[Pisces Station] Abwehran-YSE/DIoN Contact

Abwehran Commander

Inactive Member
It had taken a bit longer than a day due to the changes made to the meeting plan. Since the Nepleslians had decided to meet with the Abwehrans at Pisces Station along with the Yamataians, the HMS Fokker had been sent back home while the HMS Wayfarer pressed on to the Zodiac-class Fortress. Because of this, the HMS Wayfarer exited their Hyperspace Fold right along the about 1 AU away from Pisces.

"Wow...kind of small for a space station," the pilot of the Wayfarer, one Obermaat Emeric Amsel muttered as he angled his Fresha-class Transport towards Pisces, but didn't bother boosting towards it just yet.

"Aye, but a monster none the less," his CO, Oberstabsfeldwebel Gunter Schwab, replied to his Surfacer subordinate. The old Nightwalker's thick goggles stared blankly at the Zodiac as he tapped the console near him.

"Pisces Control," the gruff Warrant Officer transmitted with a thickly accented form of trade. "This is the HMS Wayfarer out of Abwehr with a diplomatic envoy from the Abwehran Star Empire. We request clearance and guiding beacon towards Concourse E. We'd also like to know if the Nepleslian Representatives have arrived yet." he finished before cutting off the transmission and awaiting their reply.

"I'll go inform the ambassador, sir," Emeric stated as he stood up and headed towards the back.

"Yeah, you go and do that, kid" the Warrant Officer gruffed.

Re: [-Pisces Station-] Abwehran-YSE/DIoN Contact

Text-only message from Pisces to Wayfarer:

Pisces said:
A shuttle with a holographic marker system will guide you in. Please follow it.

Neither the Nepleslians nor Yamataian diplomats have arrived yet.

Gunter snorted quietly as he angled his Transport in the direction of the shuttle that Pisces Control had sent to guide him in. "Talkative bunch of wogs," he muttered the usual crude slang term for foreigners. Not a proper term an officer of the Weltraumflotte should have been using, but the Warrant Officer had come up from the Enlisted ranks and he wasn't really the type to take anything from anyone except an superior officer. Only when they were face to face, but he was still respectful anyway.

"They'll likely start going all pissing and moaning about that plague we caused. Now our bloody fault that shit hole for a planet was an incubator." the Warrant Officer grumbled. An isolationist bastard through and through the old codger was.

It would only take a few minutes as the Fresha Transport slowly began to dock. It was rather easy too since the docking port was right underneath the bridge of the ship. Technically it was a cargo docking port and offload ramp, but it would suffice.

"Those delegates ready, kid?" Gunter called back via the ship intercom system.

"Aye, sir. I already have them in front of the airlock. All inoculated and clean."

"Well...warn them they'll probably be getting a wee bit cleaner soon o' nough." he growled before powering down all non-essential systems and engines. "Time to look and play nice with the wee little wogs."

A Taisa in a Mindy and group of security soldiers in green DAISY armor escorted the visitors to a nearby conference area to wait for the Yamataian and Nepleslian delegations.

After a few minutes, a green-heared Yamataian woman, equipped with a transparent helmet and skin-tight white bodysuit arrived. "Welcome to Yamatai," she smiled, looking over the Abwehran delegation. "My name is Relmaya Mersina, appointed ambassador for this mission."

There were three among the delegates chosen to represent Abwehran interests. The first was a female Surfacer whom stood around 5'11" in height with a lovely mane of golden hair reaching down to the small of her back. Dressed in a formal tunic and slacks of vibrant greens and yellows, the delegate only smiled at the green-haired woman. "I am Adala von Baum, Heiress to the Duchy of Brambelton and Ambassador of the Abwehran Star Empire in the name of Her Majesty, Empress Bertina Rosenthal." the blonde greeted as she motioned to a smaller female dressed in more conservative colors of brown and green. The Ambassador's companion was only 5'7" with chocolate, brown hair tied into a braid reaching to mid-back length.

"This is Karla Lang, an economist from our nation who will be advising me on matters of trade." Adala introduced before motioning to the large man on her other side.

"Oberstabfeldwebel Gunter Schwab," the man gruffed in his military dress uniform. The military man reached a height of 7'1" with no hair covering his head at all, adopting the gray beret of a warrant officer to do so for him. An interesting note for the Yamataian Ambassador would be that the male Abwehran had four arms instead of two and he also had a pair of thick, black goggles denoting his Nightwalker heritage. He also had what looked like a short sword sheathed on his left hip and a rather larger service pistol holstered on his right. "I'm the envoy of Her Majesty's Weltraumflotte," he continued in a rather rough tone as his expression seemed on alert while he was on board the foreign station.

None of the Abwehrans had decided to wear environmental suits. After all, they didn't have to worry about spreading any diseases (in their opinion). Dedicated physicians of the Weltraumflotte had cleared them before they had set out.

"On behalf of the Abwehran Star Empire," the Ambassador continued with a smile. "We are glad you have accepted our offer to a meeting and grateful for your aid to the native Khorovaroloran people in their time of need."

Ambassador Mersina nodded. "This is the International Armistice Agreement of YE 30, created earlier this year." She set the document on the table. "It's a simple peace treaty meant as a first step toward more in-depth treaties. We'd also like you to agree to respect the Rights of Early Contact." She set the second document down beside the first.

The Abwehran Ambassador politely took the documents and began to scan them over, stating with the Rights of Early Contact. It would take a few silent moments before she would hand it over to the rough Warrant Officer beside her. "What do you think," she asked in Abwehran.

"I think it's just common sense," the larger Abwehran spat in his native tongue before handing it back. But Adala was already working on the IAA document. Over five minutes would pass before the Ambassador would speak once more in Trade.

"The Rights of Early Contact is acceptable and will be followed by our nation," she replied as she took her datapad and scanned the document a few times to copy and digitize it. "I'll be sure to send it whenever we get back to our vessel. But there are a few matters concerning the Intergalactic Armistice Agreement," she began as she flipped through the Agreement and pointed to a few sections.

"I shall begin with Section 3 of the IAA dealing with Yamataian expansion east of its capital world. Though I have no idea what your plans are for expansion in that direction, I would like to inform you that we too have plans in that area." she stated as she nodded to Gunter.

Pulling out his datapad, the surly Warrant Officer tapped a few times and pushed the device towards the Yamataian Ambassador. "As you can see Frau Mersina, our General Expansion Area encompasses the area to your east." the Duchy Heiress explained as the Yamataian would find a Two-Dimensional Star Chart on the datapad's FED screen. The chart would point out the four Abwehran colonies to Yamatai's North-East border and three systems that were named, but didn't hold flags on them.

"From what I've been told, the Weltraumflotte will have launched exploration and survey missions to the three named systems along the Two-Jaspis Spaceway in order to claim them in the name of the Abwehran Star Empire and solidify the trade route to our colonies," Adala explained calmly. "But your expansion into the East would hinder our expansion. So I would like to make an amendment to Section 3, if you would permit me. The Abwehran Star Empire will expand North, North-East, and East from origin of our home system, Jaspis. We will not expand any more west past that black hole to the north-west of Himmel der Bergleute and will not commit any belligerent movements towards or into Yamataian Space." the Ambassador promised and awaited the Mersina's answer.

"How about a 'general northeast direction' from Star's Crossroads?"

The composed, polite smile upon Adala's face didn't stray or flinch as the Yamataian Ambassador made her suggestion to the Abwehran Delegation. The Warrant Officer beside her, on the other hand, was scowling but remaining quiet for the moment as he seemed to fume. The poor economist merely shook his head and sighed. "While it seems reasonable to their perspective," Karla whispered into the Ambassador's ear in Abwehran. "The resources to the East of Kepler's Find would be a great benefit to building up the colonies' economies," the economist suggested as the Ambassador didn't show any change in expression.

"While that seems reasonable, Frau Mersina, I do believe that our people have had eyes on the four systems to Jaspis' East for a long while now. Are you saying that the Yamataian Star Empire has already bypassed the Jaspis system and laid claim to those worlds?" she asked out of curiosity.

"Correct. Our ships have already begun setting up colonies there," Mersina nodded. "The northeast, however, is an open, uncharted, and unclaimed frontier."

"I see," Ambassador Baum replied calmly as she typed up a correction to her datapad map before showing it again. "Then I believe an acceptable compromise would be colonization and exploration efforts originating from the Jaspis System and heading both North and Northeast." she suggested to the Yamataian.

The economist of the group seemed to gain a satisfied smile upon her expression as her suggestion was pushed forward. The Warrant Officer was not so happy on the other hand. "Begging your pardon," he whispered to the Ambassador's ear in their native tongue. "But aren't you just leaving the home system open to being pincered by their forces if and when they decide to stop playing around with us," he gruffed as the Ambassador shot him a sharp look.

"Suit yourself," he muttered as he leaned back and crossed his arms. Stupid civilian will allow these wogs to overrun us. he thought in annoyance.

"Very well," Mersina nodded. "Thank you for making this quick and painless for both of us."

Adala nodded with her smile still upon her face. "It would be best for all of us to make this as friendly and efficient as possible," she replied calmly. "After all, it's always wise to get along with one's neighbors." With that, Ambassador Baum filed the IAA and Rights of Early Contact in her datapad for Parliamentary review.

"Now that the preliminaries are completed," the Ambassador spoke calmly as she looked at the Yamataian in a friendly manner. "I believe we still have several more issues to deal with that isn't discussed on the IAA and is more between our two nations than anything else." Adala began.

"Our first issue, and our most important, is the Khorovaroloran Incident that happened only a few days ago," she stated as she pulled up a new file on her datapad. "We, again, thank you for your quick arrival and assistance in the quarantine and treatment of the native inhabitants." Pausing for a moment, Adala seemed to collect herself before going on. "It is shameful that this was all caused by one of our independent traders and the Abwehran Star Empire will gladly compensate the Khorovarolorans for their misery by providing humanitarian aid. Unfortunately, there is no one to talk to about such a subject anymore. Their government has quite literally been thrown into anarchy and we've been forced to aid the remaining forces of their Homeworld Security in executing Martial Law to keep the peace." Adala explained before pausing again.

"Under the circumstances, we of the Abwehran Star Empire would like an agreement with all nations that once the current crisis is over and a vaccine has been found for the epidemic, that the native Khorovarolorans will be allowed to chose their own course. That no one nation will suddenly swoop in and take their freedom of choice from them just because of this incident. But this is only a minor agreement compared to our main objective of gathering humanitarian aid for the Khorovarolorans in the form of necessities and medical research for a vaccine or treatment of the virus."

Mersina smoothed her hands down her thighs, thinking it over, before responding, "Very well. That should be fine."

"Thank you," the Abwehran Ambassador replied as she pulled out a folder from a briefcase. "Because of this horrible travesty, our forces have been doing a very intense investigation of what actually happened," the young woman began as she slid the folder over to the Yamataian, its contents filled with information and reports.

"First and foremost is the virus itself." Adala stated. "Apparently, the native biosphere of Khorovarolor, its atmosphere and such, caused the Abwehran Influenza virus to go through a rapid mutation. Normally, the Influenza is deadly only to individuals lacking in the proper vaccine and medical treatment. It's mutation is very much different as listed casualties demonstrate," she explained calmly, but her frown couldn't be hidden. How could anyone not be moved by a lethality of nearly 70 percent?

"Symptoms start three days after infection and last for two weeks. They start out like the common influenza, coughing and the like, but progress into more severe symptoms. Eventually, the infected individual goes insane and becomes extremely aggressive, often attacking the nearest individual. But all of that comes to an end when the patient literally bleeds from every pore and orifice and dies of blood loss." she explained with a pale expression. "Children seem to be the more common survivors of the epidemic, since they often have a stronger immune system than adults. But only 20% of children actually survive. The average percentage for adults runs around 10% while it is 100% lethal to the elderly." Adala said before pausing, as if to collect herself.

"Everything we know about the illness is in that file, so it should assist in researching a vaccine and treatment." she finished before motioning to the next parcel of information. "The incident between the Khorovaroloran Homeworld Security Forces and forces from the Imperial Weltraumflotte were not so easy to investigate."

"The entire incident began when Destroyer Division 002A encountered a Geshrinari Light Freighter trying to break through the Quarantine Blockade. The vessel named the 'Unicorn' was claiming to be carrying infected individuals towards Yamatai for treatment. Unfortunately, we explained to the planetary news networks that our Quarantine Policy was that no ship for whatever reason was to leave or enter the planet's atmosphere unless they were authorized medical ships." Oberstabsfeldwebel Schwab explained before clearing his throat. "A warning was given and ignored, therefore DesDiv 002A was given no choice but to destroy the vessel before it exited the planet's gravity well. After all, our ships don't have Continuum Distortion Drives like many foreign ships have and we couldn't allow such a lethal and unknown virus escape containment."

"This was seen as barbaric in the eyes of the KHSF and the entire fleet began to attack the Second Destroyer Squadron in a form of retaliation. At that time, the squadron had been divided into three divisions of three vessels each and were spread over the planet's orbit to keep the blockade up. Through superior range, the Second Destroyer Squadron was able to defend themselves long enough until reinforcement from the Third Destroyer Squadron arrived. When called upon to cease fire, only two vessels from the KHSF decided to do so. The rest fought till the last man, which is why only two vessels from a twenty ship fleet remained when your Gunship Squadron arrived in-system, Ambassador," the military man explained.

"Later, the investigation revealed that the Unicorn was not a civilian transport." Adala spoke up as she pointed out the next page. "It was actually a smuggler ship named the 'Fleeting Dream' and was a vessel known as the 'Reds'. It's an organization that we learn from research was considered an anti-government organization against the Democratic Imperium of Nepleslia. Of course, this comes from third-party sources and could possibly be inaccurate, but smugglers fleeing from a quarantine blockade would have been dealt with the same way."

"Regardless of the circumstances, your ships had no right to fire on any ship in Khorsovarolor space, especially the security forces. Your nation started a war," Mersina said, putting the information into a concise form.

The Warrant Officer seemed to be gritting his teeth as he coughed into a fist. "We warned the Security Forces about our policies," he gruffly explained. "And we had our own interests in keeping traffic from leaving. If even one of those ships had gotten to one of our new colonies, it would have been devastating," his tone became a bit harder.

"Enough Oberstabsfeldwebel Schwab," Adala scolded and placed a hand upon the military man's upper forearm. She then turned to the Ambassador from Yamatai and nodded. "Your summary and opinion on our actions is quite correct. We did start a war. But we would start it again if it was to protect our citizens from that epidemic," the Abwehran Ambassador replied. "We've probably even saved your own citizens from this plague as well, so I would appreciate it if we put the matter of who started shooting aside," Adala explained. "We've already acknowledged our fault days ago and our doing everything in our power to do what is right now."

There was a pause for a moment as the Ambassador shuffled her files in her datapad. "I believe that covers the majority of our topics for this meeting," Adala said after a few moments. "I was supposed to meet the Nepleslian Delegation here as well, but I haven't heard of any Official Ships arriving. With your permission, I'd like our ship to stay docked a few more days. If they haven't arrived by then, we'll suspect that they were unavailable and return to Abwehr."

"Very well," Mersina nodded, leaving the Abwehrans.

The Abwehran Ambassadors stood, wished the Yamatai Amassador well, gathered up their data sheets, and retired to their ship, till the Nepleslian ambassadors' arrival or till their host called upon them again.
