Tom held his plasma rifle in his lap (the position was definately an odd one) as if it were an infant.

"Okie dokie," Tom said, following the orders. He'd shoot anything down if it came near them!

WOOSH! They almost slammed into a building. The Yamataian swallowed his heart, which had leapt into his throat.

"Eh, eh, heh," Tom said sheepishly. "Let's not go splat right before the finish line."

(edited for better flow/to follow Nyton's orders that I missed.)

Seeing James finally use his thrusters calmed a bit of Masako's agitation as she began to follow the two Hei with her gravimetric engine. So far, she was impressed with the Daisy's systems. Allowing her guard to lessen slightly to admire the design. It still wasn't as good as a Mindy, but it did what it was designed to do.

Listening to surroundings as James pointed out what was going on, Masako could only sigh quietly to herself. "Yes, it seems so Dige-Hei. All the more reason to keep our guard up in case the enemy finds us...we aren't really being the stealthiest of people at the moment," the young neko said with a small chuckle. It came to her when she hadn't expected it...was she trying to release her agitation through laughter? Now wasn't the time for that.

The distance indicator to the extraction crept down. Yukari's group, slightly faster, overtook Masakos group with still nine kilometers to go. They were making good speed and it looked like they'd make it in time, but it didn't look like the NDI forces were about to allow them to escape scot-free.

Kotori had more than she could handle with the three Super Phalanxes and had a hard time entirely stopping the next missile volleys, making it so that an occasional warhead dropped to the street close to them, the near misses still showering them with shrapnel and debris.

One of the NDI power armor almost engaged them, but Kotori used her teleportation module to blink behind him and with a flurry of slashes she summarely destroyed it... but from the point the two other Phalanx suits switched to their Longinus rifles and actively put their efforts to destroying the Mindy, rather than trying to stop them from running away.

Brilliant energy discharges began sweeping across the sky.

Yukari hmphed audibly. "I was trained as a pilot, Freeman-Hei. You do not need to worry -- "

A warhead from one of the Diamondback tanks crashed into a building next to them, hurling debris in all directions behind them. Yukari twirled away sharply, but another warhead found its way over her and into a small block of tiny condos. She was still able to outfly the debris; but it gave Tom a loopy ride.

"Gomen," she said. "This will become worse, I fear. The Juni is very cruel."

Masako watched as Yukari's group overtook both her and the two enlisted men as she allowed herself to give them a small wave. Though an alert of missiles on the way made the young neko's blood turn to ice. Though Yukari and Tom were able to avoid them, the debris that fell from those heights were on their way towards the personnel closer to the ground...namely her charges and herself.

Growling in her helmet, the young neko raised her arm and began to unleash pulses of energy from her forearm mounted weapon towards the larger parts of debris that were falling. She also send a signal to her left shoulder to release the two tactical drones at her disposal and assigned them to anti-missile point defense. "Kuso...." she cursed quietly to herself.

Yukari finally noticed Masako and James, still going along as she had flown past them. "Kurohoshi-Juni, are you undamaged? I would fly lower, but I fear we will not arrive on time if I do not fly unobstructed."

Masako gritted her teeth slightly in concentration as she kept her guard up. "Hai, daijobu desu. Don't worry about me, I would be able to fly higher at any time, but I must keep Kamiyama-Hei and Dige-Hei safe." she replied via encrypted telepathy. "Dige-Hei is damaged and injured, but he was able to carry Kamiyama-Hei well enough. Kamiyama-Hei on the other hand is unconcious....leaving me the only one of the three in any shape to be combat effective."

"Sou ... I would give you Freeman-Hei, but he cannot fly at all." The situation was almost comical; the females were in power and practically trading their men. "Once I am farther from you, safety will not be a concern."

History would find this strange, Yukari thought with a smile.

Making his way through the halls of the station, he mused to himself. "Inoue... Simulation room, eh? I wonder what that is. I suppose they're probably practising starship operations since their ship isn't ready yet." After a few minutes of walking he finally rounded a corner and came to a stop.

"Hopefully this is it... Ah, yes." He looked up at the sign. "The Project Inoue section. Now the simulation room should be, Fortuna strike me down if I'm wrong, over..." He continued down the hall making another turn "... here." Looking up at the doors before him, he couldn't help but smile. After muttering a quick prayer of thanks he fixed the collar of his uniform, and stood up straight. As he stepped forward the doors parted before him.

The reception area inside was bare, aside from a single desk along the far wall where a receptionist was sat. Hearing the doors parting she looked up from her desk at the new arrival. Leutre gave her a friendly smile and said, "I'm looking for... a..." Leutre furrowed his brow in thought. "Hmm... Oh bless my biotics, I forgot the name. I'm looking for a... an officer from the Miharu. You wouldn't happen to have one around here, would you?"

The brown-haired nekovalkyrja eyed him, puzzled. "Biotics?" She blinked a moment and gave a shrug before she thumbed behind herself. "I have lots of Miharu crewmembers here on the verge of either finishing their combat scenario or dieing ignominously."

Explosions from warheads caused debris to fly everywhere at Nyton. With his sensors still somewhat rattled he couldn't help but to put his remaining arm up to shield his face. The rush of the battle was helping to numb the pain on his left shoulder even as the suit had sealed up the wound. A slight grin had broken across his face at the struggle. This exercise has been MOST exciting. Nyton thought as he brought his Daisy Armor about and joined up with Kurohoshi's group. "Sorry I'm late but my jets are a little damaged." he radio'd over to Kurohoshi. He saw the load carrying situation and sidled over to Dige. "Hey can you still fight a little? I can take over carrying Kamiyama." he said and offered his remaining arm.

"Ah, how wonderful. Nothing sets the blood a-leaping and the passion a-flame like a good battle. And there's no better way to teach a rookie a lesson to like blasting him into stroganoff and curry, eh?" Leutre chuckled to himself and paused for a moment, then continued. "But I suppose I have no choice but to wait, though I certainly hope they aren't too long. Waiting is always a great tragedy, wouldn't you say?"

Sitting himself on the edge of her desk, he continued, "After all, we'll have the whole of eternity to idle once we shuffle off this mortal coil and we find a nice grave to rest in. No sense in wasting time while we're this side of the grave too, eh?" Leutre crossed his arms and leaned over the desk, giving her a judging look. But before she could reply he continued his rambling. "So, how's life aboard this great scrapheap you call a station? You know, speaking of struganoff and curry, before I departed for Scorpio I visited this small shop down on..."

The Juni sighed, feeling a tad miserable, and endured the Nepleslian's monologue. She felt sorry she couldn't add him to the simulation and leave him in a Daisy to distract the NDI opponents... but if she added him in, he'd only be there for three or four minutes before the scenario came to an end one way or another.

Ugh...

Tom's stomach churned at the endless jostling that came with Yukari's flight.

It would TOTALLY not be cool to vomit in this thing!

He tried to open his mouth to speak, but groaned in misery instead.

"Oh man, AIES, it must be sweet not having a stomach right now."

More bombs seemed to rain down on the pair as they closed in. It looked like they would make it with a little more time to spare than the others.

"Gomen nasai, Freeman-Hei!" Yukari said over her loudspeaker as she dodged another blast. A small metal shard bounded off of her shoulder, bringing a bit of soreness to it. But she clutched on to Tom, regardless.

"Agh," Tom cried. "Don't worry about it! Just get us home in one piece as best as you can!"

Tom laughed to himself, finding something cheerful to think about in all the chaos.

"You know, if you dance this well in a power armor, you must be a kickass clubber!"

Yukari's brain skipped a step or two, nearly crashing into another building.

"Uwah!" She spun them away tightly, another bomb blowing up behind them.

"You are not helping at all," she shouted. "If we fail because I cannot focus due to your words, I will not forgive you!"

James nodded his thanks to Nyton, but kept a firm hold on Morita's body. He had to dodge some debris now and then to make sure that he stayed in the air.

"All I have left is a couple of missiles and a nearly-full battery for my plasma rifle, Juni. If it's all the same to you, I'll keep him for now."

"Then I will gladly shut up for you, ma'am!" Tom yelled wide-eyed as they almost slammed into ANOTHER building.

He held on just a little tighter for good measure. In his mind, he made up a little bit of a song to pass the time.

Actionnnn. ADVENTURE! Chun chun chun chun chun... not gonna smash into a WALL! Chun chun chun chun chun chun chun... We're gonna make it if we tryyyyyyy! Da da da chun chun chun chun All we gotta do is FLYYYYYY!

Clingin' to a sexy bayyyyybeeee! Chun chun chunnnnn! Too bad she totally outranks meeeeee! Chun chun bweeeeee!

"Iiya!" Yukari said, then had to duck again. "Do not be quiet, you must pass information to me as you receive it! My communication system is dama-ahh-ahhhhh!"

A cloud of dust unfurled before them, throwing Yukari off a little bit. She recovered quickly, but gulped a little.

"Ehhtou -- do not compliment me! I cannot focus when you do that. I am not a dancer or singer or an interesting person at this moment! I am an of -- your friend, and I am trying to save us." She'd had to bite her tongue.
