Skade looked at the android for a moment, before crouching down by his side. "Takeshi-kun," she said, putting a hand on his shoulder, "Even the smartest of us can't take into account every eventuality. Who knows, maybe this limitation was installed on purpose, to maximize on your other abilities and let other people keep you in tip top shape. Either way, we move as a group, right now two, so no one becomes isolated. You'll be the most heavily armed person here, once your systems are fully up and running, which is why I'm staying here to make sure you get there and nothing bad happens until then. Okay?" she asked, giving Saba a small smile.

Before he could respond, Edtoto's voice came over an open frequency with an interesting question. "Oh, so you'd share with me?" she asked, shaking her head with a smirk. "That's new."

"Well, I figured if we are stuck here for a while, it wouldn't be a problem after more specific issues are dealt with. I'm sure it would make his day," Came the response.

The Neko chuckled and said, "It would be fun, yeah. Learning experience all around as well. Mind if I ask if having a threesome was his idea?"

"No, I just thought it would be the easiest. He is interested in both of us, and well, it's far easier for us both to sate the interest. I could just deal with his interest in me now, or in a couple minutes," The alien responded.

Rolling her eyes, she said, "How about we sate our interests after we know what's going on?"

"Well, I wasn't about to do anything in an obvious combat zone. We really aren't finding anything, ship seems dead. I would get the I'ee to split up, but I fear they may not handle things on this ship, and given our already weakened state I wouldn't trust it," Edtoto said simply.

Good to know you have some sense, Skade thought. "Splitting up is usually a bad idea anyway. Remember the problems we had when we first met Saba?" she asked aloud.

"You mean how he cut off my arm?"

"And Rin being knocked out," she added, "All of which probably could have been avoided if we hadn't split up."

"Well, let us hope we don't run into another combat droid. Otherwise, I will certainly have more pressing concerns than discovery"

"I'm working on getting Takeshi up and running," the technician replied. "Once he is, we'll be right behind you. Just make sure we can follow you, one way or another."

"Ah, right. We turned left by the way. Then we went right. Let me know when you are coming and we will let you know how to find us. Talk to you in a few," Was the last responce, before the radio went dead.

"Will do," she said, not quite sure if her words got through.

"Got to love Vekimen, don't you?" the Neko asked, snorting before patting the android's shoulder. "Well, let's see how well this plug works and how long we'll be in here for."

Alien Shuttle Bay

As T-39 waited for a response and listened to the receding footsteps, her mind worked so quietly that even she couldn't hear a thought of it over the general buzz of activity. It was strange not having contact with the Hivemind inside this alien vessel, but she hadn't come unprepared. For now, and for such a short time, a simulated connection was plenty enough to fill the hole. Above the chatter, though, and beyond the simple task put in front of her of boosting the output of her shuttle's starlight cells, she found herself confronted by one thought more intrusive than the rest.

You're alone with the Star Army. Everyone else has left! What are you doing, Trendsetter?!

She took a moment to realize that she was only helping them, and that this wasn't in her mandate. Without USO representatives present, she was supposed to avoid the Star Army. And besides, they were ignoring her! Maybe the meeting was over and no one had told her? With her shuttle not working, T-39 had no way to leave, and it was only going to get worse, now. Starting to panic, she ran away after Corgan, as fast as her legs could carry here. "Hey, wait up! Where are you going?"

The fabrication unit on the Engineer's Mindy reluctantly came to life...material solidifying into a rough grey shape that was approximately what she had requested. It looked even less impressive than the normal quick fixes the device was capable of, but it would last long enough to do what was necessary. Skade knew just where the android's power connection was, from her initial inspection, as well as the charging station she'd helped Sunny install in the Heartbreaker's Cargo Bay. The cord from the small shuttle was plugged in, just as the Freespacer suddenly took off running away from her own ship. While the Engineer was distracted, a thin film of nanites oozed from the android's power socket, strengthening the connection...and trickling back up the cord, as the slow feed of energy began.

The two I'ee led the way as Corgn and Edtoto conversed behind them, not seeming particularly interested in the flirting and teasing. When the talking died down for a moment, Edtoto...heard something. Something strangely familiar. A distinct vibration in the air and floor, that the others didn't seem to pick up on. She could almost make out a word or two, before T-39 arrived, her loud outburst drowning out the sensitive vibrations.

Slightly further ahead, at yet another intersection, the I'ee seemed to become agitated about something.

While dealing with all of this, and planning his possible romantic interlude, Corgan realized two things. First, there were no doorways or other openings in any of these corridors so far.

Second, it felt like he was being watched.

Any means of vocal communication between the I'ee was precluded by their air-tight suits, but their body language and frantic signing said a lot even if it couldn't be perfectly interpreted. The Thi-Thi pilot that had taken the lead had stopped, tensing up. Her sister quickly hurried over, and for a time the two of them stood watching the hallway quietly. The two signed to one another for a time, apparently making some sort of conversation, before one of them turned to the three aliens. She hopped up and down, pointing to the hallway ahead, where her sister was cautiously advancing, gun aimed forward.

The survivor observed. He saw of the two bugs from his hidey hole, apparently they were the reason that the Mishu had began to get agitated again. He walked over towards his stash, tugging on his uniform to test the fit. It was tattered and torn in some places, but was overall together. He needed to find one clean, but if the bugs had been taken in by the ship, maybe their ship was still in flyable condition. He picked up the rifle he had repaired using the last one and began thinking of a plan. For now though, the survivor walked back to his position and observed.

He whispered to himself, "So many years, so many days, I've lost count for or so many ways..." He tried to calm his nerves, but the fact was he lost them a long time ago.

Alien Ship Corridors
Corgan

Corgan followed Edtoto down the tunnel, checking for any signs of life. He wasn't exactly surprised that she and Skade were together, but he stopped walking for a second when she suggested sharing. Wait, what? He thought. The idea hadn't even occurred to him because he thought it was unlikely to be a valid option. He hurried to catch up to the Vekimen.

Before he could even confirm what she'd said, she was on a radio asking Skade if she was okay with it. Holy shit, she's serious, he thought. He listened to the conversation in stunned silence. Where is Akemi? I can't wait to rub this in his face. Hold on, did she say a few minutes? His eyes widened. Right now? He relaxed at her next response, glad to hear that she hadn't been serious about that part. Literally getting caught with his pants down didn't sound appealing.

He waited patiently until she had finished speaking to Skade before saying anything. "That sounds... interesting," Corgan replied, trying not to sound too excited. "We can discuss the details later. Right now I'm kind of curious about you getting your arm cut off by the tin man back there. Do we need to worry about him?" He asked in a more serious tone. A strange feeling like someone was watching him caused the hairs on his neck to stand up. He tried to act casual, speeding up just a little to walk beside Edtoto.

The Nepleslian put an arm around her and pulled her a little closer. He leaned in to whisper in her ear, but he couldn't find it. Instead, he just whispered where a human would have an ear. "I think someone might be watching us." The nervous I'ee couldn't be a good sign either.

Takeshi

The android was confused about what exactly Edtoto and Skade were discussing. He only understood when Skade said the word "threesome". The term had come up when he was researching human sexuality. So, the Nepleslian does have an interest in Skade-chan, he thought. As long as she was agreeing to it, he wouldn't say anything. He had seen some disturbing footage called Nepleslian Jailbait 3 where an ID-SOL prison guard took advantage of NMX Nekovalkyrja prisoners. It was not going to happen to Skade if he could help it. The poor Neko had even started to like the terrible things being done to her body by the end.

"I suppose as long as you are a willing participant, I would have no reason to dismember that Nepleslian." He said frankly. "It is true, Vekimen are an interesting species. Their quick breeding could be a problem, though." Takeshi admitted.

The power started flowing, although not quite as fast as he hoped. "Maybe this would go faster if I suspend all non-vital functions." He suggested. "I am hesitant to leave you feeling like you're alone, though."

Corridors

T-39 was hovering at the rear of the group as Corgan pulled in Edtoto to whisper, continuing to drown out the vibrations the Vekimen could just barely detect. Soon there was no need to strain, as the source became clear, the alien noises growing louder as a pair of odd shapes rounded the corner. Of the ceiling.

The I'ee were closest to the new arrivals, one of whom hissed aggressively at the insectoids before dropping off the ceiling, almost on top of them. The thing was all bony limbs and lashing tail, nasty teeth flashing as a horrible stench drifted down the corridor. The other scittered across the ceiling towards the trio further down, head twisting around uncomfortably far to continue staring at them...long tendrils hanging down from its back lashing at them, trying to grasp for weapons and limbs, attempting to keep its body out of range above them.


Back at the shuttle, the flow of power to the android became steady, as it offered to stay behind and let Skade join the others. Neither of them could hear these alien noises from the shuttle bay...although they could hear what sounded like many smaller somethings crashing and rattling around loudly inside of a large space somewhere else relatively nearby within the alien ship. A few moments later, the group further inside heard the same commotion, although it wasn't quite as easy to make out, what with the snarling beasts attacking them.

Corridors

The I'ee taking point reacted aggressively when the bony creatures crawled around the corner, directly above her. She raised her weapon and began firing upward at the creature that had stopped to assault her, firing three shots up at it before it was whipped from her grasp by a tentacle. With only her blade left and her wings constricted by her suit, she dropped onto all six of her legs and began retreating back to the others. Her sister was hurrying to her aid, firing at the attacking creature, though the short-barrelled gun lacked the accuracy to hit its mark.

Skade’s brow furrowed as she heard T-39 leave the shuttle. Turning around, she asked, “Trendsetter?” but found that she was alone with Takeshi. “Huh,” she said, shrugging as she turned back to the android.

If he wasn’t so earnest about it, the Neko thought as she listened to him, his protectiveness would be annoying. Good thing he’s cute. “Come on, Saba,” she said, putting a hand on his shoulder and giving him a knowing smile, “You know I don’t let anyone do something unless I’m willing. It’ll be interesting, but it’s not like he’ll be around long.” And if this is him being jealous, well, we can fix that.

“And I’ll be fine, Takeshi-kun,” the technician said, leaning forward and giving him a peck on the cheek. “The point is to get you recharged as soon as possible. I’ll be safe until-“ It was then that the pair heard the nearby crashing and rattling. “What in world was that?” she asked, getting up off the shuttle’s deck and pulling her NSP out of its holster, raising it as she looked out into the shuttle bay.

He took this moment, out of either pity or a chance to escape, and launched himself back into the room to his somewhat hidden power armor, setting the rifle up in the corner. The Mindy II was soon 'decapitated' by the survivor, who was welcomed by the suit's torso opening for him to get in. While he didn't have the undersuit on, there was no time to dig for one. The power armor embraced it's owner, the IFF signal slowly beginning to emit across old frequencies. He sighed as he looked to the rifle he had just sat down, and decided to grab the power armor tailored submachine gun in favor of the aging battle rifle.

As he primed the weapon he toggled the alien door, launching out with a loud sound of submachine gun fire and a call out in Yamataian, "Hey, you missed one!" He was aiming at the lower, closer attacker first in an attempt to grab it's attention. If any of the Heartbreaker's boarders could see his IFF signal, whether they could read old frequencies or otherwise, a Star Army Medical insignia was displayed, denoting the survivor as a medic

Corridors

"Aaaa! Shooting! Whoa!" said T-39, with the bad acting of someone who'd never learned how to panic in a combat situation and was missing most of the appropriate reflexes. She waved her arms around, flailing, more or less, to keep the tendrils off of her, with the side effect of threatening them in turn with the razor-sharp edges of the four chakrams magnetically levitated about her wrists.

Corgan

Corgan didn't stop walking, but he did move away from Edtoto. Instead of retreating he leveled his .45 at what he thought was the thing's face. He unloaded on it without hesitation, switching aim from the head to the body after the first shot. When he heard a click, he started backing up. "What the hell is that thing?" He yelled, barely registering the newcomer. They spoke the right language so he wasn't worried just yet.

He kept backing away as he popped out the magazine and reloaded his handgun. I need some better guns in that trunk, the half ID-SOL thought, annoyed at the little handgun he was forced to use. The creature in front of him looked slightly familiar, although he couldn't place it. The way its head moved was wrong on a primal level. He started backing up faster when he finally noticed the clattering sound.

Shuttle Bay
Takeshi

The android felt his power levels slowly returning to an acceptable level. "Tell me if I'm being overprotective." He said. Feelings were still pretty new to him, so he didn't quite understand boundaries yet. The sounds startled him and he turned towards the exit to the shuttle. He checked to see if he had enough power to fight effectively. "I don't know. I think we can safely assume it's hostile, though." He said, extending a vibroblade from his left arm. To save power he didn't activate the blade yet.

He was starting to have a bad feeling about this mission. At the same time, he was eager to explore the ship. He might be able to finally learn more about his origins. The first thing he remembered clearly was disabling Hoshitomo Rin and clashing with Edtoto. Everything before was fuzzy.

Edtoto, reacted appropriately, firing at the creature twice with the shotgun Corgan had so graciously given her. That should start the ball, giving her time to grab her radio. "Contact!" She called over the radio, dropping it immediately, firing two more times. "Shoot it! Black be damned shoot it!" She yelled, taking a knee so she could start reloading the weapon. She didn't care everyone had already shot it. They needed to shoot it more!

Corridors

One creature was barely missed by the I'ee weapon, as it dropped in front of the insectoid, causing it to rapidly retreat to the safety of the group. One of its slick tendrils had whipped the gun aside, shots from the second I'ee wildly missing it as well. However, the new arrival hit his mark. The SMG pumped shots of scalar energy into the strange alien, tearing holes through it and burning scorches into the floor underneath. The beast fell, twitching but silent...although the Medic's weapon was anything but, beeping at him about its low battery already. It hadn't been used in years, but now had seemed like the time.

The second beast bared those needle-like teeth, a rancid smell wafting into Corgan's face, although Edtoto didn't seem to notice at all. That face was soon turned to mush as the soldier unloaded his sidearm into it, writhing body blasted full of holes as the Vekimen followed his example and tested out her new shotgun. T-39 found a twitching tendril at her feet, tip sharp and bladed, her 'jewelry' splattered with alien fluids.

The armor sent its ping to the communicators Edtoto and Skade were using, registering to the recharging android as well. They weren't getting anything other than name and rank, although that seemed legit. The armor was old and worn enough to seem unfamiliar to the Vekimen and completely unknown to the Freespacer, but likely familiar to the veteran Nepleslian. Noticeably, all of the lights, shields and other impressive features seemed to be turned off.


The crashing noises had ended even before the short fight, which was over too fast to even call Skade for possible backup. While the Engineer and android seemed worried about the unexplained noises, the Medic knew it was likely due to several dozen new arrivals in other nearby shuttle bays...

Corridors

T-39 viewed the mess with dismay, her eyes flicking through warning shades of green and yellow. "Yikes, this seems unsanitary." Catching note of the beeping, she turned to greet the newcomer. "Hello! Nice shootin', pleased to meet you! I'm Trendsetter Three-Nine. I'm with the big guy, those two are I'ee, and these two are with the Star Army. Are you, too, sir?" Her voice went through a few clicks and pauses as she tried to draw up some relevant information.

With the creature assaulting her pounded into oblivion, the disarmed I'ee turned and scurried back to her sister, who was busy reloading her weapon. The two eyed the newcomer with suspicion, more concerned with him than with the other monster being subdued by Edtoto and Corgan. Considering his first action was to assist, however, they seemed willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. With the battle over for now, they turned their attention to the creatures' corpses; each of the I'ee examining and then mutilating the bodies with their blades, as if to be sure that they were dead.

The medic lowered his weapon but looked at each of the three individually then the I'ee before looking back to T-39, the helmet hiding his remembering expression, "That's right, and who's in charge here?" He looked at the beeping SMG, smacking the magazine almost to make it shut up muttering in a long dead internal comm line.

He looked at the two that the Freespacer ones identified as with the Star Army. His eyes settled on the... as far as he knew Lizard person before he tacked back on the regular comm line, "My medical supplies low, but I have enough. What I need is batteries for this," He held up his Aether SMG, "Because this thing just saved lives." The combat medic's face was tired, as if the firefight had drained him, but he still stood tall within the Mindy II.

Edtoto continued to ignore the Medic, walking to the aliens. She hissed at the I'ee when they started cutting at their bodies. She did, however, take a moment to answer the first question the Medic had, in shockingly perfect Yamataigo. "I am Zukan Edtoto Nar'Sivaro, of the Vekimen Defensive Task Force. I am currently the acting CO of the Star Army soldiers on this ship, and these two. The two aliens there are a little estranged to the chain of command, but they listen if you seem threatening enough. Can you tell me how long Mishhu like this have been on this ship please?" She said, barely taking the time to look at him, instead, kneeling over one of the "Familiar Aliens" with all to much interest. It wouldn't take a genius xenobiologist to suddenly notice to similarities between her and the Mishhu creature. She picked up her radio, given she didn't have time previously.

"Skade, there are hostiles and apparently friendlies on this ship. Only one issue..." She muttered, tapping the gold band around what remained of the horn to the mishhu creature. "I looks like the nightmare that was the Station is back. And here I thought they didn't leave. I am however beginning to think that whatever mission you and your ship are on has something to do with the attack on my people," She said simply. "If you can find a vacuum container that could fit... Say an object the size of my head... That would be great."

Corgan

Corgan doubled over, clutching his stomach with one hand. His lunch threatened to evacuate his stomach through his mouth, but he managed to hold it in. After he was confident that he wasn't going to puke, Corgan straightened up and examined the body from afar. His eyes zoomed in on the creature. "It looks kind of like a Mishuuvurthyar had sex with a Vekimen." He said, looking up at Edtoto.

He remembered the new guy and turned around. The guy is wearing armor that is probably almost old as I am. He couldn't be from the Heartbreaker. And where the hell did he come from? Corgan wondered. He saw that the Freespacer had already introduced herself. "I'm Corgan Garret, a Colonel from the PMC Ragnarok."The Nepleslian said. He walked over to the medic and held out his hand. "No batteries, sorry. Had to leave our armor back in the shuttle bay cause the ship drained our power somehow."

Shuttle Bay

Joy, Skade thought, shaking her head as she heard the rest of the team’s discussion. And here I thought we were done with this bullcrap. “Unless you guys have a better idea, then come on back and lets go over everything. And if Sutauto-hei knows what that crashing sound was, that’d be great to know.” Yay, allies. If someone survived here, then hopefully this place is survivable.

“As for power, I’ve got one power source right now and it’s kind of busy at the moment,” the Neko said. Power, power, I’d sell my body for power. “At this point, I’m about to uninstall a generator and hook a bike up to it. If Sutauto-hei has a suit, then we might be able to cobble something more respectable together.” No idea how. But it might work and I’m desperate right now. Being an engineer without a power source is like a doctor without a knife.
