The explosive entry of the other marines quickly sent the Mishhu swarm scattering as the Aggressor lead the charge.
Mark's shots cut through the group bearing down on Richard as they darted away in. Richard's burst of fire chased after one of them as it rapidly slid through the air, weaving in and out of the fleshy overgrowth - the young marine watched between flickers of his rifle's muzzle as the rest slipped away; the mini-missile he launched arced out, chasing after the straggler before they both exploded in a blast of fiery gore which splattered and bubbled against his armor. Following his sensors, Max quickly rounded on Sawyer expecting to shoot the contacts practically on the other marine, but only managed to catch a glimpse of the immature monsters as they swam into the darkness. The HPAR in his hands shook, lighting up the night in front of him with it's harsh shine as he tried to hit it, but cast deathly shadows which jumped and shifted at each and every shot he took like twisted, nightmarish animals. Sawyer managed to get up with the breathing room Max gave him, rising to fire his weapons. With their attention shifted to the latecomers, the light, anti-armor lasers of his suit lanced out and cast the entire area in a hellish light for a blink as chitinous plates were vaporized, a horrific screeching squeal of pain etching itself into their ears.
Emboldened by their retreat, O'Neil pushed hard before a massive black shadow slammed into him, the air cracking from the massive blow. His firearm knocked aside from the impact, the chainguns on his suit started firing point blank into the thick, armored hide as he fought for purchase and sunk his feet into the fleshy floor, grabbing its shell. Bellowing, he pushed back against the wounded Crab type and began pushing it back, lifting it off it's forelegs - just as tentacles lashed out and impaled the marine in every major joint of the suit. Blood spurting out of his neck, armpits and groin from the huge blades, the marine fell without a single word. They could all see, in the briefest of moments that most of the armor on its right side was slagged by the earlier explosion, the alloy plate looking like it had been blasted and then melted off of its body like wax against a torch, while the hard shell underneath was consumed by fire, exposing a good footwide hole into its innards.
This Crab wasn't just mature, with poison of the deadliest type, but also wounded. And angrier than hell.
Like a Rhino, the massive monster moved like lightning through the dim light and literally smashed itself into the new arrivals with its bulk, sending them flying in all directions before bearing down on Max, tentacles lashing out to grab him as it moved in for the kill! Four of the immature Mishhu swam through the dark like it was water, flittering in between cover as they went straight for one of the stunned marines laying face down. Turning to look over his shoulder as he fought to get up, Mark saw them closing in, fast! At the same time, six more started coming out of the woodwork and worked their way towards the first group of beleaguered marines to draw their fire and move in. Sawyer was still the one closest to them, but he managed to close ranks fast enough they couldn't tear him away and kill him - instead, they circled the soldiers and feinted mad rushes before veering away to safety. Firing at the evasive monsters, Richard's drum magazine suddenly ran dry mid-burst as the rifle clicked empty.
