Hello! Just landed in this neck o' tha' woods. I've never truly been sure what I'm supposed to say in these types of introduction threads, so I'll just roll with it.
A new guy. Should sum most of me up.
It means I don't know too much about the community here, nor am I overly knowledgable of the universe and, what's more, it's been so long since I've last roleplayed on a forum that it's safe to say I'm a rookie, again.
So. Ummmm. Yeah.
I come from the faraway land of Russia, so if I make any mistakes or my writing's lame, that's probably why. I'm also 19 years old and am currently in university.
What else... I've been RPing in MMO's for the past year or so. WoW, GW2, Rift Online, etc.
Community there was fine, but time and again I've found myself craving for story and substance while getting more and more annoyed by the constant cutsey socially awkward characters that had a thing for hugging and cuddling every other character they could find. It was all rather... shallow.
As for characters... I've always had a thing for freelancers in space. Just has some kind of romantic charm in it for me. You're alone in an infinitely large universe, no one's really looking out for you. Free to travel wherever you want, talk to whoever you want and work wherever you want. After reading up on the wiki, I decided that a bounty hunter sounds like my thing. Or a pirate. Either one is good.
In terms of roleplay, I always tend to involve myself with the darker aspects of the world and character interaction. Conflicts, fights between characters, human psychological imperfections... These are probably the things I capitalize on in my characters and their interaction.
I'm also very heavily considerate of what goes on in my character's head. I can't just take one of those feels you get that tells you: "I want to RP [insert some sort of proffession]!" and go with it. Instead, I'll sit for hours trying to put together a psychology for my future character. And ough, history. That's something I haven't seen much success in, so in future characters I'll hope to get merciless and unrelentining criticism.
And I think I've said everything that comes to mind, I guess. Once again, Hi.
