Role: The T-F1 "Dragonsbreath" has a great many uses, from being a high heat welding torch useful for cutting down doors and welding pieces of metal together to setting enemies aflame from a reasonable distance away and even turning a clear shot for an enemy into a hazy view of the battlefield.
[primary]: cutting metal with short, high-intenisty flame
[secondary]: Weapon for clearing hallways aboard starships as well as other CQC situations
[tertiary]: obscuring
Length: 24in long
Weight: 4.5ibs

Discharge Information
Ammo Type: Non-Napalm incendiary
Effective Range: 30m
Maximum range: 35m (scorching heat travels further than the flame)
Minimum Range: 0m
Firing Mode:[/u] Constant flame
Recoil N/A

Ammo Description:
The T-F1 "Dragonsbreath" utilizes the nitrogen atoms and oxygen atoms in the atmosphere to create a flame. The T-F1 has a vent on the top near the butt that draws air in and constantly and quickly distills it down to the desired elements, then stores them in seperate compartments. When the "Dragonsbreath" is fired, it can keep a constant flame going for about seven seconds before running out of fuel. It takes about the same amount of time to recharge the T-F1 and refill its compartments. The Nitrogen is combined with other gasses in the air (?) in order to create a flammable gas, while the oxygen that it distills is used to intensify and project the flame.

The T-F1 has a switch on the side that allows the user to switch between the above weaponized function and the tool function, which causes the T-F1 to propel less pure oxygen and more unfiltered air in order to shorten and intensify the flame and in turn cause the user to work longer (about 20 seconds) without having to recharge. The switch also allows the wielder to instead of spraying the enemy with fire they are able to change the molecular composition of the air and make the optics utilized by the enemy, whether they be infrared or normal be inoperable for a short time (about 15 minutes) in that area. This mode does not require the T-F1 to recharge since it is just running the air through the mechanism.

Damage Description: Since the "Dragonsbreath" does not utilize a flamable gel in order to inflict damage on the enemy, the damage is not a guaranteed death if hit by the weapon. It will cause 3rd degree burns on contact, however, and blindness if face is unprotected.

Damage Rating: 2 on weapon mode, 3 on tool mode (more concentrated flame.)

Weapon Mechanisms:
Safety: Yes, two safeties located one above the fire selector and the second on the bottom of the grip.
Fire Mode Selector: Yes, located an inch below the vent near the butt of the T-F1.
Weapon Sight: None
Attachment Hardpoints: None
Really Cool Built-In thingy: None

Visual Description: The T-F1 "Dragonsbreath" looks like a very boxy SMG with a pistol grip and being significantly wider than an SMG.

Did you just think of this one over a few drinks?
If it's going to be made by Galar, you should openly plan making while you're having a drink with the Goban crew before they head off.
In other words, plan it in RP.

If you do that, all will be peachy. If not, you can always pin it on an anonymous designer.

Galar designed it before entering the Star Army but never submitted the design. He will get it submitted before he leaves on his next assignment.

Its the perfect thing for any technical sentry! :D

good point. -changed-

its still not much because its normally a tool that can (however easily) be used as a weapon.

Hmm...tripple posting. Sign of a bad connection =p

At any rate, no, I don't think this has a damage rating of 10. Damage ratings that high are reserved for the main battle cannons on capital ships. A handheld flamethrower isn't going to be near that powerful. I'd drop that rating down to either 1 or 2. Bare in mind that a 3 is equivalent to a tank cannon when deciding the weapon's rating.

yes and no; yes you need a number (using the 0-10 scale found here: https://stararmy.com/setting/damage.html ) but the one you put is far to big for the weapon as described. DR 10 are the heavy aether weapons and uber-guns (legacy cannon, etc) that can utterly annihilate vast areas of space (measured in square megameters). Looking at the damage description I would say a DR of 2 would be appropriate. 3 is a maybe, but that is supposed to be equivalent to a modern tank shot, which is much more damaging than "3rd degree burns on contact".

do any modern armies use personal mounted flame throwers any more? just wondering how pratical the idea is to field.

Shure, bring a flame thrower. I'll be aiming for the large fuel tank.
