Hollywood-like place in Kyoto?

Hello everyone, it's been a while since I've posted anything on here.

But with the upcoming Oscars, I had the thought of a dedicated place where people could make movies, like a big film studio and accommodations for actors/actrices, directors and the other people involved with film making. I noticed a rather empty spot on the https://wiki.stararmy.com/doku.php?id=location:kyoto#layout_and_rp_locations city page: Riverside. Not much is known about the Riverside district, only that it is located on the eastern edge of the city and runs alongside the Ketsurui River. It does not have a sub-heading or anything besides that description, which makes me wonder if we can place any interesting places there. Since often rivers are the places for beach houses and the homes for rich people, it seems only fitting that many of the cinema celebrities live there. I know Kyoto is not an old city, so perhaps the government explicitly built the film studios there, and the film people came to live there as well.

Of course with film studios and celebrities, come award ceremonies. A SARP-like version of the Oscars and Academy Awards would sure be in place.

Soo, what do you think. Is a place for dedicated movie making needed, or perhaps even necessary? I know it isn't the everyday exciting job of adventuring and fighting evil that the site is known for, but a place like Hollywood in the SARP. Wouldn't that be cool?

I only need a little help with the naming of the place, as well as the film companies that would come in place. Perhaps Origin and Tamahagane would open a daughter-entreprises for the sole puprose of film making? Perhaps the Yamatai and Nepleslia have own government-backed film studios? Who knows what the possibilities are...

I like seeing stuff like this in the setting. There are already a few SARP 'TV shows' that are occasionally mentioned in the background of RP and having a studio where those shows are produced would be great.

I am not too familiar with what companies make shows, but I am 100% certain that the nepleslian version of this should be SARP's Bollywood.

FM approved! I like this concept.

Then with that in mind, I hope we can see an influx of movie themes, perhaps some of them pertaining to franchises like Star Wars and Star Trek. I myself am working on a small movie title based upon "Little House on the Prairie", a western-like drama if you like. I'll put the link here when I'm done.

Currently I'm working on an Indiana Jones-inspired kind of film, and after that I will go for a more Hangover-like comedy. I'll keep everyone up to date here.

I moved the page to the media namespace.

Wow! These are really detailed.

I have to necro one more thread, mostly out of interest. I was looking for something to dress my character up as for Halloween so I went looking for IC media. Is the creator of this still around, and does he plan on finishing these articles to submit them? If not, I might try to finish some of this at some point unless someone else wants to.

@Yoerik has visited recently and I'm sure he'd love to see some other people make contributions that build on what he started.
