RP: NSS Alliance [NSS Alliance - Elysia] Dinner with the enemy

Fay

Well-Known Member
The mess hall was filling quickly. The crew, as well as each of the marine contingents were serving themselves food and drink, as well as finding seats.

Captain Miller had taken a position on the stage and was scribbling onto his datapad. Next to him, on a small four-legged round table, was a glass of water and a sandwich that had been undisturbed. Cadet Willis stood at the side of the captain, surveying the area as well as keeping an eye on the captain, waiting for his signal.

The Cadet had been bogged with paperwork himself, which explained his absence from the VR training. The hulking ID-SOL was unsuccessful in hiding the large scowl of disappointment on his face, as he had wanted to partake in the action.

Miller passed his datapad to the ID-SOL, who hastily scribbled something onto it as well before passing it back to the captain.

"Seems like the executive officer saw something that caught his eye," Willis muttered. "But is it right to promote those two so swiftly?"

The captain nodded without looking at Willis, making sure that the documentation in his hand had been properly signed.

"You saw the rosters, cadet. Alpha squad, as well as the rest of the marines, need the rank balance. I have faith in my XO."

With that, the Miller looked to the sandwich on his table, then back at the cadet.

"Five minutes."

The ID-SOL just nodded.

After the little 'witch hunt' meeting from before, Cadet Matthew Lionheart had gone to a secondary computer station to grumble and work. His work was actually more of a personal interest for him, creating a variety of intrusion programs and viral programs for several computers systems ranging from the Reds Armor/Ship computers to Yamataian low-grade Quantum Computers. The only computer system he had trouble understanding were those Elysian Organic Computer Systems, making the young man wish he had taken a hint of biology with his curriculum.

The grumbling, on the other hand, was simply because he thought he had made the Executive Officer of the ship look like an idiot. Though the LT had really done it to himself on that endeavor, the young Lionheart still felt like crap for making a superior officer look like that. Back in school, he would have been forced to do some god awful amount of physical activity to appease said officer or drill instructor. But here, he had made out like a bandit.

Sighing and dry washing his face, Matthew entered the mess hall looking annoyed. The Cadet First Class walked up to serve himself, looking up and towards all the ladies of the support staff. Looking at all those forms, even a computer geek like Matthew could allow his annoyed expression to leave his face before taking his food and moving away. Looking around, the bearded Lionheart seemed to search the mess hall for a appropriate seat.

Making food on short notice in massive quantities was never as fun as cooking with a nice slow pace. Of course Chris didn't complain out loud, he just expected the VR to take longer then it did. The free time was always welcome, but work called and it wasn't long until food had been set out thanks to the help of the others.

The leftovers from the burritos were used in several rather ingenious ways, saving time in preparations. The lettuce and variety of vegetables were used to make a salad cart, with some new ingredients added in with a choice of dressings made readily available.

The left over hamburger was added with a large fresh batch, seems that meat doesn't last long. Though a good bit did remain which retained the distinct taste of spices. The taste would have to be overlapped with something stronger. Swedish meatballs would do nicely, with an over layering of sugar that distinctive sweet yet creamy sauce should combat the spice nicely, though not completely.

And finally the left over burrito mix. This took some creativity, as not many foods used it other then Mexican. Making it into pasta noodles was defiantly a bit strange, if not down right outrageous, but the little device that stretched dough into spaghetti worked beautifully though it defiantly wouldn't taste like regular spaghetti, but that's what the sauce was for.

Wazu virtually signed for some materials to be loaded onto the Alliance, including a series of tools to help with installation of new systems pending the captain’s approval. There was also the issue of Adrian which was going to create a backlog of paperwork in the form of electronic forms to fill out.

Wazu stopped in the hallway and rubbed his temple, leaning against the wall for a moment.

He brought his data pad up and set it to record a message. “I would like to make some modifications to the aft storage bay to make full accommodations for VR simulators and some upgrades to the life support systems. Full lists of the modifications are included as a virtual image with this message.” Wazu then passed the message on to the captain through Ally.

Wazu pushed off against the wall and started limping off toward the mess hall, data pad still in hand.

As Miller munched his sandwich, his datapad blipped. It was a message from Adrian, one of the marines.

Quote:
Technical Sentry Jonas P. Grames was admitted to medical bay today with minor cuts and bruises and a concussion. According to Armor Bay staff, these injuries came from unauthorized use of a Marine power armor.

His chewing slowed until he looked a bit like a cow.

Ooookkk... I'll need to have a chat with the staff down there.

Miller swallowed and took a sip of water.

Blip. Blip. Blip.

Hm... okay. It was a request for more materials.

Here was Miller's quick reply.

Quote:
Lieutenant, I am able to approve the materials request, but they'll have to wait until completion of our next mission. We're set to depart within the next few hours.

okay, that was taken care of. Most of the crew had assembled. He then saw that most of Alpha Squad just got up and left the cafeteria.

What the fuck? He checked his watch--Four minutes left.

Approximately 3 minutes later, Ally sent a message to his datapad.
Quote:
Captain, there has been an incident involving two marines. Lieutenant Heram has taken care of the issue, but I'm sending you the details now.

Miller's voice chimed over the intercom.

"All crew members and marines are required to report to the mess hall immediately for mission briefing."

He nodded at Wazu as he entered. The briefing would start come hell or high water, but he groaned inwardly at the latest turn of events.

At least the sandwich was good.

Valo had just finished carrying Adrian to the back of the medical bay. Valo picked up one of the medical beds in his free hand and carried it with him.

Valo sat the bed down and Adrian on top of it and immediately strapped his arms and legs down. As he did he spoke to Adrian “You must be restrained for the protection of yourself and others.” His way of speaking with no emotion was almost frightening.

After making sure Adrian was restrained Valo walked over to one of the medical supply cases to obtain the required doses of medication that would be needed for a detox.

Adrian watched Valo walk to the containers. He tried to say something to the machine, but all that really came out was a wierd mass of sounds. The murmuring in his skull had subsided slightly, but his brain and body still hurt.
The medic thought over the last couple moments of his life.
Trying to kill himself.
Ally coming in and giving her pre-programmed routine designed to stop a Marine from ending his life and wasting all that money the government had dumped into him by making it look like maybe someone cared.
The trek down the hallway on Driker's back.
It all sucked. How did that damn android stop him? Adrian breathed deep, just about the only thing in his body he was able to control.

Fian took a seat at the back of the mess hall with a hamburger. The Vel Steyr had not eaten anything since this morning, with the meeting starting soon he won't have time for a full meal either. Not wanting to think of the earlier incident(s) on an empty stomach. He took a bite of the meat and tried to swallow it, there was something odd about it but he just cant put a finger down on what exactly. Setting the hamburger aside, he looked around to see if Rico has arrived yet.

If that man is as tough as I think he is, he'll be here aaany minute now.

Fian half-heartedly took another bite at the hamburger. It still something odd about it but at least it tasted good.

Valo turned his head to Kokuten "No sir. I am capable of attending to this situation."

Valo walked back to the bed and held out his right arm allowing a small panel on his wrist to slide away and an empty vial lifted out. Valo replaced the empty container with a full one.

"Adrian is your name yes?" Valo asked without really expecting a response. Valo held out his right hand and a needle shot up from the end of the index finger "This will assist your body in cleaning itself. You may feel some discomfort over the next few hours, but I assure you it only means the medication is functioning properly"

Soreta arrived as mysteriously as she left the VR sims earlier - it was as if she just appeared with the other marines; rather uncomfortably close to Fian, notably, and munching on the rather peculiar improvised meal. She looked quite pleased with herself, not to mention the food.

This briefing affected her more than anyone; after all, she was their mission, wasn't she? Soreta's anticipation was at a head. Let's see what the good captain says now...

John entered the mess hall, eying the vast buffet of food and slapping his hand together in sheer joy. 'Oh YEAH" The marine grabbed a plate and started picking out what he wanted in large spoonfuls and handfuls, grabbing some refreshment and plopping down next to Fian.
"Heh there lil buddy!"

He then proceeded to salute the captain, and commenced a glorified face stuffing as if he were a pack of wolves that had just come upon a fresh kill. The sound of engorgement however was thankfully muffled out by the voices of the crew, for had they heard it at it is full roar the certainly would have become ill.

John's thoughts however wondered from the meal, over the news of Rico and Adrian, only to be interrupted by a rumbling from his digestive tract. He muttered the word "sabotage" once and lowly under his breath between bites as he leaned in the opposite direction of Fian, a cloud of what could be mistaken as some chemical warfare agent wafted from his own chair as he sat level once more and continued his meal, hoping the captain's announcments might be delayed long enough for a second course.

Kokuten gave a quick wave of the hand to Valo and to anyone else who still found themselves to be in or around the Med bay. The Medic then quickly jogged off, out of the Med bay and towards the Mess Hall. He whipped out a cigar and was about to light it, but decided to save it until after the meal. Kokuten's thoughts drifted back to the last moment he had quiet smoke, which was before the last sim. His last cigar was interupted when Ally busted in on Adrian and himself. He had to toss that one aside to restrain Rico.

What a waste, but best to forget about it.

The Cyborg slowed down as he entered the Mess Hall, he was rather hungry after the recent excitement and decided to grab spaghetti. He sat down towards the front of the Mess Hall, so he could hear that was all to be said. Though in the meantime, he would eat his meal. Though for some odd reason, it tasted like he was eating corn tortillias with meat sauce...[/i]

Rico firmly decided that it felt good to have his right arm back into working condition. However, he had not had the change to place a new cover of synthetic flesh on it and as such the mechanisms and cybernetics were laid bare underneath his military jacket. It was an odd feeling...he had not serviced his arm in a long time and it felt very different to him to have it exposed.

Rico picked up his already quick pace as he ran through the empty corridors of the NSS Alliance. As he rounded the last corner and the cafeteria bulkhead door came into view he smirked, glad to hear the roar of voices signifying that Miller had not started his speech yet. He quickly burst through the doorway, stopping a few feet off to the side to catch his breath.

Adrian felt the small needle puncture his flesh, and moments later more pain permeated his body.
Shit. Don't we have anything better for detox or is this prep for a lethal injection?
He tried to maybe roll over, which was quickly thwarted by the rather tight restraints.
Well damn. Looks like I'm gonna be in here for a long time.

(Mini-JP between Moonman, Fian and FM)

Oh god no. Fian thought as he heard the sound of fat boy detonating from John Hawkins rear end. Even before he could take his last breath of air, he was assaulted by the aromas of a thousand sewers. Quietly getting off the bench, he walked away to the other end of the canteen, his escape muffled by the sounds of John's own gastronomic adventure.

Soreta couldn't believe what she just breathed in. Even the worst of Nepleslian grunts were above open flatulence. She was fuming. In short order, she got up, stepped behind Hawkins, hit him upside the head with a well-recognized Yamataian technique, picked up her food, and followed in Fian's direction. Most of the other marines followed suit, although Soreta was the only one who hit him.

A group of marines were waving at Fian from a table; it consisted of some of the men he worked with during the VR Simulation. They had not had an opportunity to talk with him because he kept walking out of the room after each simulation. Feeling welcomed and rather eager to be distracted of huge concentrations of methane gas, he sat down next to them.

Soreta recognized the men from Epsilon Team - they were skilled, if not 'special' in the sense that she was. Sitting next to Fian once again, she softly resumed eating; unless she was called on, she had no reason to speak.

It has been a while since Fian had casually talked to the rest of the marines. The men were quite friendly to him. Somebody cracked a joke about a flaming marine and everybody laughed... For a while, then a stunned silence only perpetuated by the Vel Steyr's solo guffaw. Even that did not last very long either when he found out that nobody else is laughing. Something was wrong... Something was wrong to his right.

Soreta simply smiled.

Fian fell off his stool.

In the few moments he took to compose himself from his long sprint, Rico quickly glanced around the room in an attempt to spot some of his comrades. He found Fian amongst the crowd and attempted to wave him down...however, before he could do so, he was witness to the odd chain of events leading from a quick relocation away from John to Fian clumsily falling from his stool. By that time, however, Rico had moved close enough to assist his friend back up. "Careful baby, that's a good way to crack your head. Wouldn't want that to happen before you got your promotion, eh?" Rico laughed loudly, patting a hand on his back before briskly taking a seat across from him.

Fian was rendered speechless for a while. He was positively shocked that Soreta would be sitting with the marines, worse, sitting right next to him! The marines from Epsilon had also heard what Rico said and had started ruffling the stunned Vel Steyr.

"Vel Steyr and Sanoroma...it is good to see you can rely on one another." A smile from Soreta, who seemed highly amused at the exchange that just took place.

Rico flashed a sly smile as the gaggle of marines began to murmur and wave congratulations at Fian. He then looked back to Soreta for a moment, before speaking again. "Yeah, you heard right! Mr. P2C Vel Steyr just got a little bump in rank for his damn good leadership."

Soreta's next statement was rather cryptic. "Fast promotions are a common thing for soldiers like the two of you."

Fian had to take off the pressure. "And you too! P1C Sanorama!" He said, shaping his hands like a gun and pointing at Rico. And then he turned to Soreta. "And you, what brings you here with the grunts?"

Soreta was blunt. "I don't like Wazu; he may have what it takes, but I'll be damned if I can spend any more than 10 minutes around him." The statement was more true than she made out.

Rico laughed softly at Soreta's statement. "Aww, what's wrong with the Lieutenant? I think he's a swell guy...knows talent when he sees it," he said with a proud look on his face.

"Ah." Fian replied turning back to face Rico. He still felt uncomfortable near the Yamataian trained Geshrin, he still cant see her eyes! "How do you feel, Rico?"

Rico waved his right arm dismissingly at Fian, showing that it was in working condition. He did not know whether he was talking about the arm, or the drug treatments...although, Rico would've rather just talked about his arm. "Good as new baby. That Gran might be worth havin' around after all."

---

Abruptly, Soreta changed the subject. "So who do you like for the airbike race in FC next week?"

"Airbikes, eh?" Rico said, raising an eyebrow slightly. Rico himself had some experience with airbikes...a throwback from his days in Nepleslia. "My money's on Red Terrelso...guy's got talent, and none of those old farts can keep up."

"I trust El Pacino to win." Fian said, trying to recall what he heard from one fellow marine a long time ago. He was not a fan of airbikes, but he felt there is a duty to at least make the diplomat comfortable. "The latest Zen Arms hoverbikes may be statistically faster, but you don’t know what kind of modifications that guy did on his horse."

Soreta shook her head with a smirk. "Hardly...I hear Victory's coming back into the ring with some new sponsor, and none of the newer guys could hope to match him. it is just a rumor, though."

This time it was Rico's turn to change the subject. "So, ya like airbikes? What else do you like?" Rico said, adopting a much smoother smile as he leaned a bit in her direction.

"It almost sounds like you want to get kicked in the groin." A knowing smirk stretched across Soreta’s face

"Whoa whoa baby. I try not to get physical until the second date," Rico said with a chuckle. "Although, if you're that desperate I can make...a small exception."

"Cut it out Rico." Fian said, raising his voice a little. "I don’t think you are ready to go back to the medibay yet."

Rico glanced at Fian with an odd look for a moment before leaning back a bit. He was a little put off by Fian's comment…but he put that aside as he shrugged. "...fine. Maybe some other time, eh sweety? Me and Fian do have to keep up appearances."

Soreta seemed less than enthused at that idea. "Maybe someday you can go to Kyoto and find a neko who'll have you...that is, if Ally doesn't decide to erase all records of your existence. There's a reason Kessaku IES types aren't programmed for sexual relations..."

Fian felt that this was going to escalate into another argument and sure enough, somebody might just get hurt. "That’s enough, Soreta. Rico will always be Rico. You don’t want to raise a ruckus when the captain is this near starting the meeting." Fian paused to look at the plates on the table. "Enough talk, eat, before the captain begins."

Rico, again, gave another odd look through his smile. What is with all this crap I'm getting for Ally? She's a fuckin' computer... Rico took a moment to find something to say...he was running out of quips, and somewhere along the line the conversation had turned completely around. He suddenly smiled at Soreta...not so much a flirtatious smile, but an impressed one. "Heh. You're good. Fine...I'm done."

Istvan ate quickly. Not talking much. He was curious about a couple things. He was upset with Rico still, though he understood that Rico had not been under controll... and he was curious about Benji. He was unsure how much of the kiss the man had given rico was in jest, but he was interested. He was not at his most personable though, wanting to get some of the food in his stomach before anything would interrupt. It tasted funny.... not at all like the good wintr borscht his mother used to make, but he was used to this oddness, he had been in the army a long time, and they rarely ate the foods he was used to.

Gran had waved after the running Rico, who then dashed off to the mess hall to meet the other marines and prepare for the briefing. Gran stood in place as Rico left the medbay. He sat back down in the chair beside the bed, he picked up the burnt connector that he had removed from Rico's arm and stared at it for a full two minutes. His knuckles throbbed and he slowly looked at them, he obviously bruised ligaments from hitting the wall and the panel to the medbay door, they had swelled nicely.

He got up and ran some cold water over his slightly damaged hand, soothing the ache. His gaze fell on the flowing water but soon wandered over to where Adrian was tied down. His other hand took a small glass from the wall and filled it with the cool water and found a short piece of sterile plastic tubing that would serve as a straw. His feet walked towards the door and by Adrian's bed, his hand setting the glass near Adrian's head, the straw within easy reach of his mouth. He quickly continued out the door and walked swiftly to the mess hall.

Upon arriving, he silently grabbed a tray and filled it. He chose to sit at a relatively empty and quiet table, not too far from Rico, Fian, and Soreta. He stared blankly at his tray as he munched his vitals, not really thinking about his surroundings, just waiting for the briefing.

Adrian listened to Valo and gritted his teeth to the best of his ability.
And that'll happen when?
However, there was no protest that could actually be made in his current physical state, so he decided to catch some sleep anyway.
Adrian heard a faucet running and looked to where Gran was standing.
As Gran walked over with the small glass of water, the medic readied himself for a face-full of water or a beat-down. Neither happened.
As Gran walked away, Adrian stared at the cup.
Is it poisoned? Gran was pretty pissed about Rico...
Until he knew for sure, he didn't dare touch the water.

Jet had arrived earlier than the crew, but he'd kept to himself off to the side, quietly eating a little late breakfast thanks to the ladies. Once it began to fill up he stayed where he was, passively listening to what was going on as he looked over. "I wonder what the good captain has to say to us all, surely it is not to just chill out here and sample the cooking." He said aloud and chuckled dryly. "I just hope we don't have anymore angsty moments."

Finally choosing to sit down at a random place, the warrant officer would find that his wandering through the mess hall had taken him to the seat just in front of Soreta. Only mildly glancing around, the young cadet kept his silence as he began to eat his meal. His mind was too focused on his own work to allow it to concentrate on observing his surroundings.

damn it...why to Elysian Systems have to be organic, the computer specialist fumed mentally as he took a bite and chew. His face echoed his thoughts now as his eyebrows narrowed in both concentration and annoyance. I can hack into any computer without an AI easily and even the systems with AI if I were cautious about it, he fumed more as he sipped a glass of water. Why do the freaking angels have to be different and use organics instead of tech!?

Benji reluctantly made his way from the med bay and then into the mess hall. He didn’t bother getting himself lunch or taking a seat. The big guy was still holding a maroon colored cloth, originally white, to his nose and wishing the medics would actually pay attention for once in their lives. He took a look around and he started towards and empty chair and that’s when things began to get fuzzy.

He guessed it must have been the blood loss but suddenly he wavered on his feet and was really dizzy. Without a chair to sit in he took an abrupt sit with a resounding thud. Benji blinked to clear his foggy vision and then said “Aww shit...” He closed his eyes and waited for a few seconds before opening them, seeing the blood on his arm he sighed. He whipped his hands off on his pants and then pulled a small, personal PDA out of his pocket and sent a message to his sister.

Quote:
Request for MY meds at the NSS Alliance, how soon?

He waited a few seconds and then read his sister’s reply

Quote:
I’m sorry dear brother, but I can’t bring them in person this time around… You interrupted something…important.

Benji snorted and his face turned red. She was probably being forced into doing something with her husband again.

Quote:
Well I’m sorry but you know how I am, please just one case?! Please?!

He licked the blood of his upper lip and was quite aware that other marines were beginning to stare at him and the bloody mess he was making. He didn’t dare take his eyes off the PDA and then sighed in relief when he got her reply.

Quote:
Fine Benji, It’ll be there in a minute. DON’T do this again with short notice or I swear I’ll leave you… cold turkey…

Benji turned the PDA off and stuck it back in his pocket. He lifted the cloth back to his nose and then got to his feet and wavered unsteadily on them. “Damn…” her muttered and then without another look at anyone else he walked out, although he did look like he was either on drugs or drunk, which he was only on the former of the two.

Once away from the hubbub of the mess hall he made his way down to where they first got on the ship. He was leaving a small trail of blood down the hall. With a sigh he told himself he’d clean it up later. Before he went out he said “Ally I have to pick something up from a friend of mine. If Anyone asks where I am, tell them I’ll be back soon…” And then he left the ship. Sure he could be in trouble for it, but he didn’t give a damn at the moment.

He waited patiently and a minute later, a young boy raced up to him and handed him a box about a foot long and six inches high. He took the box and then patted the boy’s head. “Thank you…” The boy nodded and walked off and Benji returned to the ship. Once in the hall he took a seat and leaned back against the hall. He opened the box, reached in and pulled out a tiny vile of clear liquid. He pulled a needle out of the compartment in the heel of his boot and loaded it full of the container’s contents and then stuck the needle into his neck and injected himself with the drug. That done, he replaced the needle and then slid the container back into the box. He staggered back to his feet and set off down the hall as the drug set to work in his system.

Miller checked the time, then stepped up to the microphone and cleared his voice, which did wonders to calm down those present in the mess hall.

"Everyone, I have some good news to share before we get down to business. Due to your hard work, we've successfully claimed Planet X for the empire. In my hands here is an official commendation from High Command. They've renamed the planet Nepleslia Prime and have begun operations for settlement and mining of the planet's surface. Mission accomplished, guys!"

After a raucous round of applause from the crew, Miller raised his hands to quiet the audience.

"That being said, however, we have little time for relaxation. If you'll direct your attention the seat over there..."

He motioned to where Soreta, the diplomat, was sitting.

"I'm sure some of you have met Soreta over here. She is a trained diplomat in the service of Nepleslia, and, as such, she has been assigned to us for escort duty."

The captain gave some time for those in the audience who had not met the diplomat to catch a glimpse or two. A few of the more rowdy marines yelled out cat calls.

"SHUT UP AND LISTEN UP MARINES," shouted Cadet Willis, who made a motion like he was about to leap off the stage and kick some asses. "OR I'LL GIVE YOU SOMETHING TO YELL ABOUT!" The ID-SOL was feeling pent up enough as it was.

Miller simply nodded to the cadet before returning to his speech.

"Keep your shit to yourselves because we're in for some serious business... with the Elysians."

The magic word had been spoken. The word that was used for more dirty jokes per capita than an entire nude neko battalion. It was the same word that brought, for many present in the room, memories and emotions so painful that faces visibly grimaced.

And it was the word that brought the room to silence. Miller kept a stone face even though he felt a slight turning in his stomach.

"We will be departing for Elysia in the next 3 hours. We will travel at a light cruising speed so as to avoid ambush until we reach our destination. From the moment we leave dock until the moment we leave Elysian space, we will be on alert. We are going alone so as not to alarm the Elysians, but that does not mean will be unprepared. Hopefully, we can get the hell out of there as soon as possible."

He brought up a holographic map of Elysia, which appeared on each mess hall table.

"When we arrive at Elysia, we will form a marine team to escort the diplomat as she performs her duties. The marines who are granted this responsibility WILL demonstrate the UTMOST respect for Elysian hierarchy as well as their culture. If you don't know what to do then shut the hell up. The command staff will not tolerate any foolishness. Our entire nation's future rests on this mission."

The captain didn't reveal any of the details, but Wazu's datapad, as well as the datapads of the rest of the command staff would reveal the gruesome punishment they were to deal out for insubordination.

"Remember, we leave in three hours. Any questions can be directed to Lieutenant Wazu, who will be in charge of team selection. The rest of the command staff will resume their duties after lunch. Marines should remain with their teams until further notice. That is all."

Istvan grimaced. Whomever was escorting the dimplomat, odds were they would not be respectful towards her. He hoped he could go to keep them in line... His fist was itching from the incident in the hall, and he wanted, no NEEDED, to hit someone to get the anger about what had happened to that poor genshin out of his system... And Rico was not a good target since, in the end, he had not had control of himself. Adrian was not a good target because he claimed he had not known THAT would happen... So the next offender would get punched....

Istvan's smile gave no hint to his dark musings, as he finished the food on his plate

Adrian stared at the ceiling of the medbay. It was too... white. He had amused himself briefly by looking at whatever large warning labels he could read from his position on the bed, but that got old pretty quick.
He was glad that a large amount of the sedative seemed to have worn off with the detox drug, even if it hurt like a bitch.
Also, the nasty noises in his skull finally quit out. It felt nice to finally have a clear head, and odd, too. However, as wondrous as it was, the medic was horrifically bored, especially now that his ADD was no longer in check. After moving his mouth a few times to make sure it would actually move, he turned his head to Valo.
"Oi, Robot. Can I get out of these damn straps, please?"

Kokuten's eyes clacked as he listened to the briefing. A trip on diplomatic terms to Elysia sounded exciting. The idea of representing Nepleslia on such a scale seemed like an honor. His father would've been proud if he knew that his son was on such a mission. Though his mind drifted back to the world, and remembered that Adrian was still in the Med Bay.

Wonder' if his condition has improved...

The Medic picked up his tray and emptied off of what was left of the Spahgetti and trotted off to the Med Bay. When he arrived to the Med Bay, he found Adrian still strapped down. He walked over and took a look at the screens monitoring Adrian's status. The Cyborg looked up at the Robot monitoring his status.

"I can take it from here if you wish, the briefing was just finished a few minutes ago." Kokuten said with a grin, figuring he'll save his cigar for a little later. He looked back down at Adrian, and scratched his small beard.

The doors to the med bay opened up and Wazu limped in cane first. He stood in front of the automated surgery table in the center of the room, resting his weight on his cane as he called out “Medic!” He didn’t bother looking around to see if anyone besides Adrian was there but he assumed that the medical staff would have gotten back after the speech from the captain. Wazu had spent nearly twenty minutes discussing just what to do with Adrian as well as various other issues of importance. “What did the brain chemistry analysis say about Adrian?”

Kokuten's head shot to Wazu's direction as he was looking over Adrian. "Er, the detoxification process is working well, the drug he took are almost erased from his systems." Kokuten said pointing at the screen. "As you can see, there are small amounts, but not enough to really effect any little way."

Adrian stared up at Wazu with a slight tinge of resentment shading his eyes. He was still a little sore at the XO after their altercation earlier.

“Alright,” Wazu said, nodding to Kokuten before turning to Adrian. “The captain has graciously decided to put you on probation instead. Every twelve hours I expect you to return to be in the med bay so.” Wazu looked down at his data pad quickly then glanced back up at Adrian, “So that Kokuten here can balance your brain chemistry and make sure you aren’t fucked up beyond what should be normal. You will not be permitted to carry a sidearm and I will have Ally keep a close eye on everything that you do. Unless it is an emergency, you will not be performing any major surgery directly and you will need to document which meds you take from the med bay, the quantity, and intended use.” Wazu then looked up at Kokuten and said, “You may release his restraints.”

As Adrian was being held in one of the bunk beds on the sides of the room, and the other bunks were folded up into the wall, he shouldn’t have to much of a problem getting to his feet.

Kokuten complied and began loosening the restraints on the Medical Officer. "Okay, these were put on pretty tight, so I suggest shaking your limbs a little to get your blood flowing a bit better." Kokuten said as he removed the last restraint.

"Thanks Kokuten." Adrian stood a little shakily and began whipping his left arm back and forth, attempting to restore blood loss. Damn it, Valo. A little tighter next time? Adrian then stood at attention and looked Wazu in the eye. "I understand, Sir. I will report to the medical bay every twelve hours, and will report all withdrawals of medication. Thank you sir. And please extend my thanks to the captain, as well."

Wazu narrowed his eyes, “Do not screw up again.” He then turned around and limped away, knocking open the door as he passed through.

After Wazu left, Adrian looked at his feet and sighed. Shit. Probation is gonna suck. As the door closed to the med bay, Adrian spoke, "Sorry you get all the bloody squirts covering your uniform mate. You know... Wazu should really have his leg looked at."

Kokuten pulled off his beret and stuffed it in his pocket. One of his eyes followed Wazu as he left and one was in Adrian's direction. "What happened to his leg?" Kokuten queried.

"No idea. I'd assume he got the hell pounded out of it. Usually a limp like that without a recent injury means a lot of fractures at the same time. But I know they do treatments now to replace bone mass with synthetic stuff. I can't imagine he didn't have it done if he was going to head out with us, but whoever did it did a shitty job." Adrian looked to his subordinate. "You know, we can ask Ally... Ally, could you please show me the medical file for Wazu, Heram J."

"Affirmative," Ally said through the PA system. She displayed Wazu’s recent medical history on the screen in the back of the med bay. Entries from a little more than about two months ago were either non-existent or listed as Star Army of Yamatai property. However, that recent medical history was quite extensive, covering the entire screen in a scrolling text,
“Multiple cranial fractures,
Lacerated lungs, stomach,
Metal fragments embedded in spinal cord,
Exploded bronchi
Damaged synthetic respiration system
Fractured leg, left
Fractured leg, Right
Third degree burns
Fractured arm.

The list continued on, describing in detail where and what had been damaged. It then started listing the treatments and medical logs of the various operations to patch him up.

"God damn! How is he even alive!?" exclaimed the startled medic. "This guy doesn't need medical treatment, he needs an entirely new body!"

It took Adrian about 2 minutes to scan the large amount of text, his eyes widening more with every word read. Holy shit. No wonder he's so uptight. "Yeah, no shit. How he survived the injuries long enough to even get treatment is astounding in itself. Thank you Ally, that will be all for now." Adrian turned away from the screen and stretched his arms above his head. "Damn it is good to be off that table."

Kokuten nodded, "Ah, yes, I've been meaning to ask, what happened to you? Valo reacted to Allys call to your room faster than I did."

Adrian turned and smiled at Kokuten. "Long story short, I went batshit and tried to put a round in my skull. Hence my new no sidearms policy."

"Hrm, well that's what you get for taking a drug as old as Zyberifone." Kokuten continued, "So, do you want to hear the details of the briefing?"

"Sure. What did our glorious leader have to say to the unwashed masses?"

"He went over the importance of the mission, how high command gave the crew a commendation for taking 'Planet X'. The decided to name the planet, Nepleslia Prime." Kokuten said pausing to remember the other things. "I think we're leaving in 3 hours, we're to escort the diplomat and respect the Elysian culture, or else, thats about it."

Adrian hopped up on a medical table, his legs swinging slowly over the edge. "Heh. A commendation for more imperialism. And why the hell are we sending a Geshrin diplomat to Elysia? I thought he said we were supposed to respect the Elysians."

"How would sending a Geshrin disrespect the Geshrins?" Kokuten said confused.

Adrian raised an eyebrow at his friend. "It wouldn't disrespect the Geshrin at all, but the Elysians despise the Geshrin beyond all belief. Has to do with the big wars they were having years ago."

"That is strange, how would Elysian's handle the Diplomats presence?" Kokuten questioned once more.

"Well, if they're not openly petty, they'll probably just be a little less agreeable in the talks. But we're talking about Elysia, so they'll probably execute the diplomat and try and shoot the hell out of us."

Adrian let out a light laugh. "Although, I guess dead Soreta is a personality improvement over the current one."

"That would incite war between the Elysians and Nepleslians!" Kokuten rubbed his beard. "You don't think that the Elysians are foolish enough to just plainly open up on us?"

“I was kind of joking, I doubt they would make an open declaration of war. They know we have the NDI backing us up, and nobody wants to mess with them right now, least of all a nation as weak as Elysia. But it honestly would not surprise me if they killed the diplomat. Especially a bitch like this one."

"Well, she seems to warm up to Vel Steyr well enough." Kokuten raised a finger.

Adrian shrugged. "I think she just likes him because he did well in the sims and saved her ass from getting charred by a blast of anti-matter. Then again, Fian's a nice enough guy."

"Er... So, what do we do inbetween the time of arriving at Elysia and now?" Kokuten questioned the Medical Officer.

Benji walked down the halls of the ship, his nose had finally quit bleeding and he was all upped on his special little drugs. he wavered as he walked down the hall and then kept going. It wasn't untill he made it to the med bay that he looked seriously... not right. He set the box down and made sure it is contents wouldn't get broken. He found Kokuten and Adrian and then watched them silent before speaking up. "Ugh... Koku?" He said reachign out to put a hand on the wall. "Rico broke my nose... can you do anything for it?" he asked. He became aware of the fact that he was all covered in dry blood and probably looked like he'd been to Elysia and back allready.

"Elysians." Fian muttered. He isnt racist, but bio-engineering a plague and massacaring 80% of the Nepleslian population doesnt earn them any brownie points.

... But thats all he knew about them, other than that they look like angels.

"So... Soreta. Anything about conduct that we need to know?"

(JP between me and Kokuten)
ON: NSS Alliance Medbay

Adrian hopped off the table. "I got one idea. give me a cigar."

Kokuten pulled a cigar out of his back pocket, one of his own Zunibabi cigars. The LEDs that represented his irises glowed. "What for?" Kokuten asked suspiciously.

Adrian reached out and made a move to snag the cigar. "Trust me, you'll like it."

Kokuten attempted to object as one of his cigars dissappeared from his hands Though the Medic decided to let him do what he wanted with it, he had plenty more.

Adrian took the cigar and put it on the table. He reached into one of the numerous pockets of his belt and pulled out a small black bag made to block whatever was in it from seeing light and to keep the smell of it in. He held it up and twirled it around in his fingers before he set it down, too. He examined the cigar for a moment and then turned to Kokuten. "I need a knife, just a small one, but it needs to be sharp."

Kokuten nodded, "That should be simple." He walked over to the counter and whipped out a scalpel. The Cyborg then handed the scalpel to Adrian, "Scalpel." He said in a operators assistant sort of tone.

"Thanks, mate." He knelt down and picked up the cigar. He picked up the scalpal and cut the thin over-wrap of the cigar after peeling off the brand sticker. He removed the wrapper and put it down on the wrap. He quickly unrolled the thicker paper, laying it flat, revealing the brown tobacco.

Using the scalpel, he pushed the moist brown material off the paper and onto the table. With that, he opened the small black bag and took out a several thick, dense, and wet clumps of marijuana out.

"What the hell are you doing with a bag of Mary Jane!?" Kokute exclaimed, seeing one of his cigars butchered into a blunt.

Adrian looked up at him with a slight winkle in his eye. "What does it look like, Koku?" He turned back to his work and began breaking up the dense clumps with his fingers.

"Are you kidding? What happens when an emergency pops up and we're higher than fuckin' birds!?" Kokuten's hand reached for his forhead but stopped, trying to comprehend the Medical Officers sense.

Not looking up, Adrian let out a laugh. "Heh, correction, what happens when an emergency pops up and you're higher than a bird. I'm on probation. I can't do shit with emergencies. As for you... you can deal. Hopefully." By that time, he had finished splitting up most of the grass. Looking down, he split several objects off, picked them up, and extended them to Kokuten. "Yo, chew these up. Blow your mind."

Kokuten waved his hands, refusing the grass. "I dunno man, this just doesn't seem like a good idea. I've never really done any of this stuff before...

Adrian rolled his eyes, and popped them in his own mouth. He started straightening the pot on the paper and began rolling it. "Listen, Kokuten, have you ever done any of those Emrys pheremones, like calm? it is like those. It won't be that bad, mate. And that's if you smoked like all of this."

"That's what my friend told his partner in the Medical Academy when he offered some Kasserine." Kokuten said with stern look on his face.

Adrian stared the shorter medic in the eye. "Big difference between a little grass and a dose of Kaserine. Shit's not even a narc or a psych."

Kokuten's LED Irises glowed as he stared the taller medic in the eye with uncertainty. "I... er... I don't wanna' get hooked on this stuff."

Adrian stopped his rolling movements at Kokuten's last comment, and turned to look at him. A moment later, he burst out laughing. "Hahahaha you don't hahaha wanna get hooked hahahaha on pot hahahahaha!" A few moments later, his laughter had mostly subsided. "Heh heh. Listen, I don't know who you've been talking to, put you can't get hooked on the Mary Jane, mate."

"Er, alright, whatever. I'll try and see if I enjoy it, if I don't, I'll shove it up your ass for wasting one of my Zunibabis." Kokuten grunted frustratedly.

"If you don't enjoy this, kill yourself, because there is no way you can ever enjoy anything." He rolled the base paper up, picked up the wrap, and rolled it around it. With a lick, he was able to seal it. He held up the slightly smaller new and improved cigar. "Want the first hit off this shit?"

Kokuten snatched the blunt out of Adrians hands. The Medic observed the deformed cigar and stuck it to his mouth. He took a look at Adrian and then took a deep breath. The next thing Kokuten knew, his cybernetic eyes began to fuzz, and crackle. His body began to feel... different "Whoa... My eyes..." He said as the LEDs began blinking in and out.

Adrian grinned. "Hey man, it is puff puff pass." He reached out and snagged the blunt, and stuck it in his mouth. He looked at the end, which seemed to have lost most of it is flame. "Lemme see your lighter, I need to cherry it again."

Kokuten's view fizzled as he reached for his lighter. "Here ya go, dude." Kokuten grinned as he handed the lighter over.

Adrian laughed a bit as he took the lighter, sparked it, and lit the blunt again. He puffed a bit, pulled it out of his mouth, and held it out to Kokuten. He shook his head at the medic, a wide grin on his face. "Haha. Maaan you are so waaaaasted."

Kokuten grin was wide and stupid. "Heh Heh, Man this stuff is great! I don't know why I didn't do this before!" He sucked in more smoke from the blunt and handed it back to Adrian.

"Yeah, man, it is fuckin' great isn't it?" He took a long drag and held it in for a couple seconds. "Hey hey, check this shit out, yo." He began expelling smoke rings from his mouth.

"Wooo... Nice... How did you do that?" Kokuten said giving a little crack-headed laugh.

As the two medics sat laughing like the high psychos they were, a Geshrin made her way through the halls towards the medbay. She hummed lightly as she walked, and tried to think about the numerous adventures she'd have, the people she'd meet, and wondered if she'd even meet someone she wouldn't be compelled to hate. After asking the ship's AI for directions once or twice, she found herself outside the medbay door, fully expecting two sharp, disciplined, and intelligent young Nepleslian doctors to be waiting for her. She took a breath, and walked through the door.

"P3C Suku Matsobuki, reporting for medical duties under Medic Kokuten Chiaki and Medical officer Adrian Decane..." By the time she reached this point in her sentence, she trailed off as she saw the spectacle before her and began to process it. A large, extremely high and very giggle-y cyborg with a small beard and LCD eyes that appeared to need some repairs, and a 6'4" man with green and white hair blowing smoke rings straight up and grinning wider than a shark.

Kokuten's eyes clacked as he attempted to stand, almost falling over in laughter. He walked over Suku and made a bow, and began to speak in Japanese. "Hi, my name is Kokuten Gaiasis Chiaki, he he he... the 5th."

Adrian blinked at Kokuten's torrent of Japanese, but was slightly more interested in the new crew member. "Woah. Hey there, newbie." He stood, reasonably serious, but still a little loopy. He walked over and held his hand out. "Heh, Adrian Decane, medical officer. Nice to meet you. He took her hand and shook it. A moment later, he remembered the blunt in his hand. He held it up to her. "Uuuuh, want some sticky icky? Kennewessan Green, super-bud of the first degree."

Suku watched the first man approach her and start spewing Japanese, the other seemingly with a lack of good balance. When offered the blunt she pushed it aside, she didn't exactly like what she was seeing. "I... er... Why are you smoking this in the Med Bay of all places?" She asked.

"He He, I asked the same thing!" Kokuten chuckled, leaning against one of the tables.

"Uh, well, ya' know, it is like, clean in the medbay..." Adrian paused for a hit, " and that means the floaties won't come in. And that's GOOD, ya know, cuz the floaties..." Adrian stopped when his explanation was met with a look of rather excessive criticism. "It makes sense when you're high..." He backed off a bit and went and sat down on the other table, next to all of his stuff. "Well, anyway, this is our medbay, state of the art, nice filtration system, pretty, clean, etc. Kokuten, you want any more of this?"

"Nah, I don't need to get any more messed up." Kokuten waved, chuckling a little.

Adrian gave a slight laugh and took another hit. "Suit yourself. But yeah, we're pretty fucked. Heh." picking up his special weed bag, Adrian pressed the cigar into it, putting it out quickly. The bag was apparently made for such things. He then dropped the rest of the cigar (about a quarter) in, closed the bag, and put it away. "So, Suku, where'd you come from? We never knew we were getting a transfer down here."

Suku looked critically at the older and much taller medic as he cleaned up his drugs. The stench of the smoke was very strong. "I'm from Funky City. I guess I'm here because some people aren't very professional with their work." She leaned against the wall and glared at the two medics.

Kokuten frowned, a deeper frown than he usually would give. "Bah, this is really my first time gettin' high." Kokuten's LED Irises began to start to return to a normal glow. "The guy over there, is why I'm not my normal self." Kokuten pointed a metal finger at Adrian.

Adrian narrowed his eyes at the Geshrin. "Fine, be a bitch. See how much fun duty is then. And Kokuten, I didn't force you to do shit man." Adrian smiled at his friend, and decided to simply ignore the rude Geshrin rather than waste good weed with a bad mood.

At that moment, Benji came in and started talking about Rico breaking his nose. "Oh... right with ya, mate." He thought for a second. "Actually... yeah, Kokuten would be a better choice for this."

Kokuten clacked his eyes with his blinks and gained a bit of balance. He looked at Suku, "I'll properly introduce myself later." The Medic then walked up the broke nose Marine. "Alright, sit on the table and let me see..." Kokuten said to Benji.

All this talk about Elysia put Rico in a somewhat bitter mood. He didn't like Elysians. At all. All the Nepleslian propoganda and bad history with Elysia didn't help that fact. He scoffed as Fian asked his question to Soreta.

"Conduct? Shit baby, we go in, sweet-cheeks does her thing, and we leave," Rico spat out venomously, with a bitter smirk across his face. "All ya need to know is, if one of those winged pricks talks to ya, they aren't sayin' anythin' worth listenin' too. And if they start pointin' guns, you shoot first."

"Well it is clear one person who's not guarding the ambasitor" Istvan said dryly from behind Rico. "I doubt you have the self controll to shut your clap-trap long enough. I have no love for the Elisians myself mind, but at least I know how to be silent...." Istvan winked at Rico. "I appologise for any damage I did while subduing you, but you were not... in control. It might be good to send the girl a letter of apology?"

“PRIVATE THIRD CLASS RICO.” Wazu shouted out as he opened the door to the mess hall. “GET IN THE HALLWAY NOW!” With that Wazu let the door close and stood out in the hallway, waiting for Rico to come over to him.

Istvan stepped gingerly out of Rico's way "Better you then me." he said.

Rico snapped to attention as the Lieutenant yelled out for him from the bulkhead. Rico shot a quick glance at those at the table before abruptly standing up and replacing his beret on his head. He briskly walked out into the hallway, stopping in front of Wazu with a salute. "Yes sir?"

Jet smirked, sipping his coffee. "Someone's getting his ass chewed out." he said, as he lazily laid back in his chair the thump of hia boot landing on the table as he put them up.

Gran had been polishing off the last bit of his meal, quietly. He had wanted to go back to his room, but decided to wait for whatever was going on between Rico and Wazu to stop, giving him a window of silence.

Wazu’s grey eyes focused in on Rico as he shifted his weight to his right side, resting his right hand on his cane while the left hand pulled out a set of bars from the pocket on his uniform. “Your promotion came through. Keep this up and you will be S F C at the end of the Elysian Op.” He then tossed the bars over to Rico.

Rico let out a quiet sigh of relief as Wazu revealed the intention of the meeting. Rico's hand quickly shot out to grasp the rank bars, before returning another salute accompanied with a proud grin. "Yes sir!"

John leaned on the table, listening to the announcements and finishing up his meal as Rico was called out. [i} I don't know about all this, don't think we can really trust those "angels" after all that had happened, but maybe this will be good for the empire. [/i] He looked around and sighed, noticing he was alone after the silent gas attack that had plauged the table earlier.

“I also want you to be part of the delegation to Elysia.” Wazu said to Rico, “It will be a diplomatic mission so we will most likely be going down there without power armors, in small numbers, and probably either unarmed or lightly armed. I would like you to also pick one marine you trust to go down there with us as well. Fian is off limits because I have a different assignment for him. This is also subject to change once we reach Elysia, I expect you to be able to adapt to a very fluid situation.”

Rico's grin waned a bit as he listened to Wazu's instructions. There was a lot of decisions to be made there...and he silently questioned if he wanted to accept this mission at all. He was not a fan of Elysians...and Fian would've been a prime candidate, had he not been singled out by Wazu. He did not voice his disapproval, however, and returned a salute once more. "...yes sir, I accept. How long do I have to choose the other marine?"

“You have until we arrive but it would be best if you have your selection made before we leave the starbase,” Wazu said simply.

"Yes sir!" Rico replied firmly.

"Alright, now get back to your meal." Wazu said, "DIS-MISSED!"

Istvan saw Rico re-entering the dining hall "Well, what did he want?" Istvan asks, "I'm burning up with curiosity here...."

After being dismissed, Rico did not waste any time. He quickly attached the new rank plates onto his green jacket, turning and flexing as he admired the new addition. He was swelling with pride, and he didn't intend on letting anybody ruin it as he returned back into the mess hall.

"Nothin' much baby," Rico said as he stopped in front of Istvan's table. ", just gave me my new rank promotion, as well as assign me in charge of the Elysian mission." His words were so sugar-coated it would've made any child in the nearest mile come running.

Wazu pulled out his data pad, holding it up in his free hand and checking over what he needed to do. As Rico entered the mess hall Wazu looked over for Fian but decided that Rico needed some time to pick his team mate. He then asked, “Ally, Do we have the parts to get the med bay’s sanitation door working?”

Istvan squinted at the rank-pins "Borjoi-moi." he said "That's shiny. That is... unexpected as well. You? In diplomacy? You sure you know the right spoon to use in an official feast?"

Adrian came through the door to the mess hall opposite the one Rico had used, practically kicking it open. Wielding his electric bass and his loud, reasonably unrestrained voice, he burst into the cafeteria with a loud bass line going reasonably well. "UNDER MY VOODOO! YEAH it is UNDER MY VOODOO!!" He screamed the song pretty loud. The rising and falling of the bass line sounded great to the intoxicated medic's ears, but the small Geshrin tailing him and yelling at him to stop didn't think so. Finally, Suku grabbed the top of his bass and ripped it away, which didn't stop the really loud singing. The Geshrin growled at her boss and went to sit and mess around with the instrument she had confiscated.

"Pfft. As if Elysians eat with spoons. I'd be surprised if they even ate real food at all." Rico replied venomously.

"They eat the same things we do." Jet said with a yawn. "you're never going to succeed if you don't keep you temper in your pants."

Gran saw that the meeting outside the door was now quiet and thought it would be his best chance to make it back to the sleeping quarters. He crossed the room heading for the door, but slowed as the obviously stone medic stormed in.

Istvan laughed "Certainly they do not eat my mother's fine Borscht. You marines do not know what real food is until you've had it..." Adrian burst in "Ummm He reminds me of the man."

Rico smiled back at Jet. "it is not temper baby...besides, it is got me this far. Better watch yourself or I might be sittin' at your desk soon," he said with a loud laugh. "Not that likely boy." Jet said calmly and kept sipping his drink. "And it is temper, try being nice to the Elysians."

Gran moved to the door after Adrian vacated it, swiftly marching down the halls, his mind silently directing him to his quarters.

John walked up behind Istvan and patted him on the shoulder. "I prefer boiled cabbage with sausage to any mother...'s Borscht" John chuckled and looked over the motley cast of marines at the table. Istvan snorted at John’s comment. "Cabbage and sausage? Good, but winter borscht with good beef in it..." the look on his face was blissful "It is like drinking heaven."

At this point, Adrian had stopped singing completely and had just started skanking around the room while his assistant watched him. "Hey, do any of you Marines know what's wrong with this damn Nepleslian?" She turned back to her crazed boss.

Istvan looked curiously at the Geshrin woman. "Oh. He's just high." he said "Pretty common here. Pay it no heed"

John shrugged and smirked. "To each their own comrade." He sat down at a free spot towards the end of the table. "Oh, and if you all are worried, I'm done with the noxious gas attacks." He chuckled to himself and leaned on the table rather amused.

Jet gave John a dark look at the mention of gas attacks. "If you're using our canisters I'm going to have to bitch-slap you into the brig." he smirked, that smirk saying he'd do it and like doing it. John rose a twitching brow at jet's retort and then smirked. "I think my own PERSONAL mixture is far more potent."

Istvan looked worried "Do not demonstrate, please, I just finished eating."

"Then I'm having Ally confine you to quarters while you produce it," Jet smirked.

"Hey there, JOHNNY!" Adrian slammed his shoulder into John's back and continued his crazed ska dance around the cafeteria.

John's eyes had nearly bugged out of his eyes when Adrian slapped his shoulder. "Geez, you feelin’ okay there Adrian?" John gave him a concerned and frightened look.

Rico flashed a challenging look at Jet as he spoke, but before he could reply, he was interrupted by the Geshrin woman behind him. As he noticed her, Rico immediately went into his usual sly grin...however, before he could whisper a single sweet nothing, he caught sight of Adrian. This soured his mood, enough even to pull him away from the attractive Geshrin woman in front of him. He quickly turned back to Istvan and Jet's table. "Yeah, that's great, gotta run, I'll see you guys later," he spoke quickly, afterwards turning to Suku. "...and I'll see you later, okay sugar?" Rico mumbled quietly at her, flashing a flirtatious smile.

Istvan's arm shot out, trying to grab Rico, "That was not very polite..." Istvan grumbled out as he attempted to stop Rico.

Rico quickly danced out of the way of Istvan’s hand, not bothering to look back at the group of marines. He quickly walked through the doorway and into the corridors. He wasn't hungry anymore.

Benji beat his forehead several times against one of the bulkheads of the med bay before picking up his box and leaving. He got himself lost and then after stowing his precious cargo under his bunk he returned to the Mess hall to find a new girl... Greshin... and many of the marines all sitting together. With a sigh he fetched himself a late lunch and dispite the odd looks from everybody because of his nose he took a seat near the new girl.

He listined to them talk and shook his head. Eithout minding if anyone heard he spoke to Suku hoping she, of all people on the god damned ship, would acctually pay any attention to him. "They're all evil, watch out for Rico, he'll rape ya any chance he gets. keep an eye on Kokuten, he likes to choke on his cigars, Fian's the only NICE guy around here. Adiran's psycho, John? don't know much about him, Istivan? well.... He fits in after Fian... and me? I'm just invisible to EVERYONE around here... pay no attention..."

He sighed and the popped open the top of the box and pulled out the half empty vial of his sister's drugs and gave himself another shot and stowed the needle away. He replaced the vial and then after a minute he smiled happily and went back to eating. Of course after a bit he pushed the tray away from him, lay his head down on the table and passed out completely as the drug slowed his heart rate.

Istvan heard Benji's grumbling, and turned. "Oh?" he asked "I am honored to be counted as a nice guy as an afterthought." he wispered to Benji. "Oh, and Rico had been injected with two doses of vigor... He did not have much control of himself at the time. Not that it excuses what he did...."

Istvan blinked at the drugs, but he had nothing to say about them. There was nothing wrong in HIS mind about doing some drugs so long as you did not hurt anyone.

Istvan shooks his head "I recall that you... kissed him. How serious was that kiss?" Istvan sounded intensly curious, though what about was hard to tell. "I am new here, and do not know much about the dynamic."

Wazu’s limping came to a halt in front of the med bay. His right hand held his cane while the left held a tool box. Both were placed on the ground before he opened the med bay bulkhead and locked it on open. He then took off his rank badge and tossed it into the tool box before pulling out a cutting tool and face mask. There was a lot of mass that would need to be removed so the sterilization system could be installed in the door.

He squeezed the handle of the cutting tool, coaxing a small white flame to sprout from the top. The mask then made its way to his head while he knelt in the door frame and got to work.

Wazu was finishing placing tubing in the sides of the bulkhead when Ally gave him a reminder of the time. He nodded and reached for the data pad in his tool box, using it to send a message to Fian to meet him when possible.

Moments later, Fian Vel Steyr appeared in the doorway. From Rico, he figured that the XO wanted to see him but did not really state when or where until the message came as a confirmation. He walked to a few steps behind Wazu and then snapped into a salute loudly to indicate his presence. "You wanted to see me, sir?"

Wazu was holding a can of sealant against the side of the bulkhead door as Fian arrived. "I did not think you would be here so soon." Wazu said, placing the canister down and reaching for his rank bars in the tool box. His uniform top had been discarded in favor of a green tank top, but the bars clipped all the same. "Alright soldier," Wazu said, saluting and allowing Fian to go to at ease. "Your promotion came through. You are now a Soldier Second Class." He reached for his uniform top which had been laid down on the ground in order to produce a rank bar from one of the pockets. He held it out for him to take and added, "I also have two assignments for you."

Fian accepted the rank bars with both hands and a slight nod. "Thank you sir.". Under this modesty his head was going 'Oh yeah, oh yeah' but boot camp teaches you not to shout that out in front of your Executive Officer. He kept the bars in his left hand. "Awaiting Orders."

"I want you to help the sergeant organize and prepare a backup team for the Elysian Op. The delegation going down there is likely going to be lightly armed and armored with no power armors so if shit starts going down they are going to need some calvary to swoop in and pull their collective asses out of the fire." Wazu reached for his cane which was against the side of the wall and pulled it close to help steady himself. "I gave Rico the job of going with the delegation and he will be taking one other marine with him so work with him when you can. When we arrive on Elysia I expect the marines to be suited up and ready to jump at a moments notice. Before then I want you to personally inspect our XF-14 wing and the non-quanta-construct power armors. Make sure they are all operating at their peak."

"Yes sir." Fian said. He paused for a while to think, not that he was given such a command, but there are a few unknown variables that needs to be verified. "I have a few questions, sir."

"Proceed Marine," Wazu said simply.

"Firstly, would we be expecting to come up against Elysian units, or from another third party? Do we have any intelligence on them?" Fian said. Get your hostiles right.

"I am expecting that if something goes down it will be between the Elysians and ourselves." Wazu said, "But there is also the chance that others will come to crash the party. In either case we need to be able to extract our delegation quickly." Wazu paused for a moment before summarizing, "Prepare for Elysian hostiles but be ready for anything."

“Yes sir, I will read up the combat capabilities of the Elysians." Fian said, he was quite uncertain anything concerning Elysians but that has to change in three hours. "Last question, do we limit Elysian casualties?"

"Yes, avoid engaging any Elysians unless absolutely necessary." Wazu said.

"No further questions sir." Fian said. Three hours, time is of the essence.

"Very well. You are dismissed marine." Wazu said, giving a quick salute before detaching his rank pin and returning to the toolbox on the floor.

Fian returned the salute, turned around and marched out the door leaving Wazu to his own devices. As soon as he was away from the medibay, he quickened his steps to a jog. There is a lot of work to do.

Rico continued to wander through the corridors of the Alliance, his mind deep in thought. It wasn’t often he was so serious about a mission…but with his recent promotion and an very important mission ahead of him, Rico decided a little seriousness to the situation would not hurt matters. He pondered about the choices he could make for the extra marine to bring...there were many things to consider. It would be Soreta, a small group of marines, and himself…

‘Fian…’ Rico was honestly impressed with Fian as of late. First the surprise backbone grownth in the simulations, then receiving the promotion with him…he would’ve been Rico’s first choice.

‘…too bad Wazu’s got somethin’ else for him.'

‘Adrian…’ Rico quickly dismissed it as soon as he thought of it. The medic was a good fighter…in power armor at least, but he was really impulsive. Normally Rico would’ve taken that impulsiveness as a pro rather than a con… but the fact that Rico was still very pissed off at him did not help matters. Plus, Rico knew that Adrian’s mouth was almost as big as his own, and this mission would require a lot of shutting up.

‘…NO.’

‘Kokuten…’ Rico thought he was a solid fellow. Not the most talkative guy, but he seemed to know what he was doing. Rico then recalled back to the first simulation when he used his AIR to trip Kokuten…as a joke of course. Rico concluded that if nothing else, Kokuten was good for a laugh.

‘heh heh…maybe next time.’

‘John…’ He seemed like a dependable soldier, but honestly, Rico had not seen enough of him to consider him for the mission, and he didn’t know much about John’s personality at all. Rico swept him into the back of the line…if nobody else seemed worthy, Rico might go with the wild card.

‘Benji…’ The memories of Rico’s drug-induced escapade had already come back to him in full detail. However, he was more or less pushing his last particular meeting with Benji out of his mind, to the point where he decided that it never actually happened. Rico certainly did not want to be reminded of it.

‘…uh…movin’ on…’

‘Istvan…’ Rico figured Istvan to be a solid marine. He was large, looked fairly tough, and was moderately smart. If anything, Rico didn’t want to bring him along, as Istvan might just out-perform him if things got dicey, and Rico wouldn’t have that. Plus, if Rico was going to get anywhere with Soreta, Istvan would need to be far, far away…Rico didn’t exactly agree with his policy on talking to women.

‘…sorry baby, maybe next time.’

And finally, ‘Gran…’ Rico stopped in the hall as he thought about that. Rico had always pinned Gran as a kind of a spineless yes-man. However, he was watching him during the simulation…the guy was smart. He knew how to work those machines, and with whatever Rico lacked in smarts, Gran would compensate. Plus, Gran was quiet… that would make sure that he wouldn’t say anything stupid to the Elysians, AND it would leave plenty of room to work his magic on Soreta. A huge bonus point, as far as Rico was concerned. He smiled as more and more things clicked into place in Rico’s head…he would give the guy a chance.

When he was in an empty corridor, Rico stopped and spoke out. “Hey Ally,” he said in a casual voice, waiting for her voice to reply to him, “where’s Gran? I wanna talk to him.”

Suku looked at Benji with a smile.
"I kind of gathered Adrian was crazy, and Kokuten seems a little loopy, too. I'm Suku. I work in the med bay with both of them." She looked around a bit before realizing her boss had simply hopped out of the room without her knowledge. "damn it... where'd he go?"
She sighed and leaned back, still holding Adrian's large metal bass. Suku started messing with the strings, the deep twangs broadcasted loudly throughout the cafe by the instrument's internal speakers.
"Oh, uh, I don't think I caught you name." She looked at Benji inquiringly.

-------

Adrian walked down the hall towards the medbay, his high mostly gone. That kind of sucked, but the stuff was meant for a short, extreme high, not the longer affair most Nepleslian brands supplied to the smoker.
As Adrian neared the door, he saw Wazu messing with the panel on it, apparently hard at work at installing something into it.
damn it. That fucking Wazu is everywhere. What's he doing now, putting in a sensor to log every time I go in and out? He turned around and started back the way he came, although slightly slower and quieter, hoping the much older man wouldn't notice him.

[OKAY then... I'll toss out the fact Benji's SUPPOSED to be unconcious...]

Benji grumbled something from where he he was laying his head on his arms. The cool metal felt good against the side of his face and his nose still fuckin hurt. He lifted his head once Suku was done talking. He warily looked her over and then blinked slowly. He looked over at Istivan and then cracked his head on teh table before sitting up straighter. With a deep sigh he whiped his hand off onh is shirt and then stuck it out in Suku's direction. "Benjiman Storm, you can call me Benji or Ben for short, which ever you perfer Suku." he gave her a charming smile, almost forgetting his nose. He shook her hand and tehn let it go and paused to take in a breath upon which he remembered his nose was broken and crusted over with blood.

He turned towards Istivan and looked the marine up and down. He looped an arm over Istivan's shoulders and then smiled a broken grin. "It was purely spontaneous and intentional... Been wantin to do that ever since I seen the man..." he paused and then chuckled softly. "It wasn't that serious... Just an attempt to keep him off the greshin...that reminds me..." He let hs arm slid off of Istivan's shoulder. "Medic np?" He asked and then nodded to himself. "Mind fixing up my nose, seeings as Adrian and Kokuten are ignoring me?"

"Oh yes" Istvan said laconicly to Suko "We can't have such a pretty face marred by so much blood."

The large man then snorts "You look like hell." he said to Benji "I would advise you get some rest, so that you will feel better in the morning, da? After your nose is fixed up. Do you often impact your nose against hard cybernetics?" His eyebrow raises in a very spock-like fashion, but he can't help but grin at the joke, ruining the effect somewhat.

Gran managed to reach his bunk without incident. He sat on the edge for a minute before laying on his back, staring at the bunk above him. He wasn't depressed, he just didn't feel the reason to be around other people at the moment. He had felt strange about the whole Rico incident, after all, Rico had been the first one to welcome him on the ship, besides the ship itself. He REALLY didn't want Rico to get kicked off the ship.

He sighed and pulled his pad computer out of his bag and scratched aimlessly on it. The pad slowly scrolled through pictures, most of them comical edits of serious pictures. He continued to stare at the screen and smirked as he went on. No matter how boring this seemed, it was Gran's favorite way to relax. Before long, Ally's voice interrupted him. Naturally, he flattened the computer to his chest.

"Thank you Ally." He smiled and looked up to the ceiling.

Benji was glad his drugs were keeping his hearbeat slow and steady, otherwise he would have hauled off and broke Istivan's nose right that minute. Anyway he chuckled good naturedly and then sighed. "All I did was kiss him, and no normally I don't go running around getting my nose broken by cybernetics..." He let out a snort through his nostrils and then winced.

"Well I can boastfuly say that I've broken plenty of noses myself in bar fights, but human hands are NOTHING compared to hard metal..." he looked from Istivan to Suku and gave them each a smile. "At least I know I've out at least two people I can depend on..." He aptted the side of his boot and tehn looked over at the female medic. "Yeah, just keep your eyes ob most of the marines... I'm sure if they ahd the chance they'd take you to bed..." With a soft, sad smile, he poked his own chest. "Like Istivan here, I've at least got some sense of chivalry, being raised with my sister and all..."

Suddenly, a hand landed on Benji's shoulder and spun him around, putting him face-to-face with Adrian, who quickly examined his nose.

"Nothing too bad, just a bit of busted cartilage, I think..." He used his thumb to prod Benji's nose a bit.

"Yeah, just some broken cartilage. Get this blood cleaned up, and keep the nostrils spread and it should heal up in a couple weeks. It might have a bit of a bend in it when it heals up, nothing too bad."

He finished his impromptu diagnosis on Benji, he turned to Suku.
"Oi, can I have my bass back, O minion?"
Suku sighed and handed him the instrument.
"Thank you."

With that, he turned and headed for the door, calling over his shoulder,
"Hey, Suku, can you come back down to the medbay in the next hour or so, so me and Kokuten can give you an orientation on it? Might be useful, considering you'll be working there."

Benji stared after Adrian and then blinked. He murmured a delayed "oww..." and then looked over at Suku. With a sigh he got to his feet and wavered. he put a hand on the table to steady himself and then offered his free hand to Suku. "May I walk with you down to the med bay? I guess I'll be needing to fetch my own bandage and clean myself up..." He gave her a small smile and waited for her reply.

He slid his other hand off teh table and pulled out his PDA, he did a quick search through it and then sighed and flashed it towards the medic. "Think you can find one for me?" He asked, showing her the picture of the appropriate bandage for his nose.

Suku took his hand and stood. She looked at the PDA for a moment.
"I've been in the medbay all of ten minutes. I have no idea where you might find one in there. When you're done getting rid of all that blood on your face, come down and myself or Adrian will get you one, alright?"
Suku turned and walked off.

"Okay..." He called after her and then stuffed the PDA back in his pocket. He patted Istivan's shoulder and then walked off. he made his way down to the washroom and looking at his blod crusted self in the mirrior he frowned and set to work cleaning himself up. Once he'd cleaned the blood off his face and arms he went to the room and fetched himself his black clothes and changed into them. He stashed his blood covered uniform out of sight and slid on his trench coat. After making sure his service pistol was still in place on his belt he started off.

He arrived a bit later in the med bay, looking some what more presentable and less like he'd had the crap beaten out of him. He paused at the door and then walked in. "Adrian? Suku?" He asked looking around.

(Mini-JP between Moonman, Davis)

As Rico reached the bulkhead doorway into the marine quarters he puffed out his chest slightly, trying to make his new rank bars stand out as much as possible. He entered, and catching sight of Gran sitting on one of the closer bunks, quickly turned and spoke loudly. "Hey baby, look alive! Soldier 2nd Class Rico Sanroma on deck!" He said boisterously with a proud smile.

Gran's mind went on auto pilot and he quickly stood up bolt straight and saluted. A wide smile grew on his face as he spotted the bars on Rico's shoulder. He kept quiet as he kept his stature.

Rico burst out in a short laugh as he watched Gran finish his salute. "Put yer hand down baby, and plant a seat," Rico said, his face becoming slightly more serious as he pointed at the bunk behind Gran. "We got somethin' to talk about."

Gran nodded as his face became serious along with Rico's. Something about that whole hubbub a bit ago? I thought that got handled… He take his seat on his bunk, standing back up for a second to move his computer out from under himself. He looked back to Rico. "okay."

Rico took off his beret as he sat on the bunk opposite of him, and ran a hand through his hair. Honestly, a lot of this serious attitude was exaggerated; it was more of a front to get Gran into a more serious, agreeable mood. Rico looked back up at Gran after moment or two. "Alright, I'll get to the point. The Lieutenant's assigned me and a few other marines as the escort for the Diplomat for this upcomin’ peace shit at Elysia. And he required me to pick another marine I want to assist me."

Rico paused for a moment to read Gran's face as the words set in before continuing. "And I want you to come along."

A tiny smile played across the edge of Gran's lip as Rico's seriousness seemed so out of place. His hands rubbed together at the mention of the diplomacy mission with the Elysians. His eyes widened a little as Rico invited him on the team. Me? Surely there are more capable marines on this ship… He smiled widely. "Really? Out of everyone else?"

"That's right baby, outta everyone else," Rico said with a smirk. "Ya shouldn't sell yourself so short. Everyone was pretty impressed with your little stunt durin' that second sim," Rico reminded him. He leaned back a bit before continuing. "And you got smarts. I think we'll need that when we get on Elysia...you do the thinkin', I'll do the shootin'. Sound like a plan baby?"

Gran couldn't help but smile as he was reminded of the beautiful sound of eight or so armors plinking on the side of the majestic, albeit virtual, NSS Alliance. "Yeah that was pretty awesome." He said with a smirk. I'll have to ask Ally if she still has that recorded. He gave Rico a thumb's up, corny on purpose. "Alright, I'm game."

"Alright baby! That's what I wanted to hear! Gimme a sec," Rico said with a broad grin before swinging his body around until he was on his stomach, leaning slightly to reach for something under his bed. Rico was glad to see that the technician from earlier had already sent the packages...they were all neatly lined up with the rest of Rico's belongings underneath the bed. After a moment of rummaging, Rico produced the rectangular box and quickly returned to his sitting position across from Gran. As he fiddled with the end of the box he spoke again to Gran, not bothering to look up as he opened the end. "You a drinker baby? Just a swig, somethin' to seal the deal, eh?"

He scratched his head slightly. "Well, not really a 'drinker' per-say, but I sure wouldn't mind some right about now." He grinned widely, wondering what sort of death-dealing, brain-melting liquor Rico had managed to stash under his bed. His eyes scanned along the plain box, looking for some sort of label or marking, even if he didn't drink like a mad-man, he had still been around plenty of people who did.

The box had no visible markings, and neither did the bottle Rico pulled out. The bottle itself was perhaps about a foot long, with green tinted glass. Rico quickly set the empty box aside, opened the end of the bottle and took a quick drink. As he brought the bottle back down he let out a great heave of air, squinting his eyes hard, always smiling. He laughed shortly before offering the bottle to Gran. "Heh, no worries baby. You'll love it...puts hair on yer chest, then burns it right back off."

Gran took a swig as large as Rico. He quickly pulled the bottle away from his mouth, managing to swallow what was in his mouth. He coughed slightly, not being use to the heavy alcohol. He was sure his throat was peeling off in layers, the way it seemed to scream, almost audibly, at him. His voice was tight and strained, but he was smiling happily. "Geez...*cough*...what is this?"

Rico smiled widely as he retrieved the bottle from Gran's grasp. "Industrial cleanin' alcohol...but not the normal stuff you can find in a damn cupboard. I had some of my boys mix this one especially for me," he explained as he replaced the cap on the bottle, quickly repackaged it and returned it to its place under his bunk. "Normal stuff tastes like shit, but does the trick...but THIS stuff’s got it all. You can't tell me that didn't taste anythin' short of incredible," Rico continued, heavily amused as he continued watching Gran's reaction to the drink.

He nodded as a small tear came to his eye, his throat cursing him. He covered his mouth slightly as he coughed a few more times, his voice returning to normal. "That was really good, I might have to become an alcoholic now." He smiled at Rico and chuckled slightly, coughing one more time. "So what'd you put in it?"

Rico chuckled as he stood up and replaced his beret. "Now THAT is somethin' I can't tell ya," he said as he composed himself. "...I'll make ya a deal though. Once we get this mission done, I'll treat ya to another few drinks from it. Then we'll see if you can find out that special ingredient. Sound like a plan baby?"

"Can't argue with that." Gran stood up with a smile and stuck out his hand towards Rico. He hoped with all his might that this mission would go well, even more so now. He didn't want to be the one responsible for bringing war, besides, he really wanted some more of Rico's drink. Then he turned his face to the ground slightly. "Rico? Can I ask one real quick question?"

Rico grabbed Gran's hand in a firm shake. "Shoot."

He looked back up to Rico and paused a bit. "You would never actually hurt a woman like earlier, right?"

"...oh," Rico's smile dropped a bit, and he released Gran's hand. Rico crossed his arms casually, taking a few moments to read into the question. "...no, I wouldn't. Not my style baby. I do love the ladies...but I got my pride, and I got my own set of rules. And I follow 'em."

"I know, I just wanted to hear it from you." Gran smiled. "Hope I didn't step on your toes there." He patted Rico on the shoulder. "Now don't you go all 'gloomy Gus' on me, we still got time before we launch."

Rico brought back his smile once more. "Well, whatever works baby. Now, if you'll excuse me, I still need to go strut my new rank around a bit more," Rico joked with a laugh, and without another word, quickly dodged back out into the corridor.

Gran smiled and waved as Rico jetted off, his voice almost silent. "You deserve it." He closed down his computer and stuffed it in the bottom of his bag. He stretched a little from his slight bed-stay, and decided to take a slow walk back towards the mess hall.

Kokuten, still a little daze from the grass he had smoked earlier, looked up at Benji who had just arrived in the Medbay. His cybernetic eyes fluttered a little bit of static as his nerves caught back on. He heard Benji call for Adrian or Suku.

"Hey man..." Kokuten said, a little dazed. He walked up to the dark looking marine.

"Ah the nose." The Cyborg said shortly again. He walked over to the table and pulled out a bandage, and a nose cup. Then he walked back over to Benji.

"Okay, when I put this on... uh, keep it on until we get to Elysia, or the MO says otherwise. The cup will keep your nose from... uh... gettin' hurt... or something." stated Kokuten, "Now... This is uhm... gunna hurt."

CRICK...

Went Benji's nose as Kokuten cracked it back into place.

Fian sat on a metal crate in one corner of the hangar bay alone with a Datapad in one hand an a glass of cold water he stole from the Canteen in the other. He had to formulate a basic plan first before calling the other marines. Elsae had downloaded the latest intel on the Elysians from the military net... And it was not much, most of their military and tech is newly created and hardly saw action, denying the other fractions a chance to gauge their might. However, the report also suggested that the soldiers are well trained and rumor has it that one of their suits are specifically anti-Nepleslian. The Vel Steyr frowned.

But, some new toys have just arrived as well. The specs on the XF-14s made the Vel Steyr whistle a bit. Given a choice he would have flown an aircraft instead of a Power Armor but Nepleslians cant be picky. The superior Nerimian technology could put some fear into the Angels, however the Vel Steyr prefered if there were Nepleslian technology on display: It should be shown to the Elysians who they are dealing with. But if the spit hits the fan, Fian will make sure the extremely fast XF-14s are on site first. He was dissapointed that the XF-14s were drone-based and could not take human passengers, it screwed up his earlier plan.

A few NAM employees came earlier with cratefulls of new gear. Most notably the latest FIRE1 armor. It addresed many holes that the earlier AIR2s and WATER2s could not fill and on top of that, it is so new that half the SAoN probably doesnt know that it exists (and hopefully ALL the Elysians). Being a pessimist when it comes to planning, Fian will need to analyze the armor completely for any possible weaknesses and shortcomings. Perhaps he could ask the NAM employees (a male geshrin and a female nepleslian) that delivered it later for a run down, the woman seems to be arguing with the head engineer.

Fian tapped the datapad a few times with the stylus. If push really comes to shove, the only people the Elysians would be interested in killing would be the diplomatic envoy. It would be kind of hard to provide instantaneous protection when you and your ward is seperated by miles of atmosphere. The XO had told him to minimize Elysian damage but it would be rather impossible in the first few minutes of the conflict. A large security perimeter has to be established to protect the evacuation shuttle's LZ. As an armor contigent begin their decent, the zippier XF-14s can lay waste to say, an area one to half a kilometer radius around the envoy. Immedietly after that the Power Armors would land to secure the perimeter and clear a landing zone.

The whole process above would take about two minutes. Unfortunately it take less than a second to murder the diplomatic team. Assuming they are still alive, the shuttle will begin its decent together with another armor contigent. This group of marines will stay in the air to provide aerial cover and air to ground attacks. From here on the Nepleslian forces can switch over to EMP, suppresing fire and constant artillery barrages to keep the Elysians down without overwhelming casualties. It would be much more effective than going all out to kill, we dont know their military capabilities and an order is an order.

What kind of shuttle is it anyway?! He has not seen one anywhere near the DD4 and the ship manifest does not list one either. Whatever that thing is, Fian doesnt trust it to carry Rico and Soreta out alive. He just feels that its just not going to survive since a shuttle would obviously be the Elysian's pirmary target. Fian is going to ask some of the engineers to load it up with some NAM Power Armors (cant bring the Nerimian assemblers on board) just incase. He trusts that the two (or more) of them know how to pilot these things to escape in the event that the shuttle is facing destruction.

The first marine group will stay planetside while the second airborne group will follow the shuttle's ascent to space. A third held back group, in classic Vel Steyr style will drop from space to the atmosphere. Firstly to cover the retreat of the shuttle and the second group, and then the escape of the first group into space. If something unexpected happens anytime in the plan, Fian would need to count on the availability of the third group to complement any contingency plan.

Then the Alliance will pick them all up and we get the fuck out. And there! All done! Fian tapped the Datapad to send his proposed plan to all the marines involved, the XO and the Captain along with an additional message:"Please also indicate your armor preferences so I may assign you to your groups." The Vel Steyr set the datapad aside and downed the glass in one breath. Now he'll have to inspect the Armors and figthers before the mission. Getting off the box, he walked over to the NAM pair for some assistance in this (But not before giving the woman a good look). They made the suits after all.

Benji watched Kokuten walked up and talk to him and such. It probably wasn't untill after Koku put his nose back into place that he flinched with a "gah..." But the medic had warned him it'd hurt. He stood still however and allowed Koku to put on the mose cup and bandage before finally pulling back and gently nursing his nose.

"Thanks Kokuten..." He said and then gave an experimental sniff of the air. "You really need to stop smoking..." Was all Benji said before he patted the marine's arm and then walked off. He returned to the room to see Adrian and Gran. with a wave to them he walked over to his bunk, lay down and kicked his boots off. Benji rolled over on his stomach and, careful not to hurt his nose, he fell asleep.

Fian had to strip off the last name on his nametag so that they would not look at him funny. The tall Nepleslian woman was initially hostile at first, but as soon as he expressed an intrest in the NAM Armors she immedietly ligthened up. The timid looking geshrin was harder. He looked at Fian for the longest time before he accepted the Vel Steyr's handshake. Katya (The lady) spoke excitedly about the handling and use of the Power Armors while Eri (The male geshrin) simply mentioned statistics or otherwise kept quiet.

After he had inspected the machinery and expressed his satisfaction, the NAM pair had to leave. As they left, Eri informed Fian that the armors can still be customized and tuned for higher performances. Thanking the both of them, Fian saw them off.

"Was what that Geshrin said true, Elsae?" Fian said under his breath.

"Yes, during the previous flight I had detected numerous safety locks, underclocking and precaution limiters." Elsae whispered. "It is possible to customize and tune the NAM Power Armors but it is discouraged unless further experience has been aquired."

"What happened during the previous flight?" Fian said, flashing a look at the battered AIR2 no.2455.

"It was beyond the unauthorized pilot's ability to handle the control systems of the AIR2." Elsae informed, she paused for a while as though in tought. "I had to intervene to prevent the loss of life... I had to reveal my presence. I apologise for disobeying your parameters."

"Better than to lose you in the crash, Elsae." Fian said, with a smile on his face. "Everyone has a right to live, not matter what they are told. Understand?"

"Yes, master."

The Vel Steyr exited the Power Armor bays and looked around. He had finished what needed to be done and surprisingly he still had much time left, probably because he did not have to sit through the Elysian ettique tutorial. A few messages came through the Datapad from some of the marines indicating their Power Armor selections. One familliar name was not on the list, however.

Rico...

Fian had something urgent to tell him in person. The P2C made his way down the corridor. Hoping that this meeting with his best friend would not be their last.

Ally’s voice soothingly chimed in over the PA system, telling the crew that, “The NSS Alliance will leave port in ten minutes. Please make final departure arrangements.” The station crews on the exterior of the ship were quick to act, finishing up their final checks on loaded materials before locking up the exterior hatches on the cargo bay.

Even as the station crew left, a handful of marines were boarding through the airlock tube after being cleared by the station. A few were marines taking a walk around the station while the rest were the last of the replacements.

Wazu mentally cursed himself for not finishing earlier. He sealed the last chemical transfer tube with a heat activated sealant compound and torch before tossing the tool into his toolbox. He half leaned, half sat against the wall adjacent to the medbay, “Ally, please test out the sterilization system on the med bay door.”

The open bulkhead to the med bay sprayed itself down with a sterilizing agent, leaving an oddly clean smell behind as the spray was sucked down into the floor vents under the bulkhead. Wazu nodded pushed himself up to standing with the help of his cane. He pulled his uniform jacket on over the green tank top he had on and buttoned it up before attaching the rank pin.

Rico looked up slightly at nothing in particular as he listened to Ally make her announcement. He cursed silently to himself, recalling that Wazu had wanted the name of the marine he had chosen preferably before leaving the dock. Quickly checking how he looked on a nearby reflective surface, Rico turned back and spoke. "Ally, where is Lieutenant Wazu right now?"

“Wazu is currently in the hallway outside of the med bay.” Ally responded. “I can ask him to wait there for you, if you would like.”

Kokuten, now feeling perfectly fine now, heard Ally's announcement as well. He nodded, thinking it was about time the ship actually started to move. He felt like he had been in a floating hotel for awhile. The Medic also observed the sterilization process of the Med Bay door. "Impressive, good way to keep this place clean." The cyborg said to no one in particular.

"That'd be great, thanks baby," Rico smiled as he replied. Luckily, the medical bay was just around the corner. A few moments later he stepped lightly in front of the Lieutenant, giving a quick salute before speaking to him. "Lieutenant, I've made my choice on the marine accompanying me."

Wazu was just finishing attaching his rank pin. An image of ally was beside him, and gave Rico a smile before disappearing, “Very well soldier.” Wazu said, returning the salute, “Who have you chosen?

"Soldier 3rd Class Gran Keats, sir." Rico spoke with assurance in his voice.

“Alright, I will have Ally inform you when we have the delegation group briefing. We will need to go over rules of engagement, load out, and contingency plans. In the mean time you free to go relax.” Wazu said.

After a little while of looking around for some place quiet, Adrian found himself in one of the numerous storage areas a little ways from the medbay. He hopped up on one of numerous crates and settled his bass on his right leg. He played a long, reggae-style riff, tapping his foot to get the rythym right. "Mucho gusto me llamo es Bradley..." He sang lightly for a while. When Ally's voice came over the PA, he shook his head, not really caring, and kept on playing.

"Yes sir, thank you sir." Rico replied as he relaxed a bit. As he gave a another quick salute, however he glanced at his arm as he did so...the cybernetics of his hand still clearly visible. After being dismissed, Rico walked gingerly through the newly-added spray. He looked around and spotted Kokuten, flashing him a grin. "Hey hey baby...you busy?"

Kokuten's uncovered cybernetic eyes glanced at Rico. "Er, No sir, I am not." The Medic gave a short salute.

Rico smirked slightly as Kokuten saluted...this was something he could get used to very, very quickly. "Well then, think you can gimme a hand here with this?" Rico slowly pulled his green jacket over his head and held out his right arm. "I need some new skin on it."

Ally's voice once again chimed in over the PA system, "Five minutes until departure."

Ally's voice distracted Kokuten for a moment, he then nodded, as if making a memo for himself and continued to the counter. "Okay, we've got a few hues of skin color." The Medic pulled out 4 different colored Syntheto-Skin Sprayers. "Which one?" Asked Koktuen.

Rico sat down on the top of one of the center tables, pointing a metal finger the pigment closest to his own skin. "I think that one'll do baby."

Kokuten picked up the one Rico selected and walked over to Rico. "Now, don't worry if doesn't look exactly like your skin color, Syntheto-Skin adjusts to the pigment color of the skin the metal arm is attached too. As soon as a piece of Syntheto-Skin touches real skin, the real pigment spread to any other Syntheto-Skin attached to it." Kokuten grined, beginning to spray from the fingers up.

Rico smirked as he watched Kokuten apply the synthetics. He didn't particularly care for the speech on the processes of the spray...although whatever passed the time was fine by him.

Kokuten looked up at Rico for a moment, then back down as he worked up past the forearm and to the shoulder. "If you don't mind me asking, why do you use this stuff?" Kokuten asked, letting one of his eyes look up in Rico's direction and one down to the arm.

"Easy," Rico replied, keeping his eyes on Kokuten's progress. "...after several experiences, I found that havin' cybernetics covered in synthetic flesh makes 'em more appealing to the ladies." Rico replied in an exaggerated know-it-all voice, followed by a chuckle.

Kokuten chuckled at Rico's response, "Ah, I can never really get used to the stuff, I've had these things uncovered since I was born." Kokuten said, finally reaching the shoulder. Rico's skin color then slowly began to creep down his arm, replacing the default color of the spray.

"Hah! I seem to only attract the pretty little bookworms." Kokuten grined, touching up parts of Rico's arm.

"Bah, I'm more skilled with a scapel and syrete guns than women." Kokuten scratched his beard.

"That's because you're not really trying kid." Jet said, leaning on the doorway to the medbay for the moment and chuckled, shifting the stick of chocolate pocky in his lips boredly as he looked over. "How about you Rico, you feeling up to escorting Soreta to her meeting without dropkicking her out an airlock?" He joked.

"Naaah. You guys sure were stuck up about her," Rico said as he flexed and turned his arm to admire Kokutens' handiwork. "I think she's just fine. Got a sharp tongue maybe. But then again, I'll bet you and the rest of the guys aren't used to a woman that talk back." Rico replied with a sly grin.

Kokuten flipped the spray gun like an actual handgun and placed in the drawer like with the rest of the Syntheto-Skin sprayers. "You've got to admit though, she's pretty brave." said Kokuten, walking back over to the two Marines.

Jet just shrugged passively and stretched his back, the red coat swishing around his body as he did and smirked. "I'm more than used to it." he said as he took a loud step toward them, the hard sole of his boot ringing on the metal floor. "I've met women with sharper tongues than hers, it is that feeling you get from her." he said. "that feeling like she's constantly looking down on you despite what you say or do that gets to me." Jet shrugged again. "then why don't you go tell her."

Rico followed Jet's lead and shrugged himself, quickly replacing his pull-over jacket and straightening the rank bars. He walked over to the bulkhead before turning back to Kokuten. "Well, thanks baby. Take my advice though, if ya want more than the bookworms look into some of that skin yourself, eh baby?" With that, Rico disappeared into the corridor.

Jet watched him go and 'tch'ed' as he did. That promotion seemed to go right to rico's head and he wouldn't do him any good go walk around with that kind of swagger that might get him killed. "Whatever, he's going to get his asshanded to him one day." he said and turned to Kokuten. "If you want security, stick with the bookworms. If you want thrills, I dare you to try and get an elysian woman.” Jet smirked a bit.

Kokuten shook his head, "I wouldn't do that to the poor Elysian Girls." Kokuten frowned. "My Cyborg implants make stronger than I usually think I am. I might break one of their hollow Elysian Bones."

"Then try one of the nekos." Jet smirked slyly.

"They might be illegal but I'm pretty sure you can you find a few underground ways to get one."

"They might break one of my bones." Kokuten chuckled.

"Perhaps but that's the fun in it isn't it?" The white-haired sub-lieutenant chuckled. "Without dangers, there's no real thrill to the hunt is there?"

Kokuten waved a metal hand, and shook his head. "I'll just stick with bookworms." Kokuten said, trying to remember how much the girls found him interesting due to how well installed and made his implants were.

"And I've been wondering..." Jet mused. "Am I and the captain the only ones on board without implants of some kind?"

With that he just laughed a bit and turned to head out. "We need to get anyone who's going to the surface checked out health wise before they go, just ot be careful. Who knows what kind of nasty shit is out there." Jet added.

"Er, yes, I should probably check with Ally and see which Marines need a check-up on their health." Kokuten realized that, that was actually a pretty good idea.

“Attention, there are thirty seconds remaining before the Alliance leaves port.” Ally said over the PA system as the station crew started closing off the last of the airlocks while Captain Miller used Ally to run a final check on all systems.

Ally also took it upon herself to generate a list of Marines that had not had physicals in the past few months. She displayed that list on the medical bay’s screen before Kokuten could ask her to do so.

"Thank you, mam." Kokuten looked over the list. "Could you notify these Marines to come the Med Bay. Also, would it be too much to tell Suku and Adrian to come down here as well?" Asked the at-first, startled Marine, he had not gotten used to her sudden presence.

Jet chuckled at the sudden presence. "Thank you Ally." he said

"Of course Kokuten," Ally said soothingly as her form appeared in front of Adrian and Suku, "Your presence is requested in the med bay," She said with a smile as the ship lurched slightly. They were now free of the port and the Captain's voice came on over the PA, telling the marines that they better fucking be on their best behavior.

Jet chuckled at the Captain's order. "I'm glad I'm not on that list, I have medical exams." He chuckled, brushing a hand through his hair.

Kokuten arched a brow over his cybernetic eye. "It might be best to at least have a current update of your bodily health." The Cyborg said, scratching his beard.

Adrian walked through the med bay door and threw his bass unto one of the bunks adorning the walls. "Hey guys. What ya need?"

Jet held up a needle and smirked at Adrian. "Guess what time it is." he joked with an evil grin but put it down. "Just kidding, you need to get a medical exam before your mission." he said.

John clicked on a light in the small, cramped supply closet and pulled a girly magazine out of a cleverly concealed pocket in his jacket, and began admiring the scenery on the pages, and trying to take his mind off his fear of needles and the horrible smell of hospitals and medicals facilities in general.

Suku gave Adrian a look after having to deal with his odd behavior a while ago. She then looked at the higher ranking officer telling them they needed an exam. "What? I thought the physical I got before coming on the ship was enough." She smirked.

"It was, but I need your help to exam all the other Marines on this ship." Kokuten answered. "It would be best have their Medical Histories updated before we arrive to Elysia."

Adrian sighed. "Didn't I have a physical like 2 weeks ago? Let's take care of the others, first. Lesse.... we need the ground team first. Ally, could you page Rico and Soreta?"

"Rico was just in here." Jet said to Adrian. "He just left and is preparing himself, we'll get to him last."

"Alright. Actually..." He turned to Kokuten. "Oi, you think Rico checks out for active duty?" Adrian didn't want to have to deal with Rico at the moment, even on his own turf.

"I updated his Medical Records from the incident that took place earlier today." Kokuten replied.

Suku smiled, she was glad she was actually seeing the two Medics actually being Professional. Maybe they aren’t as horrible as I thought.

Jet smirked looking at everyone that had shown up, as he leaned back on a wall. "Hello Ms Suku," he said with a nod.

"Fair enough. You can call him in later if you feel the need, but I'd rather not be present, if possible. And we still need Soreta down here." Adrian leaned against one of the examination tables. "So Jet, you going planet side if it hits the fan?"

"I suppose I have to if it gets too bad, I'm going to monitor you guys from up here just iin case." Jet said.

"it is Ms. Matsobuki." Suku have Jet a smirk, she decided to leave the rest off...

He nodded to her for his mistake. "My apologies then Ms Matsobuki." Jet said.

As John was browsing through the pages of his magazine of choice, his mind began to wonder yet again. He had almost wished they had stayed at port, he only seeming joy was looking forward to combat. That didn’t seem very likely due the mission’s diplomatic status however. But if there was combat, it wouldn’t be good thing….

Ally started making her rounds on the crew. She asked people on the list to show up in the med bay, starting with Soreta.

Kokuten walked over to Adrian, and leaned in to whisper. "Who get's Soreta?"

"I'll take her. It'll take a for ever, if she pulls that snobby bullshit she usually does. You take the masses. I have a score to settle anyway."

"She won't pull it on you if you treat her with respect." Jet said with a sigh. He was tired of the attitude and figured maybe diplomacy might be the best way to at least avoid butting heads with Soreta again. It just caused him headaches that he didn't want to put up with.

Istvan stands up from the mess hall, walking into the hallways... He was just wandering aimlessly, and bored...

"If that's your case, then maybe I should just deal with her..." Kokuten said, frowning at his MO.

Adrian cocked an eyebrow at Jet. "Hey, the first time I spoke to her, I did. And she treated me like shit. I'm far too petty to simply forget it that quickly." He looked at Kokuten, "Oi, you got a cigar, mate?"

Suku gave Adrian a hard glare from the corner of her eye. "What the hell are you thinking? Smoking in a medical bay!?" She fumed.

"shut up you idiot." Jet said. "it is plain common sense, if she treats you like shit it is because you probably provoked her to." he said, and nodded. "This is a sanitary environment boy, you don’t smoke in here period."

Adrian narrowed his eyes and glared at Jet, "Endurain, I seem to remember you being just as, if not more against her than me. And since when is a simple 'hello' provocation?"

Jet chuckled. "Well I can get away with it."

Adrian snorted at Jet and set his mind to ignore him. "Suku, apparently our friend doesn't feel like coming. Could you go get her please? Ally can direct you."

"Yes sir." Suku nodded.

Adrian smiled at the Geshrin. "Thank you."

Fian paused his wanderings to look outside a nearby porthole. The blue of Nepleslia was fast disappearing on the edge of the screen. Touching the glass gently for a moment, the Vel Steyr sighed and went back on his way.

Soreta barely heard Ally when she appeared to her to inform her of her physical. After a few moments, she stood up from her trance and walked out of the room, slowly heading toward the med bay.

"Well I'm going to drag out the examination equipment, Suku, could you help." Kokuten looked at Suku as she nodded to him. The began to pull out scanners, and a few datapads.

Jet sighed and stepped out of the med bay to let the medics have their room to work and leaned against the wall outside before he'd head back to his office.

The blue-haired Geshrin passed by the officer as she entered the medbay. "I'm here for my physical," she announced.

Oh Boy. "Soreta, over here please. This should be quick and painless. I just need to ask some questions and do some regular examination. If you could take a seat on one of the bunks..."

Soreta did as she was asked. "Medical examinations are never quick and rarely painless."

"Maybe not quick, but we try not to be so painful." Adrian grabbed a data pad from a nearby table and stood in front of Soreta. "Okay, first, have you broken any bones or suffered any major injuries within the last two years?"

"A few broken bones in Funky City, but that's par for the course," replied Soreta.

Adrian smiled a bit, still looking at the datapad. "I believe so. Anything like your arm or leg or anything that may hinder your field performance?"

The diplomat was blunt. "No."

"Alright, good. Do you have any outdoor allergies? Elysia I think has a little more in the way of vegetation than Nepleslia."

"Geshrin don't get allergies." She would’ve thought a medic would know that.

Suku nodded to Soreta's comment, "That's correct."

Adrian merely grumbled.

---

John let out a tired sigh and tucked his magazine back in his jacket, laying his head back against the cold wall of the supply closet, clicking off the light and closing his eyes. I have a feeling it’s going to be a long trip.

Istvan's wanderings took him to the medical room. He needed a exam anyways. It had been a long time since his last one, and there were orders.... He knocked at the door to see if it was occupied

Istvan grumbled, then began pounding on what he believed was the door, to see if there was anyone inside at all. Unfortunately, it was not a door he was pounding…it was the corridor wall. And he pounded a bit too hard, which he quickly realized as he felt something snap in his left hand. "dude!" Istvan blinked in slight disbelief. Something was wrong with the med-bay door, and his head hurt. It took him a while to figure it out. He was pounding on an airlock. Shit! The pills must have worn off.... He starts trying to get to Med-bay, but his burning head, flaming hand, and general inability to think well when he was coming down from a high had him quickly running through the halls at random.

Adrian heard the scream and didn't even look up. "Suku, please take some tranquilizers and subdue P3C Istvan."

Suku growled, but grabbed a needle and ran out the door after the crazed Nepleslian man.

Istvan was moving fairly fast, but he wasn't ducking or swerving much. He was just running through the halls screaming. He had forgotten why, but his hand and head HURT!

Suku made a mad dive on to the crazed Nepleslians ankle, and she attempted to put a death grip on it.

Istvan kept running, barely noticing the little Genshrin grabbing to his ankle, his mass and, at this point, his lack of focus, let his drag the poor Genshrin along.

The thin Geshrin beat up and down on the ground as the train that was the drugged Nepleslian quickly moved. I'm going to drug this bastard until he goes into a coma! The Geshrin flailed her arm to Istvan's leg and the sent the needle in his calf.

It was unfortunate that Istvan weighed so much... He kept dragging the poor Genshin for a fair distance before the meds finally took effect, with him slowing down gradually, and then falling over almost comically.

"damn it!" Suku flustered as she stumbled to stand, her knees burned with the friction from the ground.

---

"Alright Soreta. If you could lift you shirt, I need to take your heart rate and check your breathing." Adrian pulled a small metal object trailed with wires from the datapad.

"You can do that perfectly well with me fully clothed; even Nepleslian medical equipment isn't that primitive." Then, Soreta cruelly smiled. "Or do you simply want to see a woman naked for once in your life?"

YOU FUCKING HEAR THAT, JET? I FUCKING TOLD YOU SHE WAS AN EVIL BITCH! Adrian closed his eyes and gritted his teeth. He knew the evil would break out. "Whatever, screw it. You're clear enough. Just don't blame me when your heart seizes up in the middle of something important." Adrian turned and threw the data pad onto one of the medical beds. "Kokuten, handle the rest of the patients. I need something to drink."

"Yessir." Kokuten made a light salute to Adrian. He then turned to Soreta and gave a bow, "Have a good day."

Soreta grinned as she left the medbay, shaking her head. I'm surprised he has that quality...he doesn't make a good medic, to be sure.

Adrian walked down the hall, passing the unconscious Nepleslian and panting, battered Geshrin. He raised an eyebrow. "Suku..." He closed his mouth, shook his head and walked away towards the lounge.

---

Istvan was still conscious, barely, his mass too much for the dosage supplied. "What.... happened?" he mutters "Pills... need my pills... need Big-K."

The Geshrin was already dragging the Nepleslian back to the Med Bay. "You need to be sterilized, that's what you need." Grunted Matsobuki.

Istvan seemed somewhat distant, not at all like he was in the mess hall "hmmm? I already got birth control implants. I don't need to be sterilized..." His voice was heavily tinged with a Russian accent now, though not enough to prevent understanding.

Suku panted as she dragged the heavy Marine back in to the Med Bay. "Here... you... go..." She panted.

Istvan groaned, his head pounding out a steady tempo, unable to understand why everything was sideways "This is... med bay. Do you have big K? I need big K..."

"God damn, Suku, go relax on one of the beds, I'll take care of the Marine." Kokuten said, seeing Suku nod and walk over to one of the beds. He picked up Istvan under the arm and dragged him onto one of the other beds. "You don't need Big K, you've Super Silo'd, I warned you of that when I first met you!" exclaimed the Medic.

Istvan moaned "I don't know what you mean. I'm only addicted. Nothing wrong with being addicted... My hand hurts..." His hand was bleeding sluggishly; he may have shattered a couple of the bones in it.

"Super Silo is when you take too much of a stimulant, eventually your body will think it can handle loads more than what the stim can do. Soon, you won't be able to hold yourself up." Kokuten said, placing the marine on the bed. "damn it man, you're fucked up." The Medic ran over to the cabinet and pulled out a bandage, a cast, and a cloth. "Okay, let's work with this arm," grunted the Medic, grasping the arm with the broken hand.

Istvan blinked, staring detachedly at his hand "I can't think strait. I need big K. I haven’t been off of it since I joined up... makes everything more clear.... I was pounding on an airlock door. And now I'm here...."

"Shush." Kokuten washed off the blood and applied the cast. "Big K is a nasty drug, man. It isn't distributed any more, the shit you've been taking is the cheap, ineffective kind, sold on unofficial markets." The Medic then rapped the bandages around the Marines hand. "You're staying in here until we clear that shit out of your system."

Istvan scowled, "No. I'm worse without it. I'm like how I was before. I need it..." his thoughts are looping, and he seems confused as he speaks. He is having a great deal of trouble pronouncing every word, and is speaking slowly to make sure they get our right

"That's the addiction speaking, man." Kokuten began to strap down Istvan. "Can't you see? Your body is telling you, that you need it. We're going to fix that." Kokuten grunted, strapping the Marine down.

Adrian found himself back in the same storage are as earlier, only this time with a datapad and glass of absinthe as opposed to a bass. He tapped through several screens, looking at the Marine and crew medical records. He took a large sip of absinthe and searched for Soreta's file. He clicked his tongue when it didn't show. He dropped the pad at his side and drank some more of the strong drink. damn it, even when I'm trying to help, shit just goes wrong. The man gulped down the rest of his drink and stood. Adrian quickly made his way back to the medbay. "Ah. Kokuten. What's up with Isty?

Istvan moaned, distressed. "No... I need it. Really do. You don't know what I was like. I don't want to go back to that," he sounded distressed, very distressed.

"He's jacked up, and now he's strapped down." Kokuten said, tightening the straps enough for Istvan to be able to twist his wrists.

"Ah. Stimulant overdose? What was he using?" Adrian walked around in front of the man, looking down at Istvan with a mixture of concern, amusement, and pity. The big man made some blubbering noises. It was hard to recognize, but in the end it was obvious. Istvan was crying. "I need my big K.... I need it... please!"

"K-12's, the cheap kind too." Kokuten said, looking down at the Marine. "We might need to keep him on sedatives to keep him from going whacko, right sir?"

"Oh hell yeah. I'd suggest enough to keep him under for at least two hours. I'll be writing a recommendation to the Wazu and the captain to keep him off active duty." Adrian walked to one of the drawers and pulled out a long syringe. He then grabbed a small bottle of clear fluid and filled the syringe with it.

"Sorry Yuttreburg, but you're not seeing the some K-12's or the surface of Elysia, any time soon." He looked down at the strapped down Marine.

Istvan stared. "No... my stuff was good! Swear! I know how to get it pure!"

"Kokuten, please hold him still while I inject him. These are weak, so he doesn't die from the ones Suku put in him." Adrian stood over Istvan and squirted a slight amount of the sedative, evening the dose.

The Medic put his metal arms on Istvan, and put his arms in a lock.

Adrian reached down and pushed the needle into Istvan's jugular. "Istvan, if you move now, your jugular will tear, your blood will spray everywhere, and you'll probably die before we can save you." Adrian then began pushing the sedative into Istvan's veins.

Istvan doesn't struggle. Just speaks, slightly laconically. "I'm telling you. My pills were not bad! In the locker. Under the gun-mags!"

"We'll figure out when we check, night Yuttreburg." Kokuten held him down.

It took the big man surprisingly long to loose consciousness. He started to sing "...daisy daisy..." as he faded, the words eventually turning into mumbles, then silence

Adrian finished pumping the sedative and pulled out the needle. He dumped the empty syringe in a bio-hazard box. He walked over to Suku, who had fallen asleep out of exhaustion, and gently shook her awake. "Hey, go to P3C's foot locker, and find his pill container. I want to get a good look at them."

Suku nodded her head lightly as she walked off to search the P3C's footlocker.

(Mini-JP between Fian, Moonman)

"Hey!" Fian Vel Steyr shouted as he saw Rico Sanroma's back as they both wandered the corridors. There was something he needed to tell him before the Elysian mission. He paced up to a jog to catch up with the cyborg.

Rico had not left the medical bay for ten or so minutes before he ran into another familiar face. He turned and gave Fian a nod as he moved closer to meet him, taking notice to the new rank bars attached to Fian’s jacket. “Hey baby, I see Wazu got you your new bars…likin’ ‘em as much as I am?”

Fian remained looking to the side. "Um, yeah. Much befitting the role we both would be playing in the next mission." he move his head a little but still not looking at his friend. "But... I am just afraid."

Rico smiled casually, trying not to show much concern. "Heh, don't be so shook up baby. Hell, you're the one stickin' in the ship while I watch Soreta. I trust ya to be ready if somethin' happens."

Fian looked at Rico this time but with his head partially lowered, looking the man with the top edges of his vision and clenched fists. "I am! But I just cant, cant." He was turning red now, "Cant, cant make it in time... Too long, not fast enough... They would have.." Finally, he looked at Rico dead center in the eye, his own was starting to tear up. "They would have killed you before then!"

Rico stood silent for a few moments as he listened to Fian’s outburst. A lot of things raced through his mind…this became apparent to Fian as Rico’s smile slowly faded away into a serious expression of concern. Rico opened his mouth as if to speak, holding on for a second until he was sure there were no other marines in the hall. After he found none, Rico finally replied. “…shit, you think I don’t know that? I’d be stupid if I didn’t,” he said in a low voice, taking his beret off and stroking a hand gently through his hair. He leaned and put his back against the side of the corridor before continuing.

“If shit starts happenin’ down there, chances are I’m not goin’ to make it through. I know it, you know it, the entire damn ship knows it. And so do the other marines that’ll be goin’ with me…nobody says anythin’, but everyone can see it,” Rico crossed his arms as he continued speaking, although he never looked directly at Fian…his eyes trailed off, as if he was staring at the corridor wall next to him. He let out a quiet sigh before speaking again, “…they know how bad we got it. That’s why I gotta do this, why I chose to do it, to keep them lookin’ up. If we look shaky to those Elysian jack-offs, they’ll take it as a weakness or some bullshit like that, and that’s not Nepleslia. I figure as long as I’m down there with ‘em, they might forget how fuckin’ dismal this looks.”

Fian stopped sobbing. He wiped away his tears with one unfolded sleeve but more can be seen leaking out of his brown eyes. Walking up to Rico, he grabbed his compatriot's arm with one hand and forced him to look at him. "Thirty seconds, thirty seconds." He said, trying to keep a straight face. "Thirty seconds, I swear I'll be the first on the ground."

Now it was Rico's turn to feel uncomfortable. He honestly didn't like seeing people cry. Rico returned to his grin, albeit this one was a lot weaker than the last. "Shit baby, you take your time. I don't want you and your boys takin' all my glory again before I have a chance," Rico said as he clasped a hand onto Fian's shoulder, shaking him lightly as if he hoped to shake the doubt from his friend’s body. "You just watch your ass while you watch mine, eh baby?"

Fian shook his head to clear it and wiped the remaining tears from his eyes. It was quite odd to suddenly see Rico being so serious that brought to his attention his own uncontrolled emotions. Regaining his composure, he faced Rico. "It is a promise." he simply said, not really indicating if it was in relation to the thirty second thing or Rico's take your time statement. Looking away, he walked right past Rico to locations unknown.

As Rico watched Fian walk out of sight, he let out a huge sigh. God damn it, that was the last thing I needed before this... Rico thought as he replaced his green beret and straightened out the sleeve of his jacket. Rico decided that he needed to release some stress, in the usual Rico fashion...jokes and women. And he was not in a joking mood.

After his meal, Matthew had gone up to the bridge in order to prepare the ship for departure. His link with the Alliance computer system stable and his eyes upon the screen, the young Cadet was on the bridge as the Destroyer left dock. "Ally, Ally, Ally," the cadet muttered as he slowly pushed the Alliance out of the dock before setting course for Elysia at a slow cruise. "You are definitely the best ship around...well...at least when it comes to your computer systems," the young computer specialist chuckled as he pulled up multiple windows in front of him.

"Standard military firewalls and anti-virals don't suit you though," Matt continued to talk to himself, thinking no one was on the bridge at the time, though he realized Ally was listening in. "A little something special should be in order," he continued as he minimized all status windows but sensors and communications monitoring, placing Ally's navigation in her control. "Let's see....layered defenses would probably do. Firewalls layered one over the other with fake back doors here and there, aggressive anti-virals, counter-virals with a bit of umph to them, and maybe a few traps in the mainframe to counter all sorts of hackers," the young man mumbled as he glanced at the sensors window now and then.

"By the time I'm done with you, no enemy in the galaxy would want to hack into you." he muttered with a grin, something he rarely allowed himself to show.

Adrian sat on one of the bunks, his back against the wall, and began typing yet another report for Captain Miller, with a copy being sent to both Wazu and Willis.

Quote:
P3C Istvan Yuttreburg was brought to the medbay after being forcibly sedated in response to a drug related mental breakdown. Upon examination by Private Chiaki, it was determined that Istvan had Super Silo'd on the stimulant agent known as "Big K," which he repeatedly asked for. P3C Yuttreburg has currently been put under until further evaluation can continue after the medical examinations of the rest of the crew. Until that time, myself and Private Chiaki both reccomend complete removal from active duty.

Adrian hit send and got up. He smiled at Kokuten.
"Fun job, eh mate?"

------

Suku found herself in the marine quarters in front of Istvan's locker. Inside, sure enough was a small pill bottle. She took it, popped it open to make sure there was stuff inside, and pocketed it.

------

Adrian looked up as his assistant walked in.
"Ah, hello. Find it?"
The Geshrin nodded and produced the bottle. She tossed it to Adrian, who also checked it is contents before setting them on one of the examination tables.
The Geshrin hopped onto the cot she had been sleeping on earlier an sighed. "Damn, those marines are annoying. I had to pistol whip one of the more persistant ones before the fuckers left me alone."
Adrian responded with nothing more than a subdued laugh and a large smile.

Benji heard a couple of marines grumbling about phsyical exams in the med bay. He thought long and hard and then remeberd he hadn't have one for a long time. He wanted to stay laying down, but the thought of seeing Suku again brought the sleepy marine to his feet. It was amazing what the thought of a decent girl could do to a lonely marine huh? Benji walked out of the room and then walked down the halls.

He arrived just in time to hear what Suku was saying about the marines. "Yeah, allthough eventually you'll have to point that pistol at them to get them to back off..." he said, obviously asleep on his feet. "Yes, I'm back...again...glad to see me?" He asked with a grin. Turning towards Adrian he yawned, his chest expanding untill it seemed like he'd esplode[spelled wrong on purpose] and then let out a breath. "I over head a few marines talking 'bout physical exams. So I figured since I hadn't had one for the last six months, better get one now eh?" he turned towards Suku, flashed her a bright smile and then proceeded to crack his neck and let out a satisifed sigh.

“Soreta please report to the bridge.” Ally said to Soreta over the PA system. The NSS Alliance had just dropped out of hyper stream dive outside of the Elysian home system at a distance of several hundred AU.

The Alliance itself continued toward the Elysian home world at a fraction of C, transmitting a friendly communication. “This is the NSS Alliance of the Nepleslian Empire. We are here on a peaceful mission to conduct diplomatic negotiations. Please respond.”

Miller nodded to his XO, whom was just putting down a datapad with some schematics on it in order to respond to a message from the medbay, “Alright, we knocked on the door. Lets see if anyone answers.”

Wazu had to excuse himself for a moment to send off a message on the data pad through text “Place P3C Istavan on one of the automated surgery tables and let Ally try and clean his system. We need to have every marine functioning at 100% for the upcoming operation.” Wazu also had another message to send off to Fian, informing him of a crate from NAM marked on the manifest as power armor weapons had been placed in the foreword storage bay.

Adrian stood with his hands in his pockets. Let's see... we need mission essential personnel first... "Hey Suku, go grab Fian Vel Steyr. Tell him we need him for a physical." Suku left the room with a sigh, passing Benji on the way out. Adrian smiled at the man, "Hey Benji. We're getting through the higher-ups and what not. Take a seat and we'll get to you in a bit."

Fian had recently washed his face and straightend out his uniform with the new rank bars when he heard a knock on the washroom door. Checking the mirror one more time to see if there are any signs that may indicate his crying earlier, the Vel Steyr was satisfied but that forlorn look was still on his face. Shaking his head, he opened the door and was surprised to see a crewmember he has not seen before.

Suku smiled at Fian. "Hello Private Fian. I'm P3C Suku Matsobuki. I'm one of the new crew members working in the medbay. If you would please follow me, we need an up-to-date physical."

"Oh!" Fian said. At least none of that 'Hi and lets be friends thing.' She got straight down to business. "Well... Lead the way then." He did not want to think about anything anymore for a while.

Suku flashed a half smile and walked down the hall. "So, you're one of the hot shots now, right? Big promotion?"

The Vel Steyr looked to the side as he followed Suku down the hall, unconciously regulating the distance between them by spatial awareness. Although he could see her foot in the edges of his vision, he did not pursue further. "Yeah." He simply answered, indicating that he is not in the mood for socializing.

Suku took the hint and strode faster. She reached the medbay door and strode in. Adrian looked up at her and nodded and went back to messing with his bass. "Fian's here, ja?" The Geshrin nodded.

"Adrian." Fian muttered. He paused for a moment to figure out where their friendship stood now, considering that Decane had come clean about the previous incident, he thought that episode should just be forgotten. "Yo." The Vel Steyr said, waving a little and trying to act a little more cheery than what he was now. "Is it going to involve any needles?"

Adrian put the bass down beside him on the bunk and stood. "Only one, mate. Unless, of course, you'd rather start vomiting blood. We need a blood sample for a drug test. If you'll take a seat, we'll get started." Adrian stood and grabbed one of medical data pads and motioned to one of the examination tables.

Fian nodded to both Suku and Adrian. He walked over to the examination table and sat on it upright, as he did he noticed a familiar figured out cold in the opposite table. Taking a good look, he sighed as he realized who it was. I am going to have to ask some questions later. The Vel Steyr rolled up his sleeves.

"Alrighty, we'll get the blood test first." Adrian grabbed one of the needle attachments for the datapad and hooked it in. "This shouldn't hurt a whole lot." He stuck the needle into Fian's vein, and several moments later the scanner beeped, indicating no harmful substances. "Alright, you're all clean." Adrian pulled the needle out and disconnected it from the pad, turning the interface back to a medical form. He tapped the screen a bit, and then looked at Fian. "Have you had any major injuries within the last two years?"

Fian thought for a while, his past two years was in boot camp. "Lets see, some bruises, broken ribs, cuts and scratches. Well, thats about it."

"Alright, good. We've got one more question. Any major mental diseases or defects?" Adrian tapped another couple times on the screen, marking off the correct items.

"I like killing people at close range with knives." Fian said, rather bluntly.

Adrian smiled at him. "Know that feeling. Alright, you're all good." Adrian saved the file on his pad and and put it down.

"One question, doc." Fian said, standing up. "Is there any way I could have Istvan for the next mission? I trust in his abilites to lead, although I don't condone addictive drug (ab)use, I believe his presence in the next operation would result in fewer marines visiting your medbay when it is all over."

Adrian shook his head. "Sorry, Fian. He's got a hardcore Big K dependancy, and if he goes without it for more than about an hour, he runs through a mental breakdown. If I let him on-world, I'll be personably responsible for all injuries and casualties that he would cause. Also, he's in no condition to fight, let alone lead at the moment. See if you can work someone else in."

Fian looked at Istvan, then at Adrian. Gee, even a personal appeal cant save him now. Perhaps Adrian doesnt want Istvan to steal his thunder in the next mission? Unlikely. Besides, he'll be held accountable too. "Then I expect you to be on site, Adrian. I'm counting on you."

Adrian nodded. "I'll be there. Just tell me where to shoot and what to sew, and I'll be fine."

Fian raised the Datapad to look at the armor selection list, Adrian still had not picked an armor yet. Hell, everyone is running slow today. "So... Phalanx, as usual?"

"Actually, I think I'll switch things up this time, Fian. Throw me down for a Warhawk. Faster, hits harder, the works."

"Right then." Fian said, penning in the entry with his stylus. He realized after that that he penned it in the wrong row. His eyes must be tired or he was under a bit of stress. He exaggerated his predicament a little so that Adrian could get the idea. "Say, anything I could use?" He asked, lowering the pad.

Adrian cocked an eyebrow. "You mean chemical wise? Yeah, I got some stuff." He turned and picked up the datapad, pulling up an inventory. "We've got focus, long-night, that sort of stuff. What you want?"

"Clarity... would do." Fian said, hesitatingly. He was not an avid drug user but he just cant take any chances for this mission. "About a dose, in an ordinary container. I want to fit it into my Power Armor dispenser somehow."

Quote:
“This is the NSS Alliance of the Nepleslian Empire. We are here on a peaceful mission to conduct diplomatic negotiations. Please respond.”

"Ahh crap." Fian exclaimed. "Just throw it over here, I need to get to the PA bay fast."

"Uuuh, Clarity has not reached the market yet. Here, try this." Adrian reached into the drawer pulled out an Emrys container and threw it Fian. "Just dump it into the dispenser. I need to go get Soreta's and Rico's blood tests. Good luck." Adrian grabbed the datapad and the needle attachments and walked quickly from the medbay.

Fian quickly forwarded a message to call all available Marines into the Power Armor bay immediately, he himself was running through the doorway shouting. "Get into your Power Armors immediately and get in formation!" A fair amount of marines who were messing around in the Rapid Launch Bays quickly clambered aboard their Power Armors.

A technician stopped Fian as he made his way to his AIR2. "We have just received a shipment of the new LBR-02as, shall I distribute them?"

"Do it." Fian snapped as he continued moving. His reserved AIR2 unit has been bleached bright white in preparation for repainting over the previous damage. Fian liked it as it is now though, it reminded him of a certain lost hair.

Climbing up his AIR2, he slotted both the Emyrs container and Elise into their respective places and then allowed himself to fall into the Pilot's cavity. As he did the straps around the insides tightened around his limbs and the armor closed up, lowering the visor and neuroscanner upon his head. Flexing his mechanical fingers, Fian was confident he can pilot the AIR2 well.

Bringing up his Power Armor from a kneeling position, Fian walked over to a weapon store nearby and pulled out two VBCS/Ses and fastened it to his waist. When he was done he moved up to the front of the bay and waited for the rest of the marines to assemble.

Soreta arrived on the bridge soon after she was called, a fairly neutral look on her face. She looked like the kind of person that could be depended on, right now...but whether that impression would stretch to the Elysians was another thing entirely.

"Treat the Elysians with respect...after all, we're their guests."

Captain Miller kept his gaze unbroken on the view screen in front of him, monitoring the ships status as he told Soreta, “We’ve sent out a greeting. The diplomatic services are your duty.” He motioned to one of the seats around the central table on the bridge where she would be able to communicate with the Elysians.

Gran had fallen asleep on his bunk after talking to Rico, he hadn't even woken up when the ship took off. His dreams were absent, his rest undisturbed. He woke slowly and stretched with a yawn. His mind snapped back to the present. He jumped up quickly pulling his shoes on.

"Ally, how long till we reach Elysia?"

Adrian came to an intersection of the corridors, rapidly growing impatient. He looked down one of the halls and saw Rico. Fuckin' finally… He walked down the hall a slight ways after him and stopped. "P2C Sanroma, I need your blood test, please." He took out the datapad with the medical needle attached. Adrian was attempting to stay as professional as possible.

Rico recognized the voice instantly, quickly adopting a straight emotionless face as he slowly turned around. Rico didn't move to meet him, however...he just stood there, arms crossed and body rigid, waiting for Adrian to move up to him.

Adrian walked forward until he was three feet or so from Rico. "Private Sanroma, please roll up your sleeve. This shouldn't hurt." Adrian took the needle in hand and waited.

Rico continued to stand in front of Adrian, not moving, not saying anything. His eyes had a look of determination in them as they watched Adrian's movements. He didn't respond when Adrian spoke, but rather he quickly and most obviously flitted his eyes down to his rank bars, then back to Adrian's eyes.

Adrian followed Rico's eyes down to his rank bars. He growled to himself. He looked back at Rico's face. "I'm sorry, sir, but I'm not going to degrade myself in front of you to do something for your benefit." Adrian was shooting daggers from his eyes at this point, having dealt with far too much shit already that day.

As Adrian finally caught the hint, Rico's face gave an ever-so-slight hint of a smirk. "I don't think a simple salute is somethin' to get upset about," he said with a flash in his eyes.

Adrian felt his body tense up and his teeth grit. "Roll up your bloody sleeve now please, Sir, or I'll report you to the XO for having an incomplete physical and for refusing to complete one. I don't have the time or patience for this."

Rico's smirk grew into a smile as he watched Adrian squirm. As far as Rico was concerned, a salute would've appeased his mighty ego, but with the announcement of arrival to Elysia finally set in, Rico decided the numerous 'please' and 'sir's would be enough for now. He slowly unfolded him arms and presented his left arm, still fully sleeved, to the medic. "If you would, please...my other arm is still drying from the synthetic skin."

This has got to be a joke… "You're a Private Second Class, not a General. I'm not your bitch. And if I wasn't on probation right now, I'd feed you this fucking needle. Now, do you still want to be an ass, or should I type up a message for Wazu right now?"

Rico, arm still outstretched, waited a moment or two with his stern face glaring. He then lowered his head slightly and let out an aggravated sigh, before bringing his head back up, a look of frustration on his face. "Fine, alright," Rico mumbled, reaching out with his right arm (which was completely dry) and pulling the sleeve of his jacket up to his shoulder. "...but as far as I'm concerned, I am permitted to be an ass to you, and as far as I'm concerned it is customary to salute a superior officer, no matter how superior," Rico finished, presenting his arm again.

Adrian jabbed the needle in Rico's arm quickly. He waited a few seconds and watched as the blood scan went through. Several seconds later, the datapad beeped, indicating the man was clean. "You're good to go." Adrian pulled out the needle roughly and stepped back. "And Rico, there's a cause for everything. Don't go around acting like you didn't deserve what was coming to you. Good bye." Adrian turned and walked away down the hall.

Rico smirked as he watched Adrian turn to leave. "Tch, same for you. Next time you're suicidal, call me in advance baby!" Rico said as he twirled around, replacing his sleeve and straightening his beret. "So I can get a better seat!"

Adrian stopped and clenched his fist. He opened his mouth, about to speak, and then shut it, and continued down the hall, seething. Fucker. See if I sew him up when he loses a bloody arm down on the damn planet.

Captain Miller tensed in his chair on the bridge.

"Why haven't they responded yet? Don't they see that we're waiting out here? Do our sensors detect any abnormalities? Lieutenant Wazu, what's the status of our marine teams? Are they prepared for launch?"

The questions flew out of his mouth as he was quickly preparing for a worst case scenario.

When Fian put out the call Benji sighed and then snuck out of the med bay. He slid down the halls and paused in the room to get himself his meds and then went straight towards the PA Bay. Once inside he picked out a WATER 2 and then quickly and efficently striped himself right then and there. He climbed up the front of the PA, slotted the meds and then wriggled down inside.

Once he was situated and the PS was adjusted he got to his feet and took a look at his HUD. With a satisfied smirk he got himself a long sword, the Type 1 rifel and traded his old LBR for one of the newer ones. After letting the techies hook the LBR up he slung the longsword over his back and then adjusted the LBR for a better grip. When everything was in place he turned towards the launch bays.

He opened a com line with Fian "Here Fian and behind you all the way..." He said. He'd been eager to try out the FIRE 1 they'd brought on board, but since he had to knowedge of how it handeled he thought he'd stick with a WATER for now.

The Alliance was soon contacted by the Elysians, in form of a visual message showing a particularly dashing (although as usuall rather cold looking) Patrician sitting in a throne like object.

"NSS Alliance, this is Senator Laurael. You will forgive us our delay - we were calculating what to do with your unanoucned invasion of our space. You will be glad to hear that for the sake of diplomacy we will speak no more of it. You will soon notice an small escort approaching you. We would prefer it if you follow them at sub light levels to our planet.

The senate prays that this meeting will be fruitful."

After several moments of searching the ship further hoping to catch Soreta for her bloodtest, Adrian gave up and headed towards the armor bay. Disconnecting the needle from the datapad, he sent a message to the medical network, assuring that Kokuten would get it.

Kokuten, have Suku stay behind and set up the medical bay for an emergency. She can talk to Valo if need be. You, on the other hand, get down to the armor bay. The want us ready to roll.

As soon as he sent the message, his pad beeped and he looked at it again. It was from Wazu. damn it, what does he want?
He opened it and read it before scoffing. He quickly wrote a new message.

Quote:
Lieutenant Wazu,
Istvan Yuttreburg is currently in no condition for combat. Earlier today he broke his hand on an Airlock before running screaming through the halls. As I stated earlier, he easily suffers withdrawal from Big K, often needing the pills at least once every couple hours. A simple detox treatment will not help the psychological aspects of it.
If I were to release him for combat as is, I would be, as medical officer of this ship, be directly responsible for anything that happened as a result of his behavior. In a delicate combat situation such as this, that will likely mean death for other marines, which is not something I want to be linked to me.
Medical Officer P3C Adrian Decane

As Adrian finished his message, he arrived at the PA Bay.

Time to go.
----

Adrian stood in front of one of the NDI armor synthesizers and looked at all the beautiful choices for weaponry. He already had his armor picked out, a CPA-05 Warhawk, and had an F-18 Disruptor Rifle ready for his primary weapon.
He scrolled through his choices, and stopped at the P53 Light Plasma Cannon. He grinned widely and hit the keys to requisition it for his armor load-out. He hit the keys to assemble the armor, and stepped back.
A moment later, the marine stood in the fast, heavy armor, looking rather out of place surrounded by the far different NAM armors. Adrian hefted his large Disruptor rifle. It would work fine.
Stepping from the platform, he walked to the armory with the numerous weapons designed for the NAM armors and grabbed a chain sword. It would come in handy.

-----

Several moments later, Adrian was in front of one of the lines of marines outside of the launch tubes, a large medpack attached to his hip, and his weapons primed and ready.
"Fian, this is Adrian. Ready to go."

John fell out of the supply closet with a thud, and got to his feet, shaking his head and rubbing his hair. “Geez, musta fallen asleep”. He blinked, and his eyes grew wide and he started to run full out towards one of the launchbays. “Heh Ally, are the other marines gone already!?!?!”

Kokuten was about to leave the Med Bay himself before he received a message from his MO on the Datapad. Cybernetic eyes shifted left and right down the pad as he red the short message. He then looked at Suku who was sitting on one of the tables. For some reason his brain went another direction, and his eyes clacked.

Suku, caugh the sound of Kokuten's eyes clacking.

"What?" She smirked as she thought he was staring at him. "You see something you like? Well, stop, not like you could get any of it." She finished bluntly. Kokuten shook his brain out of la la land.

"No... My mind drifted for a moment, anyway, the MO sent me a message for you." Kokuten waved his datapad.

"Oh?", Suku's reply.

"He says you need to chill, bitch." Kokuten grinned.

"W-... Wh... What?" stuttered the now red-faced Geshrin.

"Ha! No, he really gave you orders to set up the Med Bay for emergency, have tools and devices in steady and ready reach. However, the former quote was actually a P.S. to the message, you really didn't think I was lying do you?", the Cyborg grinned widely this time, of course, he was lying. Though, he only knew that Adrian probably would've said something like that. Suku only replied this time with a 'fuck you' stare, the cyborg's eyes only clacked in a retaliation. She seemed to only reinforce her gaze.

Stare.

Clack.

Stare...

Clack...

The two of them went at this little escapade for about a few minutes. Until Kokuten finally broke out into a little chuckle.

"You be careful around that medical equipment, I've got to go suit up." Kokuten suddenly said, leaving in this motion.

"Hey, wait." Suku said, getting off the bed.

"What?" Kokuten said looking back.

"I'll kick your asses if you come back with bullet holes in you, I'll need help with all these wounded." she grinned slyly. The Medic could only chuckle in response and strolled down to the Armor Bay. It took him a moment, but he found a WATER2 that almost looked like it had it is name on it for him. It was outfitted with the new LBR, the rest of the equipment was pretty standard. He stripped down, and suited up, quickly sliding into the armor.

"Nice and snug." Kokuten chuckled to himself. He then joined the rest of the Power Armor, his new 5-foot rifle in hand. The Medic looked down at the new weapon, it truly was different from what they had used in training. The weapon was already folded, and he observed how the stock was too far back to place on shoulder. He looked down at the attachment on the weapons hardpoint, it had an inscription on the side.

Positron Capacitor, if I'm not mistaken, that allows for a continuous fire.

It was an odd weapon to be sure, he couldn't wait to test it.

As the Elysians spoke, Soreta stood, the first thing in their view. What little they could see of her face said, 'We want peace, but we're not putting up with your shit.'

In fluent Elysian, she said, "My name is Soreta. My purpose is to negotiate a treaty between Nepleslia and Elysia. We recognize your escort and will follow them to your home. I, too, pray that this meeting will be fruitful."

May the Writers forgive me for what I am about to do...

“Oh Great” John muttered in response to ally’s information. He slid into the bay like a surfer over the floor, and walked quickly past the armors and then stopped at a heavily armed model which he hadn’t seen before. He called a tech over and was told it was unassigned, so he climbed in. He took a few minutes to familiarize himself with the new unit, smirking at its plasma launcher.
“Finally, some heavy artillery!”
John snickered almost evilly and admired the weapon, then moved his unit out, one foot in front of the other, to take his place in preparation for launching.
“I’m ready Sir!” He chimed out over the intercom and waited for his orders, looking over the weapons load out and system data further.

Fian looked at the assembling marines, although the Alliance had exited Hyperspace at the very outskirts of the Elysian system, he would have prefered if everyone was ready to sorte before then. God knows what would happen when we are in enemy terrirory, worse, the enemy home like what the tunnels and the Alliance was in the previous simulation. Terrirorial advantage means you play by their rules.

And this means part of my plan has been rendered obsolete. The Vel Steyr resisted the urge to facepalm.Should not have planned that far unless I was absolutely certain of the variables.

But whatever it is, something has to be done to the marines already here. He pulled up his roster and begun to assign them to their groups. He hates breaking up the established Alpha-Beta-Delta groups but everybody has their preferred Power Armor and it was Power Armor that determined the speciality of the Marine.

"All right, I dont know what the Elysians are going to pull, but I am going to tell you what we are going to pull." Fian cleared his throat, getting the attention of the marines. "If shit happens, the first people that are going to get hurt is the diplomatic envoy. And because the safety of the envoy is our top pirority, I am going to give you permission to annhilate any possible threats when the time comes."

"I'm not going to kid you, we are at a severe disadvantage here and most of us might to make it out alive. But if I catch any of you shooting unnessesary targets or pulling the trigger before any angel does, I'm going to make you wish you didnt make it."

"Now, thanks to our dear Senator Laureal of the Elysian senate, the rules has changed. Some parts of the plan is no longer valid but I am going to control every aspect of this mission when the time comes so the plan is not that important." Fian called up large holographic screen next to him to display what he was about to determine next: Group arrangements.

"The selected WATER2s, Golems, and FIRE1s will be part of Gamma team. If anything happens, we will be the first to 'clear the air' at the diplomatic talks." The names on the list included John Hawkins, Benji Storm and Kokuten Chiaki. "I will be personally leading this group."

"The next team of the following Phalanxes, Warhawks, Kariyus and AIR2s will be playing support and back up." Fian announced, a second list appearing. Many of those members of Epsilon team. "P3C Adrian is in charge."

"The last group, comprising of everybody else, will remain in the vicinity of the NSS Alliance, Sargeant Dick Pickett leading." Some groans were heard amongst the marines. "Ultimately both the envoy and us will be retreating from this sector onboard this ship. I trust you would be able to take care of it."

"And there you go." Fian said, wrapping up his speech. "The groups are Gamma, Epsilon and Charlie respectively. Charlie may exit right now to perfor escort duties, the rest of the marines will remain here until further notice. Godspeed, soldiers."

At that, group Charlie begain to launch out from the tubes. But Fian still had something more to say. "Ally." He said, switiching to a private channel. "Digitally lock every marine's weapons unless they are out of communications or a signal is given by me or any of their respective group leaders. Inform the group leaders, and send me the names of anyone who fires prematurely after the mission." Fian waited for Ally to respond. Cant afford to screw up here, just cant... Just cant.

Captain Miller stood beside his chair and spoke a reply as well, in Nepleslian, because, well, he didn't know Elysian.

"I am Captain Jack Miller of the NSS Alliance. We have been charged with escorting Miss Soreta here, whom, I assume, has just introduced herself. We request your permission to continue in that regard. If it makes you comfortable, we will gladly permit a 'diplomatic' escort of yours to guide us to the proper drop point."

Miller's face was all business, but it bore the firm-yet-fair expression of a battle-tested leader.

The senator allowed them both to speak before responding in a slow, measured fashion, first speaking in the strangely beautiful language that was Seraphim to Soreta,

"It is good that you speak the civilized language, Diplomat Soreta. Your accent is better than most foreigners."

He then spoke to both of them in English, although during the transfer it was apparent he found the language distasteful and inelegant,

"We recognise you Captain Miller, as well as your purpose. It is important that we speak of the transfer. We wish to pick up your diplomat while you are in orbit on one of our shuttles. You will forgive us, but we know your ship's destructive power and we do not wish it to be within our atmosphere."

The Alliance would noticed the approaching object multiply as two Concordia Scout Ships were joined by three decloaking ones. They silently and gracefully flew into and escort formation.

Matthew kept silent at his console as he listened to the conversation between the Elysians, Soreta, and Captain Miller. He had stopped his plans of sprucing up the Alliance's computer defenses for the moment to monitor communications going several different ways along with sensors. He couldn't help but sweat a bit at the whole situation.

He had joined the military to serve the new Nepleslian Star Empire and understood the necessary applications of diplomacy, but he was a soldier and a technical specialist. All this was a bit un-nerving to the Cadet as he sat on the Bridge doing his job.

In many cases, the Marine's had the better job considering they were in the bowels of the Alliance while Matt sat there, possibly visible to the Elysians he knew his father and uncle probably hated and feared.

His face hiding his worries with an expressionless facade, Cadet Lionheart turned back to his console and the many windows on it. Sensors could detect all the ships in the area, the Elysians outnumbering them fairly well (which was to be expected). Communications between the armor teams could be seen by the ship's communications window and only gave Matt more work to do. The third window on his console was that of coding he had been writing while waiting for the Elysians to greet them. Saving it to a text file first, the young Cadet stored it in a personal file for the moment so that he could concentrate on his duties.

"Very well then. We will remain stationed here for receipt of your shuttle. Boarding the shuttle will be Soreta and a small security detail. Please reserve space for 3 or 4 persons total."

A window near Miller's console, from Cadet Lionheart, alerted the captain to the fact of the enemy ships surrounding them. A display of power was to be expected this close to hostile territory, but being outnumbered like this made the captain's stomach uneasy.

"Is there anything else you request to make this transfer a smooth one?"

Gran thoughtfuly paced, wondering when his instructions would come. He had been slightly nervous about the whole mission since Rico had invited him along, but he was much too excited to think about the stress. He walked slowly in long circles around the deck, crossing the mess hall, the medbay, even the rec room.

He had his eyes on his computer pad as he walked the halls, he didn't worry about running into anyone since practically all the other marines were in the Power Armor bay. He had what little information he could dig up on Elysian customs and structure displayed on the pad, and he slowly scrolled through the text, trying to absorb as much of it as possible. He paced and read, waiting for his call to escort Soreta.

A smile slid smoothly on to the senators face,

"Perhaps. My nation wishes to extend its welcome to you and your crew, to enjoy what hospitality Elysia can offer. You are, after all, our guests and we treat our guests well - God demands we do nothing less. If you wish we shall transport you and as much of your crew down to the surface of our holy planet, to show that there is no animosity between our peoples. If you do not wish to take up this offer?" Laurael paused for a moment, "Then I am sure the Elysian people will not take it to be a deliberate stub on your behalf aimed to disrupt the negotiations."

"Thank you, I will consult with my crew briefly before contacting you once more. Please standby."

The communication was placed on hold, blacking out the channel as Miller looked to his bridge crew.

"Well, do any of you want to go? Personally, I'm not setting foot of this ship. I can't afford to leave the crew on this ship at the mercy of the Elysians. The only other option is if the entire crew went planetside, and that's NOT going to be an option."

He cleared his throat.

"Seems that they're trying to present a front of power, especially with those escorts approaching. I'm thinking of sending some of our own armors planetside to keep up appearances. Lieutenant, contact the Vel Steyr in charge of the marine sortie and give him this option."

Wazu nodded and opened up a link to Vel Steyr, “Plans have changed. We have been given the option to send additional marines down to the surface along with the diplomatic party. Ask around if any of them want to go planeside. I want at least half the marines on board the Alliance and still suited up in case something happens.”

Wazu then opened a line of communication to Rico, “Rico, plans have changed. You might be getting additional soldiers. I want you to stay in touch with Steyr in the event that men from his team transfer to yours to disembark to the surface. I want at least two men to stay with the diplomat at all times, the rest should keep their eyes open and explore the area if you can.”

Wazu then looked up from his console to tell the captain, “Sir, I would also like to suggest that they may be trying to deplete the Alliance of her crew so she would be more vulnerable during an attack. I must recommend that we keep as many people on board as is reasonable.”

--------------------------------------------------

Istvan would wake up with a variety of surgical devices retracting from his body. Ally’s physical body had placed him on the surgical table for a detox operation that had cleaned his blood and purged the worst of the damage from his body.

“Istvan, maintenance on your body has been preformed and you are cleared for duty for the time being.” She was holding a pair of pants and a shirt in his size and added, “You should dress and check in with PSC Fian as soon as you are dressed.

Rico had been leaning against the wall of the Bridge corridor for the last few minutes, waiting patiently for any signs of movement from the large bulkhead door protecting the bridge. Rico knew Soreta would be inside, handling the greetings between the NSS Alliance and the Elysians, and Rico took it upon himself to simply wait for the diplomat to leave the bridge and begin the escort there. The silence of the empty ship hallways did not do much to alleviate the tension as he waited.

After more waiting, Wazu's voice addressed Rico from the speaker system above his head. Rico listened as Wazu explained the situation, heaving a sigh of relief when it was revealed that he might be receiving additional marine support. Rico decided to hold his communication with Fian until he knew what marines were getting assigned to him and continued leaning against the side of the corridor, arms crossed, forced smile spread precariously across his face.

Fian thought for a while. He originally wanted Istvan to lead Epslion. Besides, just moments before this he saw Istvan totally incapacitated and on the medibay bed. Like what Adrian said, that Istvan's actions is his responsibility, it was only appropriate that the medic watches over him.

"Grab a power armor and report to Adrian. Epslion Team." Fian said over his loudspeakers to Istvan, pointing an armored finger towards the Medic. I'll upload the mission data to you as soon as you get in.

The Vel Steyr then uploaded a namelist of the marines going planetside (The whole Gamma team including Fian, Kokuten, Benji and John) to Ally so that she may forward it to the appropriate parties. After that he closed his eyes and waited...

Mike's beady little eyes looked around as he walked into the bay wear wearing his armor, a WATER. His stony facial expression was locked in his typical frown. Puttting on his helmet, he hooked up to the tactical network and checked his weapons to make sure everything was in order. Next, he introduced himself to his new squadmates. "M. Crosby, signing on. The cloqual was just starting to hit his blood, and while it was no where near as potent as big K it certainly made him feel better, sharper, and more alert. "Thank the gods for cloqual... helps me feel human again." he muttered under his breath, then he blinked at the com light, and turns off the transmitter

Going planetside? YES.

Kokuten would've loved to have been on the planetside team in the first place. He wanted to see the if the rumors about the 'beautiful' Elysian world was true. The fact that he was getting to see it on peaceful terms filled him with joy. If only the other Marines could just see that big stupid grin on his face.

Though, he began to focus on the matter at hand, these Elysians were just plain strict on outward appearence, at least according to what he had heard. They would probably consider him a barbarian of some sort compared to themselves. He hated be looked down on, and that may cause problems between the Elysians and himself.

Istvan scowled, reactivating the transmitter "your squad moves fast. Not my area of expertise. I would rather have a small squadron of waters to serve as support to yours." He said "However if you order me into a fast mover I will obey..." Istvan seemed unhappy with the prospect of abandoning his water "Perhaps throw some FIREs into the group too... that would allow us maximum support ability!" Istvan sighed "I am not a stunt man-pilot."

Adrian shook his head.
"You don't need to be a stunt pilot to run one of these. But these guys are ready to rock with their current load-outs," He motioned to the large group of Marines behind him.
"I'll let you choose between a Phalanx and a Warhawk, but one of the two. A group of WATER's would only serve to slow down the rest of us."

"Lieutenant, I am aware of the situation. Cadet Lionheart will be staying on board with me during this mission. Between his skills, Ally, and my own abilities, we should be prepared for any threat. With that being said, I'm turning on the communications link once more. Be ready."

Blip. The communication to Elysia was opened once more.

"My apologies for having you waiting, sir. It appears that some of our soldiers would like to accept your gracious invitation. We will begin preparations for transfer immediately."

After the Elysian's reply, the communication would turn off and the captain would immediately turn to his Lieutenant.

"Lieutenant, I need not tell you the extreme importance of our marines behaving themselves on this mission."

He quickly sent a message to P2C Fian Vel Steyr.

Quote:
"Soldier, you are well aware of the implications of this mission. If any of those under your command should prove unfit for this mission by embarrasing themselves, and our nation, in front of the Elysians, I give you full permission to do what is necessary to amend any damaged feelings."

A new Elysian communication patched through, this time from a small shuttlecraft approaching the NSS Alliance. A thin Plebeian woman came on-screen, strawberry blonde hair framing a softly angled face showing a good deal more kindness than the expressions of the esteemed Senator who had first given them permission.

"I greet you, honored guests. I am Ilalel, and our shuttle should be docking with Alliance momentarily. Please have your emissaries and guests ready." Her voice was slightly excited, beneath the composure - she was probably rather fresh to the cold world of Elysian etiquette and politics.

The small vessel glided past the Concordia escorts to meet with the Alliance. Inside, it was elegant, though not excessive, with slightly glossy white walls and floor, patterned with pale blue and soft red inscription and illustrations of classical scenes of religious importance. Ilalel waited by the airlock for the boarding Nepleslians, hands folded at her waist. She was dressed in white mesh, an Iyko and Iyaloh, the latter scarf-like garment bearing a wide golden stripe on its lower edge.

Matthew wouldn't allow himself to sigh in relief in front of Captain Miller. The young Cadet was glad he wasn't going down to the planet. From what he heard from his father and uncle, the angels were a bunch of religious zealots...but then again, they both were a bit fanatical in their 'angel-hating'. His uncle had actually lost his wife to the plague that was unleashed.

The young Lionheart mentally pushed those thoughts aside. He had never met Elysians before and he didn't really care if he ever did. This was just another job...no matter what childish curiousities he had.

The young man could only frown at that thought. Curiousity, the phrase it that it killed the cat. Well, Matthew neither had ears nor boobs, and he sure as hell wasn't from Yamatai. He would let curiousity control him.

"About now."

Standing a few feet beyond the gentle Ilalel was a group of rough Nepleslians in Power Armor with weapons at the ready. About five pairs of Monoeyes were centered upon the Elysian, their concentrated light raising the temperature of her skin by at least a few degrees. One white colored AIR2 lowered its FMD and approached the angel. It stopped and bent at the waist, perhaps a gesture of respect, perhaps so that it may be easier for her to hear him.

"Excuse us." Fian said over loudspeakers, its volume turned down as not to blast Ilalel. "Standard procedures." He informed her of his next course of action. Straightening up back to his full height and towering over the Elysian, he raised his fist to eye level and then lowered it. At that the NAM armors either turned off or focused their Monoeyes elsewhere. At least it wont be that obvious with the monoeyes off. He thought. With two fingers directed towards the shuttle hold, the Vel Steyr, two WATER2s and a FIRE1 entered to perform a search while the remaining marines continued undressing her with their real eyes.

As soon as the four of them entered the shuttle, the red dots on their shoulders darted here and there, scanning the shuttle for any potential threats or traps. Fian could not help but notice the intricate paintings on the walls, it was only something he saw in textpads at class. The shuttle must be purpose fitted for very important guests. He resisted the temptation to touch it, he would not be able to feel it anyway. One armor turned to face him: "All Clear". The second and third one raised a thumbs up sign. Fians own sensors also indicated notthing. Satisfied, the group stepped off the shuttle.

"The diplomatic envoy will be boarding shortly." Fian said to Ilalel from where he stood directly opposite her in the coridoor. The other Power Armors also had their backs to the wall and were facing each other further down the line. He switched communications to Ally. "The shuttle is clean. Inform the appopriate parties."

Gran scratched his head slightly as he worked on the articles of Elysian culture he had managed to obtain. He didn't quite understand why, but he would do his best to commit it all to rote memory. He sighed slightly as he rounded a corner. He leaned against the wall for a moment to collect his thoughts. This is the future, what I do now affects every Nepleslian's life. I can do this. He assured himself as he pushed from the wall and continued to the elevator. He closed the text on his pad and switched to some music as the elevator rose. He fitted a small ear piece to his head and smiled as the metal poured into his head with controlled fury.

As the elevator opened on the top deck, Gran strode out mouthing words slightly, letting the singer puppeteer his lips. He walked slowly feet matching half the tempo. He rounded another curve and approached the entrance to the bridge. He smiled and pulled the piece out of his ear as he saw Rico. "When do we leave?" He swung out his hand to shake.

"Excuse us. Standard procedures."

The words rang sour in Ilalel's mind, but she gave no indication of offense, simply inclined her head in a graceful matter, complete with a subtle cascading shift of her wing feathers, giving a sound like pattering rain on a wooden roof. "Of course, honored guests. I understand that I am a terribly threatening individual, even without a Seraph escort."

She wasn't offended so much by his words, as by the notable change in temperature he caused on her skin. That, that was just plain rude. Still, she bit her tongue, allowing herself no pleasure beyond the single quip. Nepleslians were barbaric and uncivilized, they couldnt be expected to show the same courtesy or intellect of a true child of God. And so, even with the many marines laying constant gaze upon her, she simply maintained her passive position and awaited the boarding.

The diplomatic envoy will be arriving shortly. That, really, was what Ilalel had wished to hear.

"I anticipate his arrival greatly, honored guest. Thank you."

Another inclination of the head, a show of respect, at least as much respect as she could manage to dig out, for these... brutes.

Rico smirked as he watched Gran approach, attempting to mask his concern as he reached out a hand to meet Gran's in a firm handshake. Afterwards, Rico simply returned to leaning against the wall of the corridor, shooting a glance at the closed bulkhead door to the bridge.

"Well, right now we're just waitin' for them to finish the damn talk. When they come out, you an' me will escort Soreta to that transport they got parked in the airlocks. I just hope those Elysian pricks sent an envoy who can keep quiet."

Mike was one of the first to get onboard the shuttle, equipped with his WATER2 power armor and a few extra guns and grenades in a bag, just in case all hell broke loose down there. He also packed a little extra explosive insurance. While he waited for the others to board and for the shuttle to depart, he askeed the ship's computer for a summarized version of Elysian background and history.

Jet had been passively monitoring the situation from his "office," and sighed. The marines were well-behaved, as least as well as they could be which made his job a great deal easier, but when a elysian diplomat was scheduled to come on board he stood up and stretched. It was time for him to go meet this person to at least provide a measure of security while they were there. So in a few moments he was waiting for them in the hallways outside the docking bay of the Alliance, there wasn't much room in the bay itself with all the people changing places.

"You heard the lady, get on." Fian ordered via loudspeakers.

As the marines shuffled past him to the shuttle. The Vel Steyr stayed where he was opposite the Elysian to make sure nothing untoward happens to her in-passing. When all the marines were in, he still stayed where he was. There was a diplomatic envoy still unaccounted for. He leaned on the wall with his armor and pointed the monoeyes down the corridoor, wondering when will they arrive.

Soreta was somewhat slow in arriving at the shuttle; however, she arrived quite soon after Fian, blades at her sides serving more of a ceremonial purpose than anything practical. She looked to the marines, then to the female Elysian who seemed to be in charge of things.

"My name is Soreta, and I think you're here for me," she said, again in Seraphim.

Gran's face became slightly more serious as he continued with Rico. "You do understand we are to be on our best behavior too, right? Respect will only be returned to those who give it." He smiled again, and turned to follow where he had seen someone go, someone who he expected was Soreta. He tucked the computer pad into his back pocket as he mentally replayed the song he was listening to earlier. He made his steps slow, trying to relax before the big mission, and hoping Rico would walk with him.

Monoeyes zipped left, right, up, down, and all around on Kokuten's WATER2. He absorbed every detail of the transport and all of it is lovely paintings. His mind raced, he was excited, and he ,now with this sample of Elysian architecture, couldn't wait to see the Homeworld. The Nepleslian had wished he was able to bring some sort of photo camera to capture the scenes. Still, he would be sure to give detail of what he would see in his next writting to his parents and brother.

My brother...

Oh, his brother would only scoff at these scenes, calling them unstrategic, distracting, and plain useless. Hatu was always about functionality, how things worked, not how great they look. The two Chiaki brothers were always at eachother's necks, being complete opposites. Hatu was brash, loud, judgemental, violent, distrustful of others, and had an emphasis on the inward sense of self, meaning, he didn't really care what/who it looked like. Kokuten was careful, quiet, forgiving, peaceful, a tad gullible, and had a sense of emphasis on both outward and inward senses of self.

The idea of Hatu being here instead of him, unnerved Kokuten with the fact that his brother might just start a war with his low tolerance for assery.

"I don't give a flippin' shit baby," Rico said with a venomous smirk as they quickly followed Soreta to the airlocks. Rico looked down at this uniform, adjusting anything out of place before looking back up. "When they deserve respect, I'll respect 'em. Until then, they can bite my Nepleslian ass."

Upon reaching the Elysian shuttle and stepping inside, Rico's smile faded as he looked at the innards of the vessel. It was extravagent...white walls, glossy floors, paintings, and smack in the middle of the shuttle, a sickly thin plebian Elysian. The more Rico looked around, the more he was reminded of the many reasons behind his distaste for this race. He kept his comments to himself, however, and stood to Soreta's right as she greeted the Elysian woman.

"Crew scheduled for departure on the Elysian shuttle has been loaded and is ready to depart," Ally reported to Captain Miller.

"Confirmed. Please clear the shuttle for departure. Let's hope this meeting is a beneficial one." The Captain let out a long sigh. "The sooner we can leave, the better."

Ally quickly sent an approval to the pilot of the Elysian shuttle, along with a message bidding the shuttle a safe trip home.

Ally smiled to the marines that had just boarded the shuttle then moved out of the airlock as Wazu entered and limped into the shuttle.

“Good luck, and come back safely,” Ally said as she closed the door on the Alliance airlock, swinging the thick metal door into place then turning the wheel on the inside, manually closing the latch and creating loud ‘thuds’ as the bolts locked into place.

As Wazu sat down the Elysian girl activated the shuttle’s door. It swung back into place with a gentle hum. The white door fit flush against the wall and the seam disappeared entirely with the sound of someone gently exhaling as the material expanded slightly to rejoin with the inner lining of the ship.

The Marines would be able to feel a slight jolt as the Alliance let go of the Elysian shuttle. The voice of a male Elysian came over the intercom and said, “We will be landing at the visitor’s center in three minutes.”

Gran sighed to himself at Rico's remark, for a second he felt like he might be babysitting Rico, making sure he didn't say anything too rash. But only for a second, he trusted Rico more than that and he knew Rico wouldn't start anything global. He quickly followed Rico onto the ship and stood on the other side of who he expected was Soreta. He tried to make eye-contact with their host and gave a slight bow, respectfuly.

As he kept silent and let his eyes wonder about the inside of the ship, he was less surprised than most of the marines, he had already see picutes and files describing similar things when he was studying up for the mission. Sure it was beautiful and pleased the eyes, and Gran liked it, but he could only guess how much extra time and money was spent on it is production and upkeep, and what else the time, and especially the money, could have been spent on.

He leaned slightly as the shuttle jerked and smiled, wondering how the city itself would look.

The shuttle traveled, making little noise until almost two minutes into the trip. At that point a soft sound accompanied the white floor dissolving into a projection of what was below the shuttle. Clouds broke way to show a white marble cathedral against a backdrop of similarly constructed buildings. The shuttle came to an abrupt halt above what looked like a stained glass window which pulled itself apart to expose a landing pad that the shuttle descended down to as it landed amongst large spires adorned with Elysians in various states of undress frozen in intricate dances.

The door of the shuttle then opened with a soft hum, pulling away from the hull of the ship and exposing the large flat roof of the structure they had landed on. Outside was a small group of individuals, one of which stepped forward to address the marines, “Will the guests not with the immediate diplomatic group please come with me into the visitor center?” He asked, sweeping his hand out to indicate where the doorway was to the staircase, his silk toga looking garment rippling across his body in the process.

The Vel Steyr's monoeyes scanned the area. Some survelliance but mostly all clear. Something deep inside him told him that the Elysians are quite honest in the negotiations. Well, thats what he hoped so anyway. There are more than enough enemies of Nepleslia in existence. Since he's on Elysian soil and this is a diplomatic mission, the marines should play along.

With a slight nod to Soreta, he turned to the Elysian. "I am Fian Vel Steyr, Private Second Class. I am responsible for these marines." He then paused for a while. "We'll follow."

Switching over to team-channel he said. "All right, single file. Keep your eyes peeled." He then moved his white AIR2 stepped off the shuttle to follow the Elysian. Well, as long as they are alert, they wont do anything stupid.

Shit shit shit shit DONE!
Adrian quickly grabbed his fly with his heavily armored hand and zipped up, praying he didn't catch anything... important in the rush.
The marine stumbled backwards, grabbed the armor plate that should have been protecting his groin, and quickly began trying to fit it back into place as he ran out of the restroom, drawing rather confused looks from crew who thought that a heavily armed and armored marine did not have the right to relieve his bladder.
Just as he snapped the metal groin-piece back on his armor, he rounded the corner to the PA bay. Adrian stood, breathing slightly heavily, weathering the stares of 50 or so Marines. One started a bit of a giggle.
"Wha'... The Fuck'... A' YA DAMN SLACKAS LAUGHIN' A'?!"
The marines shut the hell up. Most of them hadn't known Adrian long enough to know, but it took a shit load to make the man break down his word structure.
Adrian quickly got back in the front of the line, silently cursing.
A moment later, a small pop-up appeared on his HUD.
Quote:
MECHANICAL REST FACILITY DISENGAGED. PLEASE RECONSTRUCT TO RESUME FUNCTION.

Adrian stared at the message for a moment. The stream of curses that left his mouth after this was quite possibly the most profane, creative mixture of abject rage and hatred to ever be accidently broadcast over a wide-band Star Army channel.

Istvan listened to Adrian's curses, apparently impassively. When he noticed Adrian beginning to repeat himself he finally spoke up. "Very good" he says "But can you say it in Russian?" He then starts into a stream of aggressive constants and harsh letters... If anyone here aside from him actually KNEW Russian though they would find that instead of the slew in insults and cusses it sounded like, it was actually just Istvan reciting a cook-book.... Though the very fact that he had memorized several pages of a cook-book was impressive; he had probably done something like this before. He finished with "And that slew of cusses for taking away my K."

Checking the medical supply logs on a small data pad for the hundredth time, Soldier 3rd Class Fay Saelus shuffled into the PA bay just in time to hear Adrian’s outburst at the marines. He looked up momentarily to scan the area with his emerald green cybernetic eyes. Fay’s platinum blonde hair, at shoulder length and in a ponytail, was tucked in between his back and body armor so that it wouldn’t bother him. After his moment of hesitance, Fay strode over to a nearby bulkhead to await further orders. Fay was obviously having trouble moving around in full body armor. His mechanical kneecap clanged lightly against the armor that was practically fused to his leg. This was his first assignment, so Fay was extremely nervous. He wanted to make a good first impression. Fay had arrived aboard the NSS Alliance just before she had left on her voyage to the Elysian homeworld. Meeting Elysians for the first time was probably making Fay even more nervous than anything else. Fay began to read over the medical supply logs again to try to keep himself busy.

A young woman walked into the power armor bay and called out two names, “P THREE C Adrian and P THREE C Saelus.” Once she was sure she had their attention she asked them to, “Come over here please.’

“We are generated a backlog of work from the new arrivals and are short on personnel at the moment because of the ground detachment. I was hoping that you would be able to show Saelus around the ship soldier Adrian .” Her face smiled at them as her hands went down to her side, the red fingernail polish almost glistening in the light of the power armor bay.

Luckily, he managed stop himself with the rifle inches from his head. Fay blinked and then hurried over to follow Adrian out the door. Because of the proximity to Elysia virtually every crewmember that had not gone down to the surface was busy either arming themselves with weapons out of the armory, heading to the bridge, or running some sort of equipment check. Most of the rooms were empty at the time, and the corridors were quickly clearing out aside from the occasional power armored marine.

within the shuttle Benji found a spot in which to carefuly lean against a bulkhead[wall] and go over the list of his music he'd made sure to load from the files off of the NSS Alliance before they left on the shuttle. He picked out a bit of heavy metal and played them on the internal speakers. He made sure they weren't playing alound. Without making it obvious he turned off his monoeyes for the timebeing and studied the female Elysian with his own eyes.

oddly, he found her to be not quite as pretty or anywhere close to what he'd might have liked to think the angels looked like. He'd taken a breif glance over some random information of Elysians and so far he thought they were just over-rated for him. Of course he much more perfered a girl in overalls with greas smudged skin than an elysian... so far.

Rico watched silently from his standing position next to Soreta as the armored marines slowly filed out of the lavish vessel. The presence of the other marines was a small relief, but now that they were gone he was beginning to appreciate them a little bit more. The area that the Marines were disembarking into was a large, flat courtyard area on top of a structure overlooking a series of gothic style structures in the surrounding area. At each corner of this area was an ornate spire, reaching upward and adorned with various spikes, stained glass and figures of stone. Each had an entry way which led into an elevator that their Elysian guide was attempting to lead them towards, calmly crossing the marble roof of the building they had landed on and entering the closest lift.

Fian twitched as he came to realize something. He isnt part of the diplomatic envoy, he isnt an anthropologist, a tourist or a guest. He isnt here to enjoy himself, he isnt here to be awestruck by these Elysians. He is a soldier, a trained and heavily armed marine, a person responsible for the lives of all the men under him.

Much as he wants everything here to pass uneventfully, to pass quickly, to untense himself in the grace of the Elysian art on display. The Vel Steyr had a serious job to do. "Check em out." He said over the commlink.

Two WATER2s flanking him entered the lifts first, as per standard procedure demonstrated earlier on the shuttle. After five seconds of scanning they returned a thumbs up sign. As leader of the group, P2C Fian Vel Steyr entered the lift next and stood by the Elysian. Waitng for everyone else to board.

Kokuten's mono-eyes scanned the distant buidlings. He noted the spires with the stained glass windows.

Wow, this wouldn't be an easy task to fix if it came under fire.

...

Though, it is some nice stuff, we should get some nice stuff like this.

...

Why don't we have nice stuff like this? I know the stereotypical Nepo-Nepleslian is usually a rough and tough kind of person. That doesn't mean we can't have nice stuff like this, right?

The Nepleslian pondered this as he observed the two pilots in the WATER 2 power armors check the lift. He watched Fian enter the lift and eventually entered himself as other marines began to board. The Medic stayed close to the front of the Elevator so that he could get a view around the landing area before they used the lift.

Soreta and her escorts simply stood there silently, awaiting instructions from her counterpart on the other side. Rash moves and demands wouldn't cut it with the Elysians, who valued contemplation, deliberation, and moderation...

After what seemed to the Elysian hosts to be an appropriate period of waiting in order to fully adapt to the suroundings (OOC: Not five days, that's just RL business getting in the way), a figure emerged from one of the spires. Not just any figure - standing seven foot tall, features which seemed to have been chiseled to something approaching perfection (at the same time both beautiful and cold), his head adorned with thick golden-blond hair which fell down to his shoulders and his eyes, habitually held in a analysing ever so slightly condescending look, were dark blue with flecks of darkness. He was garbed in a long silken robe with a cloak on his back, both in a subtle shade of purple - showing him to be a Senator. Behind him followed a group of five Hikael power armours, and two S6 Seraph's.

He walked forward and gave a slight bow, showing himself to be aware of Yamatai's customs if not particularly enamoured with them, and upon straightening up, spoke in perfect English - albeit with a high class accent even in a foreign language.

"You will, of course, forgive us for our slight delay. A small matter came up, the details of which do not concern you. That being said - welcome to Holy Elysia, we pray that you will enjoy your stay and that by appreciating our company as well appreciate yours we might reach a greater state of understanding and co-operation between our races. Those who have decided to have a brief sojourn to our beloved sphere separate from the diplomatic body, please follow my Seraphs. They will lead you to Hall for food, after which you will be met by the Patrician responsible for your visit." He then seamlessly slipped into Seraphim, "As for you Lady Soreta, if you would follow me we shall begin our talks the first of what I hope to be many. Unless, of course, you wish to have a tour or partake in sustenance - both of which can be easily and readily arranged."

He would enjoy watching Nepleslia crush these people. "OPEN FIRE ON THE ELYSIANS!" he shouted, hoping to jolt his fellow marines into action.

YOU'VE GOTTA BE KIDDING!! We are supposed to be here to make sure we don't get attacked by the Elysians, not commit suicide on their planet. Gran's mind screamed as he saw Mike begin his attack on the senator. His hand flew to his back pocket to where he kept his computer pad. He switched it on as he drew it, the screen flashing to life. The light reflected in his eyes as his fingers flew across it is face.

He linked to the transmitter on Mike's Water, imitating a squad transmission by copying the call-code of another marine, which he was able to get, his pad being registered to the Nepleslian military he had access to other marines call-codes. Since the computer would automatically accept a known incoming transmission, a small notice would pop up in the corner of the HUD and covertly display it as voice transmission coming from a certain "P3C Kokuten Chaiki", he quickly jumped to a folder where he had stored custom PA program sequences. "EMGCY SH-DN," the computer screen read as he hit a send button. The program was designed to cut off the computer's connections to the systems sensors and give dummy info to the computer that the power reactor's core had been cracked and an immediate shut-down was necessary. He had written this during the time between his boot camp and his stationing on the Alliance as an exercise to test how well he could insert a program into an armor.

He wasn't sure how long it would be for the program to take full effect, if it successfully infiltrated the system. He hoped for a quick response; anything longer than a minute or two could be very bad.

Sergeant Scott 'har har' Agar hadn't had that great a day. He had taken some shrapnel during the fight with the Reds on Planet X, and that night he hadn't been able to go out drinking.
And now, some little shit was trying to start a war.
"FUCK YOU, MARINE!" The scream was damned loud.
Scott moved forward quickly, raised his arm high, and brought it down on Mike's now immobile XASER rifle, his shield vaporizing half the weapon, and causing a small explosion.
Scott looked at the man's helmet, pulled back his elbow, and sent it smashing towards the man's head.

Once Scott's punch landed, Benji ducked and seized Mike's ankles, hefting the marine's PA upside down. "DAMN IT MIKE!" Benji roared at the privet over the comm. "All of us will willingly give your ass over to the Elysians RIGHT THIS MINUTE! Stop TRYING to get your ass kicked..." He took a deep breath and let the channel go quiet. With a grunt Beji held the PA in the air and gave the man a good shake. With a snort, he draped the pa over his shoulder. "Damn..." He muttered to himself "and Fian thinks I'M an asshole..."

Scott watched Benji heft the foolish marine over his shoulder.
"Get the fuck back here, Storm!"
He grabbed Mike's armor and begin trying to pull it off of Benji.
"This fucker isn't leaving this room alive! Either we do it or the Elysians do, but no way in hell will this be tolerated!"

Fian, being at the front of the marine group, was in no position to stop Mike's attack as it was performed. By the time he turned around the entire scuffle was over and the postal marine was pinned down and disabled. Quickly turning around again to face the seemingly unharmed senator, he had some damage control to perform.

Powering down his weapons, shields and sensors, the Vel Steyr took off his helmet and knelt with one hand on the floor with his head bowed. "My apologies, senator!" He shouted, loud and clear to everybody in the room. "That attack has nothing to do with the Nepleslian Empire's interest and was done on his own personal violition."

He took a deep breath, the next few words were important. "As the leader of this group, I accept full responsibilty for being careless and allowing this to happen." He curled his floored hand into a fist, as though bracing for what would happen next. "Do as you wish."

Rico lifted his head a bit as the Elysian diplomat finally presented himself, complete with a guard of armored Elysians. After a quick glance at the Senators appearance, Rico instantly knew he would not like this Elysian. He didn't pay much attention as the dignitary made his long-winded speech, attempting to ignore the parts that didn't matter to him.

However, as the events unfolded quickly before him, Rico jolted back to attention. One of the marines was firing at the Elysian. Rico instantly moved in front of Soreta, remembering that his assignment was her safety, and put a hand close to his holster. Just as quickly as it started, it was over; the marine who made the assassination attempt had been subdued. The tension of the situation, still wafting heavily in the air, was then again disturbed as Fian presented an apology to the Senator.

Rico didn't know what the think as he remained positioned in front of Soreta. He did know, though, that whatever happened in the next few moments would have his full attention.

Mike pointed at the senator. "LOOK AT HIM! HE'S NOT REAL! HE'S NOT REAL! Get off me, guys!" Mike struggled to right himself as his supposed borthers in arms turned on him in favor of the Elysian scum. The senator had survived the shot--there was no way he could have been a real Patrician, so he had to be a Seraph decoy. Nepleslia was being fooled and nobody but Mike seemed to have seen it coming. "Contact the Alliance and tell thim the senator is a fake!" he demanded.

"You listen up, you little shit! Shut the fuck up right now! The senator's still alive because you can't fucking shoot! I swear that I will bury this fucking sword in your goddamn head if you don't SHUT UP! You've doomed us all, you ass!"
A number of marines had grabbed the sergeant by now, trying to push him back.
A couple of the other marines were yelling, and one was freaking out trying to get Fian to reconsider his move to accept responsibility for Mike's actions.

...this, perhaps, may have jumpstarted my mission...but he's still a liability, isn't he? Much in contrast to the chaos around her, Soreta was quite calm...as though she had no concern for the affairs of those around her.

This man is clearly not in a condition to be serving on a starship... Despite Crosby's claims that the Patrician was a decoy, he was quite simply a lousy shot. Perhaps the memories of the plague still burn in these men...but no matter.

The marines were doing their job as best they could - chaotic determination would always, however, defeat calm, rational thought. As for Fian...he did the noble, stupid thing. Soreta thought he made a good hero.

But in any case, her action was simple - once she had a clear view of Crosby, she lowered her hand, calmy drew her Type 29, and aimed...

Her voice roared like the Valkyrie she called herself after. "This ends now."

Kokuten had kept still through most of the situation as it unfolded in front of him, he stood with the other Marines as Mike was restrained. Then, as Fian went to apologize for the mess, the Medic moved forward and got down next to the Marine.

"Eh, it must be paranoia brought on by the stress of the mission. We should probably put a few sedatives in him to call him down." Kokuten said on squad channel observing the crazy Crosby, looking behind and down to dig around into his small makeshift case of medical supplies. As he sifted through them, Soreta made her outburst, but among the chaos of the marines and his mind focused on finding the correct sedatives, he barely heard her.

After realizing what Soreta was doing behind him, Rico turned himself and quickly shot out a hand to lightly grasp the gun and pull its aim away from the group of marines. Rico shot Soreta a disparaging glare as he did so, his gaze flitting constantly between her and the Elysian envoy.

"THAT," Rico said in a rather loud voice, before lowing his tone, "...isn't the best thing to do right now. We got it under control. You do your job, you let us do ours sweetheart."

The shot had in fact rung true, but the figure now slowly eased himself off the floor - with a sizable hole in his chest. Feeling slowly around the hole with his fingers he began to speak, "I am afraid your sociopath comrade is in fact correct, I am not the true Senator Laurael. For the sake of securing this body is that of a S17, controlled by the mind of my Lord. I hope you will forgive the deception, but I believe this event shows that the measure was not entirely unnecessary. I applaud your fast action to counter the mad-man, and assure you that your nation will not be judged on his actions - we are not barbarians. The only question that remains before we continue with the diplomatic proceedings is under whose jurisdiction this felon falls?"

The Senator controlled S17 responded in the smooth tones or one trained in the art of oratory,

"On the other hand he is on Elysian soil, perpetrating an illegal attack on an Elysian civilian (or at least who he thought was an Elysian civilian, and it is intent that matters) and, as he is separate from the diplomatic party, is not covered by diplomatic immunity. You would understand our concern that he is to be suitably punished."

“Indeed, However in a fair trial you would be able to charge him with attempted murder, reckless endangerment, and some other minor charges but we can add treason, insubordination, and avoid a public backlash over letting a marine be tried by Elysians.” Wazu said quickly before taking a deep breath.

He mentally cursed himself once he realized what he was doing. He reminded himself that these people weren’t marines and he couldn’t be the same person when talking with them.

“I am sorry. I should have apologized for his actions sooner.” The tone of his voice had been changed considerably, his words came out slower and smoother than his previously short tone. “I understand that you do not trust us to treat him as a criminal, after all the actions here do not reflect well on our credibility. However, I can assure you that we will be treating this matter very seriously. The marine in question will not be getting off with a slap on the wrist.”

Watching the goings on from where he was holding Mike, Benji watched Wazu. He decided the man had some gutts, unlike himself, and then decided to do something about it. With a glare at Mike, even though the man couldn't see it, he pulled up a comm with Fian. "I'll take Mike back to the ship, Sarge..." and then he keyed off the privet channel and on his external speakers he told Wazu the same exact thing.

"...Senator." Soreta spoke up after a time in Seraphim, having sheathed her weapon after the chaos subsided. Despite her usually calm demeanor, her face showed visible disappointment at not getting a shot or two off.

"The officer that just spoke means what he said. If nothing else, he's...thorough. In any case, I will instruct the Nepleslians to give you custody of the body once he's executed." Presumptuous, but that would be the standard military protocol for such a serious breach of conduct, on a diplomatic mission no less...

The Senator gave a small bow and a smile,

"Do not worry, I understand that this man has placed you in a difficult position, and that your people would see a Nepleslian national being tried by my people as a point of national outrage. Furthermore I welcome your offer of the mans corpse after execution, it will do much to salve the concerns that my fellow senators will share - however I must ask one last thing. In order to provide confidence from my people, and to ensure that justice and reason are followed (forgive me but my people do not believe yours to be paragons of those virtues) I would request that a representative of the Elysian government oversees the diplomatic proceedings. A near formality I assure you."

Fian solemmly stood up and re-fitted his gear. With a small nod he affirmed Kokuten's decision. The Vel Steyr didnt know if what he did influenced the outcome of the life or death situation earlier, but thank god it was life. Kokuten replied Fian's nod with his own as he pulled out a sedative, something that would calm Mike down greatly until the mission was over. It would keep him subdued long enough at least for the group that was to take him out of here. With a little direction from the other marines, he was able to remove the mans arm plate. After that extended excursion, he picked up the booster shot.

"Alright Marine, your're going to feel a sharp pain." Kokuten said, putting the shot to the mans neck. "Now, relax, chill..." He looked up at the Marines, "And for shi-...er... heavens sake, keep him away from any weapons!"

During all the commotion, no one had thoguht to check Mike's bag full of explosives. Inside, a timer continued to count down...it would reach zero any second. The explosion wouldn't hurt the marines in their power armors much, but it would be more than enough to kill any unarmored person within 20 meters.

"I have to get to my bag!" Mike said, still struggling. If he turned off the bomb, maybe they'd give him a lighter sentence. He didn't know why he hated Elysians so much, it was almost like it had been programmed into his instincts.

Scott stood shaking with anger about what had happened. The damned marine had almost started a war. He honestly wished the Soreta lady had taken the shot.
He heard a light beeping noise. What the hell is that?
Scott looked around and his eyes came to rest on a bag. The one Mike had brought with him...
"THAT STUPID FUCKER BROUGHT A BOMB!!"
Scott charged forward, hearing the beeping grow ever louder. He reached down and scooped it up with his arm. He pulled back, and threw.

The bag exploded in midair some ways away from them. The blast annihilated the beautiful stained glass in the room, and the marines closer to the blast saw their shields crackle. A bit of the concussion no doubt reached the diplomats, but not enough to harm them.

Scott stared, wide-eyed at the massive blast. He shook a bit as it subsided. He turned towards the crowd of marines holding Mike down.
There was no doubt in his mind that Mike would get quite the sentencing. And quite the horrific torture and execution.

Scott glared at the mass of marines surrounding Mike. He roared in anger and charged forward. Pushing through the numerous marines, he grabbed the man, ripping him away from Kokuten. If Mike tried to resist, the fact his armor wasn't running would have made it rather impossible.

"GOT ANY OTHER SURPRISES, ASSHOLE?! TELL ME RIGHT THE FUCK NOW! IF YOU SURPRISE ME AGAIN I SWEAR I WILL SHOVE YOUR BALLS DOWN YOUR THROAT!"
The sergeant was pissed, and if he didn't get a good answer, he just may follow through on his threat. After, all this guy had put him, his family, and his entire nation under threat of a massive war.

The senator looked calmly over that debatacle as well, including adjusting his posture in a highly non-chalent way. The hole in his chest was quickly being replaced with organic matter.

"I should now hope that the charges of vandalism as well as another attempted murder should be leveled against your comrade. I was rather fond of that mirror, and the man who crafted it was killed in the last war. Tell me, does the Nepleslian judicial system including providing compenation for crimes?" The senator of course knew the answer, but he was enjoying this situation enormously. However he really did like that window, although what he had not said was that that window was a molecular copy of the original. He was not, of course, lying.

"...this marine...his gods guide him poorly." Soreta was anything but monotheistic...something which the Elysians would consider heresy, but it was still a step above the percieved godlessness of Nepleslia and the personality cults of Yamatai. "Luckily, the rest of the crew generally is a lot smarter than to do such a thing to your people. Things should go smoothly in our negotiations, Senator."

Soreta's hand went to her holster as she spoke her next words. "I'll make sure of it."

Gran had sighed softly, switching his pad off and stuffing it in his back pocket, but he was still surprised at the second set of events that unfolded. He groaned audibly and hung his head, his hands pulling lightly at his hair. He was trying to be as civil as he possibly could, but his patience wore thin. Definitely the WRONG foot to get off on...

He looked back up and stood at attention near Soreta, straightening his uniform slightly. He took in Soreta and the Senator's conversation, mentally trying to place the value of the shattered window, definitely more than he would make in a long time. But his gaze traveled from the window down to Soreta as she spoke that last sentence.

Oh god... He thought she was going to personally deal with the more than rowdy marine. His hand raised slightly, but hesitated from stopping her, he knew she had lots of experience in diplomatic relations and that made him doubt himself: if she was going to such drastic measures, was she in the right because it is her job and she obviously had lots of experience? His mind wrestled, his hand half-reaching to stop Soreta.

Benji watched the proceedings and then when dinner was mentioned his eyes turned to the Senator's assistant and he studied the elysian. A thought sprang to his mind I wonder if we could screw some of the elysian women... He turned rather all warm and fuzzy and his cheeks turned a bright red. He was glad nobody else could see his reaction to his privet thoughts.

With a soft sigh he switched over from his music to the marine's comm channel. "Dose anybody know if elysian air is breathable?" Sure a stupid question but he'd like it better if he could acctually SEE with his own eyes, instead of the disorienting monoeyes and all the fancy gadgets on the suit. The breathability of the air brought up yet again his last thought and he was plagued by an urge, and not the urge to take a badly needed piss either.

The Medic's mind seemed to already leave the previous disaster as the mission began to come back into steady pace. He put away his medical supplies and decided to wait on Fians order. Kokuten looked around at the other marines in the group. His duty reminded him that he needed to make sure that these marines were in good condition.

"Hey, do the rest of you guys feel normal? Feeling edgy, a little dizzy, or maybe even a little reckless? I want to make sure that Crosby's case was just his own intentions, not something physically or mentally hindering." The Medic threw out on the squad channel.

At the senator's offer, Soreta took his arm and beckoned her guards to her side. "Indeed, Laurael. There has been far too much excitement, and we should make sure that we don't see an incident like that again."

As the pair slowly walked away, the geshrin looked back at the Alliance crew with an enigmatic smile, knowing that the Writers were watching them, giving them the gift of free will in a universe mostly dominated by mindless pawns. That ship will go far in this world...who knows? Maybe Nepleslia will match Yamatai soon enough. Certainly something worth living to see.

In any case, my role is not yet over...I still have my part to play here, and it is not my time to go.

Fian raised an eyebrow as everything suddenly turned back to normal. The Elysians could have just vapourized himself, the whole diplomatic envoy, the Alliance and maybe the whole of Nepleslia for that Crosby incident. But hey, they didnt. The Vel Steyr blinked a few times to make sure what he was seeing is true.

Quote:
"Hey, do the rest of you guys feel normal?"

"More than that." Fian said while streching his arms. "Someone call the Alliance and tell them what happened. Have them send down a shuttle to pick up Crosby, we can leave our armors on it too."

After a long string of 'what the hell's and expletives from the rest of the company, Fian waved his hand to silence the marines.

"We have more or less proved that our weapons are not going to help the diplomatic talks in the previous incident. In fact, it will probably go more smoothly if we were less armed. Armors or not, the Elysians have this place pretty much locked down and there is nothing we can do about it."

"What we CAN do, however. Is to be good guests and take advantage of our good senator's offer of food. Just as they have shown how honest they are with this negotiations by not wiping the floor with us, we can do the same."

Fian took off his helmet and inhaled a lungfull of slightly scented Elysian air. After a few seconds of holding his breath, he slowly exhaled.

"I feel good, actually..." He trailed off, answering the Medic's question.

Benji watched Fian and when the man took off his helment and didn't die straight off the bat, he remembered that several others icluding Soreta and Wazu hadn't been wearing PA's and had done fine. Without so much as another thought he also pulled his helmet off and cautiously gave a sniff of elysian air and found he rather liked the smell. It was an improvement over some of the smells on good ol' Terra Firma.

Just then his stomach grumbled and he let a brief flicker of 'awww-shyt' run across his face before it sent back to being rather emotionless. He took another breath of air and then looked over at Kokuten "Yeah Koku, I'm fine... hungry, but..." he gave a slight shrug that was barely apparent because of the armor.

Wazu followed the Nepleslian guards near Soretta, limping in step with them as they left the area near the armored marine detail.

The Marines would eventually be led to the food which the Senator-Seraph had promised through the lifts and staircases in the towers of the visitor’s center where they would be met by the present smells of freshly cooked food. The large banquet hall had a high arching roof colored with stain glass as an artificial skyline was projected on the other side of the glass. Below that was a thick rug on the floor which depicted various Elysian accomplishments and held on it a smooth S shaped table filled with exotic foods from their empire. They had even gone through the trouble to acquire some Nepleslian foods including two boxes of Anti-Matter-Os and a half dozen Neppies 2 pound stim burgers. Around the sides of the room were rounded tables with smooth, flowing chairs, a few of which were occupied by other visitors.

“Feel welcome to eat at our table,” Their Elysian guide said, “Another will be with you shortly to answer any questions you might have. I am afraid my duties require that I be elsewhere at the moment.” With that, she headed for a service door which was well decorated and blended into the smooth painted walls that bounded the room.

Beji took a glance about the room and with the twitch of one of his eye brows he took notice of the neppie burgers and stomach gave another grumble. Careful not to run into anything in his bulky PA he walked over to the table and picked himself up something to eat, including a fefw forgien foods and then took to leaning against a wall away from most of the other visitors.

He slowly scarfed down the stim burger and nibbled at the elysian foods, finding what he liked and what just tasted funny. Dispite looking like he was enjoying himself, he kept an eye out for touble. It had been drilled into him eversince he'd been to the military academy. After a bit he popped his helm back on and pulled up a virtual copy of one of his books and took the chance to read and keep an eye on his HUD to see waht was going on around him.

The burgers from Neppies had trouble written all over them. It had recently been added to the wrapping and other packaging to try and give the burgers a more edgy look as part of the campaign to capitalize on the planet side violence.

The HUD would highlight for him the goings on nearby, the location of the hidden light sources, an buff looking Elysian girl entering the room with a tray of Stim burgers, and one of the other guests who was female but not Elysian whom seemed busy watching the other people in the room rather than eating the fish fillet that lay in front of her. The heavily armed marines seemed to prompt a group which had been sitting in the corner to get up and leave, heading for a lift on the other side of the room rather than exiting toward the marines themselves.

It took a laggy few seconds for the marine to notice that things were going on around him. He noted the page number and then closed out of it. he looked at the elysian and then at the other woman. Instinct took over and his fingers casually shifted to his hip, lingering just above his hip. He shifted his weight off the wall and when the minor details started to piss him off he complained to Fian about it. "Fian..." He said, not quite sure.... "I think something's going up..." he said and then reported what all his HUD had picked up and identified for him. After a minute he murmured "I think I need a breath of fresh air, who's with me?"

Kokuten nodded when found that all the other Marines seemed to be fine. He followed suit with Fian and Benji, removing his own helmet, revealing the medic's head. His face showed obvious signs of excitement, the LED's on his eyes assumed a blue color for the moment, his hair seemed unkept from being crushed under his helmet, his small beard frazzled. He placed his helmet under his arm and proceeded after the rest of the guys into the dining hall.

The medic looked around, seeing the brilliant architecture that surrounded them. He turned as he walked towards the S-shaped table, he looked down at all the Elysian foods and noted the Anti-Matter-Os and burgers.

I can eat burgers and Anti-Matter-Os whenever I want, now is time for some exotic food.

He rubbed his armored hands together as the thought went through his mind. He walked over to the table and picked of a plate to put the foods on. The Medic was careful to try and fit one of anything on his plate, just to try it. He looked around at the other Marines, some seemed relunctant at trying the Elysian food as readily as Kokuten did. Benji, seemingly unnerved by what was before him and his surroundings, put his mind to going outside. The Medic could only shake his head to that comment, food seemed to taste a great deal better than fresh air. Sitting down, Kokuten tried to pay no mind to the other guests as he went ahead to eat. He had hoped that maybe they would just ignore the tall 7'2" armored man that sat next to them.

This would probably give truth to the Nepleslian's feeling to the Elysians, if someone would look at his actions closely. He had mostly ignored the Elysian people, only to admire their art. The Medic thought them as bad people with good tastes. Of course, he had never really met with an Elysian, sat down, and talked to one, but that's stereotyping for you. One of his pet peeves was just being looked down on; While it could be put aside by any other person, Kokuten couldn't barely stand it. As he ate, he wondered how long it would be before one commented on his lack of manners, how he seemed to put down the food so quickly, or even his eyes. While he enjoyed the trip and the sights so far, he kept in mind how long it would be before one of them would say something to ruin it.

Fian eyed the people leaving the room until they have disappeared from sight. After taking a quick look around the room, he deduced that there isnt anything fifteen marines cant take care of.

"Well then, looks like they are giving us some privacy." The P2C said, stepping forward to take a plate. "Eat up boys, this one is on Elysia."

He then took a few pieces of the Elysian food, sat down and then nibbled them slowly in a vast contrast to Kokuten that was directly next to him. The subtle morsels were equally in contrast of the hard and fast Nepleslian food he was used to. Ocassionally he would look up to give the unknown female a glance to find out who and what she was but then casually turned back at his serving if she looked back.

Well this sure is a fancy slop hole..err..mess hall John thought to himself as he briefly look around then got down to business. He went down the long S shaped table, getting an ample supply of flatware and then collecting any morsel that looked even vaguely appetizing, and as he finished herding together the array of deliciousness, a thought crossed his mind.

I wonder if they would?...

He glanced around, making sure the Elysian’s eyes were looking elsewhere, and scanned the two plates of food with his suits mono-eyes, hoping the suits systems would be adequate enough to detect any poisons.

“I’m hungry for food, but not enough to die for it.”
He muttered to himself before the display scrolled across his HUD saying the food was okay. He then moved over to one of the small round tables, setting his food down and cracking his helmet open, and taking a seat among a few other marines.
John dug into the feast, sampling a few neppies as well as the more exotic elysian dishes.

“To bad Crosby hauled off and went crazy back there, eh boys? He missed this feast here.” John chuckled as he dug into another odd colored elysian dish. In his mind though, he had been going over the events just minutes prior. He could understand the Elysians wanting to use a double, but for Mike to get so worked up over it…. He rubbed his forehead a little as he bit down on a chunk of meat, trying to lose that nagging feeling that maybe mike was onto something.

He then felt a rumbling in his lower torso, and grew concerned over a repeat of the incident in the Alliance’s mess hall. He quickly got up, not even excusing himself from the other marines, and walked quickly out to where he had seen the other marines go. Not wanting to draw attention to himself, he watched his pace, and as soon as he had reached an open area, let loose the noxious cloud of death that was sure to pollute Elysia’s pristine air for years if not decades to come.

“Oh gods that felt good’ he exclaimed as he leaned back against a wall.

Benji paced lightly, the boots of his PA making tracks in the carpet which he was sure the elysians weren't going to like. To keep himself from one of his rare outbursts of anger he turned his music back on and then ditifuly stalked over to where he could lean against a wall and stare, rudely no doubt, at the non-elysian woman before him. Good thing he had his helm on or he'd surely be reminded not to stare.

After deciding the woman wasn't going to try to murder him, not like she could while he was all suited up, he walked over and took a seat next to her. He said nothing, but kept an eye on her. "Anything else you wana point out HUD?" he murmured to himself. Then it came to him and lhe let out a sigh, wanting to bash his head on something. Great, he was talking to his Armor now. What would it be next? Sweeping the woman next to him off her feet and marrying her?!

A few of those who were still wearing their armors also voiced their dislike of being in this room, though as one marine noted, “Where would you rather go numbnuts? We are on an Elysian planet.”

The female in question leaned back in her chair as Benji sat down and merely said, “Curious?” without taking her eyes off the crowd or turning them toward the Marine that had just sat down at the table with her. She had dark green hair which looked almost black and was pulled into a ponytail that hung down behind her head while the rest of her body was covered by a form fitting black bodysuit with a plunging neckline which just so happened to be accentuating the curves of her body. At this distance Benji’s HUD would highlight her as a weapon, though the bodysuit left real places where one could be hidden.

At the time, Kokuten kept mostly to himself as he tasted the delicious food. The Elysians had good tastes indeed, still a bunch of bird brains, but damn good food. He noted the shorter Fian sit next to him, he only nodded to the P2C with a mouth to full to speak. Though as he consumed what was in front of him, he noticed that Fian's attention would go up to the female in the room. He leaned over to the P2C next to him.

"Something caught your interest?" The Medic asked.

Once the meal seemed over an Elysian aide entered the room, "Once you have finished the meal I would value a discussion over what activity you next wish to indulge in. Our society values input and discussion over authority and tyrany." The aide gave a small smile, "I assure you that this center is equipped to take care of almost all of your needs."
