Halna System - Forces of the First Expeditionary Fleet launched a surprise attack on hostile terrorist faction known as the Freespacers, who were hiding just outside Yamataian space.

The Freespacers had recently begun to invade parts of Halna, an unaffiliated system inhabited primarily by illegals, in preparation to attack the civilian infrastructure of Yamatai.

The attack was a resounding success, with the military performing a massive door to door search and rounding up all the Freespacer militants. Causalities other than Freespacers were minimal, despite Freespacer terrorists' attempts at setting off nuclear devices in civilian cities.

The Freespacers were recently discovered to be hostile when they attempted to ally with the Mishhuvurthyar and asked the infamous warlord Melisson for weapons. In response, new Empress Katsuko ordered that this invasion be stopped early.

An Imperial spokesman informed us that the Empress is pleased with the Clensing of Helna.

"Taisho Ketsurui Yui has proven herself once again, this is just a drop in the bucket of victories and achievements for the Taisho. The Empress is happy with the results of the Helna Operation. In the coming months the Empress has expressed the desire for the military to be more proactive in eliminating factions that could later develop into serious threats towards the security of the Empire."

Crowned Motoyoshi Tio, however, was unavailable for comment. The Prince being a strong advocate of humanitarian and social reform, and in general a representative of the family generally against military action is however rumored to be against the operation. The Imperial spokesperson when confronted with this rumor merely stated that the Prince tends to act in balance with his mother, who is very supportive of the military. "Together they tend to provide us with a balanced approach to these matters, and provide the imperial family support on all sides of the issues."
