Crew Cabin 4
Once she had returned the salute of Char after a smooth inspection of her brightly colored domicile, Shamshiel shifted her attention to her assigned duties here aboard the ship. Though in the past she had worked on pieces of fixed equipment in space stations and stellar mining installations primarily on Veritas, it seemed as if the authorities in charge of the mission has believed in her enough to throw a hefty challenge her way -- for on the manifest it apparently said she was to be on the Engineering staff. This was quite an undertaking, but considering she was non-military personnel it was probably also the safest place for her to be, immersed in her natural environment. The rest of the team could worry about all of those other things that didn't involve mineral analysis or engineering, or shooting at those foolish enough to harry them in their mission.
The fiery-haired Elysian changed quickly out of her formal wear and into a thicker, white and blue jumpsuit that was more protective and durable, and completed the modifications to her FARS drone's hardpoints that included adding two light duty arms, a thermographic imaging unit, and a first aid package... all of these would to assist her with the unique maintenance requirements of the ship's systems. Beryl seemed quite happy to have gotten the upgrades too, the mini-Neko hologram swiveling around happily and floating along after her master with an eager "Ready for duty, Sham-sama!" It was certainly better than being on cargo duty. "More arms means more work, dear. Now come come, it is almost launch time...!" urged the Elysian as she grabbed one last orange crystal from her crate and the rest of her own personal equipment, including the holster of her Pestris pistol, and made way to the rear of the vessel.
Engineering
As the announcement came over the loudspeaker that the maiden voyage was about to begin, Shamshiel was in a flurry of activity belowdecks to get the Anoiktos ready to get underway. This was made doubly difficult considering she had to learn a lot of things on the fly, and from the main control console she launched many requests to Mnemosyne to grow fresh data displays in front of her, filled with breakdowns of the ship's power systems that she went through as a checklist. She also had one displaying what her drone assistant Beryl's cameras saw, using its two duty arms to conduct inspections and prepare things remotely, the thermographic unit allowing for deeper penetration and analysis of the flow of power through the ship's veins. The Elysian was if nothing else very efficient at getting technology to do her dirty work for her. Floating as she was with her wings outstretched in low g, she seemed like an angelic conductor of a grand symphony building to crescendo as the ship was roused to awaken from its long slumber.
"Engineering reporting in," began Shamshiel telepathically with a definite note of adrenaline as she multi-tasked, "Apologies for the delays, Prefectii, bit of a learning curve for me down here. Ship vital signs are strong and power levels are now rising steadily as we come out of long term standby. The auxiliary engines are active and the main CFS system will be fully operational momentarily." She grimaced a little bit that they had to rely on a Yamtaian design for FTL travel, but it couldn't be helped.
