The Mission would involve a planetary expedition for Motoyoshi Eidan and the rest of his 紺碧軍団 Konpeki Gundan (Azure Legion) Team investigating the planet as a potential colony site. It would involve the team spending several weeks camping on the surface of the planet to research, collect samples, and investigate the planet's unique biosphere. (See SYNC - [Yugumo Merchant Spacy] Takagawa Hitomi)

As the Taka-class shuttle prepared to depart from the ISS Evenstar, Eidan felt anticipation coursing through his veins. Glancing at Kuroko, who sat in the other chair, he remarked, "Right then, here we go..." With a gentle release from the mothership's docking bay, the shuttle glided gracefully into the open expanse of space, leaving the familiar comfort of the Evenstar behind. Through the shuttle's windows, Eidan and his fellow crew members witnessed the vastness of space, with distant stars flickering like tiny beacons against the velvet backdrop of the cosmos. They watched as the Evenstar flashed into hyperspace, knowing that their lifeline was not immediately available, as it was needed to defend the cargo lanes between the Sharie System and the Kikyo Sector.

As the shuttle descended into Maridor's atmosphere, they could see the planet's surface gradually coming into view, its breathtaking landscapes unfolding beneath them. Crystal formations sparkled in the sunlight, casting prismatic reflections that mesmerized the observers. Luminal meadows stretched as far as the eye could see, their iridescent hues painting the terrain with an otherworldly beauty. Serene rivers wound their way through the landscape, their shimmering waters reflecting the twin suns' warm embrace.

The shuttle's descent took them closer to the crystal-laden surface of Maridor, revealing even more of its wonders. Magnificent crystal cliffs rose majestically from the ground, their sheer surfaces glistening in the sunlight. A soft, ethereal mist hung over veiled valleys, adding an air of mystery to the landscape. In the distance, bioluminescent flora illuminated the terrain with a soft, enchanting glow, casting intricate patterns of light and shadow. As they descended, they spotted the parachutes attached to the four small shipping containers containing the bulk of their gear, descending next to them.

As the shuttle approached the chosen landing site, Eidan leaned forward, his gaze fixed on the terrain unfolding below. He noted the serene "water" source nestled amidst the crystal cliffs, its tranquil surface reflecting the surrounding scenery. Clusters of vibrant vegetation dotted the landscape, their colors contrasting beautifully against the shimmering crystal backdrop. The air was filled with the faint hum of Maridor's natural energy, a palpable sense of life and vitality that pulsed through the land. "No one opens a hatch until we have a chat," the shipmaster reminded them.

Finally, with a gentle jolt, the shuttle's landing gear made contact with the crystal-laden surface of Maridor. As the engines powered down, Eidan could not help to look from face to face in those seated in the cabin behind him, it was the same crew but the mission seemed so much bigger now that they were from the Evenstar.

Veilfall on Maridor

Tomoko, with her azure-hued skin and striking alien anthro features, exuded an air of quiet anticipation as she settled into her seat within the sleek confines of the Taka-class shuttle. Her large, expressive ears twitched in rhythm with the hum of the spacecraft's engines as she peered out through the windows, watching as the vast expanse of space receded behind them. Beyond the safety of the ISS Evenstar, the Tanya-Class Expeditionary Heavy Cruiser that had been their home, lay the uncharted reaches of Maridor, a planet beckoning with the promise of discovery and the allure of the unknown.

As the shuttle glided further away from the familiarity of the Evenstar, Tomoko's emotions danced between excitement and nervousness. The prospect of exploring Maridor, of being part of the team tasked with assessing its viability as a potential colony site, filled her with a sense of purpose and adventure. Yet, beneath the surface, there lingered a tinge of apprehension—a recognition of the challenges and uncertainties that lay ahead.

The mission to Maridor represented a pivotal moment for Tomoko and the Konpeki Gundan (Azure Legion). It wasn't merely a journey of scientific inquiry but a venture into uncharted territory, where each step would be guided by the quest for knowledge and the desire to unlock the planet's secrets. Over the coming weeks, they would immerse themselves in the rugged beauty of Maridor, setting up camp on its surface to conduct research, collect samples, and delve into the intricacies of its unique biosphere.

For Tomoko, this mission held a deeply personal significance. It was a chance to push the boundaries of her own understanding, to test the limits of her resilience and adaptability in an environment unlike any she had encountered before. As the shuttle hurtled through the void, carrying her ever closer to the mysteries of Maridor, she couldn't help but feel a surge of anticipation mingled with a newfound sense of determination. Whatever challenges awaited them on the planet's surface, Tomoko was ready to face them head-on, fueled by a boundless curiosity and the shared camaraderie of her fellow Azure Legion.

As the Taka-class shuttle began its descent into the thick atmosphere of Maridor, Tomoko's anticipation reached a fever pitch. She joined her fellow explorers at the viewport, their collective breath catching as the planet's surface slowly emerged from beneath the veil of clouds. What greeted them was nothing short of breathtaking.

The landscape of Maridor unfurled before their eyes like a canvas of wonder and enchantment. Crystal formations, glittering like jewels in the sunlight, dotted the rugged terrain, their facets catching the light in a mesmerizing display of iridescence. Tomoko couldn't tear her gaze away from the prismatic reflections that danced across the landscape, each sparkle a testament to the planet's untamed beauty.

But it wasn't just the crystals that captured their attention. Luminal meadows, bathed in the warm glow of Maridor's twin suns, spread out in a riot of vibrant colors, casting an ethereal glow over the land. Shades of azure, magenta, and emerald melded together in a harmonious symphony, painting the landscape with an otherworldly palette that seemed almost too surreal to be real.

As the shuttle descended further, Tomoko's senses were overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of Maridor's beauty. Serene rivers snaked their way through the terrain, their shimmering waters a stark contrast to the rugged landscape around them. Each bend and curve of the rivers seemed to tell a story of ancient currents and timeless flow, inviting the explorers to immerse themselves in the mysteries of Maridor's natural wonders.

For Tomoko, the sight before her was nothing short of awe-inspiring. In that moment, as she beheld the breathtaking landscapes of Maridor stretching out before her, she knew that this journey would be unlike any other—a journey of discovery, adventure, and perhaps, even transformation.

As the shuttle continued its descent towards the crystal-laden surface of Maridor, Tomoko's gaze was drawn to even more of the planet's mesmerizing features. Magnificent crystal cliffs, towering like ancient sentinels, commanded attention as they rose majestically from the rugged terrain below. Their sheer surfaces caught the sunlight, scattering prismatic reflections across the landscape in a dazzling display of natural grandeur.

But it wasn't just the crystal cliffs that captivated the explorers. As they descended further, a soft, ethereal mist began to envelop veiled valleys, lending an air of mystery and intrigue to the already enchanting landscape. The mist seemed to dance and swirl, teasing glimpses of hidden wonders just beyond reach, stirring the imaginations of those aboard the shuttle.

In the distance, a faint glow caught their attention, drawing their gaze to the bioluminescent flora that dotted the terrain like scattered constellations. These otherworldly plants illuminated the landscape with their soft, enchanting glow, casting intricate patterns of light and shadow that seemed to pulse with a life of their own. Tomoko couldn't help but marvel at the beauty of it all, feeling a sense of wonder wash over her as she took in the breathtaking sights unfolding before her.

As they descended closer to the surface, Tomoko's attention was suddenly drawn to movement below. Four small shipping containers, attached to parachutes, could be seen descending in tandem with the shuttle. These containers held the bulk of their gear, essential supplies for their expedition on Maridor. Watching them drift gracefully towards the surface, Tomoko felt a surge of anticipation mingled with a sense of readiness. They were on the threshold of a new adventure, and she was eager to embrace it with open arms.

As the shuttle descended closer to the surface of Maridor, Tomoko's eyes were drawn to a serene "water" source nestled amidst the towering crystal cliffs. Its tranquil surface mirrored the surrounding scenery with pristine clarity, reflecting the jagged beauty of the cliffs and the vibrant hues of the vegetation that dotted the landscape. The sight was a breathtaking spectacle, a tranquil oasis amidst the rugged grandeur of Maridor's natural wonders.

Clusters of vibrant vegetation adorned the landscape, their colors contrasting vividly against the shimmering crystal backdrop. Splashes of emerald green, fiery orange, and electric blue painted the terrain with a vibrant tapestry of life, adding a touch of whimsy to the otherwise austere landscape.

But it wasn't just the visual splendor that captivated Tomoko's senses. As the shuttle descended further, she could feel the faint hum of Maridor's natural energy permeating the air—a palpable sense of life and vitality that seemed to pulse through the land like a heartbeat. It was as if the very essence of the planet itself was reaching out to welcome them, inviting them to become part of its ancient rhythms and timeless cycles.

Before they could fully immerse themselves in the wonders of Maridor, however, the shipmaster's reminder brought them back to the present moment. "No one opens a hatch until we have a chat," he declared, his words a solemn reminder of the importance of safety and protocol in their mission. Tomoko nodded in understanding, her excitement tempered by a sense of responsibility as they prepared to embark on their exploration of this remarkable world. With the shipmaster's guidance, they would navigate the challenges of Maridor together, ensuring that their journey was both successful and safe.

With a gentle jolt, the shuttle's landing gear made contact with the crystal-laden surface of Maridor, signaling the culmination of their journey. As the engines powered down, a sense of anticipation hung in the air, mingling with the palpable excitement that radiated from the explorers aboard.

Amidst the flurry of activity that followed, Tomoko's attention was drawn to Eidan, a member of the of the Motoyoshi Clan, and her captain. His gaze met hers, but Tomoko was determined to share her own excitement with him, to let him see the joy and enthusiasm that bubbled within her. With a warm smile, she met his gaze, her expression a silent reassurance that they were in this together, ready to face whatever challenges Maridor had in store

Motoyoshi Zabuza had been alternating one leg over the other for the last bit of the right, feeling thoughtful and oddly rebellious. Being in shuttles tended to inspire this strange restlessness in him, and the Taka-class they were in now was no exception to this rule. He looked up and around at the interior of the room they were al in for the fourth or fifth time, observing that the shuttle was like many Yugumo Fleetworks vessels which were sometimes described as both ‘Sleek’ and ‘Chunky’. Privately, Zabuza liked to call them ‘Slunky’. He didn’t dare say the word ‘Slunky’ aloud.

He’d prepped for the mission of course, loading up his Companion with the available planet scans that the Evenstar had grabbed (as well as some tunes). He’d packed, unpacked (for practice), and then re-packed his bags. He’d checked the ‘Megumi’ skinsuit for holes that might’ve magically appeared since the last time he’d checked. Zabuza had also done a few walking and running laps through the wider decks of the Evenstar’s vast interiors in the Heavy Combat Suit just to shake it out and remind his body how to wear it, not that it had been too terribly long. He was in that same suit now, the Oni Horn’d helmet in his lap. He’d accidentally poked himself with that horn during one of his leg readjustments. Thankfully, he’d been armored, so the poke hadn’t left any wounds.

As the shuttle touched down, Zabuza realized he had entirely missed the chance to actually look outside through the windows of the slunky Taka-class vessel. Maybe he’d noticed it in the periphery, but he hadn’t really looked! He wasn’t too worried; they were here to survey the world over the course of several weeks, after all. He’d have time to look around the planet, while also endeavoring to keep his colleagues and superiors safe.

He turned away from his Captain’s gaze, sheepish. In the few times they’d looked at each other, Zabuza always found himself breaking the contact first. He did not know why. Fidgeting, he checked a very secure, not-needing-any-checking strap on his suit as he waited for the Shipmaster to initiate the chat.

The wonder of landing on a new planet was lost upon Beldagor as he was...not in a good mood. The suit, despite having an extra armor he'd put on it, didn't feel right-it lacked the weight and impact his own suit had. Not to mention it wasn't made-simply manufactured. With a sigh he racked the his carbine and fed a few rounds into it; the large rounds feeding smoothly into the magazine before he racked the slide shut rather...forcefully. There was a part of him that wanted to challenge Eidan, but he'd refrained for the time being.

Mainly because he didn't have a shaman present for the rituals...but one day...one day.

Slinging his rifle over his shoulder-he found Steelbender floating in front of him-they exchanged looks before Beldagor cracked his neck. The barbarian was looking forward to the mission-if just simply for the opportunity to crack a few skulls as he felt the shuttle touched down.

Shuttle

Kazumis' already dusky azure skin was a shade paler than usual right then. Her suit, perfectly fitted for her felt tight and stifling in how it smothered her even as she fidgeted with her hands with nothing to occupy her. Her nerves were all over the place as she casually looked about at how cool and prepared everyone else was compared to herself and how suddenly and completely out of her depth the noblesse-looking woman found the reality that she was a very young and unprepared farm girl from who knew how many lightyears away incredibly overbearing while being tasked on to a much more influential rising star in the Motoyoshi than she thought she might work under just mapping RNA inputs in a lab on some ship while real explorers did all the actual intrepid exploring!

What if she forgot something important?
Why didn't she try to pay better attention to the briefings and packets?
What if Zabuza and her accidentally switched helmets and hers wouldn't fit and she would die from some airborne pathogen from the loose seal?
Why did he have a helmet like she would; Was trying to impress her or was he hitting on her?
Would Yuuki get mad at her for it?
Why did she have a gun?
Beldagor had a big enough gun and he looked like he knew how to use it!
Why was his gun so big? What was he expecting to fight with such a big gun?
What if her gun just went off on its holster and killed her or hit somebody?
What was she even supposed to do on the planet that couldn't be done on the ship?
What if she got lost and they left her behind?

a lot of things raced through her mind as she fidgeted, tying her long hair into a bun behind her to keep her hands busy before absently tugging at some strap she didn't know what it did but felt too loose on her suit. All this went by as she casually looked on the growing planet with none of the fascination or awe of the others but increasing dread at the uncountable stories, movies, and books she had consumed over her childhood of so many of the Empires heroes and the incredible and fantastical things they encountered on new and undiscovered worlds.

And how many of them sounded like nightmare encounters to her. Filled with horrific aliens and encounters for those desiring daring-do and thrilling adventure...

Sparing another reluctant glance when the shuttle finally touched down with enough grace she might not have noticed otherwise.

Beldagor looked like he was ready to kill something.
Zabuza was looking off wistfully probably fantasizing the same.
Tomoko was practically off the walls with excitement.
And Eidan looked exactly like the dashing and intrepid explorer he was.

Kazumi, unlike them was fighting the urge not to throw up and wanted to go home; She didn't belong here with people like this...

And Kuroko looked like the brooding monster she was, as she just stared in silence, jaw set and eyes a bit narrowed, at both nothing and everything. Nothing seemed much to register, not the scenery outside, not the others in the shuttle, and not even the soft little bump of landing. A few more brief beats of silence and Kuroko suddenly stood, slung her pack, and walked over to the cargo pallets bearing the SSCC-Small containers that held the supplies and equipment for the mission. There was no waiting to stand on ceremony, as she began unlocking the pallets from the floor and taking the brake off the rollers. Wordlessly, Kuroko shoved the containers into place and stood, waiting for the ramp to open.

"Security," she finally spoke, and with a mix of authority and seeming annoyance— though at what was unclear. "Fan out, E2 drawn, if you're not pushing cargo off the ship."

Kuroko looked over at Eidan, with one hand on the actuator to lower the ramp. "Whenever you're ready, Teichō," she said, with an edge to her voice that he'd been shown, time and again, meant she was getting impatient. Perhaps it was the fact there were no torpedoes to launch. "All the readings are good. Let's get out there."

Yuki Inihara

It had been some time since Yuki had not been the one at the helm piloting a vessel. Though luckily for all parties involved their driver for this occasion seemed to know what they were doing. She took advantage of this to peep out to and get a look at their surrounding as the shuttle came in for landing. In fact the scenery was so transcendent that most of their journey downward had gone by without a passing thought. At a minimum there was going to be five paintings resulting from whatever unfolded here, that's what she told herself as a gentle jolt ripped her attention back to reality.

Yuki whipped her head around to look at the rest of the crew. Did they observe the same magnificence as she had?! Already she imagined a palette of colors she would like to have on hand to accurately depict the ethereal scenery nestled beneath twin suns. Delightful imaginings of art to be were redirected as she had remembered Eidan's direction. "Yes, yes, no one go out adventuring till business is had." she thought to herself with heavy sarcasm, wondering what kind of chat he had in mind. Yuki and Zabuza had spent many hours together getting used to how the 'Megumi' skinsuit felt in various scenarios. It certainly had helped to prepare her for the path ahead by removing one less thing to worry about.

While Yuki awaited this little shindig to kick off her eyes moved on from Eidan to look over the rest of the crew. Without a doubt she would go wherever they went, facing the unknown alongside those she had become familiar with. She smiled warmly towards Tomoko in silent assurance of this when someone's nervous fidgeting drew her attention. To her delight it was Zabuza, though why was he fidgeting? Perhaps something of concern worried him, could be unknown factors that awaited them outside confines of their current shelter. There was a flurry of comforting things she could say that might help calm him, though this probably would not be the best place. Silently she rested her hand on his for but a moment, in a reassuring gesture to whatever might be plaguing his thoughts. Wordlessly she gave it a gentle squeeze and released before the next sounds sent her fist right into a tight ball.

A rather loud racket ripped her crystal blue hued orbs to Beldagor being well, Beldagor. Barely resisting a heavy eye roll she cast a side glance out over the environment she ached to illustrate on canvas. The grip of her fist relaxed leaving imprints on her palm as he gaze flicked up to Kazumi. Something that the norian could not quite pin down was something seemed off with the blue-skinned cutie. Yuki quietly shuffled over to sit next Kazumi, softly plopping her rump a respectable distance away. She wanted to offer comfort or some kind of support to whatever was ailing the horned woman without it coming off as flirtatious advances or the like.

Right after she had gotten situated a delicious little devil of a voice ordered what hopefully would be advancement on their escapade. Kuroko's voice was like music to her ears, no matter how grumpy it came across. Yuki's eyes lingered a bit on Kuroko before flitting to Eidan, awaiting final orders to get the hell off.

Lumi, however, was not annoyed, scared, or bloodthirsty. They were so excited to be there. It had been a little while since they had been off of a ship. They felt more at home inside the walls of one after their first adventure into the underwater nuclear hellscape. It was safe (sort of) in a ship that they were maintaining. Apart from the actual role they had in their mission, their mind was on other things.

"I get to do some planetary sciences, woo! I wonder if this'll be a credit for something?" The Helashio asked while parsing the shuttle's external feed, peeking at it with their display. Their shimmering companion drone was seated in their lap, nuzzled conspicuously where the pink-haired former (OR IS HE?) slave's thick thighs came together. Their drone had gained a bit more of a personality after they had time to spend fiddling with it, lots of trial and error.

Unable to keep their voice down, they chimed, "TIME FOR CAMPINGGGG LESSSHHGOOOO! WOO!" With both arms up, only cowed into silence when Eidan got that serious look on his face. It was a big deal for all of them. The outline of their body shifted in their suit and they gave him a little salute with a few fingers from their brow, "Sorry doll." Came as the only apology. "Go ahead."

If we have no camp counselors what does that make each of us?

"Be safe and stay within line of sight," Eidan instructed, his voice steady and authoritative. "Let's focus on getting the camp set up. Kazumi, I need you to get a sample of the water so we can scan and test it. Once the base camp is established, we'll regroup and assess our next steps." The small cargo containers had landed within steps of where they had landed thankfully.

As Eidan stepped out of the shuttle onto the crystal-laden surface of Maridor, he was immediately enveloped by the surreal beauty of the alien landscape. The ground beneath his boots was covered in soft, luminal grasses that shimmered with iridescent hues, creating a gentle glow that seemed to pulse with life. These luminal meadows stretched as far as the eye could see, their ethereal beauty setting a serene yet otherworldly tone. Nearby, towering crystal formations rose majestically, their facets catching the light and casting prismatic reflections across the landscape. These crystals, some as tall as ancient trees, stood like silent sentinels, adding a sense of grandeur and timelessness to the environment.

Amongst the crystals and meadows, clusters of bioluminescent flora dotted the terrain. These plants emitted a soft, enchanting glow, illuminating the surroundings with a delicate, otherworldly light. The bioluminescent blooms were intricate and varied, with some resembling delicate, glowing orchids while others looked like luminescent ferns swaying gently in the breeze. The air was filled with the faint, pleasant scent of these plants, a mix of sweet and fresh fragrances that hinted at the planet's unique ecosystem.

Eidan could also see the faint movement of the native fauna. Glowstalkers, resembling ethereal deer with sleek, luminescent bodies and antlers that glowed softly, moved gracefully curiously toward them. Their eyes were a striking blue, and they appeared curious yet cautious, watching the newcomers with interest. The gentle hum of lumibees, tiny insects with bioluminescent bodies, filled the air as they flitted from flower to flower, pollinating the glowing blooms. Overhead, a pair of Skydrifters soared through the sky, their iridescent wings catching the light as they glided effortlessly. These avian creatures had a majestic presence, with long, trailing feathers that shimmered in the sunlight. Their calls echoed across the landscape, a melodious sound that added to the planet's enchanting ambiance.

"Wow...Look at this place..." Eidan was almost speechless as he took in everything around them. They would find themselves immediately enveloped by the surreal beauty of the alien landscape. The ground beneath their boots was covered in soft, luminal grasses that shimmered with iridescent hues, creating a gentle glow that seemed to pulse with life. From his vantage point, Eidan gazed westward at the forest of Starfire Trees. These towering trees, with their dark, metallic bark, seemed almost otherworldly. Their branches stretched high into the sky, adorned with glowing, star-like blossoms that flickered with a soft, radiant light. hidden within. From the cover of the Starfire Trees, a Valon'rai observed the newcomers with keen interest. Its slender, willowy frame blended seamlessly with the dark, metallic bark and the faint luminescence of the trees. Its skin, a shimmering silver-blue, mirrored the star-like blossoms, making it nearly invisible against the ethereal backdrop. The Valon'rai's large, luminous eyes, a deep, penetrating violet, flickered with curiosity as it studied the strangers from the shadows. Wrapped in a cloak of bioluminescent fibers that mimicked the shifting light patterns of the forest, the figure remained perfectly camouflaged, a silent guardian at the edge of the mysterious woodland.

As Tomoko stepped out of the shuttle on the newly discovered planet called Maridor, her senses were immediately overwhelmed by the vibrant, alien landscape that stretched out before her. The terrain was an otherworldly tapestry of shimmering foliage and luminous flora, casting an ethereal glow across the horizon. The air was crisp and filled with an unfamiliar, but pleasant fragrance that hinted at the uncharted wonders awaiting exploration.

Tomoko, a unique alien-anthro hybrid, stood speechless and in awe. Her eyes widened, reflecting the myriad colors dancing around her, as she took in the breathtaking scenery. Her heart pounded with a mix of excitement and trepidation, knowing that this planet held countless secrets yet to be uncovered. The anticipation was palpable, and she could hardly contain her exhilaration, which was well known to her captain, Eidan, the heir to the illustrious Motoyoshi Clan, and the rest of the Evenstar crew.

This camping trip was a significant event for all involved, a rare opportunity to step away from their usual duties and immerse themselves in the unspoiled beauty of Maridor. What made this moment even more extraordinary were the bioluminescent markings that adorned Tomoko's body. These intricate patterns, normally a soft green, had shifted to a brilliant blue, a reflection of her heightened emotional state. Each mark pulsed gently, casting a soft glow that contrasted beautifully with the planet's natural light. The blue hue indicated her excitement and anticipation, a visual manifestation of her inner thrill and wonder.

As she moved forward, her steps were light and deliberate, each one a conscious effort to absorb the alien ground beneath her feet. Tomoko, turning to take in the surrounding splendor, felt a profound connection to the landscape. "This place is incredible," she said, her voice filled with awe and wonder.

The cyan-skinned woman looked around, her eyes tracing the delicate contours of the luminal grasses that shimmered with iridescent hues. These grasses created a gentle glow that seemed to pulse with life, a subtle rhythm that synchronized with the heartbeat of the planet itself. The luminal meadows stretched as far as the eye could see, their ethereal beauty setting a serene yet otherworldly tone. The grasses swayed gently in a breeze that carried an almost musical quality, as if the planet itself were singing a welcoming song to its new visitors.

Nearby, towering crystal formations rose majestically from the ground. Their facets, catching the light from Maridor's star, cast prismatic reflections across the landscape. These crystals, some as tall as ancient trees, stood like silent sentinels, their presence adding a sense of grandeur and timelessness to the environment. Tomoko walked towards one of the larger crystals, her bioluminescent markings casting a soft blue glow that mingled with the crystal's own light. She reached out, her fingers lightly grazing the cool surface.

Sharing none of the wonder and awe of the others, Kazumi was instead still rather excited and anxious as she followed off the craft and took her first steps on a new, alien world in more ways than in name.

Looking around hesitantly she took in all the same sights as the others but with a slightly more cautious and critical eye. Seeing carbon-based life was surprising and exciting to the young Kurobawa who half expected her first alien lifeforms to either be microscopic or something like Myclopien or more alien in nature compared to what she had assumed. It meant that the ecology packet for the planet would be that much more work to completely index but, luckily, that wasn't her job~

What was her job was not any easier of a task. looking at the crystalline growths she was immediately unprepared and out of her depth at dense-atom structural concepts appearing so abundant in nature she gave a careful side-eye to Eidan to see if he had come to the same conclusion of her sudden drop in worth compared to a geologist and propper ecologist but seemed yet to have made the connection if her middling self-determined skill of reading body-languade was any guess.

And yet, as she turned back to look around she flinched as clearly he had either sensed or noticed her and given her an order to which she jumped slightly and shuffled off with her things.

And got sidetracked several times along the way...

Reaching down, Kazumi carefully examined the texture of some moss as she moved to the edge of the growing commotion of a camps perimeter to better stay out of everyone's way and not be trampled considering she found herself on her hands and knees more than her actual feet in the short time since she had stepped off the landing craft. Bending down or crawling about every time she saw something as she carefully plucked a blade of grass here to put in a small sealed bag, squeezed a drop of moisture out of a clump of moss to put under a microscope later, and examined the texture of some crystal with her faceplate pressed right up against it trying to see inside of it while flashing a small light into it. Overwhelmed as she was, Kazumi was still excited as could be and was the proverbial Kitten in a candy store as she tried to do everything she tried to take mental snapshots of everything she could before others trampled it over incase she couldn't come back and take propper pictures or sketches later.

Finally finding a place out of everyone's way by the edge of the perimeter of controlled chaos, Kazumi paused, a look of consternation on her face as she looked about, concerned and confused as she tried to figure out where an actual water source was? Did they bring the equipment for drilling to an aquifer? Was there a stream or river nearby?

Having missed the entire view coming down unlike the others and having only her skills to call upon, Kazumi took in some landmarks of the camp and its surroundings that she could see and began walking the treeline, her gaze shifting from the creatures soaring ahead and occasionally about as she tried to locate the natural signs of a stream or aquafer while the others did camp things.

Beldagor looked around as he prepared to assist with setting up one of the tents; no matter how you went through this-the wonders of a new world never ceased to amaze him. Still, there were dangers in such unknown places; and he knew it. Ensuring his carbine was close at hand should he need it. "Kikyo," He called, unsure of who he was addressing, "Best stay alert; it might look pretty but there's bound to be something lurking about." He checked the wards he'd painted on his hardsuit and ensured the talisman was secured to his belt-no point in inviting the spirit's mischief he mused to himself as he set about his work.

Leon had been uncharacteristically quiet throughout the entire trip to Maridor, but that did not last long once he was on the surface of the world. Even though he was a science cadet now, his tactical upbringing came to him immediately as he stepped onto the surface and completely ignoring the scenery for a moment. "Be-three-oh, obtain a vantage point there and commence a survey of our surroundings. Start mapping out elevation using the base of the shuttle's feet as a temporary elevation. Also if you see anything that could be a threat, mark it on the map and notify me immediately." Leon said to his KAIMON/Ascendent Companion.

"Remember ya'll, don't mess with the wildlife unless its going to be a specimen." Leon said more as an afterthought to the others once his companion sped off and he walked to move further away from the shuttle and pulled out his KAIMON-Aperture binoculars to make his own observations around them. Not messing with the wildlife was a basic military fact always beaten into the lower enlisted as far as he was aware.

Putting the binos up to his face, while he was curious to figure what life existed, he was more concerned with a geological survey to better understand the world and where best to look.

Lumi was awed, awed enough to be quiet for a while. Their drone was flitting about recording readings as much as just getting scans attempted on nearby natural objects.

"It's like they made a planet where I can blend in!" Wait, who was they? "Whomever they are." They tried. "Mnhh..I want to explore but you're right." Setting up a camp was not only the smart thing to do, but they had been taking their Kikyo Scouts thing seriously since being inducted. "Okay, let me see..."

It took some time to scan the ground for possible problems that might actually make the camp dangerous, or the chance the ground could sublimate or something underneath one of the shelters. The Helashio found themself being curious about the taste of local flora or fauna. Could it make them glow MORE? Well, probably not, there was also a good chance it could kill them just from a single touch, for all they knew.

"Oh hey my thingy ah, fun stuff made it down just fine." They observed, putting their hands on their hips as the sparkling trail from the drone's projector wreathed them, while it continued a fairly quick orbit about Lumi.

"Stay Close," Kuroko grumpily hiss-whine-commanded over the comms. While she didn't address it to anyone in particular, there was an unsaid "Kazumi" hanging off the end as it went out over the open channel. "Let's get these drones doing their job and scanning and keeping watch, right?"

If there was a sense of wonder or awe buried in Kuroko's annoyance, it was deep and well-covered, the soil tamped down firm. "Just assume everything here is going to eat us, until proven otherwise." She had unholstered her E-2 sidearm, but the Taihō Light Scout Rifle was still broken down into its packable halves and strapped securely to the side of her OrchidGear® backpack. Obeying her own orders, she went about giving Krakenmuffin, her KAIMON/Ascendant Companion its instructions to survey the site and pull security. The pulsing and glowing and wonder of alien life around her was secondary. To Kuroko, it was just some job from Hitomi-ultimately-Mother.

"Eidan, stop gawking."
