Mayer Station was a sealed bio-dome against the harsh surface of the carbon planet, Siren 2, nestled just a few miles outside of the unimaginatively named, "Siren Mining Colony 7". Almost every hangar was full and the station was bustling with activity as technicians and Peacekeepers hurried about their duties. People were full of energy and anticipation for the coming missions.... for some, it was a diversion from fairly routine UOCPF supply -escort duties.

Fleet Admiral Mitsuya's decision to form a Pirate Task Force with only a handful of her fleet's numbers meant that all of the 4th Logistics Fleets' vessels were here at Mayer Station to be refitted, updated and resupplied for the coming months ahead. There was no illusion that the mere formation of the Task Force would immediately yield the result of ending the presence of piracy in the United Outer Colonies, so there was much work being done to prepare the Peacekeepers for the arduous task ahead of them.

But, with so many ships docked at Mayer it meant that there were many idle Peacekeepers simply waiting for their ships to be ready and the order to head out to start working. The crews of the EDS vessels we put into classrooms and training sessions to properly prepare them for the task of educating the general public on how to establish their own means of defense from piracy and the formation of law enforcement agencies.

The PCIS crews however, were mostly given busy work to keep them busy. Sub-Commander Belinda Blake was less than pleased to be assigning Power Armor Pilots to cleaning and mess details. She felt it was a waste of their time but... she had to give them something constructive to do while they waited. The ship captain's were not all chosen for some the vessels, so in their stead- she had to direct these Peacekeepers to where they needed to go...

"I'm sorry, Recruit Lansig, but you'll have to report to the Galley for a kitchen detail today," Sub-Commander Blake announced to the red haired Peacekeeper recruit in front of her with a sympathetic smile as the man winced, "Luckily, tomorrow you'll be joining the Tanebi's crew for a Combat exercise and Power Armor training. So please, bear with it today until your ship is ready. You are dismissed."

Recruit Lansig saluted the Sub-Commander and exited the officer's office with a heavy sigh. If he had less military bearing, he'd drag his feet but since he was fresh from boot camp he begrudgingly marched towards the Station's large Galley for his Mess detail.

Blake watched him go and sighed herself as she looked through her latest reports from the Personnel Management Office that gave her the Personnel files of all incoming Peacekeepers to the station so she could properly instruct them on where to go. She was surprised to see that her incoming recruit itinerary was slightly smaller than yesterday's but she had time- they didn't have to report in until 1600 but, they'd be on station just in time to help with the dinner cleaning detail. "...It's never fair," she muttered quietly to herself as she picked up her green coffee mug and took a sip. "I guess, I can catch up on my paperwork as I wait for this new boot drop."

Re: [UCS Zenpyou] Prelude: Siren's Call- Mayer Station.

“Wow…” Ira said to him self as he disembarked the landing shuttle and took in an eyeful of what was going to be his new home for the next few weeks. Some of his comrades from boot filed off the ship, and began scurrying about to report in. Ira was not scheduled to report in until 1600. This gave him some time to relax, and go take a look around.

He saw peacekeepers of all ranks rushing around completing tasks of all kinds. Ironically most of the tasks he saw were menial, not befitting the training and use of the Best the UOC had. Of course Ira knew that you could not have a base of operations with a bunch of heads just standing around aloof. No army in history could ever tolerate that kind of laxness. He just let out a chuckled and calmly walked out of the docking bay and headed into the main promenade of Meyer Station. Ira stood against the railing, and looked up towards the sky. The transparent dome of Mayer Station allowed him to see the stars of outer space. His duffel bag hit the deck next to his feet, and he just stood and attempted to divine what the future would hold for him.

Ira saw figure moving to his right. He turned his head and his brown eyes fell on the figure of a young Peacekeeper cadet mopping the deck. The expression on his face was less then pleased. But Ira figured he may as well ask the man what was going on. “Hey.” He said in a calm voice, turning from the railing on thee promenade “Why exactly are you doing that?” It was common to see peacekeepers doing menial tasks, but when you saw one with a ship’s insignia on his chest doing it to a docking station’s deck, you had to wonder.

The young man paused, and looked up at Ira. He was enlisted, so he automatically snapped to attention. “This Recruit was instructed to swab the deck, sir!” Ira stood looking at him, he was fresh out of boot too like Ira. Though Ira was an officer, he felt no need to make the young man follow protocol when he was mopping the deck. “At ease, Peacekeeper.” Ira said calmly, with a warm smile forming on his face. “Speak Freely.” He said softly.

“Well,” The enlisted Jiyuuian said looking around nervously. “There are a lot of refits going on…you know, repairing ships to get ready for the offensive against the Pirates.” he paused and took a breath. “So our commanders, and sub-commanders are being forced to put the crews of those ships to work…so here I am, mopping this deck. I’ve been doing it all morning..” he said trailing off, and getting back to his task.

Re: [UCS Zenpyou] Prelude: Siren's Call- Mayer Station.

It seemed though the last of the cadets and recruits on the trans port were disembarking from their long trip to this space station. Cadet Miu Nagatori was among the last of the passengers to leave the ship, her graceful body seemed to float off of the boarding ramp, her small boot covered feet making soft click as they touched the floor below, the uniform hugging against her soft flesh and showing off every curve she had. Her long white hair was pulled back into a tight bun against her head, the powerful white of her hair, a stark contrast to the dark colors of the short sleeved Peacekeeper uniform she was wearing.

Her black eyes did not dance from cadet to trainee, no, they beamed forward, looking dead into the entrance to the Promenade of the station. Miu wasted no time with banter or foolish joking like her peers seemed to enjoy doing, no the young Jiyuuan was here for a reason, and that was to aid her nation, and to protect her fellow citizen of the UOC.

She strutted through the entrance to the Promenade, and took a look around. She saw Recruits rushing around completing tedious choirs, and cadets doing much the same thing. She let shook her head and closed her eyes when she saw an indomitable figure looming over a young Jiyuuan recruit.

“Cadet Ramirez..” She said with a set of clinched teeth. Of all the recruits she had met during her training, Ramirez was one of the few she truly had come to loathe. His smug demeanor, his almost unflinching ability to remain calm even when an instructor was screaming at him so loud it rained spit all over his face. It irked her to no end. But the thing she despised about him the most was the fact that he never EVER seemed to be angry or displeased about anything. She had trained with him, and said all but to words to him during the boot camp time. But even then she found her blood boiling just looking at that smug expression on his face as he senselessly bantered with an enlisted recruit as if they were best friends.

Miu’s expression was contorted into a scowl, but she realized that she had better report in. She turned, and began speed waling past Ramirez and his new friend, preying he would not recognize her.

Re: [UCS Zenpyou] Prelude: Siren's Call- Mayer Station.

Ira turned away from the recruit, and saw a ghostly figure whisk past him. He nearly stumbled over as he realized who the dark eyed Jiyuuan was. She was in training with him. Nagatori. Miu.

He smiled, and called out to her. “I thought I smelled beautiful.” He knew she would respond. Miu. How could he forget her. He never spoke to her, but then again during training he mostly stuck to him self. But he did take the time to observe everybody along side of him. Something about her always made her stand out. Every where he looked their was a beautiful woman walking around. Their breasts nearly popping out of their uniforms, Their firmly toned asses looking like two pigs fighting over a milk dud. But with Miu it was nothing to do with her appearance, and she was striking. Her pale skin gave her a ghostly appearance. But what stuck with Ira about Miu was the fact that she had BITCH seemingly tattooed on her forehead.

Ira loved a challenge. He let out a soft laugh. “Yea…if you are looking to report in to Sub-commander Blake…her office is in the other direction.” he said pointing to a small monitor on the railing with pretty clear directions on how to get to the various Offices of the Station’s officers.

Re: [UCS Zenpyou] Prelude: Siren's Call- Mayer Station.

Miu stopped dead in her tracks when she heard that relaxed and smug voice echo in her direction. She clinched her teeth once again but this time the young woman managed to compose her self. “Are you sure you aren’t just smelling your upper lip? She replied as she turned around and gave Ira a very sarcastic smile. Her hand was holding the secure rope to her duffle bag so tightly her flesh was turning almost as white as her hair. When he made mention of the directional computer her eyes glanced over to it, and she discovered he was indeed being truthful. She refused to let him know he had been correct when he assumed she was lost, and merely decided to play it off that she knew what she was doing. “I was just going to take a look around the station, so I would appreciate it if you minded your own business.

Miu then did a turn about, and stomped off in the direction she was originally heading. She would slow her pace and then look back to make sure that she could trace Ira’s steps. “Somebody needs to check that cocky little rooster..” She grumbled as she turned around and began slowly walking back to the part of the promenade where she had initially met Ira Ramirez.

Re: [UCS Zenpyou] Prelude: Siren's Call- Mayer Station.

His smile grew larger when Miu turned around and reacted to what he had said to her. He expected her to chew him out, but he was very much surprised when she managed to keep her cool and address him in a somewhat respectful manner. She of course finished what she said and turned around walking away. Ira shrugged, and turned around him self. He grabbed his own duffle bag, and went in the opposite direction of Miu.

He moved slowly, strolling through the Promenade, telling friendly faces hello, and saluting when needed to officers who were passing him by. He would then nonchalantly head over to Sub-Commander Blake’s office. Ira found the door closed, and decided to go by the military doctrine that was in place. He reached over, with his right hand, and began a gentle rap on the door. He would then stand at attention and patiently wait for the Sub commander to open the door and let him in.

Re: [UCS Zenpyou] Prelude: Siren's Call- Mayer Station.

Miu trailed behind Ira, making it a point to blend in with the bustling crowd of the station. She kept her eyes locked on to his back so she did not loose him. She however charged after him when he vanished into what she figured was the Sub-Commander’s office. She trotted in and caught up with him. Ira had just finished knocking, so she immediately ran up beside him and stood at attention as he she awaited for Blake to take them in and issue out their tasks.

As she stood their looking forward she started to do the best she could to ignore Ira’s presence in the spot to her left.(Crappy post but meh)

Re: [UCS Zenpyou] Prelude: Siren's Call- Mayer Station.

Sub-Commander Blake looked up from her cup of coffee and her personnel data when she heard the knock at her door. She rose from her chair and set her coffee mug down as she walked from behind the desk to the door.

She pulled the door to her office inward with a bemused expression as she saw not one but two of the Peacekeepers she wasn't expecting until much later. "Cadet Ramirez, Cadet Nagatori... I wasn't expecting either of you until much later, please, come in. At ease. Ramirez," she said warmly as she gestured for the cadets to head inwards.

Belinda Blake was a tall, well-toned half Geshrin and half-Nepleslian woman with curly, shoulder length dark red hair and a light caramel brown colored skin tone that sharply contrasted her almond shaped emerald green eyes. She stood at a little over 6 feet tall and her short sleeve uniform variant showed off her well-muscled and heavily scarred arms.

The office itself was fairly bland. There was an uniformly dull layer of bulkhead gray paint on the walls with a small dark colored rug laying over a metal panel floor grating near her small, cluttered gunmetal silver desk. The only hint of personality in the office were a pair of flowering red trees with dark purplish leaves on either side of the desk.

There were two dark gray cushioned chairs in front of the desk with a similar but slightly bigger one behind the desk. "Go ahead and have a seat you two," Blake suggested.

Re: [UCS Zenpyou] Prelude: Siren's Call- Mayer Station.

Ira had seen his father who stood a little over seven feet tall with his heavily muscled scarred arms. But when he took a look at Sub-Commander Belinda Blake, he began imagining the two entangled in a one on one battle to the death. Seriously, Ira was having thoughts about this woman going out side and chopping a tree down with her bare hands. Ira quickly and silently came to the conclusion that if his father had been born a woman, he would bare a striking resemblance to Sub-commander Blake.

Ira shifted into his at ease position, and went straight for the chair, calmly and quietly sitting down. This woman had to have been old military, probably a member of the Yamataian Star Army at one point in her life. But her eyes. He looked into her eyes and saw something you rarely saw in seasoned veterans like her. He saw they were still full of life, and compassion.

He sat down and remained Silent while Miu went to take her seat. “Cadet Ira Ramirez reporting as ordered, Ma’am” He knew he was early, but he felt it best to get all of the pleasantries out of the way so he could get his racking assignment, and duty roster ready for him to take care of it. The sooner the better was how he felt it should be done. He figured Blake may not mind it so much, it meant she had one less Cadet to worry about.

Re: [UCS Zenpyou] Prelude: Siren's Call- Mayer Station.

Miu went into her at ease stance almost naturally, looking like a pale white Greek goddess statue that jumped to life off of the pedestal she had been mounted on. Her graceful and lithe frame seemed to dance on over to the chair she was offered. She sat down, and found the sight of Sub-Commander Blake rather impressive. The embodiment of what it meant to commit ones life to a cause. She wore her scars proudly, no badge or medal the UOC offered her could even compare to the obvious honor those scars on her arms showed. All Miu could think about was how many battles had Sub-Commander Blake participated in. How many lives had she saved during her career. Only a few seconds of meeting her, and Miu found she could do nothing more but respect her.

Ira seemed to be doing the same, but from what she had seen from him, he was generally respectful to his superiors. Miu presented her paper work to Sub-Commander Blake shortly after Ira did the same thing. “Cadet Miu Nagatori reporting as ordered Ma’am.” Very prim, very professional, she had all the military baring that a raw Cadet fresh out of training should have. Miu’s soft and feminine voice a stark contrast to the smooth raspy voice that Ira spouted out. Though looking at Miu you would figure by her curvy physique, and white hair she should be doing something other then being a Peacekeeper. But then again softer looking women had joined the military before her…and had accomplished great things. Miu soon found her self being inspired by Sub-Commander Blake’s presence.

Re: [UCS Zenpyou] Prelude: Siren's Call- Mayer Station.

Blake softly closed her office door and walked with long, even, strides to her seat behind her desk. She picked up here datapad and projected their orders onto floating volumeric displays in front of the appropriate Cadet. "It's nice to see promptness in young officers, it'll serve you well in the future. I first wanted to welcome you both to Mayer Station while your new assignment is being refitted.

I need you both to place your right thumb onto the signature screens of your orders in front of you to confirm that you understand and accept them. The rest of the Zenpyou's crew should be arriving soon, but slowly they will be joining you. In the meantime, until your Executive Officer arrives, I have the task of keeping you busy. So that unfortunately means that every Peacekeeper has to help maintain the station. Your crew has been slated for the dinner Mess detail today.

You are to report to the ship's Galley at 1730 to help the cooks with dinner, as well as, help serve it to the rest of the station. I know it's not exciting but everyone is getting a turn at helping out. Luckily, since it is only 0930, you two are free to explore the station.

Cadet Ramirez, your berthing assignment is Level 5; Starboard Male Berthing 3.

Cadet Nagatori, your berthing assignment is Level 5, Port Female Berthing 2.

There are male and female shower facilities on all the Personnel Berthing levels and of course, multiple toilet facilities on each floor. Breakfast service starts at 0900 every morning, lunch at 1200, dinner at 1800 in the Cafeteria. You are welcome to visit the Cafeteria whenever you feel inclined- you have unlimited free meal service while you are here. If for whatever reason, you want something from a vending machine, we have them on every level in just about every other corner that accept Nepleslian; Yamataian; Lorath; and Jiyuuian money cards.

A station map can be downloaded to your personal datapads from any of the station's data ports. If you have any further questions, I'd be happy to here them now," Blake finally finished speaking and smiled gently as she waited for their questions.

Re: [UCS Zenpyou] Prelude: Siren's Call- Mayer Station.

Ira listened as Sub-Commander Blake explained to them both what was going on in the station. The Zenpyou was under going a refit, and basically he and the rest of the crew were stuck here while the refit was being carried out. When his order’s were presented to him, Ira gently reached out and took his from Blake. He looked down and began reading them over simultaneously as Blake continued to explain where his berthing was. Ira placed his thumb on the signature area and placed his orders onto Blake’s desk.

She was pretty straight forward, and the explanation of what was occurring here was pretty straightforward as well. So Ira really had no questions. All he had to do was stay busy, and other wise lounge around. Ira was steadfast in his duties, but when he had nothing else to do he turned into a regular coach potato. He decided not to ask her where the recreational lounge was, and simply to go off and find it on his own.

“”I have no questions Ma’am.’ He said in a less then enthusiastic voice, but the expression on his face gave him away to the fact that he was pretty content to be here on his very first assignment, even if it was helping the cooks with dinner. Ira then rose up from his chair, and saluted. He would hold the stance until he was dismissed.

Re: [UCS Zenpyou] Prelude: Siren's Call- Mayer Station.

Miu took her orders and quickly imprinted her tiny thump on to them. This finalized her orders and finished the main part of her arrival. She then listened on coming to realize that Ira was going to be on the same ship as her. Had it not been a formal meeting under the eyes of her commander she would have unleashed a string of explicative’s.

She handed her orders back in and continued to listen to Sub-Commander Blake along side of Ira. When the Sub-Commander said for them to ask questions Miu hesitated, and decided this was the time. “Ma’am…how did you get your scars.” She said, her brown eyes shifting to a now saluting Ira, and a smiling Sub Commander Blake.

Re: [UCS Zenpyou] Prelude: Siren's Call- Mayer Station.

David straightened out his Uniform with it's new rank insignia on it and picked up his ruck before stepping out of the shuttle that dropped him off at the station. His body still had some of the damage he had sustained on Kennewes but nothing that would keep him from performing his duties. His left eye was still healing and his vision from it was blurry and felt wierd to him. He had spent most of his recent time with doctors to treat his burns and other wounds and had sent the remainder resting and carving a chess set.

He looked around bay and then called to the station's AI: "Could I please have directions to Sub-Commander Belinda Blake." A volumetric display appeared before David showing his way to the Officer in charge of the station. When he arrived he found out that she was already meeting with two of the new transfers to the station and took a seat in a chair outside her office and took out a small book to read.

Re: [UCS Zenpyou] Prelude: Siren's Call- Mayer Station.

Sub-Commander Blake stood and returned the salute. "You are dismissed then." Her eyes went to Miu as she asked about her scars. The woman continued to smile, "Before I joined the military, I was a cage fighter in an small Nepleslian fighting League and weapons were allowed in some of the fights. So some are a result of that and others are from various encounters with Rippers, shrapnel, and a couple bar fights. It's hard to keep track of them all after a time but it's a nice reminder of mortality and what it feels like to be alive."

Blake grinned a bit at some of the memories but she was never one to keep herself out of trouble for too long. She had some crazy times and she was looking forward to her own involvement in the Taskforce when she could get a chance to get away from her desk. "Did you have any other questions, Cadet Nagatori?"

Re: [UCS Zenpyou] Prelude: Siren's Call- Mayer Station.

Natsuko stepped off of one of many shuttles that were arriving at Siren 2. Kinda a depressing place. Natsuko thought as she stepped off of the shuttle. Of course, it sure is busy for such a depressing place. Natsuko had spent the last few months at Shambhai Leadership Academy, learning more about leadership. While there Natsuko felt cramped and suppressed, while she loved to read about things like Elysian and Nepleslian politics and sometimes even history she absolutely abhored studying as an assignment. It had been a long and difficult struggle, many nights spent in frustration, and even a few thrown books. Finally though, she triumphed and graduated.

Natsuko had been dreading her return to active duty however, the memory of Xanatos still almost fresh in her mind. Maybe he'll be here. Natsuko had told herself on the shuttle ride, even though she knew that he wasn't. Once she had been re-assigned she had spent hours poring over the crew manifests, at least the current crew-manifests, looking for Xanatos's name.

Natsuko spent some time wandering around the station before she finally looked up where she needed to be on the station map. Let's hope I'm not too late. Natsuko thought as she headed toward the Sub-Lieutenant's office. Once there she sat down across from a naggingly familiar person reading a magazine. Why does he look so familiar. Natsuko thought as she stared at the man.

Re: [UCS Zenpyou] Prelude: Siren's Call- Mayer Station.

Ai wondered off a shuttle, slightly sleepy, and yet oddly hyper, after the utterly boring voyage to the station. It felt strange to finally be out of the classroom, or gym, and be back into military service. Less training, more application, less books, more work. Her time away from active duty had done little to calm down her hyper self, the main reason why her ride was just SO boring. If anything, the large amounts of training and exercise had made her have more energy than even before. Poor fellow crew members.

Away from the cramped shuttle, through the bustling hangar, past all the peacekeepers, to somewhere open Ai went. Left here, no, right there, straight ahead. No, too many peeoopple AH HAH! It was a relatively quiet area amongst the hustle and bustle of the station. Once there, the now Sub-Lieutenant just spun around in circles, not particularly caring for what others thought of her crazy antics.

After some lovely circles, Ai tipped over and leaned against a wall, making contact with a nice 'THUD.' "Owie..." she winced slightly, falling a bit too hard against the surface. But, regardless of the short moment of pain, she sighed with satisfaction. She got to move around at least. "Now then... what to do? There's just so much time left...." Ai wondered to herself.

Re: [UCS Zenpyou] Prelude: Siren's Call- Mayer Station.

Ira finished his salute, and started out of the door, but he made it quite obvious that while Miu had asked the question, he too was curious about her scars. He paused, and turned around to watch with an eager interest as the Sub-Commander gave a brief story about her scars. Some how the idea of her being a cage fighter fit her well. He smiled at her, and shifted a glance to Miu. Then continued with his dismissal. He went out of the office door, and walked into the waiting room(Just guessing, I will change this if necessary) He turned and saw a man reading a Magazine. Full uniform. Zenpyou insignia….Sub-Commander Rank. It was the XO of the ship Ira was assigned to.

Ira snapped into a Salute almost immediately. He had to admit it probably looked foolish saluting to his superiors all the time. But in formal settings such as these it was best to simply follow through with the tradition. As opposed to calling down the wrath of a grumpy XO who felt he deserved his Salute. His brown eyes kept forward, and the Young Nepelesian did not make a sound. All he did was await for the officer to acknowledge his presence and dismiss him.

Of course, Ira also worried as he had previously learned, Miu was irritable and easily pissed off. So he imagined her coming out of the room and making the wrong remark at the wrong time.

Re: [UCS Zenpyou] Prelude: Siren's Call- Mayer Station.

Miu sat and listen to the Sub-Commander with a great deal of interest. So when the story was finished the graceful lady nodded and stood up shortly after Saluting. Miu had probably saluted hundreds of times during her training, but this was one of the few times she had saluted to somebody whom she felt deserved it. This time Miu was Saluting the person, not the rank. When Blake dismissed her, she would turn around and trail after Ira. She stepped out of the office and closed the door. Turning around she saw Ira standing in a Salut. She was smaller and did not see the man sitting in the chair in front of Ira. “What the hell are you doing.’ She said in a low voice to Ira. “I am not in the mood for your little attempts to flirt with me, so just get out of my way!”

She hissed so that Sub-Commander Blake would hopefully not hear her. Growing impatient, Miu forced her self past Ira only to see why he was actually saluting. It was the XO off the Zenpyou. She gasped, and immediately snapped into a Salute right next to Ira. ‘Sir.” She said sharply, her eyes dead in front of her, their was another women in the room who appeared too wrapped n thought. That and Miu could not for the life of her get a good look at her rank, but she divined that Ira in this situation clearly had the right idea.

Re: [UCS Zenpyou] Prelude: Siren's Call- Mayer Station.

As David read through his book he heard the snap of heels followed shortly by some muttering and then another sap of heels. As Miu called out 'Sir!' David pulled out his book mark from earlier in the book and placed at this new spot and close the book. "You may be at ease. I thank you for honoring my rank but I have yet to take duty so I'm still just a civilian... who happens to be a Sub-Commander." David stood up and held out his hand to the Jiyuuian that had actually announced her arrival. "My name is David Stryker and I am the X.O. of the Zenpyou and you might you two be?"
