"We can walk," one of the prisoner nekos said, groggily getting up from the examination table. "I'm Santô Hei Victory Kuroki," she added. She was a busty, cream-colored NH-29 with cute dark brown eyes and green hair in a ponytail.

The other sat up as well. "Nitô Heisho Tokuhichi Erika...combat infantry." She was a businesslike light gray NH-27 with almond-shaped golden eyes and crew cut black hair. "That makes us five that can carry and eight to haul. If the power armors each take one and the nekos each take two, we can make it. You two," she said, pointing to the power armors, "need to have your gun hand free."

The Taisa came on the radio so that all Eucharis crew could hear her. "Alpha Team, Eucharis; Can you reach the shuttle bay? Junko has survived the crash. I want you to take her and your prisoners to the remaining shuttle and escape immediately. I will clear the bay for you. Bravo team be ready to teleport out."

The Taisa then left the bridge. "Blackberry, you have the bridge! Do not give up the ship!"

She started to heard to her power armor, but then she had a better idea. Seconds later she was in an AMES suit and strapped into the cockpit of the V6C Hayabusa starfighter she'd recently bought. "Stay strong, I am coming..."

"Alpha team to Eucharis, we are enroute to the shuttlebay. We will arrange to pick up Junko when we get there." Sune sent. One of the people is alive, injured but alive. That is a good thing at least. he thought. "Junko, we are on our way to the shuttle bay. Will pick you up once we arrive." he sent to the injured soldier.

"Okay, we need to move out now people. We have a soldier down that we need to rescue at the shuttle bay. I will take point, Nayacesen-Hei cover our backs. Use the examination tables to move as many of the people who can not move by themselves so we can move faster for as long as possible. We will abandon them when we must. Move out people." Sune moved to the doorway. He motioned for the NMX Neko to open the door while he stood ready to engage anything hostile in their way.

Re: [Mission 9.1] Tip Of The Spear

Aendri said:
Kumiko grimaced at how fast their NSBs were eliminated. "Himeya-Hei, take your charge and plant it in here. We need to get going. I'll drop mine off in an intersection or room on the way out." She took up a position near the door, watching back the way they came. "Hurry."

"Setting it up as fast as I can!" Nika replied back as she began setting the charge on the explosives, too preoccupied trying to it done, not aware that her armour was blaring warning signals...

The neko fell as laser beams slammed into the right side of her armour, burning through metal and biting through flesh and muscles, her left hand flailed about, hitting the control panel which controlled the shutter door.

The explosives, charged but not activated, fell from her right hand onto the floor, within an arm's distance...

Takeyu nodded and brought out his weapon; he quickly scanned the room just be sure but saw nothing at the moment, but he knew that could change.

He wheeled one of the empty examination tables and placed both of the children on it, he sighed and turned back around and watched and then started moving toward the door.

Though he did watch the Neko at one point; he knew he couldn't keep doing that and just had to hope the worker wouldn't try and turn them over by calling for help.

"Try it, and you're dead," he muttered under his breath to a point where only he could hear what he said.

With less than thirty seconds remaining, Sune and Takeyu ran down the empty cargo moving corridor and back towards the shuttlebay. Some prisoners were being pushed on carts while the rescue nekos preferred to carry the drugged up Yamataians and Nepleslians on their shoulders. The NMX neko, carrying a Nepleslian woman, led the way to a large blast shutter and typed in a code to open it. As it opened they could see the following:

  • The burning T7 Raccoon shuttle
  • The intact Kuma T8
  • A handful of Ripper power armors, several already dead. The rest were pinned down behind crates and firing at...
  • Taisa Hanako in a starfighter, hovering around the shuttlebay firing on any NMX armors that she saw.
  • An approaching shipyard about to ram into the side of the central complex they were on

- - -

A Ripper opened the blast shutter and raised its arm to finish off Nika and Kumiko. Others joined it. This was it.

Sune paused only for a moment to take in the scene. A Hayabusa? Where did Hanako come up with that? he wondered. The scene in the shuttle bay was hard to fully absorb, but there was Hanako floating above in the fighter living up to her species namesake. Sune somehow did not think the ancients from where the name came from have envisioned this.

He turned to Takeyu, "Get them to the shuttle, make sure it is safe then get them boarded. Including the NMX Neko. I am sure that our people will want to question here back home. Get the shuttle ready to leave on a moments notice." he said. "I am going to retrieve Takeda-Heisho."

He sent a command to his AIES to ping and locate Junko's armor. Once he had a location, he made his way quickly to her while keeping an eye on the Rippers. Leaping over the crates he landed beside her. He took a quick look at her and her suit readings. "Ready to go home Junko?" he said as he knelt down to pick her up. If the ship is still there? The fleet had better get here soon, we have definitely paid in enough blood this mission. he thought.

Takeyu leaped into action, he motioned for those they had rescued to follow him and half-sprinted toward the shuttle but kept an eye on the rippers, he saw the starfighter and had to wonder: "do all captains like to do this?" he asked himself and shook his head, no time to think on that considering what he saw just outside the hanger bays main doors.

"Wait," he held up a hand to the prisoners and quickly turned around and started inspecting the shuttle, both for damages and for any possible hidden enemies.

Junko looked up at Jalen with a slight nod and weak smile, too out of it to realize he couldn’t see either with her helmet still on. The initial anesthetic rush of shock over, she had lost the last of her composure with jolts and spasms of pain coming from limbs that were no longer there. Consciously trying to stop from ordering her legs to move didn’t make a bit of difference. Her body was fully in fight or flight mode and with literal flight impossible thanks to her armor damage, the instinct to run, walk, hobble, literally anything, was overriding her conscious commands. Her right hand still clamped with similar instinctual stubbornness around her NSP, she leaned forward as best she could and extended her left arm. For the moment, her little corner of the shuttle-bay was all she could focus on; compared to the shipmate standing before her with the promise of rescue, the chaos throughout the rest of the bay remained unnoticed.

"Go! Go!" Hanako shouted at the soldiers below her on the deck. She fired her missiles at a cluster of Ripper armors trying to enter the area, while continuing to pin down the remaining ones from earlier with her turrets.

The NMX neko stared at the oncoming shipyard for a second. "Let's get out of here!" she screamed at Junko, setting her prisoner down inside the back of the shuttle as she made her way to the cockpit. "It's ready to move! Get on or get left!"

Outside, the shipyard's shields strained against those of the central complex.

Takeyu was glad he didn't have to actually start the shuttle, it was already running. With that he merely did a quick check of the systems and was happy that nothing major was wrong, with that he keyed his headset. "Heisho hurry! We don't have much time!" he said to his squad leader.

He wanted to run a diagnostics but now wasn't the time, but as he was getting the shuttle ready to go - the armor diagnostics he had started earlier in the mission finally completed and displayed the damaged area of his PA armor. "Geez, took you long enough!" he shouted at his AIES.

No time to be delicate, he thought as Sune grabbed Junko's power armor and hefted it off the floor. Kicking the propulsion system in to assist he leapt over the same crates he had, and instead of running, flew straight at the entrance to the waiting Kuma.

Using the Power Armor's CFS he brought it to a stop just short of hitting the door. He looked around the shuttle bay to make sure there was no one left behind. He stepped into the airlock on the shuttle holding Junko in front of himself. Once inside, he hit the control for the outer door, he looked into the passenger area and seeing it filled to standing room only with the prisoners, he turned back to watch the door close and the indicator showed locked he yelled. "Launch....Now." as he braced himself against the wall and held his wounded crewmate against him. Time enough to perform triage and medical care aboard the Eucharis.

Takeyu nodded and took the control. He spun the shuttle around, keeping in mind any obstacles that might be in their way, when the nose was aimed toward space beyond - he hid the engines was pushed back into his seat.

The ceiling above them moved, and quickly disappeared, showing the stars beyond and the chaotic battle that was insueing. He was so concentrated on flying and avoiding anything in the area, that the only thing he could send to the Taisa was a simple 'We are clear' message.

Nika recovered from the shock quickly enough as the PA's emergency first aid activated, numbing the burning pain from her injuries. Quickly, she picked herself up and grabbed the charged explosives with her left arm, activated it, and tossed it into the power relay room for the station's shield system as she broke the door down.

Just then, the shutter door was forced opened by their pursuers, forcing the neko to move again, this time, dragging the still stunned Kumiko with her, smashing any panels that she passed, locking down the shutters to slow them down.

"This is Himeya-Hei," Nika called out as the duo burst into the evacuation area, only to see the Kuma already flew off, "Anyone going to pick us up as well?"

"Come on Kumiko... we need you..."

With the shuttle on its way back to the Eucharis, Sune entered the passenger area and gently lowered Junko to the floor. He then reached around to pull out the medical kit from his butt back. It had not survived entirely without mishap, but he was able to get the PMS-1 out and active. He injected Junko with a dose of the scanner microbots, and a pain blocker to help with her condition.

While he waited for the drugs to take affect and the microbots to get the data he needed on Junko he took a moment to relax. With his adrenalin and endorphin levels dropping now that they were out of immediate threat; his right shoulder reminded him of the injury to his right shoulder. It felt like a burn, but until he could remove his power armor he couldn't effectively tell what the extent of the injury was.

Nika felt Kumiko's hand grab her on the shoulder. "Don't worry, we're getting out of here," Kumiko said.

Just then, the Rippers started firing on them.

Nika and Kumiko vanished in a flash of light as Kumiko's teleportation unit activated.

As the Kuma holding the Eucharis team and their rescued prisoners shuttle shot out of the bay, followed by Hanako's fighter, the central complex's shields gave out and the shipyard smashed into the side with a massive, bright, and fiery explosion dwarfing the impacting shipyard. Chain reactions went off throughout both vessels, causing hull plates to bubble and then burst, sequentially tearing the shipyard apart until it was torn to shreds. When the blast faded the central complex's whole side was gone, leaving the remnants a blackened and smoldering hulk.

Around them hundreds of teal flashes shimmered as the Star Army of Yamatai's attack force arrived, instantly turning the shipyard into their killzone with thousands of aether and positron beams firing on the remaining NMX ships, shipyards, and any Mishhuvurthyar reinforcements trickling into the area. Now the Star Army forces heavily outnumbered the NMX.

The trip back to the Eucharis was mercifully short. They passed the damaged shuttle bay doors to land on the familiar glossy black floor. As soon as they were aboard, they could hear Hanako's voice on the radio. "Blackberry, we are back! Get us out of here before the ship falls apart!"

Eucharis and her squadron vanished from Sbuhfaba, on their way to a safer place...
