RP: NSS Acadia [Post Mission 1]: Shore Leave

Having seen enough, the ID-Sol tossed his case to the ground beside him and tensed his muscles. Echo moved over and pinned Anselm's legs to the ground with his knees, using his arms to force the other ID-Sol's similar parts to the ground. He felt no fear towards the crazy medic-woman. He had seen similiar cases of hysteria and psychotic diseases, especially in his brethren. ID-Sols rarely came out as solid as Anselm and himself seemed to be, at least mentally.

"Anselm, calm down." Echo said, turning his head to face the woman. "Look, you may be my superior, and you may be a bitch, but I'm sure you can see he almost ripped his right shoulder clean off his body because of this. If that had happened..."

...we'd have lost a good man.

Following the pause, a low grunt found its way out of Echo's throat and he turned to continue restraining the other ID-Sol. After a few more seconds, the thrashing stopped and Echo nodded. He looked Anselm in the eyes before standing and grabbing his case from the ground beside him.

That stupid bitch could've caused him to break more than one bone...she's a medic, she knows the increase in muscle mass in an ID-Sol throws off the normal human ratio. His body's strength could've literally destroyed his arms...fuck that bitch. I'll make sure to draw my weapon if the chick ever shows up near me alone.
 
The siezures quickly stopped and the marine put a hand to his forehead "Sorry, sir, jus' trying to have a little, hnn, fun- fuck, I need a drink... and a medic" the humor wasn't lost on Anselm as he spit a wad of partially congealed blood and a split tooth on ground next to his head, the undersized ID-SOL glanced at his shoulder and spoke calmly to Echo "I think it's just dislocated- you can get off me now."

Looking the other way he saw a familiar pair of boots sticking out from underneath a nearby shuttle "You're welcome, Master Cheif."
 
"Oh, right." Ran stopped mid-step, causing a woman behind him to run into him. Ignoring the light slaps a purse made against his back, the Chief pulled out his datapad and paged the Master Chief, making sure to make it an audible page so that the MC would get the message immediately.

There was, of course, no way he could know about him hiding from Suku.

Trey chuckled lightly at the strange woman's antics getting into the cab. closing the door, he tapped the cabbie's shoulder and told him an address, and the car was off. For a cab, it was really nice. It was clean, didn't smell, and actually looked fairly new. But trey didn't really mind, he was headed home now. Listening to Lilly's embarrassed attempt at explanation, he answered her "That works. Just don't worry too much about it here, okay? You should relax, It's a safe town." He leaned back in his seat and stared out the window, watching the clean buildings rush past as they moved toward what looked like a small, slightly upscale suburb.
 
Viktor took a deep breath then glanced at Phaedra, a sour smirk spreading across his lips; her naivete was amusing, but the situation was too severe to make small-talk. "Now's not the best time, Phaedra." He grabbed her by the arm and started walking. He pointed with his free hand at Chief Ran and Adrian. "Follow those two wherever they're headed. We'll meet up with you shortly." As he started to walk back toward Anselm, he stopped and glanced over his shoulder. "I'm Viktor." Then he continued on his way back to the ugly little scene.

He offered his hand to Anselm, making sure to never once glance at Suku. He didn't even understand how the fuck she managed to stay enlisted if she pulled that kind of shit. They needed her gone and as fast as possible. "C'mon Anselm, drinks on me."
 
"I'm going with you, Viktor." Harrison said. It wasn't conjecture, though, he was really going drinking- a fact. He fell in alongside Kingston and Anselm, making sure to put a good amount of distance between himself and Suku.
 
Phaedra was caught off guard when the smoking marine grabbed her arm and yanked her away from their current position. She wrenched her arm out of his grip as best she could without dropping her things; but then noticed the commotion going on behind him involving the dark-skinned ID-SOL and another Phaedra had not seen before. She also noticed Harrison, the first marine she had met.

The smoker pointed across the plaza to two marines exiting the plaza and said to go follow them. Before she could reply, the marine introduced himself quickly as Viktor and then ran off back to his previous place.

Phaedra furrowed her brow. She felt a twinge of frustration, but the feeling vanished almost as soon as it had appeared.

"Bad timing I guess...or at least I hope so," thought Phaedra. She did feel a little disheartened at the apparent coldness of most of the marines in the unit, but then again they had fought and died together, and they knew next to nothing about her.

"It's only a matter of time until they find out...I doubt they'll trust me then. I'll soon prove to them that I'm someone they can rely on."

She turned and walked after the Chief and the other marine, keeping her distance until they arrived at their destination.

"Did you even fucking hear me?" Suku spat, "Fuck off, simple as that."


Suku grinned, seeing Anselm recover.

"See? He's fine. Real marines don't get so worked up over such minor things." Suku said gesturing to the awakening soldier. After that she started to walk off, making a somewhat pompous gesture with her hands.
 
Viktor whispered to those around him, "Can anyone give me one decent fucking reason not to shoot her in the head? Just one, please, because I really want to bury that crazy bitch right now." He looked amongst his colleagues, a very frustrated grimace tightening his facial muscles. Just about every fiber of his being had to fight the urge to destroy that woman. She was a danger to everyone she met, an unnecessary danger that should be locked up and left to die.
 
"Court martial? I dunno, she was a medic back on the Alliance, and almost killed Ran when she was giving physicals before the Kennewes assault. I would know, I was in his squad." Harrison grimaced at the verbal exchange. Real marines? The merc shrugged, feeling the words cut into his chest almost as though Suku were speaking to him instead of Echo and Anselm. That bitch had almost caused Anselm to destroy his own limbs with that display of mental inadecquacy, and now she was talking about what a real marine would do?

"Besides, who the hell is she to judge what a real marine is?" Harrison whispered back to Viktor as the group beat a hasty retreat from Suku, Anselm and Echo. "She's Navy, for god's sake, never even leaves the ship. She wasn't on the ground when Ran got his arm shot off, wasn't on the ground when Delta and Epsilon got slaughtered on the invasion, she just sat on the Alliance and crowed about how great she was- I bet."

Anselm stopped, leaving the marines with him to travel several paces before noticing, and turned back towards Suku, his right arm hanging oddly because it hadn't been popped back into place "With all due respect, Sir, I can bring charges on you at any time and have you thrown out of the service," the playfulness had left his eyes and there was no anger, if anything, the marine's face only showed contempt and pity "how would a dishonourable discharge look on your record? I suggest you reign in that temper of yours or I will see you removed," he stepped closer to her, enough to whisper without anyone else hearing "and if you wanna try that neuro-toxin on me or anyone else again, I really hope you like cybernetics, because you'll be needing a lot of them after I'm done with you. Are we clear,Sir."
 
Echo laughed, the cold-hearted and deadened part of his psychology beginning to show. "No, you're right. But, a real marine also has the confidence and anger-management abilities to deal with a few light-hearted jokes. Not to mention, refrain from injecting their companions with potentially lethal substances. At least, that's my take on it...and I've been a marine since the day I was cloned."

Echo wheeled and made sure to keep his right hand on the silenced pistol strapped to his belt. If there happened to be a retaliation, one similar to what Suku did to Anselm, he would fire. Screw his job, and his life, if he could remove one of these vermin from the service than he was sure he'd find a way to keep himself stable.
 
Seeing that basically everyone was in agreement, Viktor was able to relax. It was good to know he wasn't the only one who wanted her dead. "Look, for the sake of everyone's sanity, I suggest we forget about her. A drink or five sounds wonderful right about now, and the first round's on me. So, let's move!" He let Anselm finish his threat to Suku before pulling the ID-SOL aside. "You need help with your arm, Anselm?" Obviously Viktor was no medic, but he'd helped more than a few buddies fix dislocated joints back when he was just a street thug.
 
"We can fix it on the run, let's go." Harrison seemed a bit skittish about hanging around his previous group. By "let's fix it on the run," he meant literally, "let's run away and worry about it later, this bitch might try something else." So, without waiting up for the others, he took off for the nearest bar as fast as his legs would carry him.
 

"Oooooooo! So big and scary." Suku said, rather unimpressed. She then put her hand on her chin. "You think you can put the law on your side? Sexual Harassment, Defiance of Authority, Justifiable Homicide, anything I can get that very Court Martial to believe on my behalf. I suggest you review your situation before you even fucking 'decide' to threaten me, Private. I may be a fucking Navy blue, but I've seen more blood and parts than you could count. I wouldn't put anything in you that would kill you. I'm a fucking certified Naval Medic with a mostly decent history, not like Decane, who nearly made Rico rape a chick by stabbing him with a vial of vigour."

Suku looked right into Anselm's eyes, leaning in for a moment, to emphasize her point.

"Don't play me like I don't know what I'm doing, Private. Don't act like you have something on me, Private. Oh, and for the last time, fuck off, Private."

With a rather disapproving huff, she turned her back to the man and walked off.
 
That was it, if Echo hadn't had more sense, he would've wheeled and shot the woman right then. Not only had his words been ignored, but she was mouthing off to one of his own people. No matter what the fuck this Suku girl was to society, Echo would've shot her. But, something inside of him held him back...it had something to do with the fact that he actually fit in around here.

"Fuck. This. Bitch." Echo said, a blatant emphasis on each word. He began to release his pistol's grip and sighed. "I don't care if I don't drink, I'm hittin the bar with you guys. I need to get my mind off of her before I literally pin her down and rip her throat out."
 
With no discernible answer coming from his own home, Rico slowly began to consider other options. He took a step back, squinting his eyes upwards at the building as Carina kicked futilely away at the door. "Babs, I swear, if yer awake in there, yer gonna get it," Rico muttered under his breath as he pondered away. After a moment, he caught sight of the window on the right side of the front of the building. Rico knew it led into the kitchen, but he also knew that the frame was too small for himself to squeeze through. At least, these days it was...back when he was little, he would sneak out that way all the time.

Rico smiled slyly as the plan began formulating in his head. He went over to the window and peered inside. None of the kitchen lights were on as he reached up and tugged lightly at the bottom edge. It gave easily, given that there was actually no locking mechanism on the window itself. With access to the house granted, Rico walked over and grabbed Carina under the shoulders, carrying her around to the window and hoisting her up. From his position, he couldn't put her all the way though, however; she would have to make the effort herself, and after he realized that, Rico decided he might as well fill her in on the plan.

"Awright baby," Rico explained, his voice a little strained as he continued to hold Carina in front of the open window. "You crawl through here an' hang a left. When you hit the front door, pop the latch so I can get in."
 
Carina had been sitting, rubbing her throbbing foot, frowning at it as she suddenly felt a pair of strong hands snake themselves under her arms, the urge to giggle at this was immense. After all, she was quite ticklish at times... When she was swung about, her eyes now staring at a small window, the interior of the place dim... If she were older, and had a rather well developed mind, tempered with reality, reason, and more or less, worldly experiences...she'd question why this was going on.

"Awright baby," Rico explained, his voice a little strained as he continued to hold Carina in front of the open window. "You crawl through here an' hang a left. When you hit the front door, pop the latch so I can get in."

The little girl couldn't help but stare, batting her eyes at the window before her. She wiggled in his grasp slightly, but nodded along...She had made a promise after all, and began to hoist herself up, little grunts of effort being heard as she did so. Her feet pushed off of his hands as she opened the window, half of her through it rather quickly, when she let out a sudden squeak of surprise, and slipped into the room with a little crash, and a mewling groan. There was a small amount of rustling before she righted herself, saying she was alright to assuage any concerns her father may have had before she began to look around.

She stared a little wide-eyed...so this was her grandmother's place...but why wasn't she not answering the door? Oh...how she wished she could have met her if she was even there! Then a gentle reminder popped into her noggin, Carina looked to her left, her father saying to go that way. And she did so, with some gusto, at a trot, careful not to fall as she reached the front door. The girl frowned at all the locks, and began to unlock them all, having to jump up and down to try to reach.

With a small huff, she went and found a chair, pushing it into the hall, in front of the door. Carefully, she clambered on it, and reached the final lock...just as her father had said, a latch really, got it, and climbed down, moving the chair out of the way. With a little audible click of the doorknob, Rico'd soon see his daughter's head peaking out of the door, wide-eyed, but smiling sheepishly.
 
Phaedra found herself at a dingy little bar and gentlemen's club, nestled between several small shops. She had followed the Chief and the other marine down the narrow street to her current location. As she entered the bar, Phaedra wrinkled her nose unconsciously at the smell; the stench of narcotic smoke and alchoholic beverages assaulting her senses.

The Chief and several other marines sat on stools at the bar proper, and Phaedra once again realized the folly of bringing her gear with her; there was no room for her belongings up at the bar. Sighing inwardly, she hefted her weapon case off her shoulder and leaned it against the front of her body, allowing her to traverse the mass of patrons without smashing any of them in the head.

Phaedra spotted an empty booth across from the bar and made her way towards it. She set her duffle and weapon case on one side of the booth and then settled in beside them, allowing room on the other side for anyone who would wish to sit.

"Can I get you sumthin'?" said one of the waitresses as she passed by the booth.

"Vodka please," said Phaedra without hesitating. The waitress nodded and scurried off to gather more orders.

"Strange...I've never had vodka before...why was that such a reflex response?" she thought.

"Could it be that my predcessor liked vodka?"

Phaedra took off her beret and set it on the table, running her fingers through her silver-white hair. She sighed and glanced around the bar, looking for more familiar faces.
 
Anselm glanced at Viktor "No thanks, I can take care of it" with that the marine pulled out his HHG and bit down on the barrel before popping his shoulder back into its socket with a shallow grunt. "Now," he said testing the arm and jogging to catch up with Harrison "where's that bar you all were talkin' about, I need some hard liquor in my stomach and a warm body in my bunk" it was as if the situation with Suku hadn't happened and they'd just been out playing volleyball.
