OOC [OIF Atuan] OOC Thread

Well, at least we're out of the elevator quick, so no worries about that. XD

Right now, your objective is more or less to just grab the other team and go. However, you got six unidentified enemy frames, with two at the end of the halls which connect to each 'corner' of the triangular shaped atrium. The firefight up above isn't very aware of your presence either, so, make the most of your options.

And the clock is ticking. :3c

Damn, should have put everything down and said something sooner! Don't be afraid to PM me in the IRC and prod me into replying here alright?

The atrium/area you guys are in is more or less triangular in shape, along with the rest of the building. Each point of the 'triangle' you're in however, extends into a sort of hallway that leads to one of the three entrances/exits to the ground floor of the HIGA building. Overall, its decor is much like a Japanese garden, so expect some trees, large rocks and ponds in this atrium large enough to accommodate frames.

Let's see. For now, I think I'll toss posting turns right out of the window and go with conversational flow instead. Once I feel you guys have had fun with that though, I'll see to tossing other things your way. Hope that sounds good?

Shameless double post:

It's hard keeping the ball rolling once when it stops, and it pushes home to me that I'm not very experienced with GMing, but from here, I'll be posting every 2-3 days. I won't let myself get post locked again either - I'll just treat that as either a character being silent, or something else.

Right now, it's quite literally freeplay - it's the lull before the storm, so do go ahead and be as introspective and self fulfilling as you wish to be. The final chapter after this is going to be a doozy, so if there's something you want your character to do for the sake of your own enjoyment or character development, go for it. If any of you also have any ideas towards what you want to do, send me a line as well and I'll arrange for whatever I can.

All my ideas pertain to the two year gap we have, so I'm refraining from making any sort of plans until after Kensuke is dealt with.

Perhaps it took a year to get there, and after Ken's dealt with, the crew gets a year off as a reward for bringing the truth to Origin as Ken was driving it into the ground. A lot can happen in a year...

Well, this wasn't as easy as I thought it'd be.

I had planned out several different 'routes' which we could all end up at, not only depending on what we choose to do but also how, yet I ended up running into a brick wall. I simply didn't anticipate each of you having the same general idea, but each one having its own method of execution. In other words.

I'm as confused and frustrated as our resident flat chested Neko.

I don't understand how we have more routes than "Go to secret spot", "Go with Abwehrans", and "go both."

I've been rather unfair, as I should have said something sooner.

As this plot gets closer and closer to being finished, it gets harder and harder for me to move it at all. Currently, I am having a lot of difficulty trying to figure out what to do next, as I have made matters even worse by bungling this phase with my poor decision making and performance as a GM. I'm currently trying to figure out what to do, but without too much luck - as it has been, I've been operating off of the previous GM's plot framework, modified and expanded as necessary. Which had been necessary, many times over. Even then, it is difficult. As I type this out, I am starting to realize that perhaps even trying to follow the original 'pathway' set - no matter how loosely - may have been a particularly bad idea, and that I should have tried to make it my own plot from the moment I had to take the reins.

I'm embarrassed to say that up until this point, I have always seen this plot as the previous GM's shoved upon me, rather than my own, which is likely what is causing us all this grief at this point in time.

I must say that I'm very sorry for the slow, puttering pace of this plot, as it should have moved much more quickly as the other plots that I've worked on as of late. And almost as importantly - though most certainly not as importantly - curse the prior GM's name for the nine-thousand-and-oneth time.

Hang in there guys, I'll think of something GOOD for once, rather than use old, canned orders.
