RP: Bastardpiece Theater [Bastardpiece Theater] Bastard Operations: Ghosts in the Snow

"Aye, i has your back no worry, yes?" Kira said as she looked around, her hand still in the pocket on the staff. She was also ready to open her coat fast and get her pistol if need be. "Try look for cables, yes? Also I think we might has trouble those gangers. I am going to ignore them for now, but we might have to shoot or beat them soon."

Hearing the sound of the urine stream hitting the side of the van, a chuckle left the back of Dex's throat. "Reminds me of the first time we got shore leave after Boot." spoke the man while he checked his Styrling Silver's magazine lightly tapping the back of it to shift the rounds and avoid a jam. Sliding the magazine into the mag well, he pulled the slide carefully to make as little noise as possible before replacing the weapon at the holster on the back of his belt. Glancing around the inside of the van, as he heard Kira and Fian over the comms. "Alright you two. Let's try and avoid injuries this round." was the man said as he waited for the go ahead from Kurt to get moving. Digging into his pocket for a cigarette, promptly producing a lighter. Soon clouds of the thickly scented smoke drifted within the rear of the van.

Back Alley:

As the duo went on, the gangsters stayed in place at first, excitedly muttering amongst themselves as their eyes went over the seemingly meek Fian and up and down Kira's warmly clothed shape in particular. It was as obvious as possible what they all were going to do, or what they wanted one of them to be more specific. As Fian found the gray, weathered box, its hatch locked by a padlock, they started to approach. "A scared pretty boy and his pretty girl," one of them mockingly spoke, taking the lead. Wearing a black jacket with a fur lined hood, he held a crowbar in his hands - a potential solution to their problem if there was no other way to pick or break the lock.

"Hey, did you hear his leg? He's a gimp that just got a new leg!" the red one to the leader's left pointed at Fian, brandishing a metal pipe. The other two were fanning out to either flank, one with a more thin green ski-jacket with its hood's strings pulled tight and a switchblade in hand, while the other, wore a thickly padded gray jacket. His hands were still in his pockets however, and hadn't drawn anything out quite yet.

"We don't mind people passing buy, but you're trashing our hangout spot," he went on, a smile barely visible from under the balaclava he wore. "You're definitely going to have to make up for that," the gangster added as the entire group began to close in.

"Kill those highschoolers if you have to," Nacon spoke in their ears. "If you can't keep the noise down, oh well!"

Condo Front:

Outside their van, the relieved sound of a zipper being pulled up was lost in the cold, frigid breeze. For them, things were going well - the drunk wasn't a concern in the slightest.

One of the building's security guards however, was perhaps another issue entirely. Angrily walking out of the building, he shouted at the drunk, "Get out of here you think you can piss anywhere?!" before pelting him a good few times with a heavy steel flashlight. With him out of the way, his eyes fell on the yellow icicle and light up with a cold fire. Rapping on the passenger side window, he yelled into their van. "Hey, what the hell are you doing here? Your van's got a piss-cicle on it and you're making us look bad!"

They were dealing with a fascist neat-freak.

Fian recalled that once upon a time if he were faced with a situation like this, he would escape. He could see it played out in his mind, it was a shimmy up the drainpipe, across the ledge on the other building, down the emergency stairs and under the gap in the fence that a 10 year old boy could crawl through. But eight more years of school and another eight more years of war, Fian was not that 10 year old boy any more, not in nimbleness but definitely not in strength.

He turned around to face the group, cracked his knuckles, and gave them a deranged shit-eating grin like someone who has spilled more blood than they had drunk water. "You people hang out here? This place is a shithole. Me and my friend here are just contractors, renovating ugly things is what we do, yaknnow?." He then took a few confident steps towards them, the powered brace was just like wearing part of a Power Armor, and was possibly just as deadly in his hands (leg). He pointed to the leader of the gang.

"Now you can fuck off and let us do our renovations in peace. Or you can stick around and me and my friend will renovate your face. The choice is yours."

Kira decided that best thing to do was tryin to play scared lady so she made a step back and put her free hand up to her face in a silent scared yelp. In fact the hand went up in case she needed to block incoming attack, while her right hand was read to pull out her staff and go on offensive as soon as possible. Her eyes looked from one ganger to another, calculating and measuring who could be most dangerous and how should she proceed about getting rid of them. She watched their, clothing thinking which one had too thick coat that it could soak much of her hits, and she would have to strike him in limbs, head or crotch. She looke for bulges under their clothing to gauge how many firearms they had. What was sure, was that they need to deal with this before shots were traded. Loud stuff brings attention, fist-fights make people just shrug and think 'meh, mondays,' and go on their own merry way.

Lucky breathed a bit of smoke out of his nose, scratching at his eyebrow.

“Read the side of the van. Your vagrants aren’t my problem, they're yours, and this is company property he just pissed on. You want to explain to me why you're letting one of your damned hobos piss on the van in the first place?”

Laughter. There was plenty of it.

"Oh snaaaaaap!~~ He thinks he's got big balls!" the pipe wielding red one jeered in reply, the others jumping in to laugh at the idea.

The one dressed in black took a pair of steps towards Fian, his hands up as though to silence the rest. "You come here, just strutting around like you own the place, and you diss us? What's this world coming to?" the thickly clothed gang leader asked, the others adding their voices of approval. "What you said sounds like bad manners, yeah? It's something that's not proper at all, so I think, we should teach you a lesson, right guys?" With a roar of approval, it seemed that no matter what they said, their minds were already dead set on what was going to happen as they menacingly brandished their weapons.

But one voice spoke up.

"Can't we just beat the shit out of him and plow girl while he watches already?" The one in the gray jacket impatiently spat, his hands still buried deep in his pockets. Unlike the others, he still hadn't revealed what he was going to use "Pitching a tent in all this thick clothing hurts, you idiots." They all stared at him, uncertain, before the leader spoke, his voice reminiscent to that from a kid dragging his feet.

"Duhhhh. No need to be an ass about it," he shot at the other dropout. Turning back to Fian and Kira, he took a single step forward, the rest moving to slowly close in as their weapons were readied.

Nacon's voice spoke in their ears, nervous, "Put that device into the terminal already! Otherwise the others are screwed!"

Condo Front:

The security guard looked past Sawaka and straight at Lucky - the expression on his face was absolutely furious, like a bully who just got his favorite toy busted by some snotty new kid on the playground.

"What. Did you just say?" the man asked the Helashio, his voice deathly quiet. "YOU THINK YOU'RE THE BOSS OF ME?!" he yelled, face red in rage. His hand slammed into the frame of the passenger door as he leaned in closer to the glass, his eyes completely wild and bloodshot. "How about you get the F#%& off my property, or I bash your window in and mess you up, huh?" This close, every single pore could be seen on the man's chubby face. He was the kind of person people instantly pictured when it came to random security mooks. The kind that was on the fat side, with one hell of a temper, and likely was in this job since he couldn't cut it to become a cop, or make it into the military. The kind of person that people thought of as a failure, and had a lot of rage and anger to pour at anyone else that so much gave a look. And he looked back, eyes briefly flicking over to Sawaka. "You know what, how about I mess up your girlfriend too, and book you both for not getting off of private property, huh?!"

"You guys in the back of the van - get out and start going to the front door. Walk casual," Nacon began. "The other guys are about to plug the hack module in, and you'll at least divide the guard's attention for a bit!"

Lucky flicked the small dog-end of his cigar out onto the pavement.

"We're here at your request, so I would like to see you try explaining to the authorities why you decided to start swinging on people you called. My boys are just going to be in and out, if you let em' in the front door, already. We've been waiting out here in the cold for too damnedable long and you're wasting our time otherwise."

Lucky was the perfect picture of calm; only Sakawa, as omniprescient as Nekovalkyrja were, would notice his hand - no longer holding his cigar - dipping into his coat. For 'warmth.' Her ears would catch the quiet sussurus of his prehensile tail, coiling beneath his coat.

"Besides, my girlfriend here could kick your ass."

Shrugging in response to everything going on, Dex gave one more silent pat to the back of his belt to reassure himself his weapon was there. Nodding to Kurt and Dick, he pushed the doors open and grabbed his assigned drain cleaner while he made his way to toward the front door of the building. "Overwatch, we are Oscar Mike." mumbled Dex into his radio while he approached the guard. "Hey, buddy. Got a call you guys needed the drains snaked." spoke Dex as he attempted to draw the man's attention. All the man could do was hope to god Nacon was going to get them buzzed in before they got too curious or pushed for a better story.

Sawaka hated belligerent assholes. She hated profanity. And she hated any person who embodied those two things with a strength even greater. The man was loud, obnoxious, and had a hard-on for power. He looked like the sort of person who got into security so he could yell and boss people around. The way he had treated the vagrant proved it when he used force in a place where it clearly hadn't been needed. She sighed, the image of tired boredom, and irritation as the man leaned in close to her window. Slowly, she pressed the button to lower it down. The cold was uncomfortable at first but she could deal with it just fine.Hidden away, her ears nearly twitched as she heard Lucky moving, as she saw the way his hand slipped away beneath his coat. She wanted to reach for her gun as well but the shouldered-holstered .45 would be too obvious right now and the shotgun - well the shotgun was hardly a very stealthy kind of weapon at all. Though she could pull him close, and . . . she put the thought aside. Stabbing somebody in the eye with a shotgun barrel was hardly discreet, no matter how tightly she held his jaw shut. After all, the guard at the door would likely notice her pulling his friend into the van through her window.

As much as she would have liked snapping at Lucky for the 'girlfriend' comment, her face was schooled, and she turned to the security guard with a raised brow while running one hand through bright red hair. Then she looked back to Lucky.

"Babe, if I took this guy behind the van and kicked his ass, would they call it self-defense or would they pull from your paycheck like last time?"

Then she held out a single hand to Lucky, "Cigar me?"

And finally, she gently reached out the open window to wrap her arm around the guard's shoulder. A gentle, womanly sort of touch. Not aggressive or threatening in the lazy way she did it. More - inviting. Yet she still had her eyes on Lucky.

"Or maybe I could - deal with this 'problem' another way?" She motioned with a nod of the head to the nearest alley, and then turned to the guard with a similar, questioning look.

Without saying anything, Kira remembered her training and jumping into the action. The man in black most likely had a blade or a handgun, but he was not the closest. The so called leader was about to do something so best thing would be not to let him. Kira's hand left her pocket and her thumb pressed a tiny button. The telescopic staff extended on both sides. It was a quarterstaff, reaching up to her shoulders from the ground. Perfect for melee like this. It was always better to use weapons rather then hands and feet after all.

Kira jumped forward, holding the staff near the end and in the middle with and swung fast at from above at the head of the leader. She wanted to take him out first, even though in reality the real leader was probably the man in the black. First things first, it would take a bit to eat through the gangsters to the blackster after all.

Lucky produced his cigar case, and tripped its latch, one-handed. He offered it over to his 'Girlfriend', letting her pick her own. He'd smoked through one side of the case already.

"Wouldn't come out of my paycheck, darling." Lucky put a slight twist on 'darling', playing it up. In his rear-view mirror, he checked the progress of the 'plumbers'. Just a little while longer and they could kick up a ruck out here, if they really had to, by his reckoning. It would be enough.

Mentally he warred with the idea of the Nekovalkyrja being molested by the frankly unattractive guard, then decided that he wasn't really that mean, no matter how standardless his 'girlfriend' was. Besides. If he /really/ had a girlfriend who looked like that, he wouldn't share. Why, if he had a girlfriend like that...

An idea occurred.

"Might come out of his, though. Get your hands off my girl before I get mad."

Condo Front:

The guard could only scoff at Lucky's statement. "As if - she's a hot piece of ass, but she's no cat!" he guffawed. When the entry group left the van to move in however, they caught his eye. "Yeah, whatever. Just buzz the room you're going to so the people there let you in. And don't get shit everywhere." It was only for a moment, really. His focus was on the other two. Turning back to Lucky and Sawaka, he could only stare in surprise at first, but then burst out into a hearty laugh at her offer. "Oh man, that's priceless!" the guard kept laughing. It was only when Lucky spoke up that his reaction changed.

"Hey man! She? She came onto me, ok?" the fat man raised his hands in the air defensively. "You heard what she said right?"

When the entry group began to move to the entrance however, Nacon's voice shrilly squawked in their ears, "Kira and Fian haven't installed the damn thing yet! If you push the button now, you'll only alert the residents - take a detour to the back, and help them - they're fighting off a bunch of gangbangers!"

Back Alley:

The dull peal of metal pipes colliding rang through the alley - though Kira pulled out a weapon, the flourish was easily seen and blocked by the red clad gangster. His own pipe swung out in a crude, brute force parry, but it did its job as another took a swing at her, forcing the woman back. "Hey, hey! Check this chick out! She's the one fighting, not her prettyboy!" he laughed, ridiculing them both. The others were cackling as well, before he took on a more serious tone. "Lets break her knees and have fun!" he cheered, the four of them now closing in on Kira first, with Fian behind her.

The two were being backed up against the wall as they all watched the woman feinting attacks and cackling at her defense.

The red guy knew how to fight and has seen through Kira's ruse. That was not good, but the bad guys did not won yet. Kira really did not want to pull a gun, but they might force her to do do it. Fight time came and things got interesting. Kira was taught to trust her instincts by her IPG instructor. The man told her to fight as dirty as she could and never to give enemy a moment to breath. Crush them fast, do not mingle around and do not talk until enemy is dead.

Kira blocked few pipe swings and then set off to attack on her own. She swung from above at the leaders head but that was a feint. Staff has two ends, stopping her swing just a foot away from his head, she swung with the other end right at his crotch. With some luck he did not wear a protector, but even if he did, it would still hurt. Kira was ready to jump back and parry swings from his buddies after that.

Fian frowned, his attempt at intimidation failed for some reason and Kira seems to be spoiling for a fight. The ex-marine could put out sixty bullets in six seconds if he wanted this fight to end really quickly, but he'd rather not escalate when there are no other guns involved YET. Theres still one guy who could pull out a gun and while they would probably want Kira warm, Fian didn't think they'd have any use for his body dead nor alive, he would have to keep one hand in his pockets for a quick snapshot just in case.

He didn't want to stand so close to Kira when she is swinging that stick around so he went right up to one of her nearest assliantants first. They were armed and had an advantage in range so Fian counted on dodging the first blow and then going for a mechanically boosted knee snapping kick.

Sawaka was grinning, a broad curve of tightly pursed lips while she kept her arm lazily resting over the guard's shoulders. She did a mental review. Nobody in the lobby because this slob had abandoned his post. Nobody on the streets - because this slob had beaten and scared the man off after the bum had pissed on their van. A good agent tried to avoid fights whenever possible. If you got stuck in with the local talent then it meant you had made a mistake. And SAINT operatives weren't known for making mistakes. So if a fight had to happen? She wanted it over and decided in her favor before it had even begun. This goon was probably used to beating on the drunk and disorderly, with maybe the occasional ganger who got too close to the building with a can of spray paint and a blade. He was overweight and so probably wasn't as good on his feet as, say, a SAINT neko. Sawaka watched him raise his hands. They were empty and right where she could see them. They were perfectly positioned to be pinned between his body and the door. Yet at the same time the bastard probably had a check in, she realized. A call to make periodically just to make sure he was still alive.

Sawaka turned to face Lucky, cigar placed between her lips as she did. She caught his game, or at least she was pretty sure she did. So she needed to play up the angle, "What's the matter, baby? Afraid I'm gonna go running off with some other guy and never come home?"

Men like this guard always seemed willing to believe two things. The first was that women needed help in all things. The second was that women were uncontrollably attracted to them. It was always best to play to those when necessary.

Then she turned to the guard, "Light me?" She motioned to the cigar.

Barely, she braced the arm around his shoulders. She didn't want him moving away. Not yet.

Back Alley:

The one in the gray jacket was laughing, but not for long.

Kira's quarterstaff was quick and deft, tricking the red hooded gangster with a feint before swinging the long rod and striking him hard in the thigh - a silver flicker slashed though the air and barely missed her face, making her miss her mark! She thrust it out and smacked the knife wielder squarely in the forehead, but the guy with the crowbar came in from behind. Before Kira could move to parry him, Fian darted in with a hard kick, the powerful blow landing square in the side of his hip, sending the young man tumbling to the ground where he scrambled to get back up.

"Seriously? What the hell? Are you guys stiff from the cold or something?" the guy in the gray jacket shouted incredulously.

"Hey, I thought he pussied out! I didn't see him coming - asshole hits hard," the black one spat back, clutching his crowbar. The one in red, despite hopping back and forward thanks to his sore thigh, was absolutely pumped.

"Oh MAN! I really want her now! C'mon George, do something!" he excitedly yelled, prompting the green jacketed guy to roll an eye from beneath a gloved hand clutching his head. He took it off and twirled his knife, getting ready.

"Fine, fine. Don't get your panties in a knot," the gray one lazily replied, slowly drawing out a handgun like a sloth.

They had a split second to react.

Condo Front:

"H-hey, that's just not fair!" the guard stammered, eyes furtively darting from Sawaka to Lucky and back. Left briefly speechless, Kurt was already moving towards the front door again, but another sharp few words from Nacon had him stop. She was buying them time, but it was running out, and fast.

"Dex, grab your tool box and go around the back, right now! Draw your weapon once you're out of sight - just open it up for Kurt, and enter into the back once it's wrapped up there. You can meet up with him inside! Just hurry!" Nacon's voice frantically ordered him about.

Meanwhile, the guard turned out to be a prude too. "You, you got to stick to one person at a time!" he half stammered out - Sawaka could even see that he was now starting to sweat, even in this cold. Under her grip, the Neko could even feel his heart racing. "I mean, you can't just go around with every guy you meet like a, like a..."

"Oh no you dont."

This was when Fian's balled up right hand left his pockets, trailing a couple of empty cartriges, bullets and a trail of fine dust. Gray guy's face, nose, mouth, eyes and any other non natural orifice on it was going to be filled and invaded by high-velocity gunpowder thrown by the Vel Steyr. With his left hand still in his pocket on the trigger for added precaution, he raced up to the boy and grabbed his gun arm with the intention to twist it into dropping the weapon and then performing a judo throw over his back.

He heard the order over the earpiece before glancing at the way around to the back of building. "Roger. Oscar Mike." replied the man while he lifted his box and started around to the back of the building, drawing his Styrling Silver and pulled the hammer back with his thumb. Sure enough there was Kira and Fian in a load of shit attempting to fight off the bangers. "Assisting now." spoke the man as he quickly screwed the sound suppressor onto the threads at the end of the barrel and zeroed on the gang bangers that were farther away from the conflict to avoid hitting his comrades. Continuing a slow forward motion, he intended to drop as many of them as he could so Kira and Fian would have less opposition.

Well, that wasn't the worst luck she'd ever had with this sort of thing. She wanted to sigh, exasperated, but she didn't want to give up the cover just yet. Besides, the folks hadn't gotten inside yet. The longer she could keep this guard looking at her, the longer they would have to get inside without being noticed. The way the guard stammered and stumbled over his words made it obvious just what he was going to compare her to. So, another part of her wanted to punch him in the throat and leave him in the snow to choke to death. Instead she decided that for the moment she would play it - a bit more low-key than that. Instead she just kept her grip on his shoulder to keep him in place and let her grin shrink only slightly as his words petered off, and she rose a brow. Leaning in, she whispered.

"Oh, but I would stick to one person at a time. Unless you want somebody to join." It was laying it on thick to be sure, but a flustered guard focusing on her wasn't an alert guard spotting the others waiting to get in.

She just had to hope Lucky would do something to stall him further.
