Sune was taken from enjoying his meal as Hanako's attempt at discussion was to start a debriefing. He put down his fork for the moment. "Hanako-Chan, from my perspective much of what we did was visit places that the Eucharis had been before. While we did have some exciting moments, I wish we had more success at visiting new places.

However, I believe a more appropriate discussion at a dinner party would be what plans for the holidays folks have made. I for example am planning on enjoying the hospitality of the hotel for a few more days. Tomorrow, I plan on taking my honorary nieces Layven and Sakura shopping for their gifts. Speaking of which, I have also decided that an invaluable member of the ship's compliment is all to often left out of these gatherings. So I will be purchasing a EM-J2-3a Douryo Android for Charisma. That way if she wishes to attend off ship activities she can do so."

Hanako's ice pink lips went into a flat line as she simmered at another one of Sune's perceived attempts at dominating her. After going from a submissive bedroom slave to an admiral, she had a developed a certain disdain about being talked over. By now her enjoyment of the night had all but left and she found herself increasingly angry at Sune for leaving her. She recognized this as part two of the five stages of loss and grief but knowing what was happening didn't make it any less painful. Besides her own emotions, she was angry that the crew's chance to determine their next mission was so casually dismissed. Right now she'd much rather bury herself in her work, planning the future instead of being stuck here in the present staring across the table at her subordinate-turned-boyfriend-turned-ex. She didn't feel hungry anymore and finished her steak in silence, pondering how to excuse herself without making a scene.

"Charisma has a Nekovalkyrja body already," Hanako scoffed.

"Hopefully she will," Takeyu said to Misato's question about being forgiven by Sienna. He didn't leave her side, instead staying by it so that if she needed any further help, he'd be right there. "Shall we return to the table?" he asked, smiling at her.

Sune was uncertain why Hanako was being confrontational. First it was her concern at Takeyu bringing his sisters, then the look she gave when he took the head of the table as was his right as the Host, then trying to turn the dinner party which was only into the dinner stage into a Star Army mission briefing.

"The gift is hers to do as she wishes. The advantage of the Android is she can operate it remotely instead of having to download into the other body and then having to upload and integrate the memories." He said with a polite smile.

He looked over at Sienna, "Sienna, so have you made any arrangements yet? Perhaps spending some time on the beach, or cruising the local entertainment establishments?"

Digging through her bag that was still strapped to the hover bike. she smiled, "I do hope so, I think folks have been a bit hard on her form not being a SA member. she pulled her leather jacket out of her pack and took off the jacket Takeyu had lent her. slipping on then sipping it up a ways, at least he chest was out for everyone to oggle. It was that thought that made her blush... She just was topless in-front of the Taii.

"Yes Sir. I'm ready." She didn't get to far before she realized a problem with the evening. "Uhh Sir.. Um.. i think I was suppose to share a room with Mitsuko... I don't think that is really an option.. um.. can I crash on your floor? Tomorrow i will be gone for a while I think."

"That might be a bit hard considering my little sisters will be with me for awhile, unless you don't mind being around two rather wild kids," Takeyu said with a smile as he took the jacket and folded it up neatly, before hanging it off his arm. Of course, you never know with those two.....

After grabbing a plate of salad and ordering a steak, medium well little less pink in the middle, Bors took a seat near the middle of the table. As he munched like a rabbit at his salad his eyes were playing ping pong with the comments between the two officers at the table. What do you know dinner and a show he thought to himself slowing his rate of salad consumption and ordered another double whiskey from a waiter.

"Sir... I remember the barracks I was stationed in before I got my orders for the Eucharis. But No worries, my other option was to go find a quite out of way beach. Drink a lot and pass out until the sun wakes me in the morning. Though it does sound like one of those trashy novels I read from time to time." She smiled and let him lead her back up to the restaurant.

Mitsuko normally stayed quiet whenever the captain asked questions like these. Hanako didn't seem to really listen to her, although she suspected this applied to the rest of the crew as well, at least most of the time. Murakami didn't think she was understood when she did get a chance to speak to her, anyway. The few conversations they'd had during her service had not gone well. She'd learned to do her best to keep quiet and avoid drawing any attention, really. This was serving her well at the moment. The Neko continued to steadily work her way through the assorted foods in front of her during the argument. Then, of course, the topic changed to their passenger. Mitsuko managed to convert rolling her eyes into looking back at the buffet, covering her reaction fairly well by pretending to ponder seconds.

"Right'o, Ill be there in a sec." Bottle in hand Kale made his way back towards the table.

He uncorked the wine and, with a slight bow and a flourish, offered it to Chieko, a stoic expression on his face. "Your wine m'lady"
Pouring a glassful into the provided receptacle he took his place at the table.

"So. Where should we begin?"

Natsumi's steak had arrived. She cut into the medium-rare-cooked meat and started in on it, enjoying the flavor. she grinned as she took the first bite.

Just a hint of a frown touched Natsumi's lips as she noticed the obvious grating going on between Hanako and Sune. She wondered why the Shosho had decided to bring up what sounded like the start to a mission debriefing at Sune's going away party... And now the two of them seemed to be quietly upset with each other.

Natsumi picked up her margarita and took a long sip of the fruity drink. She hoped things would remain civil.

Hanako considered what to say but her mind was still set on pondering where the Eucharis should go and what they should do to make the most of the upcoming year. As she now lacked a dedicated first officer, she felt particularly alone in the decision-making process, and it was clear there was some distance between herself and the crew in this matter. If they cared about helping with those choices, she wasn't seeing signs of it. Lonely at the top, she mused. There were so many things she wanted to do while the ship was home, and she felt like that precious little time slipping away. She wanted to run around in her bikini on the beach. She wanted to get a massage or do something pleasurable. She wanted to go shopping. What she didn't want was to sit here and suffer this drawn-out goodbye affair. Things would be more simple and painless if she just left.

"Forgive me, I need to get back to the ship for some work there," she coolly excused herself, leaving her plate behind. "Goodbye, Sune. Thank for you for the lovely dinner."

The Shosho made it across the lobby and into an elevator before she stopped to wipe her eyes, cursing her eyeliner she only wore for special occasions as it smeared on the back of her hand. The door slid open in a moment, and Hanako fumbled with her card key and stepped into the cool hotel room with the door slamming behind her, taking a deep breath of its aroma of clean linens before letting out a frustrated scream.

Takeyu grinned. "Non-sense, I'm sure those two wouldn't mind having someone else around." Takeyu smiled as he walked into the building and over toward the elevator that would take them up to the restaurant. "Those two don't like being alone, so long as they are around people they feel they can trust, they are happy. You should talk to them though, before they potentially drive our captain up the wall," his grin broadened.

Sakura and Layven, at that moment, were curiously listening to the conversations that were going on around them. The kids looked at one another before they nodded and walked over to where Sune was presently sitting, they both had their hands collapsed in front of them and looked as if they wanted to ask Sune a question, but weren't about to interrupt 'his' conversation.

Elevator

Kids? funny how they were older then Misato. Once the thought crossed her mind she couldn't get it out of her head. How does one deal with kids? Misato followed Takeyu, "I don't want to be an inconvenience." She stood there quietly as she tried to figure out what her next few hours were going to bring.

As she stepped off the elevator she saw who she thought was Hanako getting into the next vertical people mover over. With a shrug Suzume turned to Takeyu and bowed deeply, "Thank you sir. I truly appreciate the assistance. I'm just kind of worried what is waiting in there for me." She was wondering if she should just skip out and go for a drink or something.

Table

Sienna looked up at Sune between bites, clearly a bit surprised to be addressed directly amidst the terse conversation between the two at either end of the table. She looked around for a second as if to confirm that the XO was indeed speaking to her before looking back at him. Swallowing her bite, she shrugged with an indifferent expression and picked up her margarita. "Nope," she replied, taking a drink. "But it seems like there's plenty to pick from. I figured I'd just play it loose, you know? Make it up as I go."

It was then that Hanako curtly excused herself from the table, obviously irritated at the fact that no one had responded to her request for feedback, or perhaps even at Sune's change of topic. She quizzically watched the Shosho stiffly walk out, then looked back at Sune, saying nothing. Whatever the reason, she got the sense that there was even more unspoken tension bubbling beneath the surface. But it wasn't her concern.

She continued to eat her meal nonchalantly in the awkward silence that followed for a few seconds.

"Non-sense, you aren't going to be an inconvenience," The Taii smiled big as he placed a hand on Misato's shoulder for comfort. "Go in and just have fun, sit down, enjoy yourself, talk with the other crew," Takeyu said; looking toward the door that would take them back to where the rest of the crew were.

Restaurant.

Misato stopped cold at the mention of talking with the rest of the crew. She sent a telepathic message to Takeyu though his touch of her shoulder, Sir... I think I broke up with Mitsuko today... right after you left the ship. That is why I asked to crash on your floor. I don't think I could handle seeing her there enjoying herself. I barely made it out the first time with out breaking down. And the Heisho would kill me if i did."

She looked into the room as saw the crew all sitting there enjoying themselves. All but the Shosho. Suzume looked back at Takeyu.

Sune turned towards the young ladies. He recognized the body language and facial expressions from those on the youngsters on the Bouken. "Layven, Sakura my how the two of you have grown. How can I be of assistance?"

Junko had been taken aback by Hanako’s abrupt departure, to say nothing of the strange tension preceding it, but had still managed to surge to her feet and bow as the Shosho left the table. A verbal acknowledgement had been impossible, however, thanks to the food in her mouth. She had been using it to cover her inability to contribute to the conversation. Never before had she given much thought to the large, strategic picture of the ship’s missions and operational posture; now, thanks to the Shosho’s directions when she had returned to the ship, she was starting to at least consider such questions but was finding it even harder than she had thought it would be. Sitting back down, she took a brief moment to compose herself and finish chewing. Though it was of course not strictly necessary to wait, only then did she send a message.

Code:
To: Shosho Ketsurui Hanako, 1XF Squadrons, Commanding

Ma’am,

Should you require any aid with the work aboard ship it would be my pleasure to assist.
Further, I can also assemble a working party and proceed directly to the Eucharis
should the task require more of the crew.

V/r

Itto Heisho Takeda Junko

Idly chasing the last of her vegetables around her plate, Junko considered the atmosphere around the dinner party. She had heard people mention the crew being like family many times, but had the emotional disposition to consider things in that light. Now that she was now longer ready to dismiss the concept out of hand, she found that she had no clue what that might actually mean, having no personal experience with any family unit larger than two. Much of the crew seemed broken off into side conversations or were simply ensconced with their own thoughts. Some appeared to have not yet even joined the table. All in all, life aboard the ship seemed much simpler. The dictates of duty, shift schedule, and responsibility made determining with whom, when, and how to interact straightforward. She rather doubted that was proper family behavior, but it was definitely easier.

Chieko was thankful for the wine and was about to have a taste when Hanako excused herself and walked off. Even she did not escape noticing the tense atmosphere, momentarily struck dumb by what had happened. The scientist then recalled the glass in her hand and swirled its contents some.

"I'd ask, but I don't think I really want the answer," she finally said, the words sounding as if they half unintentionally leaked out.

The academic then pulled the glass to her nose to take in the bouquet for a distraction, then allowed herself some air before doing it again for real. Chieko let each chemoreceptor signal fire properly in her brain as she allowed the the dopamine cascade to run its course. Finally she allowed herself to compare the sensations against others she had previously, and a smile came to her lips as she let out a contented sigh.

In then end she still couldn't bring herself to drink, but knew she needed to do something. Seeing everyone eating while her plate was empty, Chieko made her way from the table over to the salad bar to put together a number of vegetables then adding a little vinaigrette. The young Minkan then made her way back to the table with a smile before sitting down again.
