Tange System

Port Dongfeng was always alive with activity, reflecting a vibrant mix of cultures and backgrounds. So much so that Port Dongfeng drew a large number of Nepleslian Reds looking to make a new life for themselves on the other side of the Yamatai Star Empire. Initially the Ryu Keiretsu envisioned the native Tange population to make use of the station as a stepping off point to recolonizing Tange II, self-governing themselves. But with this not coming to fruition and the mixture of cultures on the station, the Ryu Keiretsu opted to hire the Fujiko Development Corporation's Territorial Administration Service to manage the civilian governance of the station. This allowed the FDC to gain access to some of the higher end dwellings for administrators at a low discount. Not that Nadia Krieg was making much use of them.

She had spent much of her time within the station's commercial district trying to understand the local mining industry. Given her large stature being a Raijin Type Artificial Nepleslian, it was difficult for her to not stand out as she visited the various bars and drinking establishments wearing her much preferred street clothing. But with the meeting at hand, it was time for her to truly shine who she really was.

With her platinum blonde hair pulled back into a tight bun, Nadia Krieg strode confidently through the bustling corridors of the commercial district. Wearing her white, blue, and gold Ryu and Liu High necked executive dress with her two close protection specialists. The atmosphere of Port Dongfeng was a blend of sophistication and industriousness, with sleek designs complemented by the hum of machinery and the chatter of residents. Vendors shouted out their daily specials with the aroma of diverse cuisines filled the air.

Nadia’s presence commanded attention, her strides purposeful, embodying the duality of her role as both an executive and a security specialist. She passed various commercial establishments, from luxury boutiques to bustling marketplaces, each catering to the diverse population. As she navigated through the commercial district, Nadia couldn’t help but admire the architectural fusion of Nepleslian robustness with Lianjia aesthetics. The station’s design was not just about functionality but also about creating a welcoming environment for its inhabitants and visitors.

The scenes of the commercial district eventually gave way to one of he docking zones with direct access to the commercial district. Nadia observed the bustling activity around her. Dock workers and security personnel were diligently performing their duties, ensuring the seamless arrival and departure of vessels. As she approached docking bay 217, she reviewed the key points of her upcoming negotiations, ready to adapt to any situation that might arise.

Tange System

Astrid Kurosaki the CEO of the Mining Guild stood in the Observation deck of the Diplomat's Resolve a luxurious vessel that The diplomats of the Mining Guild used, This one belonged to her ambassador, Alice Sursilvan who likewise stood beside her. "I'm pleased to hear Sora is doing well, though saddened that she hadn't yet found a place in Yamatai Star Empire to settle Station Iotacron in. But theres still time, and i know you'll be able to help her, Alice, especially Sora's new assistant, Yoko Takashashi, you called her? I assumed you did a background check and everything? I'm sorry mother's worries" Astrid said to Alice with a chuckle.

Alice Sursilvan smiled warmly, placing a reassuring hand on Astrid's shoulder. "Yes, I did a thorough background check on Yoko. She has an impeccable record and comes highly recommended. Sora is in good hands."

Astrid nodded, her worry easing slightly. "That's good to hear. The Yamatai Star Empire is a complex place, and I want to ensure Sora has all the support she needs."

Alice glanced out of the large observation window, the stars streaking by as the Diplomat's Resolve moved through space. "We'll find the right location for Iotacron. Sora's determination and Yoko's skills will undoubtedly lead to success. And with your support, everything will fall into place."

Astrid smiled, the weight of her responsibilities feeling a little lighter. "Thank you, Alice. Your confidence means a lot. Let's hope for the best for Sora and the Mining Guild's future."

Alice smiled at her "No problem, anyways, we'll soon be entering the Tange System, It is under the control of of the Motoyoshi clan, and Nepleslian Reds and Ryu Keiretsu has influence there, according to reports especially news reports, they've hired the Fujiko Development Corporation's Territorial Administration Service to manage the civilian governance of the station. This allowed the FDC to gain access to some of the higher end dwellings for administrators at a low discount. They want a meeting with us, possibly to allow the Mining Guild to have a branch here, i do not know, we will see." She said to Astrid.

Astrid raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "The Tange System under Moyotoshi Clan control, and Nepleslian Reds and Ryu Keiretsu's influence? That's an interesting combination. And the Fujiko Development Corporation managing civilian governance."

Alice nodded. "Yes, and it could be a valuable opportunity for the Mining Guild. Establishing a branch here would give us access to new resources and markets. Plus, the presence of the FDC suggests there could be some advantageous arrangements for us."

Astrid took a deep breath, considering the possibilities. "Let's hope this meeting goes well. If they are interested in collaboration, it could strengthen our position significantly. We'll need to be prepared for any negotiations. Do we have all the necessary information and reports on the Tange System and its current status?"

Alice smiled confidently. "I've gathered all the relevant data and briefed our team. We'll be ready to present our case and explore any opportunities that arise. Trust me, Astrid, we're in a strong position."

Astrid nodded, feeling a renewed sense of determination. "Excellent. Let's make the most of this opportunity and see what we can achieve in the Tange System. It's time to show them what the Mining Guild is capable of."

The doors to the Observation deck opened with a soft hiss, revealing a sleek, shiny android gliding gracefully into the room. Its polished chrome exterior reflected the ambient light, casting shimmering patterns on the walls. The android moved with precision, each step silent and fluid, a testament to advanced engineering and design.

Carrying a silver tray adorned with an assortment of drinks and delicate treats, the android approached Astrid and Alice. The tray held an array of colorful beverages in crystal glasses, each drink expertly garnished with exotic fruits and delicate herbs. Alongside the drinks, there were intricately crafted pastries and finger foods, meticulously arranged to please both the eye and the palate.

With a polite bow, the android extended the tray towards the two women. "Good evening, Madam Kurosaki, Madam Sursilvan. May I offer you some refreshments?" Its voice was smooth and calming, designed to provide comfort and assurance.

Astrid smiled, taking a glass of a sparkling, amber-colored drink topped with a slice of starfruit. "Thank you," she said, taking a sip and savoring the refreshing taste. She then selected a small pastry, filled with a rich, creamy filling and topped with a glistening berry.

Alice picked up a glass of a deep purple beverage, adorned with a sprig of mint. "Much appreciated," she replied, her eyes scanning the tray before selecting a delicate canapé. She took a bite, nodding in approval at the burst of flavors.

The android remained poised, its sensors subtly monitoring for any further requests. "Should you require anything else, please do not hesitate to ask," it said, stepping back slightly to give them space while remaining attentive to their needs.

As they enjoyed their refreshments, Astrid glanced out of the observation window, the vast expanse of space stretching out before them. "It's quite something, isn't it?" she mused, the drink in her hand reflecting the starlight.

Alice nodded, her gaze also drawn to the mesmerizing view. "Indeed. Moments like these remind me of the vast possibilities out there. And how crucial it is for us to seize the opportunities that come our way."

The android, standing silently by, seemed almost a part of the elegant ambiance of the Observation deck, a seamless blend of advanced technology and the luxurious setting of the Diplomat's Resolve.

Suddenly, the android emitted a soft beep, drawing the attention of Astrid and Alice. Its eyes lit up slightly as it spoke. "Madams, I have just been informed by the pilot AI that we have arrived, as you can see, and will soon be making our approach to the station's docking bay 217 shortly."

Astrid glanced out the observation window, where the vast expanse of space was now punctuated by the silhouette of the station coming into view. The station was an impressive structure, with a complex web of docking bays, external modules, and antennae stretching out into the void. The lights of the station twinkled like distant stars, creating a mesmerizing spectacle.

Alice set her drink down, her expression becoming more focused. "Looks like it's time to get to work," she said, adjusting her attire and preparing herself for the upcoming meeting.

Astrid nodded, standing up and smoothing out the wrinkles in her dress. "Let's make sure everything is in order. We need to present the Mining Guild as a strong and reliable partner."

The android stepped aside, allowing the two women to proceed towards the exit. "If there is anything else you require, please let me know," it said, its voice maintaining a calm and service-oriented tone.

As they made their way through the corridors of the Diplomat's Resolve, the ship's sophisticated design and luxurious details were evident everywhere. The soft hum of the ship's systems was a constant reminder of the advanced technology that powered their journey.

Arriving at the airlock, Astrid and Alice were met by a small team of Mining Guild representatives who had been preparing for this moment. They exchanged brief nods and words of encouragement, reaffirming their commitment to making this meeting a success.

The airlock doors opened with a hiss, and the group stepped onto the docking platform of the station. The atmosphere immediately felt different, a blend of industrial efficiency and the unique characteristics of the Tange System. The hustle and bustle of the docking bay were a stark contrast to the serene environment of their ship.

Alice glanced at Astrid, a determined look in her eyes. "Ready?" she asked.

Astrid took a deep breath, her resolve solidifying. "Ready. Let's show them what the Mining Guild can do." Together, they stepped forward, ready to engage with the powerful entities that awaited them and seize the opportunities that lay ahead.

The two of them stepped forward, followed by the security detatchment, and their team of representatives. The woman recognized Nadia Krieg from the dossier and the notes they were given. “Miss Krieg, it is a honor to meet you, my name is Alice Sursilvan, I am the Diplomatic Ambassador of the Mining Guild, beside me is Astrid Kurosaki, the CEO of the Mining Guild, and our representatives. We hope this meeting would be benefitial for both of us.” Alice said.

Nadia Krieg’s steel blue eyes looked over as they registered the presence of Astrid Kurosaki, as the mining guild delegation were stepping off the Diplomat's Resolve. She quickly assessed the situation, realizing the significance of the Astrid's presence, they were clearly taking this meeting much more seriously than she had expected. Being that the Fujiko Development Corporation was clearly a Nepleslian Red enterprise even with its partnership with the Ryu-Mizumitsu, it would not surprised her they had sent a lowly representative to deal with the "insignificant" group of individuals. But Nadia was one to plan for all possible contingencies, even ones with a low probability.

"Sorry to disturb you sir, just to make you aware the CEO of the Mining Guild is part of their delegation. I.." Nadia said after establishing a digital connection to Sun Horatio. Present on the station due to the possibility of Astrid arriving, the real reason was to inspect and learn Ryu Keiretsu's mining operation within the system. Particularly the Dragon Class Mobile Refinery.

"No need to worry Ms. Krieg. I am already at the Baitian Hotel, make sure all security on the in-bound route are not watching Kamen Sentai Nekoranger like the last time I was here..." Horatio said, his stoic face seen by her within her augmented reality HUD clearly annoyed at the mentioned incident.

"It shall be done." Nadia said before ending the call. Turning to one of her close protection specialists, she instructed, “Contact Greg, we will be inbound to the Baitian soon.” she said without moving her mouth. Dismissing the other individual, the both nodded and made their way to their assigned positions ahead of the group.

Nadia walked forward towards the delegation and stopped at a respectable distance from the pair. She gave a respectable but very Yamataian bow after they introduced themselves. "The honor is mine." she said as a Default Industrial Tools and Manufacturing MOVR Cargo Transportation Drone hauling a number of containers in the direction of a small Weaver Utility/Construction Frame, both colored in the FDC's onyx and maroon livery with safety orange accenting it to improve visibility.

"We will be going to the Baitian Hotel 4 levels above where our CEO Sun Horatio is waiting for your arrival. We are looking forward on how both the Fujiko Development Corporation and the Mining Guild can move forward in the future inside and outside of the Yamatai Star Empire where we have influence." She said before gesturing with her right hand towards the corridor that will lead them to the nearest passenger lift. "This way please."

Astrid noted Nadia's reaction to her presence especially the significance of her title of CEO, but also noted how quick she responded. It told her that Nadia can adapt to any situation, which she knew was a good trait to have. She was told then theat they were going to the Baitian Hotel, which was located 4 levels above them, and turned to Alice, who had done extensive research. "Have you looked into the Baitian Hotel Before?' she asked her ambassador, via their Neural Link.

Alice, receiving Astrid's question through their Neural Link, responded swiftly and discreetly. "Yes, I have," she replied, her thoughts transmitting clearly. "The Baitian Hotel is one of the more prestigious establishments on the station, catering primarily to high-ranking officials, diplomats, and corporate executives. It's known for its opulent design and exceptional security measures. The hotel’s management has a close relationship with the Ryu Keiretsu, which could explain why we're being taken there."

As they walked, Astrid considered Alice's assessment. The choice of the Baitian Hotel for their meeting was telling—it signified that their hosts wanted to make a strong impression, possibly to showcase the power and influence they wielded in the Tange System.

“Anything specific we should be aware of regarding the staff or security?” Astrid inquired further through the link.

“The staff are well-trained and discreet, accustomed to dealing with high-profile guests. The security is tight but unobtrusive, with a mix of advanced surveillance systems and highly trained personnel. It’s unlikely we’ll encounter any issues, but it’s always good to stay alert,” Alice replied, her thoughts laced with calm confidence.

Astrid nodded subtly, feeling reassured by Alice’s thorough research. The Baitian Hotel was clearly a venue where the Mining Guild could engage in meaningful discussions without distractions. As they neared the transport that would take them to the hotel, Astrid felt prepared to navigate whatever challenges or opportunities awaited them at this next crucial meeting.

Alice cleared her throat and spoke aloud, her voice carrying a tone of professionalism that matched the gravity of the news she was about to share. "During the International Relations Conference, I received favorable news from the Imperial Premier, Hanako-sama, of the Yamatai Star Empire. They have expressed their willingness to allow the Mining Guild to open a branch within the empire."

As she spoke, Alice gestured toward Astrid with a graceful hand, indicating her as the CEO of the Mining Guild. "I have, of course, informed our CEO here about this development. It’s a significant step forward for our operations, and I’m pleased to announce that the decision to appoint the Branch Head has already been made."

She paused briefly, her gaze steady as she continued. "Although I have entrusted the new Branch Head to the care of my assistant, there are still formalities to address. Citizenship paperwork, residency permits, and other bureaucratic details need to be processed before everything is fully operational. These matters are essential for ensuring that our new branch operates smoothly within the legal framework of the Yamatai Star Empire."

Alice's voice softened slightly, showing her confidence in the process. "The Branch Head is currently focused on these administrative tasks, but they will likely be able to attend our meeting later via holographic communication. This will allow them to stay engaged with our discussions and provide any necessary input despite the logistical challenges."

Astrid nodded in acknowledgment, her expression composed but reflective of the importance of the news. The expansion into the Yamatai Star Empire was a critical milestone for the Mining Guild, one that could open new avenues of opportunity and growth. Alice's careful handling of the situation, from the appointment of the Branch Head to the ongoing communication with Yamatai's leadership, was crucial to the success of this venture.

Alice finished her statement with a slight smile, a hint of satisfaction in her eyes. "I believe this is an exciting time for all of us, and I'm confident that with our collective efforts, the Mining Guild will establish a strong and lasting presence in the Yamatai Star Empire."

As they walked, Alice continued, her tone diplomatic but laced with intent. "And I am very interested in seeing how the Fujiko Development Corporation and the Mining Guild can move forward together. The Mining Guild has already established successful ties with the Yugumo Corporation and their influential owners, the Motoyoshi Clan. I believe that we can forge a similar, mutually beneficial relationship with the Fujiko Development Corporation, and I hope that your CEO, Sun Horatio, will be in agreement."

Her words carried a subtle but clear message: the Mining Guild was not just looking for another business partner, but a long-term alliance that could elevate both corporations in the competitive landscape of the Tange System and beyond.

As they proceeded through the bustling docking bay, Alice's sharp eyes took in the scene around them. A Default Industrial Tools and Manufacturing MOVR Cargo Transportation Drone caught her attention as it glided past, hauling several large containers with impressive efficiency. The drone was headed towards a small Weaver Utility/Construction Frame, a robust and versatile machine designed for a variety of tasks, from heavy lifting to precision construction work. Both the drone and the frame were painted in the distinctive livery of the Fujiko Development Corporation—onyx black and maroon, with safety orange accents that made them stand out in the busy environment.

The sight of the FDC's equipment, marked with their corporate colors, underscored the organization's strong presence and capability. Alice mentally noted the seamless operation between the drone and the construction frame, an indication of the FDC's emphasis on both technology and precision.

Turning her thoughts back to the conversation, Alice added, "The Mining Guild's success with the Yugumo Corporation has shown us the value of collaboration with well-established entities. We are eager to bring that experience to our potential partnership with the Fujiko Development Corporation. Together, I believe we can achieve remarkable results."

Astrid, walking beside her, remained silent but attentive, absorbing the nuances of Alice's words and the visual cues around them. The subtle observation of the FDC's operational efficiency only reinforced the potential strength of a partnership. The future looked promising, with the possibility of aligning the Mining Guild with another powerful player in the region.

As they neared their destination, Alice's confidence in the forthcoming discussions grew. The prospect of aligning with the FDC was more than just a strategic move; it was an opportunity to cement the Mining Guild's influence in the Tange System, much like they had done in other key regions. All that remained was to see if the Fujiko Development Corporation shared their vision.

Nadia listened to the two openly discuss their plans for the Mining Guild as if it was a forgone conclusion that the discussions would be positive in their favor. And she didn't blame them for being well-prepared to capitalized on not only their relations with the regionally powerful Motoyoshi Clan but also any newfound strategic partnership they might gain with someone with a practical stepping point in the form of Port Dongfeng. Though she felt the need to correct any possible misconceptions early as they entered the large passenger lift, their path cleared out of all but the most essential employees.

"One of the key objectives of the Fujiko Development Corporation is to establish trade relations with the New Dusk Conclave. So even though our influence outside of Fujiko, Rufusland, and Ukmirt is limited to just this station within the Tange System we manage; securing direct trade would do a long way in announcing the Reds under the FDC are far from dead." Nadia said as they entered the lift. She waited outside patiently as the large group shuffled in. From a security standpoint, she absolutely hated doing this. But she was confident in both the security personnel of the station and the Internal Investigations Committee in ensuring the transit will be smooth and boring.

"What are the Mining Guild's immediate goals once they have determined where they are establishing your branch office and operational?" Nadia asked as she entered as the last individual in. The lift's door hiss closed before the unit started to move upwards with a soft acceleration.

"Our immediate goals once we establish our branch office and operations in the Tange System will revolve around two key areas: resource acquisition and market penetration," Astrid began, her voice steady and confident. "Firstly, we intend to leverage our presence in this region to secure access to local resources, particularly those of interest to our mining operations. This will allow us to diversify our supply chain and enhance our production capabilities."

She paused briefly, her expression thoughtful as she continued. "Secondly, we aim to penetrate the local market effectively, establishing partnerships and contracts that will enable us to distribute our products and services efficiently. By building strong relationships with key stakeholders in the Tange System, we can position the Mining Guild as a reliable and valuable contributor to the local economy."

Astrid's words encapsulated the strategic approach the Mining Guild planned to take upon entering the Tange System—a dual focus on resource acquisition and market expansion that would lay the foundation for sustainable growth and success in the region. The lift continued its ascent, carrying them closer to their destination and the discussions that awaited them at the Baitian Hotel.

Alice, who stood beside Astrid, listened attentively to her words, silently acknowledging the significance of their objectives in the Tange System. She mentally noted the importance of aligning their goals with the local dynamics and ensuring that their operations would integrate seamlessly with existing structures and processes.

As the lift approached the desired floor of the Baitian Hotel, Astrid's gaze shifted to Nadia, her demeanor composed and focused. "We believe that by staying true to our core values of integrity, innovation, and collaboration, we can forge strong partnerships and drive sustainable growth in the Tange System," she stated, her words resonating with a sense of purpose and determination.

Alice, aligning herself with Astrid's sentiments, added, "The Mining Guild is committed to fostering a culture of mutual respect and shared prosperity in all our endeavors. We see the Tange System as not just a new frontier but a place where we can make a positive impact and contribute to the region's development."

Their collective vision and strategic approach reflected the Mining Guild's ethos and its commitment to responsible business practices. As the lift came to a gentle halt, the doors slid open, revealing the elegant surroundings of the Baitian Hotel's reception area.

Nadia's inquiry had prompted Astrid and Alice to reaffirm their objectives and values, setting the tone for their upcoming discussions with the Fujiko Development Corporation. The Mining Guild was ready to engage with their potential partners, guided by a clear vision and a shared determination to succeed in the Tange System and beyond. Together, they stepped out of the lift, poised and prepared to embark on the next phase of their journey—a meeting that held the promise of new opportunities and collaborations in the dynamic world of interstellar trade and diplomacy.

As the lift's doors opened, the exterior that it emptied into was a vast difference from the utilitarian corridor of the prior deck. Owning this section of the station for the next 25 levels above and 3 below, the sights of a cavernous lobby unfolded like a grand celestial palace. Towering atriums reached upwards, their vaulted ceilings adorned with holographic constellations that shifted and twinkled as if part of the night sky itself. The gentle hum of ambient music mingled with the soft rustle of artificial waterfalls cascading down crystalline walls, creating a symphony of tranquility that permeated the air.

Gleaming floors of polished marble stretched out before you, reflecting the soft, ambient glow of carefully placed light panels. The lobby was filled with lush bamboo and orchid gardens, their vibrant greenery and exotic flora defying the harshness of space. Some sections of the walls were transparent, offering breathtaking views of the nebulae and stars beyond. Guests lounged in luxurious seating areas, attended to by elegantly dressed Iris-Type and much more mechanical looking service androids. The scent of exotic incense wafted through the air, adding to the atmosphere of opulence and relaxation.

A singular and unassuming woman stood a respectable distance away from the lift's doors. Even with her semi-metallic silver skin and Lianjia qixiong ruqun style dress, one could have easily missed her with the lack of extra movements. "Welcome travelers and guests of the Mining Guild. Please allow me to guide you and ensure your comfort during your visit," she said, her voice smooth and melodic, with a hint of an accent that suggested an origin was not of the Motoyoshi Colonial Sector. Her eyes, a deep shade of violet that seemed to glow faintly, scanned the group with a serene attentiveness before she gestured gracefully, inviting the group to follow her. Her movements were fluid and precise, each step measured and purposeful, as if she were gliding rather than walking.

The lobby quickly gave way to a standard sized passageway. It was no less eloquent with its smooth, polished walls adorned with intricate metallic inlays that caught the light and shimmered subtly as they moved past. The floor beneath their feet was a glossy black, almost mirror-like, with soft lighting embedded along the edges, casting a gentle glow that guided their steps forward. The air was filled with a faint, calming scent—an unusual blend of mineral freshness mixed with something floral, perhaps an homage to Port Dongfeng's connection to both the raw earth and the refined elegance of its design.

Small alcoves lined the walls at regular intervals, each containing a unique piece of art or a holographic display showcasing the Fujiko Development Corporation's and Ryu Keiretsu's various achievements and projects, as well as history about the Tange System and the people of the region. The woman leading them moved with the same measured grace as before, her presence both reassuring and slightly enigmatic. The passageway seemed to stretch on just long enough to allow the guests to absorb their surroundings, to feel the weight of the history on display to sink in.

They approached a set of double doors with the FDC's logo on both, a hexagonal shape with a black border and a white outline, enclosing three smaller hexagons arranged in a triangular pattern. The top blue hexagon represented the Yamatai Star Empire, the red below it for the Nepleslian Reds, and the Onyx hexagon to the right for the Ryu-Mizumitsu Clan. With a slight bow, she placed her hand on the access panel for the doors to slide open to reveal a spacious conference room.

"The meeting room has been prepared to your specifications. Refreshments will be served shortly. If there are any further arrangements you would like, I am at your disposal." she continued, stepping aside to allow the group to enter. Within it were two individuals, a dark-skinned male and a light skinned female that stood up in a measured manner. The well-dressed man had a strong and commanding presence. With medium to dark skin tone, a neatly trimmed beard, and closely cropped hair, he towered over his female counterpart dressed in a tailored executive dress with jade accents. There were subtle hints in the construction of her dress that it provided much more protection than one would expect from such clothing.

"Ahhh, greetings!" the man said as his looked at the larger crowd of individuals than he expected. Luckily for him, the meeting room also had a large table for meetings in the back. While he much prefers more intimate negotiations where he was clearly see the body language of those he is speaking to, it didn't really matter how he would do it in the end. "Welcome to the Baitian Hotel. I am Sun Horatio and this is the Deputy Head of the Yugumo Workers Federation's Local Office in Port Dongfeng, Chen Aizi. If you want to hire the proud local people of the Tange System, she is the one you will want to talk to." Horatio said, prompting Aizi bow just enough to be very respectful.

"I am merely here as an observer. As far as I am aware, the Motoyoshi Clan has not made a requirement of a fixed percentage of your workforce to be local workers. But regardless I strongly hope you will consider the proud men and women of this system for your labor needs." Aizi said, giving her opening pitch for the YWF's services.

"Feilin, contact the hotel that we need more chairs and more food." Horatio wordlessly said to the woman at the door, using his private communication channel to do so. With a slight bow towards him, Feilin disappeared from sight as she glided back towards the lobby.

Astrid and Alice remained silent as the lift ascended, each lost in their thoughts, mentally preparing for the meeting that awaited them. They focused on controlling their expressions, their demeanor, and the strategies they would employ. The gravity of their mission weighed heavily on their minds, and both women knew that first impressions would be crucial.

The cavernous lobby before them unfolded like a scene from a dream. Towering atriums stretched high above, their vaulted ceilings adorned with holographic constellations that twinkled and shifted, mimicking the night sky. The constellations seemed to dance, creating an illusion of endless space, as if the stars themselves had been brought within reach. The ethereal beauty of the holograms captivated Astrid and Alice, momentarily pulling them out of their focused state and into a sense of wonder.

A gentle hum of ambient music filled the air, blending seamlessly with the soft, soothing sounds of artificial waterfalls. The crystalline walls, down which the water cascaded, shimmered like polished diamonds, reflecting the twinkling lights from above. The combination of sound and sight created a symphony of tranquility, a stark contrast to the bustling industrial environment they had just left behind.

As they ventured further into the area, Astrid and Alice took in the sight of guests lounging in luxurious seating areas. The furniture was plush, upholstered in rich fabrics that exuded comfort and elegance. Guests sipped from delicate glasses, their conversations muted and relaxed, attended to by elegantly dressed Iris-Type androids and more mechanical-looking service units. The androids moved with grace and precision, their presence adding to the atmosphere of refinement and service.

The air was filled with the subtle scent of exotic incense, a fragrance that was both soothing and invigorating. It mingled with the other sensory elements, completing the atmosphere of opulence and relaxation. Every detail had been designed to create a space that was not just luxurious but also a haven, a place where the pressures of the outside world seemed to melt away.

Astrid and Alice exchanged a brief glance, both recognizing the significance of their surroundings. This was more than just a lobby—it was a statement of power, wealth, and influence. The Fujiko Development Corporation had spared no expense in creating an environment that would impress and perhaps even intimidate its visitors. It was clear that they were entering a space where every interaction would be scrutinized, every gesture analyzed.

With renewed focus, they stepped forward, ready to navigate the opulent surroundings and the delicate negotiations that lay ahead. The grandeur of the Baitian Hotel was a reminder of the stakes involved, but also of the opportunities that awaited them if they could successfully align the Mining Guild with such powerful allies.

Alice’s keen eyes quickly picked up on the woman, despite the subtlety of her semi-metallic silver skin that blended elegantly with the luxurious surroundings. Dressed in a traditional Lianjia qixiong ruqun style dress, the woman exuded a serene and composed presence, almost otherworldly in its grace. The dress, with its flowing lines and intricate patterns, was a fusion of cultural heritage and modern design, perfectly complementing her unique appearance.

As she approached, Alice noted the woman’s deep violet eyes, which seemed to possess a faint, almost ethereal glow. These eyes, though striking, did not distract from the overall harmony of her features; instead, they added an air of mystery and wisdom, hinting at an origin that was not from the Motoyoshi Colonial Sector.

Alice, always observant, admired the woman’s ability to blend seamlessly into her role while still commanding attention. There was something about her that set her apart from the others in the room—perhaps it was the way she carried herself, or the subtle hints in her accent that suggested a rich cultural background.

As the woman led them through the grand lobby, Alice exchanged a brief glance with Astrid. Both women recognized that their guide was no ordinary staff member; she was someone with significant training and experience, someone who understood the nuances of dealing with high-profile guests. This was further emphasized by the careful way she managed their introduction, ensuring that they felt welcomed without overwhelming them.

The atmosphere around them remained one of opulence and tranquility, with the ambient music and the scent of exotic incense creating a soothing backdrop for their passage. The other guests continued to lounge in their luxurious seating areas, seemingly oblivious to the presence of the Mining Guild representatives, but Alice knew better. The way the woman guided them, subtly steering them through the space with practiced ease, was designed to maintain their privacy while still showcasing the grandeur of the setting.

Alice couldn’t help but wonder about the woman’s origins and the story behind her unusual appearance. The accent, the metallic sheen of her skin, and the way she carried herself all hinted at a background that was both rich and complex. But for now, Alice put those thoughts aside, focusing on the task at hand. The woman’s presence, like everything else in this environment, was likely part of a carefully curated experience meant to impress and perhaps even subtly influence their perceptions.

Astrid and Alice followed the woman through the elegantly adorned passageway, the ambiance around them rich with the scent of incense and the soft glow of ambient lighting. As they walked, Astrid took a moment to smile at their guide, appreciating the woman’s serene demeanor and the way she had seamlessly anticipated their needs. The woman informed them with a polite nod that the meeting had been arranged according to their specifications and assured them that refreshments would arrive shortly. Astrid returned the nod with a warm smile, silently acknowledging the impeccable attention to detail that had gone into preparing for their arrival.

Alice, ever observant, noted the woman’s attentiveness. Every movement was precise, every gesture designed to ensure their comfort without being intrusive. The woman’s demeanor reminded Alice of Yoko Takashashi, the assistant recently assigned to help her and Sora. Yoko had a similar way of anticipating needs, a quiet efficiency that made her an invaluable asset. This comparison brought a sense of reassurance to Alice, knowing that the woman guiding them shared a level of professionalism that could only enhance the proceedings.

As they approached the meeting hall, the grandeur of their surroundings only intensified. The doors before them were tall, carved with intricate designs that hinted at the importance of what lay beyond. When the doors swung open, they revealed a spacious hall, where two individuals were waiting—a dark-skinned man and a light-skinned woman, both of whom carried an air of authority and distinction.

Alice, ever the diplomat, stepped forward with a gracious smile, her posture conveying both respect and confidence. "Greetings, sir, and ma'am," she began, her voice carrying the right mix of warmth and formality. "We are honored to meet both of you. I am Alice Sursilvan, Mining Guild's Corporate Diplomatic Ambassador, and this is Astrid Kurosaki, the CEO of the Mining Guild. We are honored for this chance to meet both of you."

Astrid, standing beside Alice, remained poised and dignified, her presence a silent affirmation of the Mining Guild's stature and intent. Her calm demeanor and steady gaze indicated that she was ready for whatever lay ahead, confident in the preparations that had been made and in the skills of her diplomatic ambassador.

As they took their places at the table, Astrid and Alice both felt the weight of the moment. The discussions that were about to unfold would shape the future of their relationships with the Fujiko Development Corporation and the Yugumo Workers Federation. But as they settled in, the calm efficiency of their guide and the serene atmosphere of the room served as a reminder that they were well-prepared. They were ready to engage, to negotiate, and to forge new alliances that would benefit all parties involved.

"Indeed, we are very interested in hiring members of the Yugumo Workers Federation," Astrid began, her voice measured and thoughtful, as she addressed both Sun Horatio and Chen Aizi. Her words carried the weight of careful consideration, indicating that this was not merely a formal statement but a genuine offer of collaboration. "This interest is particularly strong given the Mining Guild's already well-developed relationship with your organization."

Astrid’s gaze shifted momentarily, making brief but meaningful eye contact with both individuals across the table. She was aware of the significance of this meeting, not just as a discussion of mutual interests but as a pivotal moment in strengthening ties between their organizations. Her approach was strategic—she understood that the success of any partnership rested not only on shared goals but also on mutual respect and understanding of each other's capabilities.

"We are also very interested in hiring locals," Astrid continued, her tone softening slightly to emphasize her sincerity. "We believe in the value of community engagement and understand that hiring locally fosters stronger relationships and trust. Moreover, it allows us to integrate more seamlessly into the local workforce, bringing the Mining Guild’s opportunities directly to the people who know the area best."

There was a subtle shift in Astrid’s demeanor as she spoke, a reflection of her deep commitment to this principle. She knew that by hiring locally, the Mining Guild could not only strengthen its operations but also contribute to the socioeconomic development of the regions in which it operated. This, in turn, would build goodwill and create a foundation for long-term success.

"We don’t have a fixed number of positions in mind," Astrid admitted, her candor a strategic move to show flexibility and openness. "Our approach is tailored to the needs and ambitions of the individuals we hire. If an employee wishes to work for the Mining Guild in any of our divisions, we will provide the necessary training and education. This is especially true when it comes to our advanced technology, which may be unfamiliar to some."

Astrid paused, allowing her words to sink in. Her offer was not just about filling positions but about investing in people, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving industry. This commitment to education and training was a cornerstone of the Mining Guild’s operations, ensuring that every employee, regardless of their background, had the tools they needed to thrive.

"Speaking of technology," Astrid added, her tone shifting to one of mild curiosity and interest, "during our arrival, I noted a few Dragon-class Mobile Refineries already in operation. It’s good to see that there is some familiarity with our equipment and processes."

Her observation was more than just a casual remark; it was a subtle reminder of the Mining Guild’s established presence and influence. The Dragon-class Mobile Refineries were state-of-the-art, known for their efficiency and adaptability in various environments. Their presence here indicated a prior relationship or at least an awareness of the Mining Guild’s capabilities.

As she concluded, Astrid leaned back slightly, her posture relaxed but her mind still sharp. She had laid out the key points clearly and confidently, leaving room for further dialogue. The ball was now in Sun Horatio and Chen Aizi’s court, but Astrid felt assured that the Mining Guild’s proposals would be met with interest. The combination of local engagement, training opportunities, and technological integration presented a compelling case for partnership, one that would benefit not just the Mining Guild but also the communities they sought to engage with.

Aizi merely nodded her head, fully content with achieving the main objective she was seeking. Having additional resources from another major party putting resources into the system was a good thing. Combined with the resources the Motoyoshi and Ryu-Mizumitsu clans (through their respective corporations), the Tange System is firmly fixed on its path of restored glory the Mishhu took from them. Now if only they could decide on a new name for the system to finally rid them of the taint of the Tange.

Seeing Aizi getting exactly what she wanted, Horatio took full control from their side of the discussions. "The mobile refinery you saw was the the RKS Ryu Misaka of the Ryu Keiretsu's Takeda Minerals and Mining. They do still employ a lot of traditional mining techniques, both laser and manual in their work with a gradual increase in adoption of simply vaporizing the ore into ionized gasses to sort them into their constitute elements.

Nepleslian Research and Manufacturing has fully embraced the latter and looking to gain more understanding of multiStruct to further develop it and related technologies. There is not much reason for the FDC at this time to make use of the Dragon-Class unfortunately. Though that will not certainly prevent it from making its way to the Fujiko Region if there is enough interest for it. As we seed more Nepleslian Red corporations there, its only a matter of time." he said before pausing for a moment.

He then mentally activated a volumetric display on the table to project a simplified blueprint of Port Dongfeng. Each of the major sections of the station have an unique color to indicate the primary function of the section. At the very top was the green section of the station's domed park. Below it in yellow was the trade section that they were currently within. Founding it up was the orange of the industrial section, blue of the engineering and landing sphere, and red of the outer "petals" that acted as shipyards and port.

"In anticipation of that you wish to establish your Yamataian office here, the Ryu Keiretsu is willing to lease the entirety of Sector 3 of the business ring and its associated petal for the following price and conditions." Horatio said before producing a sleek NRM "N45 series" tablet from within a jacket. He handed it to Nadia sitting next to him who then reached over the table to hand it over to Alice (since she was the main diplomat).

The document stored on the device was an usually long but boring legal document regarding the rental prices that were more expensive monthly (by 30%) compared to paying annually. The strangest detail in the document was that the rental cost included Bronze Tier Corporate FDC membership for members of the Mining Guild, implying that the Territorial Administration Service was still responsible for governance of sector 3.

"This of course does not count the inner residential ring, but I am sure we will be able to locate appropriate housing with ease." Horatio said with a slight hint of a grin. "How familiar are you with the Fujiko Trade and Cultural Exchange Office?" he asked as a number of service androids entered the room with Feilin carrying additional sitting for anyone still standing. As they androids exited, Feilin just merely stood over by the door and watched over both the table to properly coordinate the pair of service workers already in the room placing down glasses of wine in front of the delegates.

Alice accepted the tablet from Nadia, her eyes quickly scanning over the document that described the proposed terms for leasing Sector 3 of the business ring within Port Dongfeng. As she read through the details, her mind raced to process the implications of the offer and to formulate a strategic response. The mention of a Bronze Tier Corporate FDC membership for members of the Mining Guild was an unexpected twist, hinting at additional benefits and responsibilities that came with the lease agreement.

Alice noted the rental prices and the conditions outlined in the document, mentally calculating the potential costs and benefits of leasing Sector 3 for the Mining Guild's Yamataian office. The monthly pricing, while higher compared to the annual rate, hinted at a flexible arrangement that allowed for greater control over the terms of the lease. The inclusion of FDC membership could provide access to a network of resources and opportunities, expanding the Mining Guild's reach within the Tange System and beyond.

As the service androids entered the room and additional seating was arranged, Alice composed herself, ready to respond to Sun Horatio's inquiries. She appreciated his directness and the clarity of his offer, which indicated a readiness to engage in open dialogue and negotiations. Taking a moment to gather her thoughts, she met Horatio's gaze with a calm and attentive expression.

"Familiarizing ourselves with the Fujiko Trade and Cultural Exchange Office is one of our top priorities," Alice began, her tone diplomatic yet firm. "We understand the importance of establishing strong relationships within the Tange System and with key partners like the Fujiko Development Corporation. Our goal is not just to establish an office but to foster a sense of collaboration and mutual benefit that will drive our shared success."

Alice's words were carefully chosen, emphasizing the Mining Guild's commitment to building long-term partnerships based on trust and respect. She recognized the significance of the Fujiko Trade and Cultural Exchange Office as a hub for connecting diverse cultures and facilitating trade relationships. This understanding was key to navigating the complexities of doing business in a region with such rich cultural and economic diversity.

"As we move forward with the lease agreement for Sector 3, we will ensure that the terms align with our goals and values," Alice continued, her voice steady and confident. "We value transparency and fair dealings in all our business ventures, and we look forward to working closely with the Fujiko Development Corporation to ensure a smooth and mutually beneficial relationship."

Her response was measured and diplomatic, hinting at the Mining Guild's intention to approach the lease agreement with a spirit of cooperation and goodwill. By emphasizing shared values and a commitment to ethical business practices, Alice hoped to establish a foundation of trust that would underpin their future interactions.

"We are eager to explore the possibilities that this partnership offers," Alice concluded, her gaze shifting from Sun Horatio to Chen Aizi and back. "We see great potential in working together to create a thriving and sustainable presence within the Tange System. By leveraging our respective strengths and resources, we can not only achieve our individual goals but also contribute to the growth and development of this region."

With those final words, Alice passed the tablet back to Nadia, signifying the Mining Guild's readiness to engage in further discussions and negotiations. The ball was now in their hosts' court, and Alice remained poised and attentive, ready to navigate the complexities of the upcoming dialogue and to forge a path toward a successful partnership that would benefit all parties involved.

Sun Horatio leaned back slightly in his chair, his sharp eyes briefly locking with Alice’s as a small, calculating smile tugged at the corner of his mouth.

"Ms. Sursilvan," he began, his voice smooth and authoritative, carrying the subtle undertone of a man accustomed to getting his way, "your enthusiasm and vision align remarkably well with the strategic direction our partners in the Ryu Keiretsu have been developing for the Tange System, with our support managing day to day governance of this port of course. The potential for a partnership here is indeed vast, but as with all ventures of such magnitude, the devil is in the details."

He paused, allowing his words to hang in the air, his gaze steady and unyielding as he surveyed the Mining Guild delegation. "The offer of Sector 3 in the business ring is more than just prime real estate. It's a gateway—a direct feed to the nexus this station regarding future development of this system and to the greater Yamatai Star Empire. This is partially enhanced with the included non-voting membership in the FDC. You not only have to not worry about day to day activties like security, but you also gain access to a network of business alliances that extend beyond these walls into the Fujiko Region and the Ryu Keiretsu. While the Keiretsu may be smaller compared to those like the Yugumo Corporation, they and the FDC represent as alternative sources of for resources."

Sun Horatio’s smile widened ever so slightly, a gesture that was more calculated than warm. "In return, the Fujiko Development Corporation and, by extension, the Nepleslian Reds, look forward to developing joint projects with the Mining Guild. Recently we have begun establishing a presence on Arzank System near Ukmirt. One particular planet, Arzank II, is rich with untapped resources. A partnership between our organizations could unlock its full potential, ensuring that both our interests are secured in this lucrative venture."

He leaned forward, his tone dropping slightly to convey a sense of shared confidence and mutual benefit. "And while the focus of our discussions might be on mining operations and economic expansion, I believe there are other areas where our collaboration could prove invaluable. For instance, our research divisions are always keen to explore new technologies, particularly those that can enhance our operational capabilities. I am sure there is much our engineers and scientists can learn from each other."

Sun Horatio let that implication settle before continuing. "Finally due to Arzank being on the other side of the Empire and your potential center of operations would be here, there is the matter of security of the Fujiko-Tange Route to be established. We can choose the safer but slower route through the core of the empire or we can establish a more direct route though the southern frontier. Strategic security of the route is a matter of mutual concern, given the volatile nature of the region.

By extenstion that we are Reds, we do have considerable experience in handling such threats, allowing the Star Army of Yamatai to focus on more pressing concerns than mere pirates and bandits. But I believe integrating your security capabilities into our framework could create a formidable defense against any external aggressors. It would be a show of strength, a statement that our partnership is not just about profit, but about ensuring stability and safety for all who operate within this sector."

He folded his hands on the table, the picture of calm authority. "In summary, Ms. Sursilvan, Ms. Kurosaki, what we are discussing here is more than just a business arrangement. It is the foundation of a strategic alliance that could reshape the power dynamics in this region. An alliance where both our organizations emerge stronger, more prosperous, and more influential than ever before. I trust that we are in agreement on the potential such a partnership holds."

Sun Horatio’s gaze lingered on Alice and Astrid, his expression expectant yet inscrutable, as if daring them to seize the opportunities he had so laid out to them.

As Sun Horatio laid out his vision for a strategic alliance with the Mining Guild, Alice and Astrid listened intently, absorbing the implications of his words and the potential for collaboration that he presented. The offer of Sector 3 in the business ring, along with the benefits of a non-voting membership in the Fujiko Development Corporation, signaled a significant opportunity for the Mining Guild to establish a strong presence and gain access to a network of alliances and resources.

Alice recognized the strategic importance of Sector 3 as a gateway to the development of the Tange System and its connection to the greater Yamatai Star Empire. The inclusion of security management and access to business alliances through the FDC membership added layers of value to the proposed partnership. Sun Horatio's mention of joint projects and the potential for collaboration on research and technology further underscored the depth and breadth of the alliance being discussed.

As Sun Horatio shifted the focus to the Arzank System and the potential for joint ventures on Arzank II, Alice saw the scope of the partnership expanding beyond mining operations to encompass broader economic and technological endeavors. The prospect of unlocking untapped resources and advancing research and development initiatives held great promise for both organizations.

When the topic turned to security and the strategic considerations of the Fujiko-Tange Route, Alice understood the importance of establishing a secure and efficient transportation network. The choice between the safer but slower route through the core of the empire or the more direct route through the southern frontier posed unique challenges and opportunities. The idea of integrating security capabilities to enhance defense against external threats resonated with Alice, as she saw the potential for a comprehensive approach to safeguarding the interests of both parties.

As Sun Horatio concluded his remarks, emphasizing the transformative nature of the proposed alliance, Alice met his expectant gaze with a quiet confidence. She recognized the power and potential of such a partnership, not just in terms of economic growth but also in shaping the landscape of influence and stability in the region. The strategic alignment between the Mining Guild and the Fujiko Development Corporation presented a rare opportunity to leverage their strengths and capabilities for mutual benefit.

"I am in agreement with the potential benefits that this partnership holds," Alice replied, her voice measured and decisive. "The vision you have outlined aligns closely with our own goals and values. The Mining Guild is committed to fostering collaborations that are not just profitable but also transformative, benefiting all parties involved. We see great potential in joining forces with the Fujiko Development Corporation and the Reds to drive innovation, economic growth, and security in the Tange System and beyond."

Alice glanced at Astrid, acknowledging the silent exchange of understanding and unity between them. They both knew that this strategic alliance had the power to reshape the dynamics of the region and create lasting change for the better. With a nod of affirmation, Alice conveyed their readiness to move forward with the discussions and to explore the full scope of the partnership that Sun Horatio had outlined.

"As proof of our willingness to collaborate on projects, I need only mention the Pegasus-class Prospector Starship, our Scout ship, which has been built in collaboration between our Mining Guild and Yugumo Corporation." Alice removed a datapad, and pressed a button which showed the mention ship on display including its capabilities.
