RP: NSS Sledge Mama [NSS Sledge Mama] Ep. 2 - Forged

"I'm on it." Mark mumbled, swinging his rifle in Richard's direction firing short controlled bursts. "Hey greens." He yelled over the gun fire, "I never thought I'd have to save your hides." Mark slowly started to maneuver around Richard hoping to gain some sort of positional advantage to aid the marine more efficiently while limiting his own susceptibility to attacking mishu.

Richard made the mistake of relaxing after managing to detonate the charge properly, in the commotion he thankfully avoided getting hit by the fleeing crab, but he missed his chance at catching the large group of Mishhu with the missiles like he was planning before the brute showed up. He turned around however not wanting to put his back to the Mishhu that were flooding in and began firing as he moved his way back to get into formation. The new marines breaking in were a welcome surprise however, especially the support fire he was getting. He smirked under his helmet as a bit of an idea came to him now and he tried to use his fire to force the three juveniles to clump together before he fired off a missile in their direction.

Delmar had been standing in the center-left as the door was blown. The Money Shot beat on his chest as he and the guy next to him turned a Mish into a piggy bank. A red glow formed around end if the barrel from the hot streams of molten metal tore into the creature's face. Even with the fact that he'd just been reassigned from a dangerous covert mission to being thrown into the grinder he couldn't help but feel happy to pump the monsters full of the mystery metal that the two men never gave the chance to cool down.

Sergeant O'niell began moving forward with both shoulder mounted chainguns ablaze. If any of them dared to get close the battle hardened Marine was perfectly ready to cut it in half with a spray of molten tungsten.

Max burst through the opening, shouting as he did over the comms; "HELLO BOYS AND GIRLS CAVALRY IS HERE!!!!" A quick scan of the room showed lots of little red dots scurrying in on his HUD towards a few green dots, one on his own. Not wanting to be left out of the action, Max quickly leveled up and fired his HPAR at the group closest to the isolated marine on the flank marked Swayer in his HUD. "Laying down cover!" he shouted, moving up to position to start plugging the gaps in the formation, and starting putting holes in his enemies.

Sawyer scrambled back to his feet and began firing while moving back towards the rest of his squadmates. 'At least that one didn't manage to punch through' he thought to himself and kept any of his other thoughts to himself. He set his PLA arrays to engage the juveniles as well, hoping the the lasers would at the least blind the little monsters to enable the others to engage them more easily.

The explosive entry of the other marines quickly sent the Mishhu swarm scattering as the Aggressor lead the charge.

Mark's shots cut through the group bearing down on Richard as they darted away in. Richard's burst of fire chased after one of them as it rapidly slid through the air, weaving in and out of the fleshy overgrowth - the young marine watched between flickers of his rifle's muzzle as the rest slipped away; the mini-missile he launched arced out, chasing after the straggler before they both exploded in a blast of fiery gore which splattered and bubbled against his armor. Following his sensors, Max quickly rounded on Sawyer expecting to shoot the contacts practically on the other marine, but only managed to catch a glimpse of the immature monsters as they swam into the darkness. The HPAR in his hands shook, lighting up the night in front of him with it's harsh shine as he tried to hit it, but cast deathly shadows which jumped and shifted at each and every shot he took like twisted, nightmarish animals. Sawyer managed to get up with the breathing room Max gave him, rising to fire his weapons. With their attention shifted to the latecomers, the light, anti-armor lasers of his suit lanced out and cast the entire area in a hellish light for a blink as chitinous plates were vaporized, a horrific screeching squeal of pain etching itself into their ears.

Emboldened by their retreat, O'Neil pushed hard before a massive black shadow slammed into him, the air cracking from the massive blow. His firearm knocked aside from the impact, the chainguns on his suit started firing point blank into the thick, armored hide as he fought for purchase and sunk his feet into the fleshy floor, grabbing its shell. Bellowing, he pushed back against the wounded Crab type and began pushing it back, lifting it off it's forelegs - just as tentacles lashed out and impaled the marine in every major joint of the suit. Blood spurting out of his neck, armpits and groin from the huge blades, the marine fell without a single word. They could all see, in the briefest of moments that most of the armor on its right side was slagged by the earlier explosion, the alloy plate looking like it had been blasted and then melted off of its body like wax against a torch, while the hard shell underneath was consumed by fire, exposing a good footwide hole into its innards.

This Crab wasn't just mature, with poison of the deadliest type, but also wounded. And angrier than hell.

Like a Rhino, the massive monster moved like lightning through the dim light and literally smashed itself into the new arrivals with its bulk, sending them flying in all directions before bearing down on Max, tentacles lashing out to grab him as it moved in for the kill! Four of the immature Mishhu swam through the dark like it was water, flittering in between cover as they went straight for one of the stunned marines laying face down. Turning to look over his shoulder as he fought to get up, Mark saw them closing in, fast! At the same time, six more started coming out of the woodwork and worked their way towards the first group of beleaguered marines to draw their fire and move in. Sawyer was still the one closest to them, but he managed to close ranks fast enough they couldn't tear him away and kill him - instead, they circled the soldiers and feinted mad rushes before veering away to safety. Firing at the evasive monsters, Richard's drum magazine suddenly ran dry mid-burst as the rifle clicked empty.

"SHIT, SARGE IS DOW-," Mark managed to yell before he was sent sprawling onto his stomach by something large smashing into him. He lost his rifle during the impact and was trying to get up when he noticed four red blips on his radar rapidly approaching him from behind. Mark quickly grabbed his SMG and spun around; firing a volley of missiles in their direction and frantically shooting the SMG praying to Mars that he would at least take a couple of the bastards down before he wound up like O'Neil. "What kind of clusterfuck did we get we get ourselves into here?" He asked to no one in particular.

Richard swore under his breath at seeing the sarge go down like that, he signed up to keep himself from losing his head and now he was in a full scale conflict. Perhaps the tension of the situation was getting to him, he wasted too many bullets and his primary weapon ran dry. He didn't have a spare magazine for it. He was left with no choice but to discard his rifle and pull out the LSP and warm up the PLA systems. Now that he was at his secondary weapons though he decided to mainly fire with the laser array as he moved to cover the troops that got knocked around by the crab before the juveniles could get to them.

As he attempted to stand his ground, several shots from his laser array were fired in alternating burst to keep the frequency high. The LSP only rang out when he could get a clear look at his target, or in response to the Mishhu suddenly closing in.

Sawyer continued to take careful aim at the retreating juveniles, using as few shots as needed to drop one of the creatures at a time until he could get a clear shot at the hole in the wounded Crab-type's side with a volley of rounds, if he couldn't hit it then he'd continue to eliminate the creature's support with well aimed bursts and blasts from his PLA arrays.

"Come at me ya stupid sons of bi-"

Delmar was almost stunned to see O'Neill brutally killed but always had a feeling he'd end up dead. The ID-SOL was skilled and valiant but reckless. As the crab-type made its charge Delmar primed his his fusion thrusters as he prepared to evade.

As it arrived he made a rocket propelled, inertia assisted leap over the hulking beast, clipping its edge which spun him out if control. He landed roughly on his back relatively close to what was left of O'Neill to be greeted by the incoming juveniles. His rifle would have been up in a flash but his martial arts training had a different idea. As the Mish launched at him leading with its tentacles Delmar drew the vibrosaw knife from his chest and made a slash at the deadly appendages as he skillfully rolled clear of the attack.

Back on his feet another one came from his left like a killer squid which he greeted with a burst of his PLAs, stopping it as it instinctively put the tentacles up to protect its face. It didn't help as the vibrosaw tore into its underside and began evicerating it Delmar rotated the normally floating creature onto its back pinned under his boot. Its friend who'd lost most of its tentacles was appearently coming back to save its comrade but only met streams of molten metal as the criminal commando used the tractor beam emitter on his waist to pull his rifle back to him where he caught it with his left hand and sprayed the wounded alien.

As it dropped his radar spotted another coming fast from behind, too fast for Delmar to react. It slammed into his right side, catapulting him two meters and launching his HPAR airborne at the original group of Marines. It sailed quickly towards him again ready to finish off it's opponent but Delmar had landed next to something that would change the game.

The creature must have known what it was as it tried desperately to stop. A spray of molten tungsten tore through the Mishhuvurthyar.
Hurting from the fight he forced himself back onto his feet and racked the shotgun, a spend 4 gauge shell being ejected from the left barrel's chamber. A glance at his radar told him he was somewhere between the two main groups. With his CGD he flew back to his deactivated knife and pulled it from the gutted enemy, holding it backhanded as he prepared for the next enemy to come for him as he surveyed the battlefield that was the interior of the ship.

He spotted the Marine the guys on the right had been covering and flew to the soldier his HUD identified as 'Magnus' to assist him. Without clear directive from his recently deceased sergeant he had only one objective at this point.
Survive.

Lisa saw the clusterfuck happening around the platoon. Or bits of several platoons at the moment. The reinforcements charging in like that were a good thing, except for the crab suddenly getting their NCO. Lisa cursed and moved to the side to support Ylfa. She heard marines shouting in disbelief as their sarge was pierced by tentacles and killed. That was bad thing, sure the charging NCO, bolstered their morale at first, but when he got killed it did right the other thing. Dead NCO often menat dead Platoon.

"Calm the fuck down!" Lisa shouted into the comms. "We can retrieve his brain spider later, focus fire. The crab is wounded, we need to finish it off!" With that she raised her rifle and started firing the HPAR and the bundles of tentacles that the crab used. At the moment it was its deadliest weapon. One good stab could mean dead marine, because of the poison. Lisa decided to take its fangs away.

Max was made very aware of the new threat when it tossed him across the room like a ragdoll. The strength of the crab was impressive considered his armor weighed 2 tons on its own. Still the most shocking part of the battle was when the sarge went down. While the other marines despaired, Max was filled with rage. Realizing that the crab had turned his attentions on him, and with no intention on being its next victim, Max did what any Marine would do. Fire EVERYTHING!!

While working his way away from the Crab-type, Max warmed up his PLAs and lashed out at the crabs tenticales with his lasers. While it was unlikely to blow them off, it would certainly annoy them enough that they might not instantly impale him. While his lasers worked, Max spotted the weakness in the enemy armor thanks to his HUD. Aiming his HPAR at the spot, he fired in short semi-controlled bursts. While Max knew that he had to keep his cool if he wanted to survive this fight and the calmer he was, the better his aim, given his situation, every shot counted. He just hoped he managed to secure enough distance away and close with his squad before the crab got him.

Mark's near-panicked fire lit up the room like tracer fire into the night, frantically chasing after one before the stream of flaming metal slashed across it's chitinous hide. Depleted uranium rounds pierced the thick plates and punched through, splattering the fleshy walls with bits of gore before piercing them as well, the holes weeping red blood. The mini-missiles he fired doggedly chased down their prey, turning them into fried giblets as they exploded. But the fourth - it bore right down on him! A powerful force suddenly yanked him clear, his two ton armor skidding over the slippery, sanguine soaked floor before his executioner was shredded in a hail of fire.

"Cover each other, you f*ing dipshits!" Ylfa yelled, her Push-Pull Guard buying him precious seconds.

Having been smashed clear and out of sight by the monstrous crab earlier, she was practically back from the dead and with a rib-crushing dent in her chestplate. Firing her rifle one handed, the Sergeant quickly grabbed the fallen Marine and started to pull him up onto his feet as Richard covered the two. "There's dead - get their rifles if you two got the time to panic!" she angrily snapped at the marines. Wounded, her eyes quickly darted over the entire situation behind th Hostile's monoeye like a feral animal. "Richard, at Sawyer's group! Pull them in with your PPG and shoot the shit out of them!" The marine and two others had held off the half dozen Mishhu as their defenses were probed, but neither side managed to make progress. But with Richard coming in, he could break the encirclement and get Sawyer and the others back into the game.

As the woman barked out more orders, the Crab Mishhu's tentacles flailed out at Max to finish him off - both his lasers and Lisa's cut them down fast, the best howling in rage as only one of them managed to bounce off against the marine's helmet. Rearing back, it slammed its forelegs down, Max barely rolling away from the first blow, only for the second to come down as one of the legs smashed into his left bicep, the heavy Nerimium armor starting to crumple and crush his arm. Suffering and agony lanced through the limb as the bone broke and flesh was pulverized, rendering it useless until the suit injected painkillers just a few moments later - though he was crippled, the suit he wore wasn't. Molten alloy from Lisa's continuing rifle fire began to heap onto all the rest already there and slow down the beast as it reared up for another attack!

"Delmar, get that cannon on the crab already!"

"Delmar, get that cannon on the crab already!"

Every control surface on his armor deployed as his plasma jets cut out. He threw himself backwards into a sort of backflip and fired up the just once more. Now headed back towards the Crab-type he adjusted the arc of his flight path to. Lead him straight for the gaping wound on the Crab's side and punched it.

Given the short distance it didn't take long to clear the gap and line up on it. Just before slamming into the wound Delmar reoriented himself for a flying kick. With his push-pull device locked on to the Crab he decelerated just before he impacted but only enough to keep himself from injury as the tractor beam emitters pulled him tight to the shell. He shoved the shotgun as far into the flesh as he could and loosed both barrels of molten tungsten.

"On it c-...Roger!" He had to stop himself, almost having called Ylfa coach. Seeing that a good number of the marines he was trying to cover did not get up, he grabbed one of their rifles and quickly headed over to Sawyer, putting his SMG away as he moved. Once he was in a good range he activated his push pull plating, pulling one of the Mishuu towards him as he fired two quick three round burst at it while it was still confused by the sudden shift in momentum. He stepped to the side after finishing his shots and continued his approach, not wanting to slow down and immediately getting started on the next one.

Lisa kept firing her rifle with one hands, hopping to Ylfa and grabbing the marine along with Sarge nad helping him get on his feet. She then moved to some cover again, checking the images sent to her by her drone. She dropped the mag of HPAR and reloaded it, she then leant out and kept firing at the Crab, shotting at this eyes to keep it hindered as much as possible.

"Thanks for the help." Mark quietly said to the two marines that set him back on his feet. Although it angered him slightly that the sargent had pulled him away from the mishu when he felt he could clearly of handled it, there was no way he was going to let them know that. You shouldn't anger people that are just trying to help. Mark ran to cover, scooping up the nearest rifle from a dead marine, and started firing at the crab. "God damn, that marine got some balls on him." He said into the comm when he saw Delmar pressing himself against the crab.

A Mishhu dove in at Richard from the side, only to be hit by an invisible hammer and sent flying back. Briefly stunned and with its attack stopped cold, it quickly turned and darted for cover, only to be yanked back into his rifle sights before being torn to shreds under a hail of liquid metal. Using their Push-Pull guard like this - stopping attackers cold and grabbing runners - Richard and Sawyer fended off the assault as several of the immature aliens dropped dead. Less than a dozen meters away, Lisa watched as Delmar put his power armor through its paces; despite weighting tons, its powerful thrusters could make it move! Just as the Crab was about to finish off Max, the thunder and roar of thrusters flying right over the alien wasn't lost on it - the monstrosity suddenly threw itself to the side and rolled over the moment he got close!

The cannon fired as the two collided, sparks and metal flying as the shot missed its mark, smashing into slagged armor and chitinous plate underneath. His suit closing in around him, crushing the wind out of his lungs as the entire mass of the giant monster passed over the man, the Crab stopped his attack in its tracks and completely winded him. Only to let out a screeching howl in pain - the shot still dug into weakened hide, and Lisa's gunfire gouged out several of its eyes. As the fire poured on, hot, molten metal splashed over it and cooled, slowing it down more and more. But even then, it saw who had blinded it, and made to bull-rush Lisa and bring her down with it!

"Pour the fire on! Bring that bastard down!" Ylfa yelled, laying down a stream of suppressing fire to fend off the remaining young and give the marines the time they needed.

Sawyer started ripping off well aimed bursts at the Crab type's legs, his intent was to immobilize it in order to halt its pellmell charge at Lisa or to draw its attention away from the others in the squad.

Mark fired bursts at the Crab type's injured eyes and launched a volley of ARROWS at its wounded side; attempting to slow down or halt the it to give Lisa time to get out of the way. "This bitch just refuses to die doesn't it!" He shouted over the gunfire.
