You might be able to bypass that if you change the "E" to lowercase...then it could refer to the ground, soil, dirt, mulch, loam, clay...

Yeah. Lowercase will work.
 
I think you're missing the point (which is that it transcends from the imaginary Star Army universe into the real world).
