Cadence Newborn spoke once everyone from the Inquiry's maiden voyage's first mission was gathered in the front of the Inquiry's wardroom, nearest to her.

"We had a rocky start, but we did the best we could do and even, in some respects, succeeded in what we were trying to do. I commend you all for being sharp-witted and more than capable in the face of grave danger. We have the intelligence, now, to face this enemy."

Captain Ally Gally was next to Cadence, nodding solemnly as her grey and white hair moved up and down on her chest. Cadence looked to her and Gally closed her eyes and pursed her lips. In her own way, she was telling Cadence to go on.

"We are currently being escorted by Admiral De Luca's ships back home. Once we are there, we will undergo repairs for a week or so and then will be back out in the field to take on this enemy we now face. They have provoked us for the last time!" She had balled her fist in her hand, but closed her eyes and sighed as she said, "Now..."

Cadence looked into the eyes of many of those gathered and then asked, "Any questions about the mission that has just passed? We will save questions for the future one once we've gone over what happened on Polup."

Gently moving his head side to side, Glynn looked for anyone that looked like they might want to ask Cadence a question. To his despair Glynn could not pick up on any social cues that indicated such activity. Perhaps they were too nervous to ask the first question? Glynn played with this Idea, and slowly raised his hand to respectfully indicate that he was going to speak.

"If we may know, what is going to be done with the two Aliens that we have brought on board on this ship? Will they be taken as refugees on a separate planet or on this ship until the situation has calmed down, and if so, will any personnel be a assigned to the individual aliens in question for the duration of their stay?"

It was one of the essential questions that any spacer should ask themselves if they pick up any stowaways. From his own experience, Glynn's grandfather was rather keen on the idea of throwing out any unwanted individuals out of an airlock. Though Glynn merely asked to see if he was going to have to worry about the Aliens at a later date.

Cadence opened her mouth and then Gally put up a hand towards the platoon leader and she closed her mouth. Gally spoke as one brow lifted on her forehead.

"Are you asking because you would like to be put in charge of guard duty, Mr. Shields?" She continued, "The subjects have yet to be fully questioned. They are being held right now until we can fully assess their motives."

Glynn eyes lit up as he took a moment to glance at the Intelligence Officer, the Master Sergeant, and his Second Lieutenant.

"No no, that is not what I wanted to imply, I apologize Gally. I merely ask out of pure curiosity Gally. However if I have somehow proven capable of that post, I do not see any reason to refuse such a position unless my direct superiors disagree." Glynn addressed to Gally.

Linda had her arms folded as she she listened to the conversation and took a moment to think. "These extra terrestrials will have to be questioned and monitored their space craft also need to be examined..." She tapped her cheek with a finger a moment and then looked at Cadence and Ally "If Private Shields wants to monitor them I see no problem, better him than someone who has had no contact yet, that causes more trouble. However I would like some time to question them, and their ships to be quarantined until they can be delivered to the IPG."

Alec leaned back in his seat, finally getting some rest after the mission in unknown territory. While it seemed that a couple in the squad were concerned with their new passengers, he was more concerned with the new enemy at large they were facing.

"So uh, what do we know about this enemy we're going to fighting?" He pipped up. "Do we know their leader? How big of an army they got? Hell, do we even know where they came from?"

Stein silently stood behind and to the side of Cadence. He was tired, but he didn't let the team see it. He stood like a rock in the middle of a storm.

He listened to Cadence and Gally as they spoke. It was not his place to speak for the CO of the team or the CO of the ship. However he cleared his throat at the mention of fighting them again. "I look forward to getting some payback, sirs." He said looking straight ahead as he spoke.

He truly did want some payback. He wanted to head back down there and blast everything to atoms.

"Shields and Stein will be posted outside of the containment quarters for these Elefirn that came back with us. Nelson will be a useful asset in interrogating them, though she will not be alone in doing so." That is all Gally said about that, though the Commandant of the IPG was secretly aboard the ship, waiting and ready for an interrogation with Linda there to help.

Cadence remained stern as she said, "What we know about who we're fighting, Private Corbin, is to remain in this room and not leave it. Further information will be given upon deployment on our next mission. We will be going back to their planet on our next mission. To win this time. We will gather intelligence before then and gather supplies to combat what seem to be scalar weapons that they used to make our power armors defunct. Any questions about that can be saved for immediately before we are deploying in a few weeks."

Tobias leaned on his elbows. "So what are we going to do with the Elfirn that we've got held right now after we're done interrogating them??

"We are giving them asylum," Gally replied quickly. "They will stay either on the ship or in Nepleslian space. Any other questions?" She looked around the room, watching everyone as they mulled over the situation.

With his question now answered, Glynn had nothing else to ask about. In fact, he more anxious to get requisition another grenade launcher, something he couldn't do here. So he looked at both the Captain and his commander, and gave them a formal address.

"None at all here!"

He looked towards his compatriots, they still might have questions of there own. If not, he was going to get his task done, and then do some research on the structural integrity. Well with what little he remember anyway. There was also the question on if he could somehow replicate the effects of their PA disabling weapons without affecting Glynn's own power armor.

Alec shook his head as he sat forward. As much as he wanted to press further, it seemed he'd have to wait till the next deployment before he'd get much more info.

"As long we're looking into ways to not have our suits turn into form fitting coffins, then I think I'm pretty set on most questions as is. Just wondering if you need me to be ready for any medical emergencies involving the pris- I mean Elefirn."

Stein nodded. "Aye aye skipper." The Master Sergeant replied to the captain and to Cadence. He remained quiet after that. He knew what he had to do... and that is all that mattered.

He listened quietly to the others as they spoke, and waited to be dismissed so that he could go and stand guard.

"Hmmm," Gally murmured at Alec's statements. "I think we're set on both accounts, but if you would like to examine them, I wouldn't be against that. They haven't been through an evaluation yet and I'd like them to get one. If you would prefer to do that, I'm sure they would prefer you, too. You are one of their saviors, after all."

Cadence looked to her, then nodded to Stein and stood a little straighter, "Dismissed!"
