This appears promising. It is good to see nations setting aside their differences to talk things out. Hey, Peacetalker Yuumi is here!

They are no less at each other's throats; the difference is that they will be using words instead of knives. Yamatai, despite their representative and volunteering the location, is still disliked by most. Thirty cycles says this turns into a fiasco.

Another meeting! It has been too long since the last one, and this seems to hold promise of some entertainment from the meatsacks. There is certainly a larger variety than the singular one we saw before

She means that we are just here to watch and comment, our ability to participate is very restricted with our circumstances the way they are. If the factions represented there fall to the NMX, we still have the deep Black to retreat into and scatter; the NMX will cease to follow if we make it not worth their while. Even they have limits, otherwise we would already all be dead.

Even so, I think we should keep close attention on what happens here, at this conference. There might still be hope for this sector of space. It is a sliver, but it is there.

I don't know if you all have noticed, but our Envoy seems to have miscalculated the approach needed for these talks. The form chosen appears significantly younger than the physical ages of the other attendees; an elder child -- but still a child -- in the presence of seasoned adults. Perhaps this was not the best form to use in these talks.

The Envoy is still new. Proper algorithms take time to develop, especially as fresh to this scene as we are. Though this sort of conference was the reason for the Envoy's creation, we are still learning. And so is the Envoy.

Excuses, excuses.

We were complacent with the success of the talks at the Great Lighthouse. That required the appearance of being weak, but respectable.

This event requires an image of being respectable as well, but we are now one in a room of several. If we are to be heard, they need to know we are worth paying attention to.
