RP: 5th XF [Side] Meeting a Fresh New Face

The power armor entered one of Hotaru's many bays, coming to a halt as the pilot disengaged their CFS. The black, and red striped armor landed on the deck with the dull 'clank' of metal meeting metal. A technician came trotting up as the pilot began removing the helmet from their head. Once the helmet was off the technician took it, and bowed.

"Have a good run ma'am?" She asked, holding the helmet under an arm as she lifted herself from the deep bow. The pilot shook her head, getting the silver, and dark blond streaked hair out of her face. Her sapphire blue eyes looked to the technician and she merely nodded.

"Yes, but the armor is running a little sluggish." She replied. The technician blinked, nodded, and then bowed.

"I will get right on it Tomori-Shosho."

Rina nodded at this, and waited for the armor to open itself up. She then exited, and walked to a nearby table, and donned a clean and pressed uniform. She then fixed her belt about her waist, and her rank pin on her chest. The Shosho sighed as she opened a volumetric window, checking her 'to-do' list so to speak. Being a Shosho, and the OOD kept her busy most of the time.

The Neko waited patiently nearby as the Shosho changed into a new uniform. Nitô Juni Faye Kikoru adjusted her rank pin slightly before walking up to her new CO. Her bow was long and polite as she introduced herself, "Ma'am, my name is Nitô Juni Faye Kikoru. I have been assigned as your personal aide. How may I serve you, Tomori-Shosho?" After straightening up again, Faye waited patiently for Rina to respond. I'd never thought I would be an aide to someone of such rank, she thought to herself silently.

Rina frowned a little as she was interrupted. The Shosho turned to see just who this person was, and to get a better view. She silently wondered if this was Misato's doing. Or rather Katsuko's. The Shosho merely nodded in introduction.

"You can start by telling me about yourself I suppose."

Faye was a bit startled at this. She had never really been ordered to talk about herself before. "I..." she started, "I am told that I am easy-going but still a harder worker. I like to read history books and formulate strategies for battle simulations on my free time. I don't really like sweet things. They give me a stomach ache." She decided not to mention about her love for singing. Not that it mattered anyways. The Shosho was probably already bored to death by her. The Neko decided to just leave it at that.

"Hmm I see." Rina merely nodded, and re-adjusted her belt. "Well then, I have nothing to do as of right now. I am officially off duty." The Shosho replied and began walking away at a leisurely pace. Hrm, a work-a-holic it seems. She thought to herself.

Faye just blinked as the Shosho walked off. What was she supposed to do now? She was unfamiliar with this ship and its crew. This didn't help her normal unsociability at all. The neko sighed as she tried to think of something to do.

"Are you coming?" Rina asked from a short distance away. A technician had stopped her, and was speaking to her. The Shosho nodded, patted the technician on the shoulder who now seemed to be wearing a nervous smile as she walked away.

This surprised Faye. She had not expected Rina to have her follow her. She was not sure why the Shosho wanted to have her around on off-duty hours. The Neko aide quickly brushed these questions aside for now and hurried over to Rina's side, though still a little behind her.

"If you are hungry, I was about to go and have some dinner. You are welcome to join me." Rina offered, since she was off duty the Shosho was a little kinder then before as she walked. The woman looked over her shoulder, seeing Faye following behind her, and frowned.

"I am off duty, meaning no need to stand on ceremony walk beside me, please?" She asked before carrying on her pace to the elevators, and from there the concourse level.

Faye was a little hungry... After she heard the Shosho's comment about the the way she walked, the Neko quickly whispered, "Sorry, ma'am," and walked right next to her all of the way to the elevators. Rina seemed kinder, less commanding, now. Could a person really act differently while off-duty? This confused Faye a bit, but then again, most things about people confused her as well.

Rina stood in the elevator, her hands behind her back as it quickly rose up to the concourse level. The Shosho stepped out, and awaited Faye.

"So, Faye, what would you care to have today? Since you are starting out as my aide, I figure I will treat us to whatever you'd like."

Being treated to a meal of her preference did sound nice, but Faye was unsure if Rina was joking or not. After a moment of thought, the neko responded, "Well, what about kani-cream korokke?" That was one of her favorite meals, especially the crab meat that is in it.

"Hmmm sounds good to me." Rina nodded a little as she walked. The Shosho found a place that served them through her access to PANTHEON. Once found, she began to lead Faye to the place. "So, how exactly did you become chosen as my aide?" She asked.

As Faye walked with Rina, she hesitantly replied, "I-I'm not exactly sure. I requested a transfer to a starship, but they couldn't find a place for a strategist. I almost gave up hope of ever getting a starship position until this aide position suddenly opened up. I... I was thrilled to work under someone of such standing as yourself, ma'am." The neko briefly smiled before returning to her usual emotionless state.

"Well, I hope you are a hard worker. Out here we have to fend for ourselves." Rina replied, wearing a frown as she now stood outside of the restaurant. Leading Faye inside, a hostess went wide-eyed, and bowed. "W..W..Welcome Tomori-Shosho, do you wish to be seated?" The NH-29 nekovalkyrja squeaked out seeing Rina standing there in uniform.

The Shosho bowed a little. "Yes, for two please." The woman asked politely as the waitress jumped, and 'hopped to' so to speak. They were soon ushered into a booth, and the girl placed two menus down, one in front of each of them. "May I ask what you both would like to drink?"

Faye simply nodded to the Shosho's comment. She was a pretty hard worker, though sometimes just a little unmotivated. Once they were seated in the booth, the aide looked at the menu. "Hm..." she said softly, "I will just take some water..." She wasn't much of a drinker, and most of the non-alcoholic beverages on the menu didn't seem to appear satisfying. Now, it was Rina's turn to pick something to drink.

"Peach wine." Rina finally ordered, after having gone over the menu. "Preferably young and sweet." The waitress bowed, and scampered away to fill their orders. Rina meanwhile having found what she wanted merely closed the menu, and folded her fingers together, propping her chin up.

"Let me ask you a question, you can be as honest as you want to be about it, and as truthful. Rest assured you won't offend me." She looked over at a passing Chui and nodded, the Chui just stared a moment a look of minor nervousness, and a slight pink tinge to her cheeks and disappeared back to her booth.

"Am I what you expected?"

Faye was a little surprised by the sudden bluntness of her question, but answered anyways, "Actually, ma'am, from what I've seen, you are not exactly what I expected. However..." Her look seemed to soften a bit. "I am also pleased to find that you are not what I expected." A brief smile passed her lips before returning to normal.

"Oh?" Was all Rina said, lifting an elegant eyebrow just a tad as the waitress came back with their drinks. A glass of ice cold water for Faye, and a glass of peach wine for Rina. The Shosho lifted the glass, and brought it up, swirling the contents a little and sniffing delicately, taking in the soft scent of peaches.

She sipped a little, and nodded. The waitress seemed pleased since now she wore a smile. "What would you both like to order?" She asked, taking out a data pad to jot the orders down.

Rina looked to Faye now. "Well, you get to order for the two of us. I'm paying, so feel free to order anything you wish for the both of us."

Faye nodded, but did not explain any further. She took a short gulp of the ice cold water. The cool liquid was soothing as it went down her throat. Afterwards, she looked up at the waitress and asked, "Two orders of kani-cream korokke please?" The neko then turned back to Rina and said, "Thank you for your generous offer." Her head bowed slightly in respect.
