Physical Characteristics

Height: 177.8 cm
Weight: 70.3 kg
Measurements:
Bra Size:

Build and Skin Colour: Itaranai's athletic body type screams "endurance." He's not burly, but not scrawny at all. He is very lean, but has muscle to pile on top of those bones. His complexion is average African bronze, somewhat darkened by the constant sun exposure.
Facial Features and Eye Colour: Clean shaven face, predominately crimson red eyes, with a small violet ring in the middle.
Hair Colour and Style: Silvery-White hair color, kept straightened and short, not extending past the top of the neck, small, furry Neko ears sticking from the sides of his head

Distinguishing Features: A treble clef, with fiery intonations, tattooed into his shoulder.

Psychological Characteristics

Personality:
Itaranai is a mysterious figure. He doesn't talk much about himself, seemingly more interested in other people. He also seems to have somewhat of an inferiority complex at times. Rather shy and usually skulking either to a dark room or the roof of a tall building, he's rarely ever seen interacting with others. His lonesome nature is also seen on the battlefield, where he keeps silent and strikes only at the opportune moment.

Likes: Music of all types. Has no discrimination against any type, but prefers symphonic. Is not a picky eater, and is known to munch on termites for a snack.
Dislikes: Has an innate fear of Nekos, fearing their battle superiority. Also has a slight fear of people in general.
Goals: To give himself purpose and prove that he isn't worthless.

History

Born (Built) as a Geshrin, Itaranai was raised under the household of a lower-middle class family. Awkwardly enough, he was built with Aniridia, a condition characterized by an extremely underdeveloped iris which appears absent. In addition, he was involved in an accident at the age of but 6 months old in which his body was flung from the windshield of a car and head first onto the street. This aside, Itaranai lived a generally normal life, minus often being teased by the Yamataians because of his decision to keep his "obsolete" body.

Time passed on, and for several years Itaranai was the butt of many jokes and crude teasing by his "peers" (read: bullies) in school. After a while, he became very detached with his life, feeling that he should have died in that car accident, feeling infinatly inferior to the "upgraded" ones. He felt that even if he were to upgrade he would still be of no use to society. However, he couldn't just stand by and allow himself to wallow in a pool of sorrow.

Itaranai fell victim to the new "fad" of upgrading, finding his new body to be so much more powerful than his last. Still, the idea of throwing his very mortal soul into a new body still irks him. Nevertheless, he sees this as a chance to prove that he isn't completely useless, not only to those who teased him, but also to himself. So, at the age of 18, he joined the Star Army of Yamatai.

Skills

Communications: Although his handwriting is poor, Itaranai has honed his communication skills from a combination of high school theater and college interpersonal communications.

Fighting: Basic Training has given Itaranai skill in small and large arms, grenades, blades, CQC, and Power Armors. While his ability is subpar to Neko, he is still a rather good marksman and even better up-close-and-personal.

Mathematics: After attending Basic Training, Itaranai learned much about Mathematics. Although specializing in dimensional theory, electrical engineering, and quantum physics, Itaranai also can compute large numbers needed in trigonomitry and the like

Physical: Itaranai has a natural affinity for physical labor, including handling heavy objects and exercises like running and swimming. His high endurance coupled with his sheer stubbornness makes him a glutton for punishment.

Maintenance and Repair: Taking advanced classes in electronics technology during high school, from a vocational college in Shinjuku, allows Itaranai better maintainance skills than the average lackey. He is often seen tinkering with his amplifiers and crystals in his room.

Survival and Military: Military training gives him mental tools needed for hunting, stalking, camoflauge, land navigation, and in general anything needed for living in a jungle or another bad situation.

Technology Operation: Itaranai is capable of operating any computer system that uses the Kessaku OS, found on all Star Army starships. He is proficient in entering and/or searching for information

...<.< >.> I hate those words with a passion...Rouge Rogue...I vote we change the skill name to "Stealth Ops." Not only does it sound cooler, but it's less confuzzling.

Itaranai lived a generally normal life
vs
Years of training has given Itaranai skill in small and large arms, grenades, blades, CQC, and Power Armors.

Rogue: Living on the streets has taught Itaranai much about picking-locks, pick-pocketing, stalking, and such
But there's no poverty on Yamatai. ^_^;

Mathmatics: Although specializing in dimensional theory, electrical engineering, and quantum physics, Itaranai also can compute large numbers needed in trigonomitry and the like
It doesn't say where he learned these specialties.

But the Black Spiral (well, Pumpkin says) that there's poverty everywhere in Yamatai outside of it's privileged upper class. x_x

Explain? More information might help the original poster flesh out his desired background better.

I assumed Weapons Training from like...basic training, and Mathematics from school. Heck, last time I checked they still teach Trig. and Physics in High School, and I was HOPE the Star Army would train their soldiers how to use their weapons.

As for Rouge...Rogue...Stealth Ops, I pulled the "pick-pocketing, lock-picking, etc," straight from the CCG. Where else would he learn these techniques?

Pumpkin meant that outside of Yamatai itself and its favorite colonies, there is a lack of support. Worlds like Lor and such haven't been able to share in Yamatai's paradise.

Thanks. Sorry, I brought this in here.

To return to the submission: the scars on the characters body might not be there after all - the Yamataian body does have the ability to regenerate wounds enough so that no blemish would typically remain.

Lord Wes. *chuckles*

Generally, using the Kyoto War College is a sure way of being able to justify well gaining advanced knowledge which could benefit the military.

I'm not sure of how I can help you with Rogue. I can see it as a useful skill for breaking and entering places other don't want you to go (decent boarding party skill - though demolition could arguably do the same job) or being able to do cloak-and-dagger spy stuff... but I don't actually know the occupation you're aiming for (that's in the Character Creation Guide: there's a list for the Star Army of Yamatai). I'd be good to know what your character aimed to train for the army.

That wouldn't work because that'd make him an officer, and new players don't have the experience required to lead plots and players.

*wince* ah. Alright. Are there any other known institution the Star Army or the SARA uses to train its yamataian soldiers then?

Basic Training, lol.

We really need to get that training ship going.

Considering all members of the SAY have to have Math-e-matics, one must wonder how the other members bypassed this issue. So, if we're sticking to my suggestion of Basic Training, I'll edit that.

In addition, I was planning on making this character a Combat Arm, although running more along the lines or stealth and recon. Survival was implemented for camouflage and such, to supplement his Fighting skills, more specifically Sniping. Physical should be obvious. Rogue was to be for stalking enemies and staying silent, hence the ability to pick locks.

Edit: Actually, I think I might just make it Maintenance and Repair instead, if Rogue is too big of an issue, or if you think that stealth and recon wouldn't be covered by that.

It's probably a good idea to go for that change. Repairing stuff is good technical expertise which can come in handy, while rogue skills are not always well represented in-character - especially considering the opponents they might be used in relation to (the nekos and the Mishhuvurthyar, both boasting high sensory capabilities and high technology which would be hard to crack - and players can't really be computer hackers so that sort of ruins that angle for you).

Maintenance and Repair would, with your skill at using power armor, likely make your character be good at using and handling his equipment way above his average colleague (whom typically can only do simple stuff).

I think its a good choice. Skill at stalking could perhaps we worked up in survival (to stay stealthy) or earned later with the collaboration of a Game Master.
