Plans and Agendas

"Well, We should have no problem with any kind of investigations or what have you..." Sierra began, chuckling somewhat nervously and Glaring at Javier; She didn't even know what he was talking about. "Javier has some ties to the Old Nepleslia and I think he's just upset with how the war's going in general" a hand scratched the back of the girl's ginger-clad head for a moment, before returning to her lap.

"Javier, let's just keep to the details of today after this, Okay? I don't think any of us want this meeting running long because you have some stories of the gold ol' days to tell, am I right Miss Taisho?" She looked over at the Blond Nepleslian, and her hand moved over to his thigh, squeezing it none-too-gently as a 'subtle' reminder

"Actually, Ms. Merkur, I was going to inform the Taisho of how the Ashigaru and its derivatives are related to the Nepleslian Civil War." Javier flashed Sierra a "Thank You" smile, before focusing back on his datapad. On screen, an image of a mecha appeared. Besides a few cosmetic differences, the mecha looked the same as the Ashigaru, besides for a few differences.

The red and black paint scheme made it look far more sinister than the Ashigaru, and there was the blatant logo emblazoned on the left shoulder, the logo of the losing faction of the Nepleslian Civil War: Empire Of Nepleslia, also known as the Reds. On the right shoulder was another logo, but it wasn't one that anyone in the room, besides Javier, had ever seen before. The Image was that of a stylized knight, wielding a lance and a shield. Next to the knight were the words Marcheur de Bataille.

"This, Taisho Mikasa, was the predecessor to the Ashigaru, and it was supposed to be the Empire of Nepleslia's trump card against the invading socialist invaders." Javier began to speak after a few moments. The blonde's smile was gone, and in its place was a deathly serious expression. "The Marcheur de Bataille unit was based of the Kennewesian knights of old, and it was supposed to stride onto the battlefield to protect our world from the invaders." Javier broke off for a second, pausing to make sure that everyone in the room realized exactly who the "invaders" were.

"Unfortunately, funding was shifted from the project to... other schemes that were deemed more worthy of funding, such as additional submersible vessels and various bio weapon projects. The first unit, that you see here, was codenamed the Roland, and was slated for mass production until the funding was cut. The project heads wanted to cut their losses and run, but they were far too important to the war effort to be let go. But a junior engineer, the young man who was born of Royal blood, was able to make his way off planet with the blessing of the project heads. Eventually, that young man joined Origin after a year or so of wandering, and was able to bring the Roland into production as the Ashigaru."

Javier reached into the collar of his shirt, pulling the string that hung there, retrieving the proof of his birth. The Kennewesian pulled the string off of his head, and held it and the signet ring that was hanging from it in his open palm for everyone at the table to see. " I am that man. I am of Nepleslian blood and spirit, and it pains me to see that my homeland is unable to defend itself against this Neo Mishhuvyathar menace. I know that the SMDION will never accept military assistance from Origin Industries, so it is all I can do now to make sure that you are fully successful in your endeavors, Mikasa Sorano."

Sorano had been expecting a surprise from Javier, something leaning more towards the nefarious. She had definitely not seen the revelation that he was a member of the Old Guard of the Nepleslian Empire. How the hell did something like that slip by security? His coming here is almost tantamount to seeking asylum, although last I heard the Nepleslian government had agreed to welcome the Reds back.

She picked up a pen and took one of the briefing pages out of her folder. Turning it over she wrote a brief, terse note and handed it to Hide that read.
Tell Arita Chie - Taii That I want everything she can get her hands on about the Marcheur de Bataille unit. Also have them run Javier Feyete's facial image against our local copy of notable Nepleslians. And let her know that I am displeased that I had to be told by a civilian,
Sorano.
Hide quickly scanned the message, stood up gave Sorano a bow which was dismissed with a hand wave. I certainly do not envy the next time Arita-Taii and the Taisho meet. she thought as she left the conference room.

Sorano picked up her cup of tea, and took a sip while she pondered the implications of this revelation. Yamatai had basically given the Reds shelter within their borders, so his presence would not affect that. The design was if he was to be believed a prototype that their military had rejected. As the designer, and with the disintegration of the old government there was no legal recourse the current regime go take.

She placed her cup carefully back on the saucer. "Feyete-San, I must concede that I was not expecting this sort of a revelation. Although I must ask, why are you so concerned about the Imperium learning of your location. The last reports we heard from the Imperium when they approved an alliance with Yamatai against the Mishhuvurthyar, it included provisions for members of the Red alliance to come home under amnesty." she began.

"So please let me be blunt, is there any other reason you fear the Nepleslian Empire that you have not covered? If I am to ensure your safety here, I believe I have a right to know if someone has a personal agenda against you, that could be a source of 'inconvenience'." she said.

Sierra's eyes simply grew wider and wider in surprise and Horror as Javier had continued talking and telling of his past. A past that now made her fear for him, partially because of how important he might be, and partially because f how stupid he was for blurting it out and making demands of his customers. After spacing out for a little while as her head spun and ran through several different scenarios, each with various amounts of gore and bloodshed, the redheaded Representative/programmer stood up and grabbed Javier's shoulder.

"Excuse me Miss Sorano, But I think I need to have a word with my manager here, can we have a moment outside?" she asked, looking rather heavily frazzled, and making it obvious she was going to drag Javier outside whether he wanted to go or not.

Sorano nodded, "Certainly, we shall take a break for fifteen minutes, and then reconvene." She then typed a command into the tablet before her, and all the screens in the room went to lock mode with an image of the star fortress emblazoned. Then the door to the reception area, unlocked and open.

What I would give to be a fly on the wall to hear that conversation, but it is probably best to give them their privacy. she thought, as she stood up and left the conference room and entered her office on the other side of the reception area.

The Glasses-clad Nepleslian's grip tightened on Javier's shoulder, as she summarily thanked Sorano for the brief pause in the meeting, and as expected, Dragged the blond man out of the room.

"What is all this crap??!?!?!" Sierra asked, her voice sounding harsh and barely kept to a lower tone so as to avoid being overheard. "Why didn't you tell me any of this before? The whole 'I need protection' thing? What's up with that? Seriously! Why are you keeping secrets? especially dangerous ones!" The woman was all fury, and she looked like her blood would scald tea at the moment.
