Motherly, so far. She has a lot of patience for her Helashio helpers who, while disciplined, do not always exhibit good judgment. Also makes a fuss if someone is hurt. She does not agree with the outright slavery of the Helashio, which is why hers have no collars. However, she also doesn't like the central government, being a Northerner. Her lack of solidarity with the slavery issue doesn't work well with her caste, but as one who enjoys nature, she kept with it.
Likes: So far, the farming seems to be about it. And her helpers.
Dislikes: Injury.

It's hard to tell whether Suma was cast out or chose her lifestyle. She's obviously used to it. Her house abilities are not exercised much, as she prefers to toil. She was rejected for an animal bond. The entire tunnel structure suggests this, as there's only one source of electrical power. She must read a lot. She went underground in the desert to remove the possibility of town officials becoming irate with seeing Helashio without collars. There is also the benefit of having natural produce grown outside of the greenhouses, which she can charge a premium for. She is the black sheep of her family. Only one brother keeps in touch with her.

Physical prowess: Members of the Lmanel House are expected to maintain their physical strength and stamina, they must be able to run, walk, climb, swim, or even fly, for an extended amount of time. Suma is no exception, but she cannot fly. Living in the north has reinforced this skill.
