Wiki "Work in Progress" Policy

Yeah, this is spot on. I imagine being able to use outside images during the WIP phase to be a handy tool. It's only natural that they're not allowed for a final product.

Sounds like people like this idea. I'll get it implemented in the next week or so. I will need to make some updates to the wiki guidelines and such and I'll make an announcement. I may also move existing WIPs over to the new protected sandbox area (or just let people request moves and do them on demand).

You know making a new dokuwiki database is as simple as making a new folder and renaming it workinprogresswiki instead of wiki, right?

You could get *ALL* work in progress *OFF* the wiki eventually if you did this, so any WIP stuff has its own wiki.

It wouldn't have any server overhead or be troublingly difficult because its all per-client execution.

I've thought about making a separate wiki for WIPs (or even a wiki farm where everyone gets their own wiki) but I would want to implement a single-sign-on first. Also I'm still looking at other wiki softwares because Dokuwiki just doesn't have all the features I want and it develops really slowly compared to paid software like XenForo. So I don't want to invest a lot into Dokuwiki when I might not stick with in it the long run. For the time being, this is the best solution. Having everything in a WIP space would make it super easy to move into a new wiki if we decide to do that. Right now, things are really spread out and WIPs and abandoned unfinished pages hard to find.
