Rationale: Saves members from having manually tag everything, can be used on all previous threads to make older Star Army stuff easier to find.

This is a great idea. The price tag is a bit steep though, is that a one time or yearly £35?

35 GBP to get and keep it updated for a year. It will work until the next update if we stall renewal though (e.g. don't renew until necessary lol)

Prefer it to be suggested rather than automatically added.

I keep my tags to a specific format and wouldn't want to lose that because AI automatically added things.

I looks like it does suggest them (after you enter the thread title). If the tag is in the thread title, it adds it automatically, so if I title my post YSS Resurgence, one of the suggested tags will be YSS Resurgence if that's an existing tag.
