RP: Bounty Hunts [Bounty 4] Firestarters

Complex - Office Building North - Outside

It didn't seem that the three bounty hunters had been spotted, their movement concealed by the smoke and their footsteps muffled by the gunfire. Danny arrived first, taking position to the right side of the door, then Desmond and Rathe to the left; now that they were right next to the building, they could hear that there was a lot of movement inside.

There was an audible roar coming from inside the warehouse, prompting Desmond to quickly glance at the building. "Jaina that sounds like an engine starting inside the warehouse. Do any of your guys have AT?" he asked asked, shoulder pressed against the wall of the office building and keeping his gun pointed at the entrance to the warehouse, scanning the closed loading docks every now and then in case they suddenly opened with the suspected vehicle it had inside. It would be a very weird time to perform auto maintenance.

Glancing back towards Danny, he made a sign for the blonde to proceed with the breach.

Complex - Outside Warehouse

The small arms fire provided by Jaina and her partner didn't do much against the dug in gnagers inside the building, and the muzzle flashes coming from inside the small breach on the boraded up windows didn't relent in the least. There would be no way that she and the other mercenary could make their way there before the gangers shooting from inside the windows turned them into ground beef, but since Duncan's boss was pouring most of the fire against the entrenched enemies, it meant that his group was now taking less heat from the office building.

Duncan nodded at the directions given by Jaina. He did have the bigger cover weapon after all. "Frank, keep setting up and blow it when ready. I will take overwatch James, you fall back and accompany Frank as first team into the warehouse," Duncan said as he moved to the corner of the building facing the office style building.

He swung his grenade launcher forward, switched off the safety. He brought it up to his shoulder and moved around the corner. He released two grenades to start at the southern and mid section windows of the first floor. His reflex sight helping him greatly with his aim.

South gate

"Roger that Desmond," Jaina called back the leader of the hunters. "One of my guys has a boom tube. We will take care of whatever comes out."

With that she peeked again, but had to pull back as there were a lot of bullets flying at the gate. She looked at the mercenary with her and spitted on the ground. She then fired a blind burst at the building, just to give some heat back.

"Jenkins," Jaina called one of her mercenaries, the one with anti-tank weapon. "Get your rocket ready. They are readying some kind of vehicle in the warehouse. Blow it up as soon as it gets out."

Rooftop

Things were happening down below and Amanozako frowned. Seems they had forgotten she was up here. She would have to mention that to Desmond.

"Figures, send the front line infantry woman to loiter on the roof and leave her there.. Should have sent the sniper up here to f**k around" she muttered as she floated off the roof, kicking in her active camo and stealthfully crossed to the other building. She didn't set foot on the warehouse roof, but remained floating.

At the warehouse, she found the room door and listened. She could hear the engine below, but pushed that sound aside, tuning in for the sound of any people unfortunate enough to be on the other side once she made her entrance.

Switching off the safety and selecting the desired firing mode on her impaler assault rifle, she prepared to enter. She tested the doorknob to see if it was locked.

The breach could proceed. Perfect. First thing was first was to boot the door down. There was a specific technique to it - the knocker had to kick hard, keep the other foot planted against the ground, put their whole body into it without overstretching and losing solid foundation. With this as the preparation, striking the area just beneath the doorknob tore the most complicated mechanical part away from the rest of the door. Jump kicks were not recommended, nor is putting your leg through the middle of the door.

With that in mind, Danny pulled the pin from the grenade and kept his hands over the lever, getting into stance and booting the door open, then tossing the grenade in and disappearing around the corner before hearing a flash, moving in and acquiring targets caught in the confusion. Even if there were no readily available targets he wasn't going to take chances. The place could be booby trapped further in - an entrance like this was simply too enticing.

Perhaps deliberately so.

South Gate & Warehouse

The mercenary rigging the spot on the wall gave Duncan a thumbs up as he grabbed another small brick of plastic explosive and continued to rig them to blow the new entrance clean off, while the other mercenary finished dressing the wound on his leg that he had applied the liquid bandage to. As the man got up again to aim over Duncan's shoulder, the Nepleslian let loose two grenades from the launcher, watching them sail in an arc towards the boarded up windows from where the gangers had been keeping Jaina suppressed. The first grenade managed to hit the bottom of the window frame, sending rubble everywhere as it demolished a small part of the wall; the second grenade, following right behind it, entered the room and exploded inside the room, ending the stream of automatic fire that was keeping Jaina and the merc with her pinned.

Then nearly half of the second floor collpased.

Some of the gangers that had been taking cover inside the second floor that weren't caught in the rubble quickly scurried to the opposite side of the building after a part of it was demolished, but were still mounting some resistance to the attack.

Office Building - North Side

There were still dust particles suspended in the air from Danny's flashbang by the time the bounty hunter kicked down the door, revealing a narrow hallway with one door to each side before it opened up to the stairs that led to the second floor. It was easy to identify that one of the doors were actually blown off from its hingers after being reduced to splinters by the improvised bomb that Kendra had left in the building, while also, right off the bat, he'd notice that there was trash littered all over the place with green jerry cans and spray paint canisters stacked on top of cardboard boxes, making it even more difficult to walk through it. Further down to the end, the trio could hear the sounds of two different automatic weapons being fired.

Before any of them could do anything about it, however the entire office building shook with two explosions, sending the dust that hadn't been shaken off from the flashbang into the air, while the end of the hallway simply ceased to be as the entire second floor collapsed over it, smashing whoever was firing. Desmond waited a few more seconds to see if the rest of the structure wouldn't also fall and then tapped Danny on the shoulder.

"Go." He said to the dirty blonde before glancing around the corner to confirm that it had been one of the mercs who had done that. He wasn't happy with that; Kendra was still inside the second floor somewhere and that would be the second time one of her mercenaries risked a friendly fire.

"Jaina, Kendra is still on the second floor, tell your guys not to demolish it," he radioed before readying the rifle and following Danny.

Office Building - Second floor

The door leading to the room that Kendra was hiding in suddenly burst open as a duo of gangers stumbled inside. The gang signs on their jackets were barely recognizable since the two of them were caked in gray dust from barely escaping being buried in the rubble. From inside the broom closet, the Separa'shan could see that one of them was helping to keep his buddy upright, and slowly dragged the injured ganger to the table in the middle, while the former left a trail of blood on his wake. Quickly, he set his buddy on the table, then proceeded to the window and started emptying the LMG.

Warehouse - North Side

Amanozako set down near the warehouse's entrance, and with her heightened senses she could hear the sound of a combustion engine more clearly, as well as the voices inside, which seemed to be quite a few of them yelling about getting some done as they ran around inside the room. As the neko tried pushing the door, and noticing that it wouldn't budge because it had been chained from the other side, a hail of automatic fire erupted around her as someone from the second floor of the office building started firing. The fire was mainly inaccurate since the person didn't bother ranging the shots and never really stopped firing to correct them, and her flak vest stopped most of the bullets that hit her back, but one bullet managed to hit her exposed right arm a little over the elbow.

Office Building - North Side

Rathe instinctively braced himself against the wall as the explosions shook the building, shotgun still up and ready to fire as the dust and debris slowly settled. The Nepleslian pushed himself off of the wall as he noticed Danny and Desmond making their way down the surprisingly quiet office space. With nothing to shoot at and nothing otherwise interesting in the room, Rathe could only follow the two ahead of him and provide help if he was needed.

As they entered the long hallway of the office building, Rathe spotted a place that could have hidden a potential surprise attack. "Heads up." The Nepleslian warns, lifting his shotgun above Danny's shoulder to use the sights properly in case of an ambush. It almost looked like Rathe was using the Lorath as a meat shield, but he was really just taking out the possibility of friendly fire.

Outside the compound - South Side, Van Insertion Point

Salem stood on the driver side of the van as he chatted with the driver as the rest assaulted to the compound. He had been assigned to keep a 'defensive perimeter' around the van. He had been to this section of Funky City numerous times during his time within the Nepleslian Police Force and developed a particular dislike for the criminal denizens that lurked here and would put a bullet in between each every one of their heads if given the chance.

Shots and explosions however rang loudly from the compound as Salem tried his best to soothe his itchy metal trigger finger. Though he is glad to have picked up a spot within the gig, he felt growing disappointment in having to stand guard near the van. It had been a while since Salem had assaulted a compound since losing his job in the Force and the sound of gunfire had roused him. Moments after, a breaching charge had presumably blew out a wall. Though Salem was a man of patience, he could not bear being excluded from the firefight any longer.

Salem set his ZSMG-02b's safety off and onto single shot before propping the front grip down. He slid his ballistic goggles down from his helmet and onto his balaclava covered face. His somewhat basic ballistic armor compared to today's standards were reminiscent of what much older police assault units wore.

"Hey, I'm sure you understand if I leave right? Fantastic." Salem left no room for the driver to reply as he swiftly moved towards the compound, SMG pointed and with his trigger finger set straight and off the trigger. He had planned to link up with any friendlies if possible, though he could handle moving solo if needed.

A gout of smoke and dust with the occasional empty can of potted meat and spray bottle left the doorway Danny had cleared - he did not intend for his flashbang to tear a third of building to pieces. Perhaps that was not his flashbang at all. Even though his eyes were covered, he still put an arm up to cover them in out of reflex.

With the worst of it gone, he moved in with the Ripshot raised. Rathe's observation, however, made him crouch down and make himself a smaller target while letting the gold-skinned Nepleslian aim above him. In a staggered formation, he advanced aggressively, waving for Desmond to advance and get ready to provide covering fire in case there was an ambush.

As he was reaching the crossroads, Danny pointed Rathe to aim to the left towards the stairwell while Danny was looking to the right at the foyer for the main entrance.

South Gate

Jaina watched the building crumble and grinned. She just hoped that the friendly inside was fine, they should be if they reported the location fine. The mercenary peeked around the gate again and looked as the dust from the explosion was settling. She raised her rifle, when she heard Desmond on the horn.

"I know Desmond, she should be fine though. I am moving to the building through the rubble so watch your fire." Jaine called bad and than waved at the merc with her.

"Duncan, seize fire! We are moving in from the south and friendlies already reached the building." Jaina ordered and nodded at her companion. "Let's go Jack."

The mercenary leader jumped out and ran to the collapsed part of the building. It was imperative that she and her man gets inside through the rubble and inside, before whatever vehicle leaves the warehouse. They also needed to move fast while the defenders inside might still be stunned from the explosion.

Office Building - Second floor

Kendra wondered what the hell was going on outside. The whole building shook and she had troubles to keep balance. One of the kerosene cans inside the closet almost tipped over, but Kendra caught it with her free hand. "What the hell," Kendra muttered. She slightly opened the door to see outside.

That was when she saw two men, one was injured. Leaving his buddy on the table, the second ganger moved for the window and grabbed his LMG, opening up on something.

Kendra scowled at the sight, she wanted to keep hidden until Desmond and the rest finds her. That was the plan, but she could not just stand by when a man with a machinegun was firing at her team and Jaina's mercenaries. Kendra took a deep breathed and raised her 10mm silenced pistol.

With her free hand she slowly and carefully pushed the doors open as silently as possible, aiming the pistol on the head of the machinegunner. The thundering of his LMG, helped cover any sound she should make.

Aiming at the gunner's ear, she pulled the trigger. *PUFF* Then she would quickly re-aimed at the face of the injured one. She would not shoot him though, instead, she would just put a finger in front of her mouth in a gesture for him to keep silent or else. If he was even conscious.

Warehouse - North Side

Amanozako cursed as she took fire and a hit before she could jump out of the way. The pain and damage was insignificant, already her built in healing systems were at work and the pain was dulled away.

She spotted the source of the gunfire, aimed the HHG loaded with RED explosive shells and snapped off two shots in reply.

Rathe simply nodded as he turned the corner and stared down the sights of his Westech. If there was anyone on the stairs that meant them harm, it would ultimately come down to who could pull the trigger first, and the spread of the shotgun could probably strike multiple targets, on the chance there was anyone at all.

South Gate

As the explosion collapsed part of the building, Salem's pace sped up into a jog. He had noticed Jaina and and her mercenary make a dash for the partly crumbled building before attaching himself to cover besides the gate on the side where Jaina had been before. Salem nudged slightly outward with his SMG to provide cover should something decide to take pot shots at the running mercenaries.

From his position, he could spot Duncan and his group of mercenaries. Salem decided it would be best if he were to reach Duncan, as he assumed the office building was occupied with enough friendlies. He would cover the dashing mercenaries, making sure they reached safety from the open before making a mad sprint himself.

"Friendly! Moving!" Salem yelled to the others huddled against the warehouse wall as he planted his first step of many towards them. Being caught out in the open with no cover would make for a bad day. Being shot by friendlies while advancing in the open however would make for a very bad day.

South Warehouse

Duncan nodded with satisfaction at the success of his well placed, if he said so himself, grenade cover. It was unfortunate that it also took down the second floor. He would never purposely put an allies life in danger if he could avoid it. He hoped that whoever was in there was safe.

He copied the multiple incoming communications, "Copy that Jaina, happy hunting. We will breach the warehouse and see about flanking the hostiles inside. Salem, haul ass while we got some breathing room." He swung his launcher around and fastened it snuggly to his back.

He raised his CQBS once again and turned to the mercenaries behind him, "Frank, blow that wall. James, you and I are first through then Frank and Mack and Salem last. We need to keep whatever vehicle they have in there stationary. Watch each other's backs and let's do this."

Duncan put his shoulder to the wall and turned away from the imminent blast. As it was cleared he would roll around and first look for cover then any poor gangers who would soon become target practice.

Office Building - 1st Floor

Danny and Rathe continued their advance through the hallway without any problems except that they occasionally had to kick aside the spraypaint cans that had fallen off of where had been placed when the entire second floor collapsed. Ahead of them, there was still a fine mist of dust blocking the view of the south side of the compound, but the optics from Danny's SQUID suit could penetrate that easily, which made him the first one to see another duo arriving. One of them was wearing a full set of the Everyday Armor while hefting a heavy machinegun for support, while the other, which had a distinctive feminine silhouette, was an easy guess that it was Jaina.

The door behind them to their left came open in a shower of splinters as Desmond kicked it down, followed by him firing two quick bursts at whoever had been inside. "Room clear!" The Nepleslian called out on the comms before emerging back into the hallway and preparing himself to do the same thing to the opposite door.

As soon as the mercenary following her spotted the two of them, he briefly raised a gloved hand at the two bounty hunters before running over the still smoking rubble and reching the empty foyer. "Boss we oughta make this our plan A next time," he yelled to Jaina through the balaclava he was wearing.

Above them, two other minor explosions rang out, which prompted more rivulets of dust to come down from the old ceiling.

Office Building - 2nd Floor

Kendra's victory was short lived, since as soon as she saw the pink mist exit the ganger's head the man and the window frame he was bracing against violently ceased to exist as what basically counted as two small sticks of dynamite denonated against him. The two small explosions sent pebble-sized chunks of concrete flying and bouncing everywhere inside the room for a few moments before it all became quiet again.

Once that happened, Kendra could see that the other ganger that was laid out on the table had stopped moving, while the blood from his wounds continued to pool down under the furniture, which was when she also started hearing more sounds coming from the second floor, as well as more people yelling.

"Go check what that noise was!" A crisp, hoarse voice yelled.

Compound - Outside Warehouse

With no one enthusiastically firing a machinegun from the window at them, the gunfire was sporadic at best and Salem managed to move safely to where the other three mercenaries and Duncan were taking cover at. Upon reaching the safety of that spot, the mercenary in charge of rigging the wall up with explosives gave Duncan a thumbs up before tossing him the wireless detonator.

"It's all set, the bast will blow the wall inwards in case there's someone waiting for us on the other side. you do the honors" He said, motioning for the other two mercs to follow him away from the explosives. The other two quickly stopped firing at the second floor and one of them helped his buddy who had been hit on the foot away.

Further north, Amanozako would notice that the shooting aimed at her had ceased, but the door in front of her was still blocked from the other side.

North

With the fire silenced, Amanozako reloaded the two spent cartriges with a pair of new red shells

She gave the door enough space to protrct her from a blast and fired another pair of the explosive shells, this time aimed at the blocked door. The shells should, by her previous experiance, have sufficiant power to blast the warehouse door, and whatever or whoever was behind it, to shreds.

Burnouts Compound, Office Building
Still more explosions? Danny thought they were dealing with the Explodeouts rather than the Burnouts. Seemed like a clever enough ruse - where there were explosions, there tended to be fire after all. Another pair of explosions rocked the building and he was beginning to wonder if it were the mercs' doing, or the Burnouts pulling contingency and possibly trying to cook their assets and salt the earth.

Maybe they thought this was a takeover. Unfortunately for them, it was actually an extermination. "What's Plan B, twice as many explosions?" Danny mumbled to himself before patting Rathe on the shoulder, "upstairs, go, quick." He took point again, moving up the stairs and looking up at where he wanted to go, expecting either resistance, Kendra, or both. He hoped there was still some of her left after all those explosions.

Office Building - Interior - Stairwell

Rathe knew they would be fighting an ID-SOL, and knew the explosions were just a part of the fight. Nothing less effective could take down the genetically enhanced goliath. Even still, did there need to be so many? There were plenty of hunters still in here and Rathe was pretty sure none of them wanted to be blown up.

Following Danny's command, even though he would have done it himself, Rathe bounded up the staircase, skipping every other step as he held the boomstick in his hands at the ready. Only as he turned the corner to check for active hostility did he realize that he, the only one not completely coated in armor, was leading the trio into what could easily be enemy fire.

Office Building, 1st floor

Jaina started crossing rubble when she saw someone ahead of them. At first she raised her rifle, but she could see it was the hunters. "Friendlies!" Jaina said to the men and moved through the rubble to find stable ground. She chuckled when her partner said that explosions should be part A.

"Explosives cost money Jack," she replied as she jumped into remnants of a hallway and grabbed her rifle properly. "But I am all for it. We will just take it off your share." The woman joked.

Crossing the rubble took some time so by the time she reached the stairwell, Rather was already there and moving up. Jaina did not wait up and moved behind him.

Office Building, 2nd floor

That was not good. Whoever was outside and dis-integrated the ganger with light machinegun gained attention of other bad guys on this floor. Whoever spoke up, had strong and nasty voice to be heard all the way up here. Kendra did not like that too much, since it could be some big strong and nasty man. She just hoped it would not be an Id-Sol or the pyromaniac boss of the gang.

The snake lady moved quickly into the corner of the room, hidden behind the open door so whoever came would not see her right away. She 'crouched' down on her tail to be as low as possible. Whoever would come in was probably expecting trouble so she had to keep herself low. She would have to shoot the man that comes first and if he would be too armoured, she would use the rolled tail under her as a muscle spring and jump at the man. It was a long time since she had to crush someone using her tail, but if she would have to do it, she would.

"Dez, I'll have company soon." Kendra whispered in the comms, hoping that the help would come fast.

Compound - Outside Warehouse

Duncan took the detonator with an understanding nod. He again braced away from the blast and said over his full com, "Southside warehouse wall going down, brace." With that he pushed the button and involuntarily winced as the explosives boomed behind him.

The wall rocked from the force and the pall of dust let Duncan and his team they should be good to proceed. He rolled around, shouldered his shotgun and moved for the breach. He called out to those around him, "Let's go and make boss lady proud boys!"
