Beauty Pageant Correspondant, Notably Possible News
In our recent annual Miss Imperialism Beauty Pageant, our sole Yamataian contestant (Miss Kyoto) and eventual contest winner stated that she was born on Yamatai.
Miss Morikawa Hotaru was born in YE 20 in the city of Kyoto, the child of a retired Nekovalkryja that had served her military term and a local civil engineer working for the city reconstruction bureau. Currently a student at the prestigious 1st Regional Arts Academy of Kyoto, she hopes to become a professional dance choreographer for popular music videos and get a degree in classical dance with a minor in anthropology. Her height is 164cm, her three sizes 86-55-83 and her weight is top secret. Her hobbies are friends, nail art and watching birds.
Hotaru's dresses were themed after a succession of birds and events. Her coronation dress was a delightful seafoam and white ensemble meant to evoke the fall of the Heavens and the sorrow of continued wars with the Elysians. Her speech publicly admonished against wars of aggression against Yamatai's neighbors and civil securitization. Instead she hoped, Yamatai could simply be the best civilization possible and draw others into its sphere of influence through great works of art and infrastructural monuments that express the grandeur and wisdom of Yamataian culture.
As Miss Imperialism, Hotaru wins a scholarship from NPN worth up to 150, 000 DA and a lifetime supply of whale bacon. Additionally, her name and likeness will be circulated throughout available Nepleslian prison tattoos through NPN's GET INKD prison work program which allows former gang members to find work as tattoo artists.
Mysteriously, Miss Morikawa did not want to be interviewed after finding out about her winnings and later issued a statement saying "...thanks to NPN for the scholarship, although education is basically free on Yamatai..." and a bunch of ungrateful shit about not wanting to eat the flesh of sapient creatures.
Whether Miss Morikawa rises to the mantle of Miss Imperialism and makes good use of the title remains to be seen, although maybe have high hopes for the young woman, who comes from a long lineage of genocidal warmongers and tyrants. For now, the appointment is widely regarded as a step in the right direction towards solidifying relations between DATASS signatories by culture critics.
