[Valaad] Valaad in Flames

Seven Yui-class scout destroyers hyper-jumped into the outer rims of the Valaad system, their sensor and shield systems on maximum settings. The ships began moving toward the system's core at 3c.

(OOC: Gameofthegame has my permission to act as my proxy and fight for the 3XF on my behalf. This goes double for any posts that Wes deems “time sensitive”.)

As the seven starships streaked forward at their highest speed, about 35 hyperspace torpedoes quickly jumped from the central planet towards the incoming fleet, an equal number targeting each ship. It appeared as though the Mishhu had picked up rather easily on the unstealthed vessels.

The 7 Yui-class vessels quickly formed a cluster like formation and turned around in the direction from where they came.

The torps hit their marks, for the most part. Six of the vessels got pegged by the torpedoes, although the vessel kept in the center via the formation wasn't hit by any of the Torpedoes, the ones made for that vessel instead hitting another two Yui scouts. One of the Yui's super structure began to break, and shards of ship began to make a cloud behind the fleeing group of scouts.

As the ships began to flee, a single Xianthrafruglu gunship deactivated its CDD system about .1 AU behind the fleeing ships. It quickly fired its large legacy cannon after them, targeting the heart of the fleet, leaving little time for them to react to the incoming beam.

(OOC: Lol, reference. https://wiki.stararmy.com/doku.php?id=third_expeditionary_fleet)

The central Yui literally stopped at the opposite force from the aether blast for a moment, the debries of the already crumbling scout behind it crashing into the vessel as the rear desperately attempted to launch it's small load of torpedoes. Both were destroyed.

The other Yui class vessels broke formation and spready after taking damage, although the torpedoes hit them, for the most part, on the side the legacy cannon didn't. It left them as extremely weakened vessels, but still operation-savvy. The Power armor teams from the remaining Yui vessels launched, six each from the 5 remaining scouts. The scouts also fired their torpedoes at the gunship infront of them, and their SS pods launched.

Positron beams flew from the Mishhu pods as they scrambled from the gunship, each carefully aimed for the armors. As they did, the Mishhu gunship readied its heavy positron cannons and let loose on the enemy vessels, but quickly was damaged heavily when the torpedoes found there marks. Its hull began to shake apart, but not before it loosed a second and final Legacy cannon blast at the ships.

As the Xianthrafruglu shot down and detonated, extra hyperspace torpedoes arrived from Valaad, once again filled with deadly ordinance.

In the end, the Yui squadron was slaughtered. Truthfully the final legacy blast did it soundly, although the extra torps finished off the derbies, the Power armors, and the SS pods.

Shortly there after, another battle group showed up, late, via hyper jump.

But it was definitely a sizable one. 43 Yui-class scouts and the YSS Jal, a Yuumi class vessel. The battle group quickly went to full speed, moving together with the Jal in the center, toward the Mishhu mass.

The approaching fleet was met with an almost solid wall of torpedoes. Behind that wall appeared a 30-ship Mishhu battle group, centered around its five capital ships, all of them dropping their CDDs instantly about 1 AU from the fleet's position. All the vessels unleashed about half their total payloads of torpedoes, and once they were well on their way to wreaking damage on their opponents, they were quickly followed by a number of Subspace Tunneling weapons, the fearsome main weapons of the Mishhu war fleet.

The central battleship had fired its Superheavy cannon at the Jal, hoping that it would be unable to maneuver away from the weapon due to the extremely tight quarters of the ship, as well as the speeds they were approaching one another. The other ships, meanwhile, worked their own, lighter, cannons against them.

As they fired, three Xianthrafruglu destroyers popped in about 1 quarter of the distance between the Mishhu fleet and the Yamataians, but quickly stealthed themselves, shielding them from sensors. They stood about 1 AU from where the fleets were, looking over the expanse between them.

Once these vessels were in place, a large interdiction field was generated not too far in front of the approaching fleet, so as not to stop the hyperspace torpedoes from doing their lethal duties.

The YSS Jal was hit by the blast, and it's Legacy cannon was literally burned away from the vessel. As was most of the front of the ship. But it was still functional, and it's, along with the masse of Yui-class vessels', pods were launched and targeted the torpedoes after their stop infront of the Yamatai ships. All the while the Yui class sent in a fury of their own cannons and torpedoes as the Mishhu mass.

Assuming the Yamatai force already engaging is space north, and the Mishhu group is in the center of the space compass, than the Temple war group hyperspaced in at the NW, while Dojo group came in from the NE. Both groups surged forward, ignoring the Mishhu offensive for a moment to flank.

All the while the Yui-class force launched their Power armor teams, and they surged forward aswell, almost like a cloud.

As the missiles, their hyperspace ineffective with the interdiction, and the numerous Power Armors surged forward, they were quickly shown the door to a far worse place as three Legacy Cannon shots cut through them, the massive beams swiping through them. Those unfortunate enough to be caught between the beams from the three stealthed gunships would be in quite a jam indeed as the heavy gravitational pull exerted by the weapons was felt.

Meanwhile, as the other two Yamataian battle fleets entered the system, they were quickly met with more Mishhu attackers, this time in the form of an assault fleet for each. The ships pulled a similar move as before on either side, launching three gunships to obliterate the forward-moving fleets with a flanking maneuver utilizing their Legacy cannons, as the core groups dumped heavy amounts of torpedoes far over the legacy beams, to arc down into the enemy ships that hadn't closed yet.

The center battle group began to launch torpedoes in masse, using them as a shields of sorts from the Mishhu offenseive. The power armors in the central postion moved about in confusion for a moment until they all, in a rush of movement, moved toward the gunships while spraying Aether in Gatling, beam, and so on forms. Yui-class cannons fired forward at the ships behind the gun ships.

Mean while, the side groups almost mirrored each other. As they all launched Power armors, which stayed by the ships, the Ayame vessels of both fleets fired their own Legacy cannons, while the many Arashi-class escorts firing their transposition fold cannons, position cannons being fired on the gun ships in Mishhu's general direction. The torpedoes were preped, but not yet fired.

As the Power armors charged the first three gunships to use the flanking maneuver, they were quickly targeted by numerous pulses from the Positron cannons. As they did this, the central group deactivated its interdiction field, allowing the gunships to jump away, and the rest of the battle group to jump forward, quickly positioning themselves less than .1 AU from the enemy fleet before letting loose yet another vicious salvo of Subspace Encased positrons.

The gunships that had formerly been the subject of the Power armor charge now warped into a flanking position of the Yamataian fleet, discharging their legacy cannons a second time, this time through the numerous ships, as opposed to in front of them. As soon as they had fired, the anti-ftl field was quickly put back in place.

Meanwhile, in the other Mishhu battlegroups, the ships quickly began to spread, not wanting to be pulled into the legacy cannon rifts. They quickly activated their Anti-FTL fields, the fields stopping just short of the incoming fleets, stopping the legacy cannon effects before they were quite able to hit them. The positron weapons, however, did find marks, bringing damage to several ships, but no total losses.

The Mishhu ships responded in kind, firing their SEPCs into the abyss, towards their enemies.

It was fairly obvious that the battle groups weren't to well organized past a (failed) battle plan.

The YSS Jal was finally fully destroyed by the onslaught of firepower, and the Yui-class vessels sort of made a circle, half aiming themselves to fire apon the fleet while the other half on those three pesky gunships. Almost all save for a few Power armors were destroyed, while Yui-class vessels that were turned to hulks began to increasingly grow. It was fairly obvious that the central group was going to be lost soon without help. And they didn't get help.

Instead, those scouts fired their torpedoes in rapid succession on Mishhu targets while firing their other various weapons on their targets, hitting some of their own torps in the process.

Mean while, the two side groups set up a anti-FTL field of their own in a attempt to lessen the damage from the Mishhu, the fields coming from the two Ayames. Torpedoes were launched, one from each availble port, and the Power armors remained at their ships. Not that a lot of ships had a Power armor unit to begin with.

As the central battlefleet began to flounder, its Mishhu attackers brought their scalar arrays to bear, unleashing the terrifying radiation onto their ships as the quickly closed range. They made little distinction in their fire, hoping to hit any incoming torpedoes as well.

As the torpedoes began to close range, they were quickly targeted by scalar arrays, which fried a number of them, but still allowed some to make their way through. On the NE battle site, on gunship met an untimely fate as it was finally killed by the incoming torpedoes. In penance for this, its allies began to slowly move forward, their SEPC weapons discharging constantly into the enemy fleet.

On the NW side, however, the battle was turning out quite the same, but this time, the Mishhu refused to close distance.

Out of the original 43 Yui-class vessels, only 12 remained operational. Well, it wasn't easy to tell because while the Scalar radiation did burn out vessels, it tended to kill the crew first. And the systems. Although it would be easy to tell if one waited a moment, as the lost vessels no longer did anything but move at whatever speed they originally had in the direction they were in. Only ten did this, actually, as the rest were destroyed or burnt out completely.

The 12 remaining ones split, seven going to the NE battle group while five going to the NW group in a attempt to not be slaughtered.

The many Arashi-class vessels on the NE side shot their fold cannons into the Mishhu mass again before letting loose with their position cannons as well, firing rapidly. Each one let out a volley of 50 missiles each, all of which were sent at the Mishhu threat on the NE side. More torpedoes were launched. The Ketsueki-class vessels spent most of their time shooting their Transphasic Beams to destroy the Mishhu torpedoes, although let out a pot shot at the odd Mishhu ship with their heavy Transplanar Phased Pulses. The Ayame let loose barrage after barrage from her striker array.

The NW group didn't chance from prior, firing their weapons in range while, basically, spamming torpedoes.

While the torpedoes were still eaten by the Mishhu scalar arrays, and the fold cannons failed, the Positrons still caused damage, even destroying an escort and two more gunships. Of course, the Mishhu weren't cool with that, and on the NW side, two carriers sprang forward, raking their SEPCs over the enemy formation, and unleashing clouds of assault pods, who quickly unloaded their wormhole missiles onto the fronts of their enemies, hoping to open them more for attack from the other ships.

Meanwhile, the battle group that had taken the central attack fleet maneuvered themselves behind the NE fleet at an angle, so as not to assault their brethren on the other side, and began firing. They once again invested in torpedoes, the weapons having a relatively short way to travel at STL speeds, especially when coupled with a flying assault of assault pods from the carriers, who also utilized their anti-shield missiles.

The NW side let loose their own pods to engage in the enemy pods, sending clouds of their own pods into the Mishhu pods. It was like rock paper scissors and both players punched the other in the face at the exact same time. Nothing really happened. Torpedoes were launched and Arashi-class vessels let loose 50-missile volleys on Mishhu contacts as they attempted to shoot down the wormhole missiles. However, for the most part the Mishhu's missiles did as they attended to.

The Yui-class vessels that fled to the NE side were, some what ironically, the first ones to be destroyed. And they were quickly, one Yui-class hulk hitting a Ketsueki-class escort head on, a torpedo being launched accidentally into the rammed vessel, and a unlucky moment followed. It hit the ready to fire torpedoes and they in turn exploded, destroying the escort. Commands to vessels became more far and inbetween as the commanders paid attention to their OWN ships, launching pods and having them engage torpedoes and enemy pods while firing their weapons with little pattern, save for their many torpedoes.

As the NE battlefield grew more dangerous, the Mishhu pods quickly shot upwards. As they were brain slaves, they didn't quite care if this resulted in nasty collisions with the Yamataian armors. As soon as most were up, scalar rays washed through the space they had previously occupied, and towards the enemy fleet. As this happened, the Mishhu pods launched even more of their missiles, intent on turning shields into memories even more.

On the NW front, things were slightly more organized, although the center of the Mishhu fleet had many of their attacks cut off by the carriers before them. One of the carriers, however, was hit hard by the Yamataian fire, and began to burn heavily from its starboard side. Its companions, however, continued the assault, continually launching torpedoes and SEPCs towards them.

Behind the forward carriers, a number of gunships rose up, several of them heavily damaged, and leaped forward at max STL speed, launching constant attacks from their cannons, as well torpedoes.

The NE front was largely successful, as several vessels lost the majority of their shielding. The crew of these vessels, though, showed no signs of retreat and instead sent volley after volley of missiles, torpedoes, and cannons in Mishhu vessels. Even while a few were beginning to break up. Power Armors engaged Mishhu pods, sending Gatling Aether blasts all around.

On the NW side the same was happening as the NE front, although on this side the Ayame-class vessel lost her shields and began to take damage, the vessel beginning to push itself back in a attempt to get away from the onslaught for a moment.

The carriers that had imposed themselves before the rest of the NW group moved forward, and then quickly moved down, allowing the 9 battleships present to fire their lethal superheavy cannons. Meanwhile, all ships continued their blocking of the missiles with their scalar weapons, and continued to pour fire into the Yamataian fleets.

Oh the NE side, the fleet that had come up the rear moved into a more useful flanking position, and continued to pound away with torpedoes and positrons. The Battleship in the group lost one heavy cannon to Torpedo fire, and retaliated with a superheavy cannon shot, couple with 9 more from the still far off battle group.
