay open for a second as he took the Freespacers appearance, although Silic assumed the man was Nepleslian from the lack of radioactivity and metal bits. His eyes then turned backed to Marco and his still pointing finger stiffened again, it raised as though he was about to make a point, and then Silics glass of beer was on his face as he took a good, solid, thirsty series of gulps of the golden nectar.

Sighing as the glass left his lips he turned back to Marco.

"Listen kid, if you're like most of the other rookies we get you're probably going to die. So survive I week and I might learn your name, until then you're a walking body to me."

His eyes looked Marco and Alfsigr up and down. They pop out of the damn woodwork, or something? Went through his head.

"On that note, though. Try to stay alive."

With that the man with the metal hand turned and made is way over to sit next to Anne, the best looking company in the entire squadron in his opinion. Although he may have been biased from years of suffering at the hands of wild, feral neko throughout his time in the Star Army.

Akemi looked over at Silic. "Well, I for one am grateful that we have you with us Silic. You have a singular way of seeing things, and keep things from getting boring. Which is why I am considering assigning you to be my EWO. Or perhaps you would prefer to finally sit in the front seat, and have Anne be your EWO?"

She took a sip of wine to let Silic mull over his options. "I do not know our next mission, but I have heard scuttlebutt about the Nocturne Gate. A nasty place full of gravimetric shears and em blackout zones."

Anne shuffled to the side on her seat, so Silic had a spot next to her. After all she did not mind him being close at all. Being his EWO, would be okay too, since she would not have to worry about him. On the other hand she saw him fly in past, and that would mean she would have to worry about them both. That was quite a concern to have.

"I would not mind doing EWO for Silic," Anne chimmed in. "Especially since, the flyer I use is not the best for frontal combat with its sensor array and limited armament. Sounds like perfect thing for Silic to fly. And I have more time to monitor scanners and our lifesigns on the backseat anyway. I am fairly sure, that we will have a great need of that, should we go to that Nocturne Gate place."

Silic looked around in concern as took a seat, giving Anne's bottom a quick, cheeky, stealhy pinch as he settled down. Eyes eyes went from Anne to Akemi, or at least that's what the shift of his head suggested behind those sunglasses.

"Well, I mean, I guess I can fly next time. I mean, as long as Hibiyashi can't try to kill me or anything when we come back." He said with a clear note of uncertainty, burying his face in his mug after he spoke to finish his piece.

Anyone familiar with Silic's flying would indeed understand the cause of such hesitation. But he'd have Anne with him, so maybe it wouldn't be so bad. Maybe she'd even force him to stick on his best behavior for this one. Somehow.

Anne shuffled a bit and gave a cheeky frown to Silic and his pinching shenanigans. She then shuffled a bit closer to him, her thigh brushing against his under the table, where others could not see. "I am sure it will be fine." Anne gave Akemi a nod.

Silic kept his face in his mug as his face reddened slightly at the brush of her thigh, and he kept drinking despite the fact that he would very clearly soon need more oxygen. Not even the nectar of the gods could completely replace air forever.

Safety Valve

Errowyn padded through the ship corridors, wearing a simple hospital ward gown and a leather bomber jacket with "Hellcat" in an arc over a roaring Saber tooth tiger and underneath was "21rst Fighter Squadron "Fighting Diamonds"".

She entered the Safety Valve and walked to the bar, "Orange slushy," with her back to the room,"Please put this in here." Placing a large bottle with a straw sticking out of the top, on the bar counter.

She glanced around the bar, pushing her tangled uncombed hair out of her face, taking note of those present. Not recognizing anyone in the brief glance, paying for the drink and grabbing it. She exited with a mutter, "Back to the grindstone." as she left the Safety Valve with her drink.

Errowyn padded through the corridors back to Medical before they missed her. She wondered what the next mission held in store for the squadron.
