Well, I've found a replacement tool that's capable of exporting to even high end graphical packages. It doesn't include parts but the level of control is immense because you directly edit the model instead of parts.
And you can export parts to files which can then be combined and shared with other users. So say, if you build a rifle or a unit, you could separate the arms, legs, head, etc and let people customize what you built.
There are also plugins that support things like working in scale, special materials, physics, even material and flesh like stuff and texture generation if you look around long enough.
It's called Google-SketchUp and it rocks. It's also free.
