Star Army's 2020 In Review

With only about a week left of 2020, it's a great time to look back at all the achievements Star Army had this year!

• We conducted a community meeting every month! These meetings were fun, helped us come together as a community, and brought people into the site
• We had community spotlight threads to highlight people being awesome, like Whisper
• In March, we voted to align OOC and IC months at a 2:1 ratio and extend the IC Year to 1.5 OOC years for YE 43 and YE 44.
• We voted to keep the Titan forum style
• When the pandemic struck, Star Army formed an Anti-Coronavirus team that used our computers to conduct protein simulations to find cures and a support channel on Discord to talk about the virus and help each other get through this rough time
• In March we also ran a successful advertising campaign on Facebook during the initial shutdown hoping people would use their time at home to come RP with us
• We also had a super popular Hanami Festival open RP that helped us party and socialize in the RP while we were stuck home IRL
• This was followed by the Unity Festival!
• We had our biggest combat Open RP ever, the Third Battle of Nataria, which changed the trajectory of the Kuvexian War.
• In July, we had a great Open RP for a Summer Beach Party
• We ran the bi-annual International Relations Conference to help factions mingle and negotiate
• When some cool new players arrived, we gave them a warm Welcome to the Kikyo Sector in the newly-developed city of Ternifac
• We added Structured Data to the wiki, vastly improving the way many pages are updated and organized and reducing editing work immensely for some
• Multiple new plots started such as the Ravenica
• Demibear gave the Rikugun a major overhaul
• We laid the foundation RP for the final battle of the Kuvexian War

I'm positive there's more I've forgot to list, but overall we were actually rather productive this year and Star Army's future is strong as long as we keep RPing and participating on the forum (can't just live in the wiki and Discord, hahaha). 2020 was super rough on many of us OOC (especially Andrew, I love you man and keep fighting!) but we made it and we've even managed to have a nice rise in activity as we end the year. And if you're reading this and had to drop out for a while because of IRL stuff, no worries, you're welcome to come back and pick things up again. It's a great time to rejoin. Keep up the great work and RP and I'll see you around in 2021 for YE 43!
