Isuzu would suggest that the boarding parties be informed as well, but i'm pretty sure she and Ren were never informed of the fact that the admiral is over on the remaining pirate ship ^_^;...

Edit: Actually, now that i think about it, Ren might know, as she went to the power armor launch bay before she came to engineering to be briefed on her mission...

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Years to all. I'm going to be low profile until Jan 7 because I'm flying to San Jose to see my grandmother. So, if it's not too much trouble, just push Avaldamon around until then. Thanks a bunch! Glad you're feeling better Yangfan.

Orie activated her inertial manipulation and smoothly hovered up to the tunnel mouth

Hmm... maybe i'm totally off-base here, but if your ship possesses internal inertial and gravatic manipulation systems, it should also have systems to monitor and regulate those systems for the safety of the crew. That being said, if you know that none of your own crew has inertial or gravatic manipulation abilities, because only your enemies (Yamataians and Nekos) have those, then it should be fairly obvious to set your sensors to immediately report any sizeable purturbations of gravity/inertia within ship, because they'd have to either be malfunctions or boarders. I wonder if that's why the lamia would have offered her a hand up ^_^;...

That's good thinking, but the Bellystabber is a fairly old ship design, and I don't think the pirates are clever enough to rig their internal sensors to detect those things.

Besides, who says there are no Yamataian pirates? ;)

I suppose that's true, though i didn't think Yamataian's had been around long enough to have a siginificant presence outside of the empire. Also, i'm pretty sure the inertial/gravatic control of a Yamataian would probably be insufficient to do what Orie just did; it's mostly to allow them to maneuver better in low-G environments. What Orie just did (lifting a 40-ish kg object three meters into the air), had it been a malfunction of the ship's systems, could have been potentially deadly.

Yamataians have plenty enough thrust for flight. If I remember correctly, the main place that they lag behind nekos is in top speed and endurance, particularly when in gravity. They can still fly around with no problems.

Besides, having ship systems detect things like that is fairly rare--Mishhu have flown around pretty much undetected on at least two plotships that I know of, and these are cutting-edge warships that can detect the gravity signature of a sparrow farting from 10 light years away. So, Orie's thought process isn't so much "Could this possibly be detected?" as "An excuse to fly! Whee!" :p

Hmm... i rather wish the CCG was a bit more specific about it -_-;. It the NH-model android/gynoid comparison chart, it says 'limited' under gravitational/inertial control for Yamataians, as opposed to NH-29s, for which it says 'yes,' indicating that there is a significant difference in capability in this area between these two models. In the descriptive text for Yamataians, gravity control was also mentioned as one of the things that was being 'cut' from the Yamataian model to some extent. Unlike the NH-29, however, no hard stats are given...

Yeah. There was a drive a while back to write a big guide to the newer races, but it kinda died when the boards were hacked. Actually, I think that's where I got that tidbit about their flight speed.

Sorry about the low number of IC posts this week. I've been taking it easy these last few days.

Good thing we're not on a schedule or anything.

I make post.

After much work and annoyance my car is once again back on the road, which is freeing up a fair bit of time for other things; thank god it is finally (mostly) over with.

Please note:

IC communication from the 5th XF to the 3rd XF.

Topic is the offering of assistance in the form of ships, an offer to allow use of Hotaru and Himitau production facilities to make ships critical to the 3rd XF's structure, and a wish to open communications.

Ships being prepared for delivery to the 3rd XF:

5 Kyoto, originally from the old Second Fleet
15 Yui, decommissioned recently by the 5th
20 Odori, from Himitsu Depot

And probably more modern ones upon the return of communications.

Replied, and you're welcome.

The 5th XF has ICly put up with some of the same, so they know that the 3rd XF needs help ASAP, and that no one else may be able to assist in a timely manner. Kat needs time to lock herself in place before she can do anything about the individual fleets.

Also, think up a name and registry for your new Takumi and get a list together. May I recommend getting some more Anri to boost your own production capacity, among other things?

The Takumi is an NJ vessel, so you'd likely be best with NJ-X3-00, or NJ-X3-04.

Please give me the weekend to think about it. I want to put down something that at least remotely resembles organization. :p

And yes, a few registry numbers will be retired to honor the fallen. (There weren't that many casualties, really.)

A lot of the IC stuff will be worked out after the current mission is over. The 3XF will always be one giant time-warp though, with very occasional "syncs" between missions. I'm afraid everyone will just have to learn to live with it. :|

I'm sorry guys, but I just don't have the time to devote to this site at the level that Wes is asking of me. Instead of dragging you guys down with me, I'm resigning my position as GM and taking some time off.

Maybe I'll come back as a player some day, but right now, I need to take a break. SARP is becoming more stressful than my job now, and that's just not right.

You may all consider the mission completed successfully.

Your next step should be to find a new plotship here at SARP. You're all good roleplayers, and I'm sure you'll do just fine.

It was an honor and a privilege to be your GM. ^_^

It is regrettable that the Celia plot and the 3rd XF are losing their GM...

Is anyone willing to step up to Yangfan's place and assume his role? If not...the 3rd XF may have ICly crumbled, or need reconsolidated.

I have a lot on my plate, but I'll try to work with whoever steps up, if anyone. If no one can do it...well...we'll see what can be done. For the sake of the players, maybe the 3rd XF can become a a subfleet with a Chujo from the 5th if all else fails. As long as your missions and plot can continue.

In short, if you still want to play on the Celia and the 3rd XF, we'll see what can be done to save them.
